I also like how they literally have bullet ants, which can deliver a sting so painful people say it feels like getting shot and just use regular ants for the entire movie.
I’m late, but just wanna point out that I think they used Bullet ants on the guards at the end

I actually like the idea that he _developed ant communication technology_ purely to spite the guy who came up with a derisive nickname for his scientific miracle.
Hank would do that.
If anything, that tech is even better than his shrinking tech...

The joke is the explanation...
It's called cynisism.
In fact, they sinned it for not explaining how he managed to control the insane amount of ants in the whole world
I know there great
Actually, they sinned the first one for being unrelated to shrinking, and the second one for being BS.
You forgot the following scene:

In the comics, Scott's daughter is dying of a disease and he steals the antman suit to steal the only drug that can save her.
Carter Pike thanks
You sure that's Antman? Sounds like Sandman.
WJZAV do t go off the movies. They didn't even get Sandman's origin close.
Carter Pike that ending tho
well are these the comics?
The suit makes atoms closer together, so how is it that a person can shrink to a size SMALLER than an atom???
The real question is how can he do that without creating a black hole? That much mass in a space smaller than an atom... It wouldn't end well for the earth.
+Charlie McSeeven A film theory!
And cut
+Some Guy it kinda wouldnt matter... a black hole that small wouldnt do anything for earth. It would disperse in microseconds.
Much like all the black holes that are formed when the hadron collider does its colliding... the black holes disappear extremely quickly as they lack the sufficient mass to stay together.
+Z Adel the space between electrons when the nucleus is blown up to the size of about a blueberry, is the size of a football field. bringing electrons closer to the nucleus and bringing atoms together overall would allow someone shrink to much much smaller than an atom.
+Otakahunt With the size that he shrinks to being smaller than quarks he would actually create a "viable" black hole. Destroying the planet.
Woah, oversimplification about job acquisition in there... It is REALLY hard to get full-time jobs doing skilled work, even with a degree.
Not to mention he has no concept of what prison can do to someone's resumè.
That part didn't sit right with me either. Even having a misdemeanor on your record can seriously affect job prospects. An ex con would be lucky to land a job at Baskin Robbins, regardless of the skills they have. It's wrong, but that's reality.
What if you had 3 degrees
I do wonder though whether he'd grab the interest of a tech company or three after the hacking work he did that caused him to make the news.
@@jerrysmith1445 I'd have to ask why you are looking for jobs rather than just collecting degrees while spending your life in college.
14:44 actually, fire ants literally do this in real life. They are light enough to use the water's surface tension to stay afloat, and forming such a structure can help them move from one place to another.
Also, the gaps between their bodies are so small that air is trapped between them and the ants on the bottom can breathe

Another sin: Ants are willing to die for each other and are _beyond_ loyal to fellow colony members. But they'll viciously tear apart any non-colony member ants. So does Hank constantly have to keep them from having their own tiny ant civil war?

How is he able to ride on the back of an ant? His mass stays the same when he shrinks so any ant he rides would be immediately crushed.
you do know ants can carry more than their body mass that's like a baby holding the average car
+Cameron Morr Hahahaha I know right. The science in this movie is so ridiculous its insulting to people's intelligence.
Ali Does Gaming The ant would be carrying around 90 kilos on it's back. And since his mass stays the same, he would be super dense, too. Yeah that ant is fucked.
james learing touche'
comedian416 Oh, I thought that you were joking.
There is a HUGE problem with the ending of the movie. The ant-man suit is only supposed to decrease the distance between atoms, not physically shrink anything. This would make it physically impossible to shrink "between the molecules" or "go subatomic."
* realization *
That's a damn good point.
There's also the matter of breathing. If you're smaller than a molecule, how exactly are you inhaling the oxygen molecules you need to live?
I'm dubious that you could inhale sufficient oxygen even when you're the size of an ant, let alone when you're bigger than the molecules of air you'd be inhaling.
+Virideon Maybe the suit has a small oxygen tank
It's possible, but if that was the case I'd have thought it would have been mentioned. I mean, 'you can only shrink for half an hour before dying of asphyxiation' is a rather important point. ;)
Also, if you only get smaller but your weight is left untouched, then becoming that small with the weight of an average man in titanium suit would mean that he is super dense, and act like a black hole, right?
It bugs me that he's supposed to maintain mass, and therefore weight, when he shrinks, but still rides on people's shoulders sometimes. No one would feel that much sudden weight on their shoulder and not notice.
Alfred Hitchcock In this instance he would still weigh the same, though. It's why he cracked the floor tiles when he fell in the bathroom the first time he shrunk, and why he dented the roof of the car before he returned to normal size. If he's causing that kind of damage then he should be noticeable when he stands on someone.
+Hannah Schrenk I like that you used the phrase "it bugs me" in reference to ant-man
+Hannah Schrenk lmao, it "bugs" you
+Hannah Schrenk Lets not forget Hank was carrying a real tank in his pocket the whole time, how much would that weigh? But even if we are only talking about mass, Ant man is super strong and resilient when shrunk because all of his mass is concentrated, then the reverse should be true, the bigger something gets the weaker it becomes, yet when Thomas the tank engine (made from cheap plastic) grows instead of crumpling like tissue paper, it bursts through a wall like it suddenly had the mass of a real train. Nope not being consistent here are we?
Gary Hodgkinson And the one ant that grows should have also lost a lot of density, though that might explain how it was able to live. A normal insect would die if it was that big because it doesn't have a skeleton to support its organs.
Being 10 times normal size would be super shitty in a world of modern weapons. Just a bigger target.
When people were using swords you'd be a god though.
Heh, it'd certainly explain Ares in God of War on the PS2 :)
My thoughts exactly. As a Marvel fan...i'm really starting to think this guy just want's to nit pick on every movie he could find.!! Most of the sins he picked out are'nt even sins at all.! He pointed them out because he does'nt like them or thinks it's not good enough or he just kept searching for even the tiniest mistakes every movie has,What a lousy way to make money.!!

