02:32 Actually, in original Norse myths, Thor's chariot was pulled by two goats, which he would kill and eat for dinner and ressurect them in the morning so they could pull his chariot again. Talk about animal cruelty.
Panthera I'll definitely look it up. Greek/Roman mythology gets intense but apparently not as much as Norse. You should check out Egyptian mythology. While not as hardcore as Norse, it's really fascinating.
Well, technically, none of the Norse gods are "immortal" in the traditional sense. Pretty much all of them die before or during Ragnarok, which is slated to happen after Fimbulwinter. Same goes for the Einherjar (the soldiers). However, I think the movie is using the terms "god" and "mortal" as opposites, not "immortal" and "mortal"
@@avacornthelastponybender8583 yes, I know. CinemaSins clearly meant to point out that Aether is another Macguffin, comparing it to Tesseract, i just pointed out that this comment is ironic considering we later learned that they are quite similar in nature
Marvel logic: Dark elves try to destroy the universe. "Ah, just let Thor handle it" Ultron threatens one species on a planet: "OH SHIT EVERYBODY RED ALERT RED ALERT"
In the comics there's no fucking doubt, on the movies...meh, not a chance, even less with Malekith using the power of an infinity stone, so...Fuck It. Also, Carson McDonald, All the Avengers where gathered when Ultron was born, so they knew how powerful he was, that's why they all fight him (or is it?). Also, it seems Fury only calls the avengers when someone fuck him up and USA is on threat, otherwise if it's on other part of the planet and it doesn't personally fucks him, then he doesn't give a damn.
Carson McDonald Two words: Response. Time. Ultron gives the Avengers a couple of weeks to get their act together and turn up for the party. The dark elves' invasion hits London, and, by the time someone finds Maria Hill's phone number, all that's left is to say "sorry, never mind. Thor handled this one solo." Suppose someone did alert Tony Stark immediately. Whats the Mk42's flight time from NYC to London? If it's more than twenty minutes, then the fight's over before he could get there; if it's less than several hours, he should be revolutionising the aeronautical industry. Chances are, by the time the other Avengers hear about Malekith as a threat it's "this unknown guy took down Thor and a large chunk of London. We need you to figure out what he is and how to stop him" not "here's an alien invasion we need you to go stop"
It was Loki's voice on the deleted scenes, where Loki wore the uniform and put on an American accent. The one in the movie is actually Chris Evans' voice.
CollectorMaster it doesn’t matter, because the characters like oden that he is later in the movie has their voice not Loki’s so that sin makes no sense
@Six Paths Naruto I mean, guess not ? I was just having fun picturing a dark elf braid train, sheesh ! It’s 5 years later and the idea still tickles me so I can at least thank you for reminding me :)
Presumably they have women, and their wives do it, although we never see them. If there are no women, then perhaps they're immortal? Or perhaps they just live longer than Asgardians, and all the womenfolk died off a long time ago. In that case, they braid each other's long hair like Spartans. or they each braid their own hair as people commonly do nowadays. Perhaps it's not their hair being braided, but braids made out of the pelts of their enemies, perhaps Asgardian pelts.
I would've taken off one sin for each of Loki's commentary lines during the escape from Asgard. He's just so funny, and Tom Hiddleston has awesome comedic timing.
It seems some of you are experiencing technical difficulties in watching this video. Um... that f*cking sucks. It's playing fine for us. UA-cam has the shakes.
It is loading slow and, if, after it starts playing, I skip ahead or go back, it freezes. However, after reloading twice, because it froze twice, I got through the video.
"The Aether is the new Tesseract" Yeah, both are infinity stones. Each movie introduces new ones for the finale where all of them are combined in the gauntlet.
Wait, did they even they that Tesseract is an infinity stone, and that there is more than one of them? Cuz I don't remember that. :< If not, that explains why they didn't know it either, since they pay attention to the whole movie, cuz they gotta watch it more than once. :)
Wait, Frigga and Loki both die from being stabbed in the back, possibly even by the same person, I don't really remember, however only Frigga really dies. And even if Loki was able to save himself using his magic than Frigga should have been able to do so too as she taught Loki everything he knows.
@@njay4399 But Frigga taught him that... and she uses the illusion trick with Jane Foster exactly on the same scene.... why doesn't she use an illusion trick for herself then ? Can we argue she wanted to go because she knew this would free Loki and bring the brothers back together ? I'm so sad, she was such an underrated character :'(
@@njay4399 I don’t think so. I think illusions cannot be touched and Thor did touch him... I think he’s just faking his death then killing the guard guy and pretend to be him to tell Odin that they found a body... but Loki (pretending to be the guard he killed) didn’t name who it was. Does my theory make any sense?
Loki: You must be truly desperate to come to me for help, I mean Hulk, Iron man, Captain America, you could have called any of them yet you choose the one person you can't trust. Thor: Actually now that I think about it you're right! *Walks away* Loki: No, come back! I was only joking!
anyone else just want a Thor movie not on earth. You know, just like an Asgardian apocalypse where thor fights a terrible enemy worthy of facing a city of warriors and gods. Oh wait Ragnarok...
You missed a sin (and one that, as a Londoner, I am unable to look past) - when Thor is on a platform at Charing Cross, he asks a passenger how to get to Greenwich and she responds that it's three stops away on that train. There is no line on the Underground that connects the two.
Am I the only one who saw the scene where the ship crashes into the palace and thought "we now interrupt this Thor movie to bring you the opening to SWTOR" Seriously, watch them side by side, they're so similar.
tbh I would've tacked on a few sins for the horrific inaccuracies I noticed in the scene where Thor rides the Underground: -he goes in at Charing Cross, a station which has been closed since 1999 -he asks how long it would take him to get to North Greenwich, which would be impossible without multiple changes since Charing Cross is a terminus station -the woman who he asks says "three stops" which would be wrong anyway as it's eight from Green Park, the station immediately preceding Charing Cross
youjustpreviewed To avoid a long walk he would want to go to to Cutty Sark station, which he would have to travel on the DLR for, leaving his best option with the Northern to Tottenham Court Road, then the Central to Bank and finally the DLR to Cutty Sark or doing the previous route to North Greenwich and swapping to the DLR just before... This totals at least 3 changes and 15-17 stops. I personally think a sin should be added for each extra stop.
