THey have always knocked it out of the park since the very first T-Racks standalone was released. An absolute steal for what the Max bundle is going for now. Nice vids!
Another very useful video, thanks! I have TR5 and your videos have opened my eyes!!! And you've taught me a TON of things I never knew about the modules and their historical significance. Well done.
Thanks for the great video! So detailed and clear. The T-Racks ONE is great but I found that it can very quickly destroy the bottom end, especially if using the transient and analog control. Everything should be used in very small amounts on that plug in but I do not recommend it when trying to pull out more transients, it really starts distorting.
Was just looking for some info what the plugins are modeled after. Pretty sure I had emulations of all thosee Neve and API things whose names people keep throwing around. I just had no idea which ones they were. 😅Many thanks for the walk through! Tons of interesting information in here.
Burgess Macneil was the other designer (with George Massenburg) who, while both working at ITI, together developed the original MEP-230 mastering EQ, (the outboard version of their MEP-130 console/modular EQ) which was the forerunner of the now iconic Sontec 432 mastering EQ. Macneil and Massenburg parted ways in 1975, when ITI suffered financial difficulties and went out of business; Macneal purchased the drawings and schematics for the original MEP-230 at auction (along with some original parts), and founded Sontec, where the MEP designs ultimately became the Sontec 432. Massenburg went on to form his own company, GML, which also became well-known for designing great mastering EQ’s. FWIW 🙏
At 34:33 I noticed that the equal gain button is missing in the TR5 suite. A little distressed I checked my own version (5.01) -> no equal gain knob. Weird, that they removed this handy feature form the stand alone version in the plug-in version. Or was it simply forgotten? I already contacted the support ...
no it's on the suite (watch the mastering-suite video before this one), but not when opened in plugin form within a host DAW (which is as it should be, you wouldn't want equal gain in a plugin really)
Hm, I own some other plug-ins with an equal gain feature (Pro-Q2, Slick-EQ, TDR Nova etc.). It is really handy for avoiding the "louder sounds better" trap. Especially in mastering situations. I would love to have this feature in the plug-in version because the One-plug has no output control an adds a lot of volume. But as always: YMMV.
Hi Dancetech, Enjoying your videos as always. Wondering about a couple of things: Setting up ABCD variations as desired, will all the variations be saved if I save these changes as the default within Logic? Wouldn't another way be to save the different settings as channel strips, with other plugins to taste? I have T5 Deluxe, and have just scored a bunch more on IKM's T5 group buy. The Leslie is great, btw! Cheers!
IK has a sale going on till Aug 30. Buy one get one free, but the kicker is, as more folks buy a component, you can get another component free. They do this at 200 buyers, 400, 800, 1000. You get one for equal or lesser value, right now ( 8/16 ), I bought 1 and have received 3 of my choice of equal or lesser value.
If you look at the playlist, you'll find the specific lessons of each plugin... For me, this video is really interesting to understand and know the original hardware of each plugins
The Bob Ross of plugin review. Happy little plugins...
🤣
You do such a GREAT job in your presentation style. Perfect tempo, the perfect amount of knowledge, demo, history etc. SUB!

An absolutely delightful overview of these plugins peppered liberally with both expertise and justified enthusiasm. Thanks for this!
Thanks
I think T-Racks plugins are amazing. Surprised they are not more popular.
The way you are speaking is so much inspiring!
I like your enthusiasm and the info i get from your video. Didn't realize we could load the suit as a vsti. Cool.

Love it. The details on the units are educational.

When I started using these plugins from IK Multimedia, I was finally able to achieve the sound I sleuthing wanted.
this is a really great series!
I just like the way you explain each. Thank you.

what's "the One-plug"?
TR5 ONE. The Alle-in-one mastering plug-in.

Tried it, doesn't seem to work, unless I've missed something.
very nice videos. subbed
Looking forward to the sound demos of these. And annoyed that you are tempting me to spend yet more money on things that i want, rather than need.
HAHAHHA .... I was thinking the same thing ... well, my wife asked what I wanted for Christmas ... :-)

cyorkgo see my reply in this thread
Could you basically do everything with this bundle?
in terms of processors & fx, yes, but you don't get any instruments in this package
if you had a choice would you buy a t-racks bundle or a waves bundle?
t-racks.
I figured t-racks seems more modern
Second this. Like Waves but some of the Ik plugins just sound incredible, especially the 76 compressor and the Pultec EQ
Wow!
And then I realized that I actually have those toys with irig stuff !!!))) I'm on sky
Cool!!!~~
So all these are bundled in the T Racks Max package?
yup
👌🏼👍
Damin If I can colabirate wit you, and send Audio to you and you can make sound good, I like your tutorials
Actually, think I’m sold..
I can click knobs by myself too, wtf this lesson?

You cant polish a turd. Make sure you have a decent mix in the first place.