9:27 Hank's right though. Comparing a metal suit with shrinking technology is two completely different levels. The former is a brilliant invention, the latter is revolutionary. Though Tony did come a bit closer to Pym's brilliance in Infinity War by making use of nanotechnology. Still, cannot compare with size alteration.
Pym oozes hubris.Pym particle utilization suits have no weapons. The Cross Tech was only defeated because Lang was 1 clever child & he had his tough as nails convict buddies helping him.
W/O going subatomic,
Ant-man is getting wasted
also you know tony started using nanotech because scott infiltrated his suit in civil war.
scott: hey i'm like an inch tall and in your suit
tony: wtf
tony, making a new suit, shields, and other cool shit with nanotech: lmao your move
tony is smarter if your saying hank is smarter because he can make shrinking tech that’s stupid tony’s objective is to make a strong weaponized suit not one that shrinks so don’t even think to compare hank to tony yes while hank is a genius he’s not on tony’s level especially since hank took decades to come up with this while tony made a functional flight and weaponized suit in like a month
@@imoorzy Yeah tony has the intelligence of an entire team of scientists being able to design and make new suits on the fly, ones that would take said team of scientists months at least to make. Tony is ridiculously smart he could probably find out how pym particles worked if he tried hard enough.

15:58 First they said everything kepps its mass when shrunk, and then he carries around a Tank as a keychain. seems legit
You could say the same about a 200 lb. man riding an ant.
100nitrog yes you could.
He’s really strong
Well, Ant man doesn't supposedly keep or gain weight. What happens is he keeps the force of a 200 lb man so he can punch with full size in one spot. Also adding on to what the other guy said, he rides ants, walk on guns while being held, and stand on someones shoulder. This is the same deal with the tank
j.tv the tank was small to start off with a low default mass
I think “balls resting on my chin” is the single greatest thing Jeremy has ever said.
Furry balls plopped menacingly on the table
I'm surprised you didn't mention how powerful the "not-quite perfected shrink gun" is. I mean that thing would be a superheroes worst nightmare.. I mean having the ability to one-shot ANYONE.. Hulk, Thor, Ironman, Wolverine, Deadpool etc etc and you could make a plastic version to kill Magneto with.
Just mass produce those things already.
Yeah, but why turn the Hulk into goo when you could make him tiny and extra strong? Why give your soldiers guns that instantly kill anything they hit and leave no corpse when you could make your soldiers tiny and have them ride ants?
Who else wants tiny Nazis over goo-ified people?
Also, love the name. Give Tippy Toes an extra nut for me.
Doreen Green and you can't do it to deadpool hulk or wolverine they all regenerate from just a tiny bit of Dana and the blob has dna
"Hulk" I love the fact that you think he regenerates but umm.... you know I haven't even pointed out that you spelled DNA wrong.
Robert Cambron I would point out how dumb you are but I don't wanna make you cry
Btw he does regenerate look it up
deadpool can regenerate from a single cell so actually it can't kill him.
How did you miss the giant bogus science plothole? Antman's shrinking mechanics are based around moving the atoms in his body closer together, giving the illusion of being smaller while maintaining the same mass and structure. This means he can never be smaller than an atom, or exist in the space between atoms, because the atoms in his body never actually shrink, they just get closer together.
A more easier plot hole, if any man mantein his same mass and weight, how the fuck pim was able to carry around a fucking tank in his pocket
+TheMadisonMachine Because the initial mechanic as presented is ALSO a load of waffle, so them just making up quantum mechanics is pretty much to be expected.
True
