Awesome podcast. This is EXACTLY what I learned in naturopathic medical school. The naturopathic medical school curriculum is not the same as an allopathic medical school curriculum. We must learn more! We have to learn both the naturopathic and allopathic curriculums. It blows my mind that allopathic practitioners are just now catching on. What was once deemed QUACKERY is now being explored as medical truth. One of the first things a naturopathic physician will prescribe is sunlight, while reducing non-native EMFs. The body is a miraculous healing machine. If you give it what it needs, remove what it doesn't need, it will bring itself back to homeostasis expediting health and well-being. Bravo Dr. Lyon and Dr. Cowan!
oh boy! this is a passion of mine for 15 years or more. when i found out why winters were so hard on me from suffering S A D and there was a solution! Light . i got a light canapy that had specific light freqencies that i used each morning . Changed everything. This device had 4 modes that i didnt have a clue what the other colored lights did. Then the craze for skin happened. then the mitochondria effect came back into focus. AND the effect on the brain! I am happy this amazing tool has finally seeped up into health circles! and science!!! Very exciting to have others explain how FANTASTIC Light is for us . Every morning i walk my dog without glasses on my eyes. I have not suffered the way i had years past from S A D since this little thing entered my life. i am so grateful for LIGHT boxes and electricity in the winter! now back to the conversation.
Loved reading your comment! So happy to hear how much your winters improved after getting the right lights. Would you please tell me which lights you recommend? Thanks in advance. It is so dark here in the winter in Norway where I live!
@@enigmakosmos85 I have done extensive research into the panels and I bought the BIOFLEX ZONE XL panel because it comes with seven preprogrammed treatment protocols for easy use. BIOFLEX has ongoing UA-cam educational podcasts on a myriad of conditions and how to treat them using photobiomodulation (PBM). Their unit is FDA and Health Canada approved. They have been in the medical PBM business for over 30 years. My husband and I have been using the panel for over a year (using it 3 to 5 times per week is optimal, one protocol per day). I cured my carpal tunnel syndrome in both hands (Tx 3x per week using inflammation protocol standing 8" from panel, exposing skin from neck to fingertips palm up half the time, then palm down for 12 weeks. Raise the unit onto a stool for height adjustment.). Hoorah no surgery needed! Great for lower back pain and tendonitis, SAD, even the longevity protocol is great for long Covid (expose naked chest 8" from unit) or any viruses. There are many units on the market, but they don't come with preprogrammed treatment protocols and educational podcasts and over 30+ years of clinical trial experience. For brain PBM, I recommend VieLight because they have over 15+ published clinical studies using their equipment with good results.
I heard Alexis talk about a 4 mode bulb too in this conversation but I didn't hear her say where she got it. I see you talking about it as well. What and where did you get what you used? Excellent video! Dr. Cowan does an excellent job explaining information espoused by Dr. Jack Kruse, who is often difficult to follow unless you have strong physics, biology + chemistry backgrounds.
Personally I think it is more about what you put in your body. Like smoking one needs to avoid alcohol, and processed foods. I’m a 62 year old fair skinned female, and have recently had two separate people amazed at my age. They both said, “You have no wrinkles.” I do not avoid the sun, in fact I purpose to get sunlight on my skin and “photons in my eyeballs” as I call it. I do use lanolin and tallow for protection and moisturizer on my skin. They both are similar to the sebum we lose after we age. If I am exposed for long periods of time especially near water, I will use a zinc oxide based sunscreen. I also believe eating more foods with complete amino acid profile will also help one’s skin. I supplement with collagen, glycine, and MSM for my joints, but they are also helping my skin. I don’t use any fancy products on my face and either.
This was a damn good episode, I came from the podcast to write this… all episodes are damn good, but I’m so glad I caught this one, and I’ll be listening or watching it one more time… I need that app!

Glad you are doing this discussion. I have been doing eeekly red light sessions plus near infrared too. You are o e if my favorites, I love your concepts of muscle centric medicine which I think is true.
Muscle isn’t quite what the gurus make it out to be. We don’t need to be muscle bound. We have to devote the most energy to the mitochondria in our brain and hearts. That is where we pack it and what causes the majority of early deaths. Bodybuilder types are definitely prone to brain and especially heart issues for many reasons
Full spectrum bulbs FTW!!! HEMP Seed is the PERFECT optimal balance of OMega 3/6/9!!! ⚖️ ... also, make sure you're Salmon is wild-caught for better OMega balance... farm raised fish are fed grains (which they don't eat in nature) , and that creates abnormal high levels of OMega 6 = inflammation (mother of most diseases)
Wow! Years ago I remember people taking photographs of people with a special camera to capture their aura. Seemed "woo-woo" at the time but they said the aura is the energy your own body makes that the naked eye cannot see. Some healthy people would generate a very vivid aura and some people who were not as healthy made a weaker, more dim aura. 😮 So now this all makes sense!