MyBeinghuman His sassiness would've made this movie 80 times better. I mean it was already pretty good because of his little snarky gems, but it would have been a MARVELous movie if they'd gotten more Loki.
Thanks to Cinema Sins, I can no longer watch a film without pointing out plot holes and then become disappointed that I even watched the film in the first place because of everything I pointed out.
I think the point of Cinema Sins isn't to make you hate movies, but to realize that all movies, good or bad, have flaws or errors if you look hard enough. These videos are more for poking fun at movies, rather than legitimately criticizing them.
Don't be sad. Hope that people will become like you, so that movie-goers will expect better. If everyone was very demanding, the people who write movies would have to try very, very hard, because if they didn't we'd tear them new assholes and they wouldn't get any money.
Am I the only one who thought this movie was god damn terrible? I mean, the villain was bad, and the storyline had nothing to it besides a predictable twist that anyone could've seen coming.
yeah but when you think about it all movies are predictable I still thought it was pretty good also question do you follow the comics cause if so you know that they have to set up all of the infinity stones though I do find it stupid how the avengers come in when new York get threatened but when the entire universes gets threatened only thor comes
lol apparently Loki is invincible and will never die and even though I like his character his powers are so OP that it's impossible for anything bad to happen to him. Anyone agree?
I suppose it's all to do with personal preference. As a lover of all things fantasy and mythological, I prefered the dark world. We got a better look at Asgard and the 9 realms... plus there was like 50% more Loki haha :D
Idk if it was in the movie, but there is a bts clip where Tom and Chris are doing that scene and he does a Cap impression so they could get realistic timings as they walk between each column, if that makes sense.
2:44 It's not that the Aether perceived Odin as threatening, it's that _Jane_ perceived him as threatening, and the Aether responded to her emotions. It was the same thing with the cop earlier.
During the battle in london, you forgot to mention that a giant ogre monster thing was let loose and not referenced again, meaning its still out there wreaking havoc
Nosfonader87 Natalie comes off as cold sometimes. It’s great in roles like focused ballet dancer in Black Swan but I don’t find her relatable in the everyday Jane type roles where people are required to root for her character.
@Six Paths Naruto I want Kat Dennings to be Power Girl for DC. She runs her own company and sometimes leader of the Justice Society. So Dennings would have a lot more to do.
"End credit scene introduces another bullsh*t artifact that we're going to have to worry about in future movies and will have vague, but extreme power" He is aware that WAS the Aether right?!
In Nordic mythology you don't really need the bifrost. Also Thor usually eats his immortal goats. Also Loki is Odins brother. Also there was very little violence in vanaheim. Also Dark elfs (or Svartalfs) are half dwarf half elf. They can't do out in sunlight and spend their time in Nidaveller. Svartalfs also are on the gods side and were crucial in stopping ragnarok. Also almost none of them were warriors/magicians. Also Odin can warp reality to whatever is best for the world. Also WTF HAPPENED TO THE EINHERJI?!? The fucking immortal army of hundreds of thousands of Vikings and war Chiefs collected over thousands of years?!?
so pissed throughout this film about why Thor was able to touch Jane and all the others exploded to bits. what, was it true love or some shit? fuck that. also that Darcy character is NOT GODDAMN FUNNY JESUS CHRIST
I watched this with my sister a few days ago (it was the second time she saw it but my first) and we both came to the same conclusion: the Aether doesn't want its host to be harmed. If it thinks any physical contact is meant to harm her, it's not going to let it happen. Because if she dies, it dies. I don't understand how they didn't figure that out. I mean they sorta did, but they just said it didn't make sense or whatever. It's a goddamn movie about a god with a magic hammer that can decide if people are worthy of wielding it. Logic is generally thrown out the window as soon as special powers or inanimate objects that have some level of sentience are added. Not to mention, if the Norse gods are actually real, where are Egyptian, Hindu, and Greek/Roman gods? I know it's based off the comic and that only had Norse gods, but fuck that. With LOTR and the Hobbit, any non-movie information was irrelevant, so it shouldn't be any different with this.
so does this count all the vanir? or just the aesir? sure he was the strongest but not the most powerful. tyr was braver than him odin was wiser. strength doesn't mean all powerful. and over all he was great and a very powerful god like all the Aesir and Vanir. but Marvel thor is very twisted from his original self. i mean the original thor was a red head and also scandinavian people are not in anyway british/austrailian or whatever. marvel doesn't make sense man. also he's the main character, also marvel doesn't give a crap about being consistent.
My biggest problem was the goal of the Dark Elves. They want darkness ... why? They're never _in_ total darkness, their eyes see fine in the light (would've made more sense for them to see in the dark & need goggles in the light), the light makes nothing bad happen to them physically, and they'd need food that's grown in the light ... or do they never eat? It was a dumb goal from the get-go.
The dark elves in general felt like a whole lot of wasted potential. I mean they made a freaking functional language for these guys, but they can't be bothered to flesh out their motives a little better? Then again, what little there is in supplemental stuff implies some nasty things about Asgardians. I guess they didn't want to make the villains too sympathetic. Nothing kills good-guy status quite like genocide.
Mechafiend I really hope they release a director's cut of the film (it's something the director has been pushing for) as a lot of things (like motivation for the Dark Elves) were cut.