+TheMadisonMachine It's a comic book movie. You could argue Gamma radiation would in fact kill someone, there is no God of Thunder with a magical hammer, there is not a magical formula to make someone bigger and stronger, and able to survive froze for 70 years and on and on. Stop the nitpicking. Not based on "real" science.
Tomnickles when you start to explain things in your movie based on how science works in there you can't come with the explanation of is a comic book movie
#80-81: Hank was absolutely right by not telling Hope what happened to her mother. You cannot tell a 7 year old child that her mother is in another dimension, possibly dead or possibly suffering unimaginably. In order to grow up mentally healthy, girl needed to mourn her mother and move on, and not think every second "is my mommy in pain and alone right now?". Hank, on another hand, continued to fight and search for a way to reach his wife and spend all his time and effort on trying to save her. A chance to save his wife and Hope's mother was more important than raising Hope himself.
You can tell a 7 year old that her mother died it was probably just so she didn’t know her mother was the wasp and he was ant man
Here's my gripe. I know not everyone can look like Scarlett Johanson pretty but I don't think Hope looks very good. I mean it's a movie so I thought actors/actresses use a ton of make up, she looks kind of wrinkly to be Scott's interest. I love the Garret Morris cameo. It is a reference to a really obscure SNL skit from when Margot Kidder hosted after Superman came out. The skit was Superman (Bill Murray) and Lois Lane (Kidder) are hosting a party for superheroes and their wives and Garret Morris plays Ant Man and is made fun of by the other heroes for his powers. Super obscure reference that only die hard classic AND fans like my father would know. And since he raised me on the golden age of AN, he and I laughed hysterically in the theater at such a subtle reference that goes over most people's heads. @@kirbydude2523 what is that?
@@kirbydude2523 I mean not just that, but the fact that ant man is able to punch with the strength of a full size man when he's tiny, pretty much confirms that the shrinking and enlarging doesn't make you stronger. It basically just alters your density. So being huge wouldn't make you super strong.
But on the other hand all the shrunk vehicles Pym has been carrying around should be the weight of a normal car, so there isn't really any consistency.
@@Yapity111 Pym Particles are literally magic. There have been multiple differing explanations of what they do and how they work, and they seem to be interchangeable for whatever the plot needs. The most "realistic" explanation behind pym particles would be that they reduce the amount of space in between the atoms of any given object, increasing its density and preserving its mass, but that makes no sense for various reasons(Scott/Pym wouldn't be able to get on ants while shrunk, enlarging/shrinking small/big things means that they are still heavy/light. The list goes on honestly)

+SuperHarryFan Doesn't Marvel do that in nearly ALL their movies? Ruin character driven moments with stupid jokes for the kids?
The thing that kinda bothered me was...why did everyone treat him like a career criminal mastermind? Maybe I just missed something, but wasn't it rather heavily implied he did the ONE job burglarizing his former company, for which he got caught?
Plus that was just half hacking the company's bank account and half driving his boss' car into his pool.
Yet his friends treat him like he's the best thief ever and his wife and her cop husband treat him like he has done a lifetime of these heists to the point that it's a pattern with him.
Yeah but when you do one job that involves burgulary, stealing money from a multimillion dollar corporation. Going through the private files of everyone who did business there. It's more like he did like 5 crimes.
I know! What kind of friend makes their friend out to be amazing and heroic!?