But, far more research could clarify about that. It is so easy to jump to assumptions, so always being open to how more detail can give added clarity is important to keep seeking to question, especially our own current assumptions.
The issue with Jack Kruse's followers is that they often underestimate the importance of diet, despite food being one of the key zeitgebers signaling the circadian rhythm. Even Jack Kruse himself could benefit from placing more emphasis on diet, as he appears to be becoming increasingly obese.
300 mcg iodine daily or eat a lot of seafood/shell fish. Creatine is helpful and selenium plays a big metabolic role but I don't have the details or dosage. Google search Jack kruse along with what you'd like to learn about and he will most likely have an explanation for it.
She made many points toward that. And, she had many clues about learning that. Get outside every morning after dawn, for twenty minuets or so soaking in daylight, just for starters IMHO.
1:08:50 what about cataract surgery - the lenses they put in when your body’s lenses have been damaged to the point that everything looks like a kaleidoscope?
Arctic plunges and saunas r essential in frozen parts of the world. I never understood why parents of infants would leave their babies in strollers to nap on the front porch of someone’s home in Finland. Now it seems they understood the importance of building a certain type of fat in the indirect/direct light…
I heard Dr. Kruse say (I am paraphrasing, not quoting) that you could keep them at the tip of your nose - or pulled down at least enough to let the light can enter the eye.

Brilliant conversation..nice to hear this is coming to the forefront for our crazy modern lifestyle forced upon us by major corporations..excellent that companies like bond charge exist. I buy from them..I have known about red light therapy for 30+years..back then it was very hard to fund any products. Well done.
I have used full spectrum lighting for decades. I saw what it did for my box turtle that couldn't move and his eyes crusted over after moving him inside. As far as vitamin D, i saw a podcast with Dr Campbell from the UK back in 2020. They have a group of 10,000 nurses they use for statistical health evaluations. The nurses that took 1000 IU of D daily had 70 % less lung infections.
I learned from an old timer as a kid over 50 years ago., get full sun early in spring and build a “base tan” and you/I will never need sun tan lotion and will never burn, he was right, I never burn and stay in the sun all day long. I also learned that cigarette smokers are the ones that get wrinkles and a poor diet and alcohol mixed with sun also creates a bad side effect of the sun rays.
What is a good company that produces or distributes a worthy "red light therapy" device for example hair regrowth or for facial skin. Thank you for your time.
As far as red light therapy is concerned, there are so many products out there now. Is there a level or quality of red light that is recommended for general health and for specific healing of things like injuries and eczema?
She is brilliant ❤! Hope she can convert Gabrielle ❤ and can wake her up ❤ ! ❤❤❤Decentralization ❤Don't die ❤Eyes mind heart and soul wide open. NO FEAR ❤
Interesting; so much I learned here. the Pomc/alpha/beta paths (or however they are spelled) would be good adaptions for northern latitudes when food is scarce and the sun is scarce.. so it is natural to reduce energy use for a Quasi-hibernation state.
Your guest is absolutely correct. Look at the vit D studies on hospital covid patients. They were surprisingly disappointing. It would appear chronically low vit D levels are more a health marker for co-morbidities
Dr Roger Seheult (medcram) does recommend fasting resulting in autophagy to help eliminate "bad mitochondria" so the body can produce healthy mitochondria in mitochondrial dysfunction
The amazing thing, is that I never burn. I go out in increments in the spring. I have irish bloodlines, yet I tan easily. I spend as much time as I can in the sun. I feel so sad for all the people I see that look so ill and pale. They think they are doing the right thing when they slather themselves up with sunscreen.
Get cold exposure. And still get out in the natural light preferably grounded. Also eat locally, seasonally, less carbs more animal fat. Still get some good protein too of course

Thank you for providing this!
Thank you!
This was chockes full of great information. I had to listen twice.
I’ve been watching your channel for awhile now
all of your guests prompted by your informed interview style based on a sound medical background , are so full of usable info that it’s almost overwhelming
This guest is going to require me re listening over and over
This is one of the most densely packed episodes
Thank you
Thank you both
Awesome podcast.

I have done extensive research into the panels and I bought the BIOFLEX ZONE XL panel because it comes with seven preprogrammed treatment protocols for easy use.
Maybe you heard her better than I about the light bulbs and heard more about where she got those. Thank you and I too am glad to hear that you feel better during the winter.