I highly doubt there'll be a "Director's Cut" to any Marvel movie following Iron Man. These films are made with twelve-year-olds in mind, and they don't often demand an extended cut of a movie. What's really disgusting is how lackluster the plot of this movie was, and knowing that not only was this NOT an unrefined rough draft, but it was actually REVISED by Joss Whedon, and still turned out this bad. I mean, I don't like Joss much at all as it is. Avengers turned out to be an overhyped film that carried no weight. Knowing that this post-Avengers movie was in part his handywork, I'm just getting offended now. Dude actually wrote some comics for Marvel, but can't make a film feel comic book epic. All you need to know is that the Dark Elves are a poorly constructed lot who were designed with aesthetics in mind, not substance. They're the Stormtroopers of this film, and even their leader is more Stormtrooper than Vader. We'll have better luck with the Collector's one Dark Elf trophy escaping after the purple stone explosion in Guardians of the Galaxy and wreaking havoc than we will of understanding the Dark Elves at all.
Michael Eno It's very unlikely but not impossible seeing as even the Director really wants it to happen. It would be great though because it sounds like they cut out most of the decent character development and a director's cut could seriously improve this film. To be honest it's kind of a shame that Joss was involved with this one as while The Avengers is a very enjoyable film it's characterization left a lot to be desired and instead of getting a chance to round the characters off more we just got more of the same.
I would say the Avengers is only enjoyable the first two times around. After that, even watching it a couple years later offers no joy. Since Iron Man, it built up an enormous amount of traction and hype, only to be revealed as a cheap collection of bad cliches, half-witted one liners, and fighting montages. The story failed to make any sense. Namely in the idea that Loki and Thor are several thousand years old, yet act as old as they look. Loki ought to know that Midgard is too hazardous to claim, and what reason would he have for wanting it? They offered no real explanation as to why he'd bargain with Thanos for an army to conquer Earth. What beef did he have with the world? In the first Thor, he didn't like Thor. How'd that transition to Earth? They never said. If anything, I could understand that upon his revelation of his true heritage, he'd attempt to claim his birthright as the leader of Jotunheim, and have his own personal army of Jotnar rather than rely on a leased group of Chitauri. At least Jotnar don't simultaneously die if the flagship goes down.
Great as always, but you forgot one thing, something that bothered me the moment I saw it: we're supposed to be viewing Maliketh as this super serious threat who's going to fuck up the whole universe, but he needed help killing Thor's mother.
Man, those "we interrupt this superhero movie to bring you" parts were gold! Love this one! Do Incredible Hulk next and the MCU videos will be complete! (except Winter Soldier, which only comes out in American theaters tomorrow, so... yeah.)
"He went somewhere he wasn't supposed to go to fight a guy he'd been told not to fight after his father had ordered the Bifrost close. You're not even TRYING anymore!" It kills me that I didn't see that. Now I won't be able to unsee it.
Actually Tom HIddleston, as Im sure some of you may know, is very talented in impersonating Chirs Evan's voice. And well, impersonations in general. He's really good.
Im going to nit pick, but I swear the hammer isnt that heavy, its just held down by asgardian wuju that stops acting when thor picks it up because he is "worthy". So like no one would be able to take it off the coat hook but it could happily be placed there by thor
When Thor took the train to Greenwich, the woman told him "Take this train, three stops." However, there is no direct underground train from Charing Cross to Greenwich, let alone in 3 stops.
Absolutely spot on. I liked it ok, but the plot holes and other bullshit was so bad I actually noticed them, and I don't usually really care about such things. Biggest one being how whacked the Marvel universe is. The Avengers all come together to defend the earth, but all of freaking reality is at stake and it's up to Thor alone?? No sign of Shield, no sign of anybody else? Uh huh. Convenience!! :)
Well, to be fair... the Asgardians aren't known to ask for help, having claimed dominion over the Nine Realms. Even Thor was sort of hesitantly drafted into the Avengers, and he actually acknowledges mortal authority. As much as self-proclaimed gods do that sort of thing.
xpartingshot Fair enough about Asgardians going it alone out there. But helloooo Marvel - ALL realms are at stake, with an apparent focus/epicenter on earth, but Thor, who has no issue departing from the typical deity line, consults/informs no one with real power. Then, a giant alien spacecraft violently lands in freaking Greenwich, again on EARTH. This in a (Marvel) world of heightened sensitivity/fear after New York plus typical instant worldwide exposure, Yet again, ...crickets from anybody else. DUH!!!.(not you, Marvel) I'm afraid these producers are taking the assumption that we're all too goo goo eyed over effects to care about BASIC credibility, a bit too far.
Um if you arranged the avengers heroes like this : Black widow, Iron man, Tho, Captain america, Hulk/Hawkeye. It will spell (form the first letter in every name) B I T C H
harry mclarrson Thor was nothing more than a myth until he was banished to earth which was like a couple of decades after cap was frozen in ice as well :D
"Asgardians degrade humans as "mortals" but then the only dead people we see in this movie are Asgardians and dark elves.....Hell even with all the shit that was going on in London and a giant monster roaming through London everyone seems to be fine. Quite ironic"
Damit CinemaSins! After watching dozens of your sins vids, I now nitpick every little thing when watching a movie. And the worst part, when thinking of the sin its in your voice in my mind! It completely kills whatever epic feeling the current scene has. Sometimes, the little ding afterwards..
The power levels of this film were absolute bull crap first the big cursed guy smacks Thors hammer in another direction which should be impossible because you can't change the trajectory of objects heavier than what you can lift, then he proceeds to kick Thors ass but then you fast forward and Thor is capable of going toe to toe Malakith infused with ether which has no equal, does that mean the big cursed guy is stronger than Malakith? and then we have Malekith's death with makes no sense Thors punches and hits with Mjölnir capable of destroying planets don't affect Malekith but then he dies because a big ship falls on him? Why do the Avengers even bother when the strongest member of the group is outmatched by a falling space ship .