I don't get it. If the suit makes you small by shrinking the space between atoms, how in the world could he go subatomic? Just the empty space shrinks. The atoms remain the same size, and that size is bigger than subatomic, obviously. Also, if you could make something that dense to where the size is so much smaller than normal, wouldn't the atoms collide with each other and be radioactive? It's more likely to blow up like an atom bomb than to shrink size.
Edit: As some have rightly pointed out, the suit and its wearer could alternatively become a black hole from the sheer density of it.
soooo if this were realistic they could drop someone ready to die and they could blow the battlefield
+thebagelbomb Actually, scientifically once mass reaches a certain density it becomes a black hole.
+thebagelbomb THANK YOU ! This bugged me every time they spoke about going subatomic I was wondering how as a group of atoms would still be larger than one, no matter of the space between them.
There is actually an explanation to this, and it comes in 2 parts:
1) Atoms aren't solid. They're literally 99.99% empty space. If the nucleus of an atom was the size of a pinprick and was placed in the center of a football field, the electrons orbiting the atom would literally be so far out that they'd be in the stands. The entirety of the field is just empty space. There's a LOT of space in a single atom, they aren't solid structures.
2) It's just a movie.
Obviously this movie isn't scientifically sound, but not for the reason you mentioned, for an entirely different reason. When you compress the mass of a human until it's so dense that it's subatomic, it gets compressed into a black hole. Now, if you know a LITTLE bit about black holes but not a lot, you might think this isn't that big a deal, because it's just a small black hole, not a big one, but the reason it's so dangerous is BECAUSE it's so small.
As most people know, black holes get bigger by sucking in the matter around them, but what most don't know (or don't fully understand) is how they get smaller. Black holes release their energy through a process called "Hawking Radiation", and the smaller a black hole is, the faster and more violent this process becomes. While the black hole created by Scott might not be massive enough to suck up the Earth (it actually probably would be massive enough to suck up the Earth, but I'm too lazy to do the math right now to check), it would at least irradiate the Earth when it dissipates away because, like I said, the Hawking Radiation gets pretty violent when the black hole gets really small.
PokemonTom09 I didn't thought about the empty space in the atoms. And don't worry it didn't prevent me from enjoying the movie !
Wouldn't a 180 lbs man shrinking to the size of a quark be...idk, potentially catastrophic?
+Randy “Macho Man” Savage yup. black hole that instantly evaporates, touring all 180 lbs of him into energy. the tsar bomb didn't even convert a pound of matter.
+TheToric oye
+TheToric
In other words, it would result in something close to a 4000 megaton explosion. Which would look something like this: nuclearsecrecy.com/nukemap/classic/?lat=37.756450878452306&lng=-122.44551662384032&zm=6&kt=4000000
+Randy “Macho Man” Savage Actually, the black hole that a person would/could make by shrinking to such a size wouldn't really be able to grow because it was so small. The distance between itself and things that can fall into the sphere are, at that size, very large by comparison. Pretty sure you could almost step on it and not even know it was there.
Laughing Bandit Yeah but the fact that you are converting so much mass into pure energy would probably cause a rapid expansion similar to a miniature supernova.
26 second Marvel logo? HAAA! That's short compared to our now *49 second* Marvel Studio logo. That's forgiving the black screen.
God ikr. It’s so scummy for a company to take up half a minute to a minute giving themselves recognition in a film that’s 1-2 hours long. Oh no.

I'm surprised there was no "Evangeline Lily isn't my girlfriend in this scene"
+Joshua Cecil Needs no implying...
You missed one sin, the tech makes things size shrink but the weight stays the same, how did hank carry a 30 ton tank in his pocket, how did the ants carry Scott etc. ?
no, the weight doesn't stay the same. i thought that too for a bit, but i was told that's not actually true.
he just gains strength many times his size, like an ant.
+nonespark no his weight stays the same he dosent get stronger
the movie only says that it shrinks the distance between atoms, not that it changes the mass of the atoms
+nonespark If he had the proportional strength of an ant, whilst being the size of an ant . . . can you see the problem? He'd literally have the strength of an ant.
Although, this sort of thing is a misconception anyway. It's less about insects being really strong and more a consequence of how physics works with very small/light objects and creatures.
Regardless, there's another problem here. Let's say that you have an ant-sized guy who is really heavy for his size, and he hurls himself at a security guard. He's not going to just punch the guy back. He's going to punch *right through him*. Ant Man is basically a self-propelled bullet.
+darius harmon He climbed on Luis's shoulder though, he would have felt Scott on him for sure. XD