Light therapy has been around forever. Nevertheless nice to see young dr Alexis enthusiasm in rediscovering and raising interest in its foundation. ❤
Excellent video! Dr. Cowan does an excellent job explaining information espoused by Dr. Jack Kruse, who is often difficult to follow unless you have strong physics, biology + chemistry backgrounds.
Both, seem highly synergistic together!
I love your content. Thorough, dense, you treat your audience like they are intelligent enough to understand and I appreciate that.
This was fascinating. I’ll be watching again and taking notes. It would be great if Alexis wasn’t constantly interrupted.
it seemed that Lyon had to make it all about her and her listeners and kept interrupting.
I am so glad someone commented on this. I found it so annoying how she kept interrupting her with uninteresting questions
Fascinating conversation , many thanks, Dr Cowan is a genius
Great you are bringing physics to the table as a key aspect of understanding health & biology
Sara, and great you are helping it ALL!
I'm curious to hear Dr. Cowan's advice for getting more sun but avoiding more facial wrinkles.
Wear a visor/hat…….
Don't burn, get reasonable sunlight.
Get 1st light, if you are outside a lot wear a hat but expose the rest of your skin. You need regular exposure to obtain solar callous
Tallow and lanolin. Thanks for the advice. I'll buy some.
So excited to see Dr. Cowan back on your podcast.
Great interview I could listen to you both all day long.
This was a damn good episode, I came from the podcast to write this… all episodes are damn good, but I’m so glad I caught this one, and I’ll be listening or watching it one more time… I need that app!
Thank You. Light is a great energy and now I understand a little b it.... but you two are bringing good emotional energy which is in my opinion as important
Great idea to put a podcast between adverts. Excellent.
It is incredibly satisfying to know that this brilliant young lady launched into the right direction of critical thinking because of Jack Kruse. Wow. These are the moments that make me smile. Lets goooooo!
Yes, hope exists!
Lite, water, magnetism, oxygen, plasma and TIME, TIME, TIME ! Nature's Source Code ❤Decentralization ❤Don't die ❤.
This is so good I had to come back and watch it again, thank you Alexis and Gabrielle
❤ Love this conversation and topic!
Loved hearing it was the conversation between Rick, Dr. Kruse, and Andrew Huberman that prompted all of this.
Thank you both!
Now if we can just stop the geo-engineering and blocking of the sun, which seems to happen most during sunrises and sunsets, we will be golden.
Yes I have noticed the clouds blocking sunrise almost every morning.
I’m there with you. I just joined a group here in NJ trying to pass legislation to stop it.
Hey guys. What is all this about? Can you please tell me where to get more info?
@@dralexisjazmynI have a practice in Princeton NJ - is like to join. Please let me know the details 🙂
@@dralexisjazmynexcellent interview!!! Wow!!
Beyond fascinating. I could have listened forever hours
Fantastic information, Alexis is such a wealth of information. So glad I’ve found her.
Glad it was helpful!
Amazing conversation! Thank you to both of you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I love the content of your podcast… Love Dr. Alex… I have subscribed and will be tuning in again. Please continue your essential work thank you so much.
I love her enthusiasm and sharing. thank you for sharing your friend with us... Please have her on AGAIN!! Please 🙂
Amazing interview! I love the focus on mechanisms and the relationship between healthy biology and our environment.
Happy you found it valuable!
Good German research and application of red light and near infra red light.
Hi guys. I may have missed it but could you post your recommendations for the full spectrum bulbs and panels etc.
So now this all makes sense!
But, far more research could clarify about that. It is so easy to jump to assumptions, so always being open to how more detail can give added clarity is important to keep seeking to question, especially our own current assumptions.
Dr. Alexis Cowan is really interesting interviewee. I will now search for her interviews online. Thanks!
Brilliant conversation
Can you provide links to many of the items recommended in this podcast?
The issue with Jack Kruse's followers is that they often underestimate the importance of diet, despite food being one of the key zeitgebers signaling the circadian rhythm. Even Jack Kruse himself could benefit from placing more emphasis on diet, as he appears to be becoming increasingly obese.
It seems you could benefit by listening in more detail, to all of it. And, that advice is also for myself.
What would you recommend to get your mitochondria to generate the most possible ATP? I am severely fatigued.
Wonderful episode. Very impressive. Love ❤️
What about Himalayan Salt lamps??? Anybody know?
Arctic plunges and saunas r essential in frozen parts of the world. I never understood why parents of infants would leave their babies in strollers to nap on the front porch of someone’s home in Finland. Now it seems they understood the importance of building a certain type of fat in the indirect/direct light…
Great comment.
Such innovated show… thank you ♥️♥️♥️
What do you do if you wear glasses?
Not a huge deal but take them off when you can especially the morning first light
I heard Dr. Kruse say (I am paraphrasing, not quoting) that you could keep them at the tip of your nose - or pulled down at least enough to let the light can enter the eye.