MHM "you cant change trajectory of objects heavier than you can lift" is the biggest bullshit of all time. any impact on moving object changes its trajectory. even an unstoppable force can be deflected. if someone throws a steel table at me and i push it from the side it will change its trajectory even tho im not capable of lifting a solid steel table. also mjölnir isnt necessarily capable of breaking worlds. thor has had plenty of hits on earth wherin it bareraly affected the ground. mjölnir's power isnt its weight but the fact you have to be "worthy" to carry it. thats why the hulk cant lift it despite hulk being able to lift more then thor.
I don't know if the hulk can lift more than thor if I remember correctly hulk's strongest feat is when he lifted an entire mountain from the ground which is pretty crazy however Thors strongest feat is lifting the Midgard Serpent (with a fishing pole) who's weight is equal to planet earth. But if Im going to talk about the object trajectory thing, it depends on the weight of the object. I don't know how much a steel table weighs but I know if a car were thrown at you, you definitely would not be able to move it's trajectory. And although you are 100% correct in the fact that Mjölnir isn't necessarily heavy but it's being worthy that enables you to lift it, doesn't change the fact that it's an immoveable object of infinite weight if you're not worthy. So basically if you can't even budge it when stationary how the hell do you move it when it's flying at you. This is Thor destroying a planet in one hit s989.photobucket.com/user/RageOfOlympus/media/Thor/Shattersplanet.jpg.html
MHM that planet is fucking smaller then king kai's planet from DBZ. also hulk's strength is practicly limitless. if you beat him down he gets angrier and that makes him way stronger. and im pretty sure hulk is stronger then thor seeing a strike of mjölnir with thor seriously trying to the face didnt do more then just throw the hulk across the room but when hulk punches thor super casually he flies out of the building. also the hulk has physicly overpowered thor so far that he grabbed mjölnir(while thor whas holding it) and jump dragged him off the planet. this is also the only time someone shows to be capable of moving mjölnir except thor. and for the entire "immovable object" that would mean that captain america wouldn't have been able to block mjölnir with his shield(which he proved he can) i mean if mjölnir whas immovable that would mean it would never stop flying untill thor grabs it again. which isnt the case because thor has dropped the hammer and then it should've fallen threw the ground like a hot knife threw butter. im pretty sure the entire "worthy" thing only applies to wielding it.
Rising_Star_ regardless of size Thor could most likely destroy the earth if he wanted to however doing that would sort of defeat the purpose of being guardian of Earth realm The whole "limitless!!!" strength because he just gets angrier always kinda bugged me because he has to have limits on anger there is a point of anger where you don't cross and that has to be his limit, he can't just get angrier and angrier until he becomes the One Above All right? Mjölnir sort of stops being an immovable object when its in the hands of Thor because you can move Thor and if you can move him with Mjölnir in his hands you can move Mjölnir, as Hulk and Red Hulk have shown. But when its out of his hands the only ones that can stop it are Thor, Beta ray Bill and Captain America as well as some other characters whose names I don't remember because they are worthy of the hammer.
I can't believe you left out a sin that said "A race of beings that have ray guns, ray cannons, ray shields, holographic projectors and the like are still using swords and spears and hammers as their main weapon of choice. And even if they have a blue glow to it that resembles Bilbo and Frodo's sword Sting whenever orcs are nearby to give it that extra sci-fi element, unless the Asgardians rip off Jedi Knights from Star Wars by moving so fast they can block bullets and blaster fire from ray guns, there's no way melee weapons will ever beat projectile ones." DING. :P
11:50 is that verizon's new 4G she is using? because my phone stops working if i go into a tunnel for like 5 seconds, she was in that cave for a good 5 minutes....
Should've been ' we interrupt this superhero movie to bring you Jumper'. Thats if anyone remembers that movie... probably not, but it made sense to me...
Iron Man couldn't have helped on Asguard or on Earth because he blew up all his suits in Iron Man 3. Guess they could still have called the rest of the Avengers though.
I think these are the kind of movies where the right mindset is that you simply sit down, switch off your brain and just enjoy the visuals and special effect without giving too much importance to the plot details ...
Bozo Clown Wasnt the first one practically the same thing though? I mean it was just a 2 hour advertisment for the avengers anyway and this one is a 2 hour advertisment for the avengers 2.
You forgot to mention the kamikaze ship scene crashing is totally a rip off of another Star Wars moment, one of the cinematic trailers to The Old Republic MMO.
you forgot how thor knew loki was disguising himself in prision after his mum dies, but at the end he didnt know it was loki disguising as his own father... wtf
Hate to defend this movie, but on that aspect, he knew because their mother was probably the only one Loki cared about, and he knows Loki wouldn't want show such a moment of weakness with Thor. I give that a pass.
What, no explanation of how Loki survived? He got stabbed through the chest. Don't say it was an illusion, whenever his or his mother's illusions get touched, they disappear. 6:16
So Thor's hammer can only be moved by the worthy. And the Kurse guy backhanded the hammer out of trajectory. That means the Kurse dude was worthy, right?
I mean, the conflict occurring between Thor and the Dark Elves only spent an hour at best on Earth, after which it entirely ended. That's a rather small window for response time for the other Avengers, who are all on another continent. I mean, Iron Man is in California, Captain America, Black Widow, and Nick Fury are in DC, Hawkeye is with his wife, which is somewhere in the Great Plains I'm guessing, and the Hulk is probably hiding out in some random Middle Eastern country.
No, marvel could totally make this crisis or any other crisis you see in the standalone movies an avengers crisis. The reason they don't? Money. It's highly profitable for them to make a sequel for each character, making nearly as much money on each standalone film as they would on an avengers movie. The disgruntled viewers who are upset they can't see iron man are an acceptable collateral; because those same viewers still bought a ticket to this movie. You can rationalize this plot hole through the fictional universe in any way you'd like, but the reality of the situation is that it just makes more sense financially for the studio to do things in this way.
+trenaareen1216 That's true from a real world perspective, but it's not a plot hole if it makes sense in-universe. I mean, you could argue that Marvel can make ANYTHING happen in these movies, and they can, so of course there will be real world reasons for things happening, but they did cover their asses with the short timeframe in this movie. Iron Man 3, not so much.