7:35 no there are trillions of ants on earth alone, or more.
14:45 heres my answer to your question: 0 ants have died cuz the ants are capable of using their hair to catch tiny bubbles of air to breathe>
CogitoErgoCogitoSum thanks for the feedback
'on earth alone' ....Interesting.
Plus they can hold their breath for a long time. Not constantly replicating their cells is the source of a lot of insect superpowers, but also one weakness (if they're successfully wounded, they're done for. death by dehydration)
But yeah that is a real thing ants do. Raft!
@@KairuHakubi Why death by dehydration?
because they're tiny. it's a physics thing, you know how things dry out faster if they're thinner or split up into more pieces with more surface area? If you scratch a bug's shell, it's gonna die. That's why you sprinkle borax around to kill bugs. And like I was saying, they don't replicate cells often, only around molting time, so that wound's not going to close up in a timely fashion like ours would.
#111. Why didn't he expand his squishy human body inside a reinforced security container to break it ; instead of breaking said security container's wall by expanding it????
Unless, Ant-Man has the same super-strength/durability as Thor, Hulk or the Ironman suit; expanding to larger than the super-strong, see-through vault only has one outcome. Ant-Man growing until the container looks like it's filled with human-sausage.
When the ants made a raft in the tunnel none of them should have died because they're fire ants and they do that irl and it works.
Also the tank on key chain should have been as heavy as an actual tank.
+Trayton Houck I was looking for this comment! They rotate so that no single ant stays underwater long enough to drown.
atomicmrpelly I'm glad you found this comment.
+atomicmrpelly whoa that's so cool!!!
+Trayton Houck And the enlarged ant probably shouldn't be able to live.. And it should just float away along with the train, because of low density!
The bald guy in this film would make a good Lex Luthor
+TheBigKing0 I think he'd have to dial down the over-the-top crazy from the guy just a teensy bit. I feel like Lex is usually more controlled. Once he got mad/started losing the battle though, he could be more like Cross from this movie
+Joel Sweeney He also played Hemingway in Midnight in Paris where he had a great, subtle performance, so there's that. Anyway, better than Eisenberg IMO.
He also played that addicted guy in House of Cards
Tom Smith I haven't seen it, so I was just going offo f his performance in this movie, my bad. Just about any one would be better than Eisenberg
a good lex luther is like a dime a freakin dozen, why Isenberg was cast for the role I'll never know.
10:10 This is very hard, considering you would need perfect air conditions, very precise jumps, shrinking at a precise time, and then emerging big right after. Plus he needs to run and then jump into such a small hole.
Well it wasn't my favourite comic book adaptation of 2015 where a hero in a red suit fights a villain in a yellow suit with essentially the same skill set while a Latino steals the show, but it was pretty damn fun

For sin #81, he was trying to protect her from the anguish of knowing that her mom is not really dead but lost somewhere in the quantum realm and that Hope would be helpless to rescue her. Something that he's been suffering with for years.
This movie sums up my house in the spring. Ants.
14:48
Fire ants have oxygen barriers around themselves.
SWI Do ants even fly?
Tyler Sprouse they do fly actually. You know how ants have queens? Well they also have princesses that have wings. When the princess grows enough to mate she flies away to create her own colony where she then loses her wings and becomes a queen.
Why dose he sin the movie when a character "would be great at cinemasins"? Is he afraid of being replaced?
Gus King this comment would be great at CinemaSins
Gus King he’s saying the characters shouldn’t be self aware about the own flaws in the movie
little lionman yet he's said it about Deadpool, who A) is very much supposed to be that self-aware, and B) was taking the piss on the Taken series at the tims.
Slash Kub, he then removed that sin at the end, with the "One sin off for every time Deadpool does our job for us"
*dose*
The worst mistake that cinemasins once again failed to spot is when there is breach in the Avengers Base, I mean is there seriously a breach whenever an ant/insect pass through the border!?
+Calven Ng Avengers should have build up a Wall around America...I mean their base.

No. Ant-Man still had human mass so it's equivalent to a regular sized man falling on the roof.
+Matthew H Why?
there are lasers that detect ants, sends cleaning bots,
ant-man would have been tracked by Jarvis if he zoomed in with cameras
Hey, fire ants have a way with water and can survive while floating in a mass grouping, and have been seen crawling under the water solo exploring for a short time. They have an awesome way of interlocking with each other that creates surface tension air bubbles around them, their tiny hairs probably aid in this as well.
you guys do realize that if someone that small with the same mass were punching a regular sized human, it would have more force than a bullet, and would most likely be shredding through their skin
+Fuppy Ko yeah that's why he had that whole "learning how to punch" scene with Hope. So he could learn to manage his strength to avoid killing people. They addressed this already.
+jonathan nguyen but he'd still stab through them, he has a small surface area, so he'd still be punching as hard as getting stabbed with a screw driver.
It was a figure of speech, genius. *facepalm*
+Fuppy Ko what about the keychain tank xD
+Fuppy Ko The movie talked about that in the "control your punches" scene.

