This track has KILLER sound....its very very clear on my system.
Thanks for continuing with this series.
Flood & Fidler Your very welcome, I hope you enjoy this one too😎
thesoundtestroom Just finished it. Love A & B but for me B edged it.
Yeah, B has a lot more of a mellow tone which I think suits the track better
Left out the most important feature. Exporting the mastered file, tags, etc
that's what sequoia is for ; )
Good video but it's annoying that you were bypassing the whole plugin chain to audition the changes you made in one effect when you could just bypass the individual effect(S)/plugin. Plus I feel you should have kept the limiter at UNITY GAIN, so it does not get crazy loud when you bypass.
what is the name of the software that has the box around it with the plugins?
Interesting example. What do you have to lufs at? And is it ok to upload a track to the streaming platforms under -14 lufs?
I generally try to stay around -14 LUFS at the loudest part of the track when I’m mastering anything, you can go lower or louder and still upload, however if you go too much louder than -14 LUFS then most streaming services, like BandCamp and UA-cam will, apply their own compression to the file and that can take away some of the original tracks dynamic range.
@@TheSoundTestRoom thank you for your response.
why are you adding a reverb to someones stereo mix?
Why not?
@@gillihansmobilewelding Mastering doesn't involve adding reverb,
@@chrisbraddock9167 Haha, it happens all the time hero
Ronnie Davis. Even though it maybe obvious I can't find a T-Racks 5 tutorial which explains what to do after you've finished adding the pluggins. How does one send it to the desktop sounding big? What to click on? Do you just click export and that's it?
Yes, you just hit Export when you are finished and then you can put it wherever you like
I remember using t racks 1. Something lmao then tried to use t racks 3 and it’s near melted my cpu and ram 😂😂😂
Cool video! Tht piano kinda reminded me linkin park. Cool tune btw!
why are you boosting the stereo imaging of the low end?
Why not?
The link to listen doesn't work..... really want to listen to the full
Spidericemidas iOS Music Producer I really want to listen it's lit😭😭😭😭😭
Doug, Have you used any iOS mastering apps that you liked?
Would you use the same template throughout an album or make each track individual?
Great question and yes I pretty much would use the same template for a whole album, I do make some minor adjustments to each track but in the end I want it all to be the same level and the same feel, in fact you can assemble the whole album inside T-Racks, set the gabs, running order etc etc
thesoundtestroom Thanks, that is what I thought. One more question - the stereo wav i create to load into T Racks - should I go for an average level of around -6db to give me some mastering headroom?
So, I just got started learning about mastering. I want to know a couple things. I understand that -6dB in headroom is ideal. I also learned that a bit lower than that, around -8 or -10 is also acceptable to be able to master comfortably. I did also want to ask some questions from people that are more mastering friendly than I am. I wanted to know the reason behind distortion? I seem to get a hiss of distortion here and there. My track is never screaming and clipping, it’s just certain spots. I go back to the mix and I fix things, and come back to the mastering to find that the levels that were clipping are now too low and inaudible. I know this probably sounds stupid, but I really want to learn the key to mastering. I know the first thing is a good mix, which I try my best to do. I pan, use EQ to clear out dirty or clashing frequencies, compress only when needed, don’t overcompress, and I always make sure that effects such as reverb and delay are using according to each track, I don’t use the same reverb preset for two different types of track. I hear people doing loud, wide and huge masters with only software, such as UAD and T Racks, and Logic and Pro Tools etc. . But other people tell me that in order to get that real sound there has to be some hardware involved. Can someone, anyone help? I’m open to all criticism. Note: I’ve always been a composer and songwriter and have arranged music for the past 5 years, but I just now want to learn to do better mixing and mastering for myself. Like I said, open to all comments and all critique, I need all the advice I can get.
Is it on iOS ?