Katarina M. Basically, I think that people should stop trying to rationalize why the avengers aren't in every movie and just enjoy the standalones for what they are.

Fr, that scene had me laughing so hard!
Biggest sin in this movie is Jane Foster being called mortal yet everyone in Asgard can be killed like Thor's mum or like loads of soldiers.
That is however not the proper meaning of that word, is it? Immortal DOES mean you can't die in any way.
Maybe they have weapons that specialize in killing immortals.
they are not immortal once they reach adulthood they eat the golden apples to sustain their youth without this they'll die eventually
A difference between immortality and invincibility...............

Actually, the part where Loki turned into cap, that was Loki's voice. The director told him to mock cap. I saw it on some bonus features thing on FX
It was Loki's voice on the deleted scenes, where Loki wore the uniform and put on an American accent. The one in the movie is actually Chris Evans' voice.
that was Tom doing the scene so Chris would know how to act.
Completely unrelated, but Tom's American accent in the deleted version was FRICKING SPECTACULAR
Watch a few interviews, he's amazing at impressions.
CollectorMaster it doesn’t matter, because the characters like oden that he is later in the movie has their voice not Loki’s so that sin makes no sense

UA-cam has the shakes.
only video thats not working for me :(
I came back 20 mins later and it's still having issues... Won't load for 5 minutes and then only plays 5 secs at a time
EDIT: works in 360p and 1080p
youtube is a dick to your video *ZING*
also, youtube *ZING*
Yup refreshed some 20 times and it only plays at 1080p. Yeah.. my connection can't handle that.
It is loading slow and, if, after it starts playing, I skip ahead or go back, it freezes. However, after reloading twice, because it froze twice, I got through the video.
I just want a Loki movie, that's all I need Marvel
same
+suerafuls Saaaaaame! He's my favorite character in every movie he's in.
Yes!!! 9-9
That would make my life complete!
Well, every Thor movie has Loki and they're both protagonist/antagonist. Thats the closest it will get.
"The Aether is the new Tesseract"
Yeah, both are infinity stones. Each movie introduces new ones for the finale where all of them are combined in the gauntlet.
CinemaSins kind of implies they weren't aware of the infinity stones. The same ones introduced as early as the 70s in the Marvel universe.
Wait, did they even they that Tesseract is an infinity stone, and that there is more than one of them? Cuz I don't remember that. :<
If not, that explains why they didn't know it either, since they pay attention to the whole movie, cuz they gotta watch it more than once. :)
Grimy Screamer Oh, wait, they knew about the infinity stones. My bad. ^^'
Grimy Screamer
Watch Guardians of the Galaxy. They are explained in that movie.
I don't think the tesseract is an infinity stone.
Loki is the best part of these movies
Nah
I think the end of the movies are
Kat Denning is the best part of anything she's in.
Loki needs his own movie
Lily Moss-yerg No, gal, also you have the same name of that gay couple daughter
Wait, Frigga and Loki both die from being stabbed in the back, possibly even by the same person, I don't really remember, however only Frigga really dies. And even if Loki was able to save himself using his magic than Frigga should have been able to do so too as she taught Loki everything he knows.
OH SHOOT YOUR RIGHT!
Glad Loki is alive, ofc but YES, why??? Don't say it's 'her time to die' and she knew that, Loki needed her!
No I think Loki was using an illusion that wasn't really him that got stabbed cause otherwise you would be right
@@njay4399 But Frigga taught him that... and she uses the illusion trick with Jane Foster exactly on the same scene.... why doesn't she use an illusion trick for herself then ? Can we argue she wanted to go because she knew this would free Loki and bring the brothers back together ? I'm so sad, she was such an underrated character :'(
@@njay4399 I don’t think so. I think illusions cannot be touched and Thor did touch him... I think he’s just faking his death then killing the guard guy and pretend to be him to tell Odin that they found a body... but Loki (pretending to be the guard he killed) didn’t name who it was. Does my theory make any sense?
I love how very few of the sins were about Loki. Because he's just the goddamned best.
True that.
Of course 😊
Loki: You must be truly desperate to come to me for help, I mean Hulk, Iron man, Captain America, you could have called any of them yet you choose the one person you can't trust.
Thor: Actually now that I think about it you're right! *Walks away*
Loki: No, come back! I was only joking!
Should've removed a sin for Tom Hiddleston.
at least 5 sins for that matter
Ta-Daa
Add 10 sins for Tom Hiddleston.
And then he should have added 500 sins for how CRAP this movie is
YES, ALWAYS
"I see you managed to get your shirt off!" from Galaxy Quest -- PURE GOLD.
And are you telling me I cried at Loki's death for nothing?
its a superhero movie bruh... no one ever dies
David Brown Except Agent Coulson in The Avengers.
+David Brown And Hawkeye's shield. Hahaha I'm savage.
+VikanzaBananza I guess you're not familiar with Agents of Shield...
LordAntismurf A movie? I guess I'm not, either
Darcy and Loki are the reasons I like the Thor series. Too bad the two never actually met in either movie :(
anyone else just want a Thor movie not on earth. You know, just like an Asgardian apocalypse where thor fights a terrible enemy worthy of facing a city of warriors and gods. Oh wait Ragnarok...
+Sarah Price Now THAT is a plot I'd like to see xD
Prince of Lies But that's already gonna happen in Thor: Ragnarok
Jason Landry oh uhhhh
Jason Landry I guess you're happy now right?
Jason Landry heh
You missed a sin (and one that, as a Londoner, I am unable to look past) - when Thor is on a platform at Charing Cross, he asks a passenger how to get to Greenwich and she responds that it's three stops away on that train. There is no line on the Underground that connects the two.
Thought nobody else had noticed!
Am I the only one who saw the scene where the ship crashes into the palace and thought
"we now interrupt this Thor movie to bring you the opening to SWTOR"
Seriously, watch them side by side, they're so similar.