Sin 1: this could have been directed by Edgar Wright
Ding
Wait if he's still the same weight as a regular human when he's tiny, how did he not COMPLETELY CRUSH the ants when he's riding on them? Do I care? Yes.
Ants can carry 10x their weight. Carrying Scott was a big deal.
Christian Clark Ants weigh like 5 grams. They would never be able to carry Scott. Who probably weighs about 150 pounds.
not to mention the keyring tank 😒😂😂
NO Comicbook science
I haven't seen this movie, so I don't know if it's explicitly explained that he weighs the same no matter the size, but if not, then he WOULDN'T weigh the same. The density of materials would be the same, and reducing the volume makes the weight decrease proportionally
Frank-Flushing😂😂😂
JJRicks Studios I laughed so hard
Some bonus, tank related sins:
- The tank as shown in the vintage Ant-man film is a T-34-85, which was pretty much only used during WW2, when the US was allied with the Russians. The Cold War only started after it's replacement, the T-54 was already mass produced. There should be no reason why Ant-man was attacking people armed with a T-34-85 at any point.
-How did he get the tank? Did he just feel like taking it while assaulting the base? Did he shrink it, grow back to full size and carry it away?
- If the shrinking technology keeps the mass the same, how did Pym carry around a roughly 32 ton tank in his pocket for 70 years?
- Also, how did he avoid damaging it? It's not like it was locked in a safe or anything, it's on his keychain. If he dropped that once, the tank would be totaled.
- Tanks, even fairly reliable ones like the T-34-85 require a lot of maintenance to stay functional. So either Pym knows a guy who carries spare parts for obsolete WW2 vintage tanks, or that tank isn't doing anything but breaking down after going back to full size
-How did the tank have enough run-up to break through the window at that speed? Does Pymtech have hallways capable of containing a T-34-85?
-Tank or no tank, that fall will kill the Pyms. It's not like it's a car, with airbags and crumple zones designed to protect it's occupants, it's a soviet made, cast iron tank. Even a one story fall would have killed everyone inside easily.
Yah it was a cool scene but God they put zero for thought into it.
+Aegis270 T-34-85 tanks were not discarded right after the WWII ended, some comunist-block countries used them till 80' as regular army tanks, only later using them as training vehicles.
Taken from the wiki- "Widely exported following the war, in 1996, T-34 variants were still in service in at least 27 countries."
nowhere in the movie it claims that the people with the T-34-85 were russians, and even if it did it could still pass.
I agree with the fact that there is no way he could have a tank in his keychain and the jump sequence, no way a T-34-85 could have jumped like that, even if he had all the run-up distance. And the fall, if not breaking their necks outright, they would never just walk out of it like nothing. Maybe he customized the tank a little? it wasn't in the movie so probably not, but it would make sense to improve it and not just carry it around for years.
And yea, he could have taken it after cleaning some random base, if you discard the weight problem, it's actualy a handy thing to have. And the tank wouldn't be totaled if he droped it, it's stil a 32 ton tank. it would break the floor ... a lot.
Also, getting parts for T-34-85s is not that difficult, there are a lot of WWII reenactment groups with functional T-34s, who run them a couple of times every year, so they probably have parts from somewhere.
The only other problem I see is that how the hell the tank has fuel still? if he didn't bring it back to full size every now and then, which is not stated nor shown in the movie at any point, and refueled it, there's no way the fuel wouldn't leak or something after years of just being a keychain.
Glandolin That's true, some were given to satellite states, I overlooked that.
However, I don't think he could have just taken the tank. To carry it back with him, he'd have to go back to full size, shrink the tank, and carry it back with him. Considering how covert the operations were (What with no-one being certain if there was a even a person behind these attack and all), I don't see him deciding to walk around full-sized in his Ant-Man suit just to carry out a tank as nothing more than a souvenir.
Also, since the tank shrunk, I assumed that meant that distances grew in relation to it, ala "Honey, I Shrunk The Kids". So a simple meter drop would be equivalent to a much higher drop when small, due to the size difference. If that's the case, any large drop would have totaled the tank. It may be built like a tank, but tanks were never designed to be thrown around. The damage it would have taken just from being dropped would have been significant.
Aegis270 I think some were in use even by the Red Army, maybe not stationed in Germany/near the border with the west, but as second line support? I don't think he was exactly taking on a checkpoint in Berlin in that one, more like a covert op somewhere deeper in Russia, where they had no need to put T-54s but just wanted some tanks just in case.
And, well he was called Ant-man even back then, so maybe he had the ants on his side, meaning they could have extracted the tank? if they can carry an 80kg man in their backs, physics apparently go out the window, so what the hell, they could as well carry tanks.
or he simply slaughtered everyone in a random base and then took their tank because fuck you commies.
I don't think I've seen Honey I shrunk the Kids or at least I can't remember it, but if a meter drop would be a much higher one, how did Scott survive droping from the ceiling to the party downstairs? if the distances worked that way, it would be equivalent to what? a couple dozens of meters? if he survived that, then the tank could survive being dropped too. Not realistically, it distances worked that way, he would have died from the drop, but in the Avengers universe?
+Aegis270 Froget about not being able to carry it, that tank being so dense should have collapsed under it's own gravity into a twisted mess and sunk into the planet's core.
AHHH!!! You never talked about how ant man “shrunk between the molecules” so he could get inside the suit; but the next scene shows him inside the suit large enough to cut the wires while he is still shrinking. It makes no sense!
Another sin: The entire premise of his shrinking is based on the fact that the space between his atoms get smaller. So, when he is sub-atomic, how can the space between his atoms get smaller if he is smaller than atoms. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Ant-man did say that he might not survive if he went giant. I can't remember the exact term he used but he said something along the lines that it would be really dangerous.
***** True yeah. So it's either that they made some new way to do it or Marvel just didn't think about it. Probably the latter
you win a cookie
I am not a physics expert but wouldn't the tank in his pocket wheigh just as much as a real sized tank, since the weight would not change?