Just Wowwww. Thank you
Awesome episode. Great job from both doctors. I’m now a subscriber.
Im so glade for us that UncleJack got to her ❤! She is Funking AMAZINGLY BRILLANT ❤! decentralization Don't die ❤. Eyes mind heart and soul wide open. NO FEAR ❤!
Loved this episode ❤
Love this!
Brilliant conversation..nice to hear this is coming to the forefront for our crazy modern lifestyle forced upon us by major corporations..excellent that companies like bond charge exist. I buy from them..I have known about red light therapy for 30+years..back then it was very hard to fund any products. Well done.
Amazing interview 👏 if i could suggest, i would add Dr Jack Kruse to the conversation 👍
I'm with you, guys👍
I have used full spectrum lighting for decades. I saw what it did for my box turtle that couldn't move and his eyes crusted over after moving him inside.
As far as vitamin D, i saw a podcast with Dr Campbell from the UK back in 2020. They have a group of 10,000 nurses they use for statistical health evaluations. The nurses that took 1000 IU of D daily had 70 % less lung infections.
What time of day would you lay on a infired mat
I just open the door and step outside, FREQUENTLY.
I have a pulsing unit Maysama. Nice piece of equipment. I have to say it was a challenge at times since this lady’s intelligence is huge! Carry on!❤
I learned from an old timer as a kid over 50 years ago., get full sun early in spring and build a “base tan” and you/I will never need sun tan lotion and will never burn, he was right, I never burn and stay in the sun all day long.
I also learned that cigarette smokers are the ones that get wrinkles and a poor diet and alcohol mixed with sun also creates a bad side effect of the sun rays.
Yes. There is a reason people with lots of melanin have the best skin
@@_JMann And, they are tan even deep in tissues. And, make light deep inside the body.
What is a good company that produces or distributes a worthy "red light therapy" device for example hair regrowth or for facial skin. Thank you for your time.
Excellent!
“Almost too good to share with the world” VS “wow everyone needs this”
Infrared light is also reflected off leaves during the day. Another reason to get outside.
Yes, even in the SHADE under a tree!
As far as red light therapy is concerned, there are so many products out there now. Is there a level or quality of red light that is recommended for general health and for specific healing of things like injuries and eczema?
The sun is the red light therapy device you need ma’am!
The sun really is a god 😉
Great podcast!
excellent show Dr Lyon! As always I learnt lots!!
She is brilliant ❤! Hope she can convert Gabrielle ❤ and can wake her up ❤ ! ❤❤❤Decentralization ❤Don't die ❤Eyes mind heart and soul wide open. NO FEAR ❤
This is a critical topic! TY for this..
Dr Jack Kruse is the OG in this light space !!
Interesting; so much I learned here. the Pomc/alpha/beta paths (or however they are spelled) would be good adaptions for northern latitudes when food is scarce and the sun is scarce.. so it is natural to reduce energy use for a Quasi-hibernation state.
Awesome guest
Amazingly good and valuable content, loved this💓
Your guest is absolutely correct. Look at the vit D studies on hospital covid patients. They were surprisingly disappointing. It would appear chronically low vit D levels are more a health marker for co-morbidities
Notes to self, 46:08, flicker light screen blockers. 46:40 recommended product.
Dr Roger Seheult (medcram) does recommend fasting resulting in autophagy to help eliminate "bad mitochondria" so the body can produce healthy mitochondria in mitochondrial dysfunction
Great interview👍
The amazing thing, is that I never burn. I go out in increments in the spring. I have irish bloodlines, yet I tan easily. I spend as much time as I can in the sun. I feel so sad for all the people I see that look so ill and pale. They think they are doing the right thing when they slather themselves up with sunscreen.
Yes, they answer 'MY'skin doesn't allow me to be out there', but they forget that you can adapt your physiology, it's what makes us so great.
What does OFF mean on the host’s shirt?
Wonderful Information.
So what should we do in the winter, I'm confused.
Get cold exposure. And still get out in the natural light preferably grounded. Also eat locally, seasonally, less carbs more animal fat. Still get some good protein too of course
@@_JMann Yes, as OG as possible, but 'OG light' too!
Where is her link?
I love the topic and the information, your reference to our past living habits Even though obviously very significant, I have a hard time getting past your nails seriously. I've got to give it to those for you as smart as hell she knows what she's talking about.
What are supposed to do if we need our contacts/glasses to see while we are outside...?
Some companies (Vivarays is one) offers glasses that let UV light pass through
Contacts are no bueno in this regard unfortunately
LIGHT ! DR. JACK KRUSE... ❤! DECENTRALIZATION ❤. Wake up ! 😢