Wow your right. They are similar.
***** Star Wars The Old Republic
That made my day XSoulbound __
I used to play that game and they hella are similar.
The funeral scene for Frigga reminded me of Padme's funeral scene.
I KNOW. Whsn I first saw it, I thought "wait is this the opening of SWTOR?"
When Loki said "You're not my father!" all I thought about was the "You're not my dad!" vines . xD
You forgot the worst sin of all: that the Dark Elves are the new Stormtroopers when it comes to aiming.
6:14 "Doctor Who is that."
I bloody love you.
Me: Watches Avengers Endgame
My Brain: We interrupt this superhero movie to bring you thoughts of Cinema Sins
I started doing an impression of Cinema Sins by accident when I was watching Iron Man 2, and I did it for the whole movie. I have issues 😂
You forgot one. "We interrupt this superhero movie to bring you Portal."
"Yeah Doctor Who's That?"
I didn't even find out till after I saw the movie that the Dark Elf was Christopher Eccelston, 9th Doctor's my favorite
Same here.
Thank you for helping me make sense of that one.
Hm. This the second time C. Eccleston plays a badguy with dark powers, u know?
Ray Muniz and the greatest waste of an incredible actor in a long time.
BAHAHAHA IT ALL MAKES SENSE NOW I
I just found out recently that the Dark Elf leader is played by Christopher Eccleston, the former 9th Doctor of Doctor Who. Awesome!
Yeah Ikr?!! He also played Destro in G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra😊
Christine Tennant I knew it!
Lee Bradley Nice! Good job then. :)
Christine Tennant you could also just open your eyes during the credits. Or read.
Obliteradon I didn't watch the credits thank you very much and I did read online.
tbh I would've tacked on a few sins for the horrific inaccuracies I noticed in the scene where Thor rides the Underground:
-he goes in at Charing Cross, a station which has been closed since 1999
-he asks how long it would take him to get to North Greenwich, which would be impossible without multiple changes since Charing Cross is a terminus station
-the woman who he asks says "three stops" which would be wrong anyway as it's eight from Green Park, the station immediately preceding Charing Cross
youjustpreviewed. Wait what does tbh mean?
to be honest
youjustpreviewed To avoid a long walk he would want to go to to Cutty Sark station, which he would have to travel on the DLR for, leaving his best option with the Northern to Tottenham Court Road, then the Central to Bank and finally the DLR to Cutty Sark or doing the previous route to North Greenwich and swapping to the DLR just before... This totals at least 3 changes and 15-17 stops. I personally think a sin should be added for each extra stop.
Charing Cross is not closed and I don't think you know what a railway terminus is
It’s England isn’t it? So nobody gives a shit.
BONUS ROUND: An extra sin for every scene that did not include Loki...
Couldn't agree more. Everyone else is just a Loki screen-time thief.
Definitely. The most enjoyable parts of this film for me were Loki's reactions and commentary.
Umbraisnotamused LOKI NEEDS TO BE THE ONLY SURVIVOR OF THE INFINITY WAR COZ HES 2 F,ING AWESOME
YOU FORGOT THE SCENE WHERE LOKI CUT OFF THOR'S HAND
Buzz Mcfly Haha, I realize that. But now I just dissect movies and see obvious plot holes now.
I thought the movie sucked as well
yeah but when you think about it all movies are predictable I still thought it was pretty good also question do you follow the comics cause if so you know that they have to set up all of the infinity stones though I do find it stupid how the avengers come in when new York get threatened but when the entire universes gets threatened only thor comes
lol apparently Loki is invincible and will never die and even though I like his character his powers are so OP that it's impossible for anything bad to happen to him. Anyone agree?
(Sigh) infinity gems. Sorry for being a nerd but this movie sucks for portraying the gems as fucking well it doesn't matter.
Goodnite
Yes this and Iron Man 3 are tied for the worst Marvel movie of all time, thank god for The Winter Soldier.
People thought Thor 2 was better than Thor 1? Really?
Asgard was a big reason. it was much more expansive and fleshed out in the sequel.
I suppose it's all to do with personal preference. As a lover of all things fantasy and mythological, I prefered the dark world. We got a better look at Asgard and the 9 realms... plus there was like 50% more Loki haha :D
I didn't. Thor 2 is very decent but I still prefer the first one
it is easily
Dr. Famine, I agree
9:07 I think that was actually Tom Hiddleston/Loki imitating Chris Evans/Cap. He can do a pretty spot-on impression.
Nope, that was Chris Evans' voice in the movie.
its chris's voice
Idk if it was in the movie, but there is a bts clip where Tom and Chris are doing that scene and he does a Cap impression so they could get realistic timings as they walk between each column, if that makes sense.
Also, let's take a look at Frigg's funeral:
"We interrupt this movie to bring you Padme's funeral from Revenge of the Sith."
"Doctor Who is that?" Thank you. Just thank you
I was looking for this
I don't get it...
MafKees the actor who plays Malekith also plays the Doctor in the TV series Doctor Who
Holy shit, didn't recognize him xP
Also not the most memorable doctor imho.
+Ana Ghirbormean Which one?
2:44 It's not that the Aether perceived Odin as threatening, it's that _Jane_ perceived him as threatening, and the Aether responded to her emotions. It was the same thing with the cop earlier.
During the battle in london, you forgot to mention that a giant ogre monster thing was let loose and not referenced again, meaning its still out there wreaking havoc
It was mentioned in a post credits scene
Thomas Rosbottom
Yeah for like 3 seconds, it's still walking around free
You Missed The "Person Hits The Machine And Magically Makes It Work" Cliché
Is it sad that I find more entertaining from Darcy, a chick that has not even 10 minutes of scree time instead of Jane Foster?
Nosfonader87 Natalie comes off as cold sometimes. It’s great in roles like focused ballet dancer in Black Swan but I don’t find her relatable in the everyday Jane type roles where people are required to root for her character.