“Well, you fought.. falcon, who is an avenger, but more in the way that Hawkeye is an avenger” best line
@Six Paths Naruto 'Jeremy' only has one 'r'
@Six Paths Naruto these sins are based on the movies and the movies alone. In the movies, both Falcon and Hawkeye are very weak avengers who get little screen time.
@@margaretdowling4200 weak? Without Falcon, Cap would have been in deep shit in Winter Soldier. Hawkeye was literally going to sacrifice hims life in endgame for the soul stone. They are very underrated and I'm excited for the Hawkeye show coming up.
@@margaretdowling4200 very weak is kind of an overstatement, considering one can hit 18 shots in a full round of golf, and the other can dodge gun fire.
@@margaretdowling4200 They are not weak at all. Hawkeye would beat Steve in a fight. Steve has no real or true strength. Also people forget to realize that Hawkeye is an original avenger who saved a lot of people and fought off aliens while never having a suit or super serum to protect him. He may not be the strongest but he is the bravest
Hank Pym not being Ant-Man should be at least 50 sins.
ikr but at least its not as bad as i thought it was before i went to see the movie (thinking hank was gonna be the villain)
Everyone hated the character because he was a "wife beater".
hank wasn't the only one to be ant man. they didn't want to do that story
Tho hank wouldnt be good in the movie as a hero cause he was a wife beater he loved his wife but he beat her he stopped after but it still isnt good enough what with all these movies being "sexist" all the time
Didn't he only hit his wife once?
Some entomology for you:
Ants work in a colony mostly controlled by pheromones and other chemical signatures. So IF you had a device that could replicate certain olfactory stimuli, it is plausible you could get them to behave the way you want. But that technology is basically wifi mind control (convincing the ants that they sense something that's not really there) from a hearing aid that seems to have almost infinite range.
Groups of ants can create floating rafts by latching together and creating an are pocket around them with the help of tiny hairs on their bodies. This bug ball can actually be fully submerged without popping this bubble, and they'll just bobb back up to the surface.
Movie was good. It just wasn't too...deep. I mean, this kind of movie doesn't have to be deep but it seemed like, even for a Marvel movie, this one was really light on the everything.
+Dominic Lira Guardians of the Galaxy were even more light and most people enjoyed it. But I agree, I myself didn't like Guardians for the same reason.
I don't know man this movie indeed was very light and wasn't deep but I enjoyed more this movie that other marvel movies it was just the right tone for the movie
+Dominic Lira i prefer movies like guardians or antman to for instance the second avengers because that was just an overkill. i thought it was nice to have a little break from the 'over-the-top-ness' and just to enjoy the light hearted feel of those too.
and the humor wasn't too bad either:D i'm really looking forward to deadpool:D

Aren't you supposed to weigh the same when you're small, so that guy can carry the weight of a tank...
that duck tho
Checkcthe comics for a better explanation. 98-99% of the mass goes into an alternate dimension while in a shrunken state. The way the movie explains it it doesn't make sense. Or, the running on a gun scene without the weight pushing it down on the first step.
1% of 32 t (tank is a T-34/85, from the looks of it) is still too much for Hank to carry. But, who cares? The movie is fun enough, so I will give this plotholes a pass.
Marvel in a nutshell
Richardsen exactly it’s a universe where magic and superpowered humans exist, so the only rule breaking that should matter are the ones the movies make themselves. The movie said it was okay so it’s okay with me.
I get the sense that every memorable moment from this film was an Edgar Wright idea: eg. the Thomas Tank sequence, the Luis ventriloquising montages...and that's about it.
what about the fact that the tank would weigh pym down so he can't carry his keys? Same mass, same weight, different density.
+Alec Villas not to mention toy keychain tanks arent hollow
+K Cheng hey shitface it was a real tank shrunk down not a toy
You have a point, however I think it was a keychain because you can see the tank dragging a chain behind it. Try watching the scene again.
+K Cheng I don't know if you can think with a brain but he probably attached the chain to a real tank so that he could put it on his keys
Again, I guess you have a point. No need for the insults though. It just expresses how insecure you are..
For sin 101, the ants aren't dying, they take turns going down like how a real red ant colony does it when they want to go across a body of water. -1
The suit only changes the size, not the weight. The tank should not have been able to destroy the building, or if it was already large when it was shrunken (I think that's the right word), then how the hell was it on his pants?
And the Thomas The Train, how did it crush a police car?
+Gavin McLaurin I know it sounds retarded, but i think it works like this. When they make stuff smaller it has the same mass, when they make it bigger it gains mass. Its kind of inconsistent throughout the film though.
Pixel Spank Is there something in the movie that said that?
Not that I remember.
Pixel Spank It really doesn't make much sense, because if Scott shrank, he shouldn't be able to ride on ants.

Okay, another sin: The ants stopped a Glock's hammer... WAIT! GLOCKS DON'T HAVE EXTERNAL HAMMERS!
André Luiz Agra I have actually managed to consistently jam a clock
I didn't understand what you were saying at first but now that I'm really looking at it, Glocks don't have external hammers.
Oh my gosh the picture at the end for the final sin tally I can’t--
Making humans 10 times larger isn't really a good thing for a soldier on the battlefield. For one thing the enemy can see you coming a mile away, and shoot you with a rocket launcher for good measure since you make one amazing target. Making them so small the enemy can't see you coming while still retaining your mass in order to hit with concentrated force is more practical and effective, that's a real combat advantage.
Also, don't diss Flacon or Hawkeye. They're more than dangerous enough. I know it's a common joke to riff on Hawkeye for just having a bow and arrow and no superpowers. But having read the comics and watching the movies, that's all Hawkeye needs to be awesome.
Charles The Handsome and Brave Except you're not as tough as Godzilla and a good RPG, grenade launcher, or tank will do lasting damage.
And your bones will snap.
hawkeye kind of has a super power. he has enhanced targeting so he can shoot better and aim better, and in the comics hawkeye is a complete badass.
Liam Goodwin That's more just having naturally better eyesight and years of training, which goes a long way in superhero universes.
Thomas Esquiere Not really, he's shown many times he's capable enough to fight alongside a super soldier, a rage monster and a God. He's the only one to take down Scarlet Witch, he took down God knows how many Ultrons and Chutari, and sent Loki flying several blocks.
9:07 They actually did a good job of explaining why Hank doesn't want to call the Avengers. He doesn't trust SHIELD because of how they treated him 25 years earlier when they tried to steal his technology, plus they were revealed to have been infiltrated by Hydra for decades in Captain America: The Winter Soldier. With recent MCU world events being what they are with Ultron having just tried to destroy the world due to Stark and Banner's reckless use of technology he's not exactly willing to risk someone getting their hands on the Pym Particle and abusing it.
No sin for Ant-Man being small yet still weighing 200 lb but a tank being small not weighing several tons?
Crimson Wolf Wasn’t the tank originally small and he enlarged it?
no
If he weighed 200 lbs, he wouldn't be able to ride ants. You have to overlook a lot of stuff to enjoy this movie.
Oh you know... science, particles, stuff...
Well, Ant man doesn't supposedly keep or gain weight. What happens is he keeps the force of a 200 lb man so he can punch with full size in one spot. Also adding on to what the other guy said, he rides ants, walk on guns while being held, and stand on someones shoulder.
This movie blantantly violates the Square Cube law AND the 3rd law of thermodynamics at the SAME TIME