No. Jane sucks. I feel the same way DARCY IS KWEEN
Just is just really hot that's about it
it's because you don't have to deal with Darcy for a whole movie. She's annoying as fuck
@Six Paths Naruto I want Kat Dennings to be Power Girl for DC. She runs her own company and sometimes leader of the Justice Society. So Dennings would have a lot more to do.
"End credit scene introduces another bullsh*t artifact that we're going to have to worry about in future movies and will have vague, but extreme power"
He is aware that WAS the Aether right?!
"Who are you?"
"I'm the Doctor, by the way. Run for your life!"
15:44 Thats pretty trippy because the background people look almost exactly like the one from Wolf of wall street
Remember when CinemaSins was only about continuity errors and actor mistakes? Pepperidge Farms remembers.
You missed Loki would be excellent at CinemaSins
Also, how did the Dark Elves go into stasis for thousands of years and still have technology superior to that of Asgard?
Keeps loading and when the video finally plays, it loads every 5 seconds for a minute. Not my internet either :(
same here. Been watching the first 3 minutes for the last 20 minutes
Its the vid, dont worry, you aint the only one.
Mine doesnt even load
:''''(
Okay haha. Glad it's not on my end. Hopefully it gets fixed soon.
i thought i was the only one lol
Sin number 51 could've been " character falls off a cliff and there's a random thing ready to catch them" cliche
It's almost as if comics aren't even trying to be 100% accurate
avi tavalin yaaass
Wait for Thor:Ragnarok before we say there are no Enherji
avi tavalin also, you got this all from percy Jackson
FurReal Gaming also, I have a degree in Scandinavian History and Mythology. Fight me.
so pissed throughout this film about why Thor was able to touch Jane and all the others exploded to bits. what, was it true love or some shit? fuck that.
also that Darcy character is NOT GODDAMN FUNNY JESUS CHRIST
moiraine_damodred Maybe because he was Thor? He is one of the strongest Asgardians after all.
Steve Spud actually not really. just because one is dins favorite son doesn't mean there the most powerful.
With LOTR and the Hobbit, any non-movie information was irrelevant, so it shouldn't be any different with this.
so does this count all the vanir? or just the aesir? sure he was the strongest but not the most powerful. tyr was braver than him odin was wiser. strength doesn't mean all powerful.
and over all he was great and a very powerful god like all the Aesir and Vanir. but Marvel thor is very twisted from his original self. i mean the original thor was a red head and also scandinavian people are not in anyway british/austrailian or whatever. marvel doesn't make sense man. also he's the main character, also marvel doesn't give a crap about being consistent.
gingergamergirl98 It makes sense now thank you.
4:00 -- Now all we need is for him to say "I don't like sand."
Man, those "we interrupt this superhero movie to bring you" parts were gold! Love this one! Do Incredible Hulk next and the MCU videos will be complete! (except Winter Soldier, which only comes out in American theaters tomorrow, so... yeah.)
"we interrupt this movie to bring you Tangled" thought the same thing when i saw this... it even had the voice of Flynn Ryder present! lol
"He went somewhere he wasn't supposed to go to fight a guy he'd been told not to fight after his father had ordered the Bifrost close. You're not even TRYING anymore!"
It kills me that I didn't see that. Now I won't be able to unsee it.
Actually Tom HIddleston, as Im sure some of you may know, is very talented in impersonating Chirs Evan's voice. And well, impersonations in general. He's really good.
I'm disappointed that you didn't point out the fact that Thor put his million ton hammer on a coat hook!
The coat hook was worthy.
Im going to nit pick, but I swear the hammer isnt that heavy, its just held down by asgardian wuju that stops acting when thor picks it up because he is "worthy". So like no one would be able to take it off the coat hook but it could happily be placed there by thor
***** Exactly.
***** I prefer this explanation.
***** agree with you, the hammer is not million ton heavy, you just need to be "worthy" to wield it
9:53 Chainmail pillow wouldn't be comfortable. Why would you even make one? *DING*
I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS VIDEO FOR SO LONG
_THANK YOU_
When Thor took the train to Greenwich, the woman told him "Take this train, three stops." However, there is no direct underground train from Charing Cross to Greenwich, let alone in 3 stops.
As much as self-proclaimed gods do that sort of thing.
and also they put captain america so they already know that avengers exist but there isnt shield or anything
xpartingshot Fair enough about Asgardians going it alone out there.
During this time SHIELD is going through all this HYDRA shit.
8:10 That looks like the lightest helmet I have ever seen. Looks like he almost breaks it taking it off, OOPS, gotta be careful with my FAKE helmet.
i like how captain america is called the first avenger yet thor is super duper old!
harry mclarrson Because he was the first Avenger...He was the first to become part of the Avengers.
yeah guess your right
harry mclarrson Thor was nothing more than a myth until he was banished to earth which was like a couple of decades after cap was frozen in ice as well
:D
Masterkohatu
meh
Dimitri Sainis but The avengers wasn't created in WWII the program didn't start till Stark's time so technincally he's first
"The Aether will now be the new Tesseract", that is actually pretty damn accurate. I guess we will hear it for every Infinity Stone right?
"Asgardians degrade humans as "mortals" but then the only dead people we see in this movie are Asgardians and dark elves.....Hell even with all the shit that was going on in London and a giant monster roaming through London everyone seems to be fine. Quite ironic"
that sooooooo true
There's so much wrong with this movie that I "liked" the video without even watching it!
Damit CinemaSins! After watching dozens of your sins vids, I now nitpick every little thing when watching a movie. And the worst part, when thinking of the sin its in your voice in my mind! It completely kills whatever epic feeling the current scene has. Sometimes, the little ding afterwards..
I know that feel.
so im not the only one... phew
I had a couple of those watching Captain America 2 this weekend...
“All you need is a thing and a few other things” could be the tagline for literally every marvel movie
Do frozen next and don't hold back.
Rising_Star_ In the first Thor movie we had Low-Key being stopped from moving due to Mjolnir being on top of him, so it isnt about the weilding it.
Rising_Star_ regardless of size Thor could most likely destroy the earth if he wanted to however doing that would sort of defeat the purpose of being guardian of Earth realm
The whole "limitless!!!" strength because he just gets angrier always kinda bugged me because he has to have limits on anger there is a point of anger where you don't cross and that has to be his limit, he can't just get angrier and angrier until he becomes the One Above All right?
Mjölnir sort of stops being an immovable object when its in the hands of Thor because you can move Thor and if you can move him with Mjölnir in his hands you can move Mjölnir, as Hulk and Red Hulk have shown. But when its out of his hands the only ones that can stop it are Thor, Beta ray Bill and Captain America as well as some other characters whose names I don't remember because they are worthy of the hammer.
5:15 we interrupt Thor 2 to bring you Atlantis: The Lost Empire
me while watching Thor the dark world....
"I interrupt this movie to bring you Cinemasins"
I can't believe you left out a sin that said "A race of beings that have ray guns, ray cannons, ray shields, holographic projectors and the like are still using swords and spears and hammers as their main weapon of choice. And even if they have a blue glow to it that resembles Bilbo and Frodo's sword Sting whenever orcs are nearby to give it that extra sci-fi element, unless the Asgardians rip off Jedi Knights from Star Wars by moving so fast they can block bullets and blaster fire from ray guns, there's no way melee weapons will ever beat projectile ones." DING.
:P
Nice!
11:50 is that verizon's new 4G she is using? because my phone stops working if i go into a tunnel for like 5 seconds, she was in that cave for a good 5 minutes....
Hey! You got the video to play further than most of these people! Congrats. What's your secret?
CinemaSins pressed play lol
CinemaSins I never had an issue, It could be a specific area issue..
CinemaSins I had no problem except that youtube changed the format of the video player a bit...
Should've been ' we interrupt this superhero movie to bring you Jumper'. Thats if anyone remembers that movie... probably not, but it made sense to me...
I get what you're saying, and that joke would have fit, partly because that movie was super super lame.
“Before the birth of light, there was darkness”
*Every 60 seconds in Africa, A minute passes*
Major thing wrong with this movie- not enough Loki!!
Jessica Brown exactly!
Iron Man couldn't have helped on Asguard or on Earth because he blew up all his suits in Iron Man 3. Guess they could still have called the rest of the Avengers though.
I think these are the kind of movies where the right mindset is that you simply sit down, switch off your brain and just enjoy the visuals and special effect without giving too much importance to the plot details ...
well, you think wrong.
You may be right, given that this is apparently how these kinds of movies are written.
4:48 “Movie steals dialogue straight from my Natalie Portman fan-fiction without crediting me.”
👏 SLOW CLAP 👏
For me it´s clear: Thor 2 is a LOT better than the first movie, and even with all those sins, I think it´s a really good movie.
Bozo Clown
Wasnt the first one practically the same thing though? I mean it was just a 2 hour advertisment for the avengers anyway and this one is a 2 hour advertisment for the avengers 2.
You forgot to mention the kamikaze ship scene crashing is totally a rip off of another Star Wars moment, one of the cinematic trailers to The Old Republic MMO.
When thor uppercutted the rock guy at the end the "mortal combat finish him voice" should have played
Okay, the last line in your dubs at the end made me burst into laughter. I'm a huge Alan Rickman fan, and it was just too perfect!
"She will not survive the amount of energy surging within her" ...Wow...
you forgot how thor knew loki was disguising himself in prision after his mum dies, but at the end he didnt know it was loki disguising as his own father...
I was rooting for sif.
As in the boss from Dark Souls?
+Smoosh Maste XD

jerry branson thanks. english isn't my first laguage. thanks for correcting me
Katie Eugster lol my bad
Favorite quote, "Yeah, Doctor Who is that?!"
Everything wrong with UA-cam: Another error occured
nooooooooooooooooooooooooo i want to watch it lol
your voice is so soothing, but my favorite parts are when you crack up laughing from the idiocy of these movies XD
So Thor's hammer can only be moved by the worthy.
And the Kurse guy backhanded the hammer out of trajectory.
That means the Kurse dude was worthy, right?
+Nate Patterson Wielded, not moved. By your logic, Red Hulk is worthy, because he moved Mjolnir when it was in Thor's hand.
magneto could probably move it around cuz magnetics and stuff but not actually wield itz power.
StarWarFan I'm going to assume you know nothing about magnetism.
+The Adventures of Mitchman and Blackjack thors hammer is made of asgardian metal- uru somethin like that.
StarWarFan It's not magnetic.
You also have to remember that time works differently between the Realms
+trenaareen1216 That's true from a real world perspective, but it's not a plot hole if it makes sense in-universe. I mean, you could argue that Marvel can make ANYTHING happen in these movies, and they can, so of course there will be real world reasons for things happening, but they did cover their asses with the short timeframe in this movie. Iron Man 3, not so much.
***** You can't update consciousness. My programming is as advanced as it will ever get.
Katarina M. Basically, I think that people should stop trying to rationalize why the avengers aren't in every movie and just enjoy the standalones for what they are.
Remember when these videos were only like 3 minutes long?
Pepperidge Farm remembers...
Does that mean films are getting progressively worse? :P
Remember when movies didn't have so many sins?
The fact that they got Benicio Del Toro to play The Collector should be a sin in itself.
Is it weird that I'm happy Loki's king now?
He seems to be a better ruler than Odin for some reason...
Maybe it's his hotness ;)
+amber goodson Oh no! I'm really happy too! :)
Nctyabc -
XD
DiamondHeart
Most likely
Donelle Lee
I actually agree with that.
I don't get the "hot" thing. He always came off as sickly to me. Still a great character.
