- In this video I give a full in depth tour of a 2009 Scion XB. I take viewers on a close look through the interior and exterior of this car while showing details, over viewing of features, and noting unique styling cues to the vehicle itself. I also show the engine and the details of it, start it up and see how it sounds under acceleration. A thorough tour/review of this car designed to give others a greater overall appreciation of the vehicle.
I just purchased my scion and have to say it's very comfortable for myself and passengers great stock sounds great road trip car love being on the road in this vehicle

Yes it is too much plastic, cheap import, center cluster gauges, too boxy, but One thing everyone has missed out about this car is that for the price this car will outlast all those cool cars you might think are better... Remember that ugly corolla or camry from the 90's... Well most of them are still running, this car is made the same way as far as engine, trans and suspension in Japan. For the buck this is the best car to take you from point a to point b.

Looking at this and the Honda Fit. Very spacious
Scion was a nice car. The XB and the TC were my favorite vehicles.
Same engine as the mid sized Camry despite being a compact car. Box shape not great for aerodynamics but great for rear head room. Coupe style roof that's so common really reduces rear head room.
So many comments comparing this to cars that are twice the money. I'm sold, gonna go grab up 2012 next week.
I drive an '08 for work putting about 1,500-1,700 miles on it a month and it's a great car. It's got some nice pep and is always fun to drive. The stock stereo is killer and has an ipod hookup. I know this is something easily upgraded, but since it's a company car I can't do that so those being stock features makes time on the road great. It doesn't feel cheap, the center located gauges don't bother me, lots of places to put stuff (phone, drinks ect). I'd really like to try a 5-speed manual.

My mom has the '09 xb 5 speed manual. Its pretty sick. It surprisingly has good pick up to. I can agree on the stock stereo lol it's pretty good.

My mother owns a 2006 model with manual transmission. I'm using it to learn how to drive manual. It only has about 79,000 miles on it, my mother is the original owner. She got it back in January 2007. My mom doesn't drive a whole lot. My dad's car has 75,000 miles on it and it's a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring bought new in January 2011.

I owned one of these with the TRD lowering springs and it was an absolute blast to drive!

test drove a 2011 xb yesterday and i'm in love! VERY nice car! can't see myself buying a brand new car, though. so i'll probably wait to get a certified pre-owned one.
since i've seen the improvements the 2011 xb has made, i think i'll wait for it. just makes sense.

@saabkyle04 Maybe you could do a 5spd tC and possibly a test drive if you can find one? Especially since your videos are alot more detailed now than they were back when you first started :)
It's actually pretty good car. My mom drives it everyday and it has had no serious mechanical problems. The gauges are barely even in the middle and it doesn't bother you while you're inside the car. But someone that's never driven one wouldn't know that.
Names for the xB: The xBox, the refrigerator, the toaster, the cooler, the tub, the tool box, the tackle box, the lunch box, the toy box.
The Scion xB's favorite statements: "Think inside the box".

Can someone help me understand why there is that one little light in the bottom left corner of the rear of the Scion XB? What exactly is it supposed to be used for?
It's an asymmetrical reverse light.

@paintedbird I agree with you on that statement. It might be great in certain areas, such as the audio system pointed out, but the styling is definitely not for everyone.
My personal opinion (and its just a humble one) is that the outside styling is pretty average and mediocre, and I personally think the Honda Element even looks better than this. The interior is pretty Spartan looking and has a more industrial-truck look to me.
I like the XB. They use them around here as taxis. What I'd like to know is why there isn't a rear gate release button on the key (?)

@datboiwes3 So they can use the same dashboard in both left and right hand drive countries.
It's actually a very smart move for the company, it's much cheaper to just switch the steering wheel around for LHD and RHD markets.

This is for certain the best Scion of the ones you have on your channel. My favorite Scion is the FR-S, basically the same car as the Toyota GT86 and Subaru BRZ.

Both xBs are great but the older model get 30 mpg in the city!
I have a 2015 manual and get 28 mpg.

@breakingsoftware Doing that one time won't cause any damage, it's no worse than turning at speed. If he follows your logic he might as well not start the car because it might cause wear and tear to the motor or open the door cause it will wear out the hinges.
These are a whole lot better looking than the new Nissan Cube. For me it would be a toss up between this and the Kia Soul.

@rml695 Most cars don't have one if it's the full liftgate. If they did that, it'd be a power liftgate, and of course, that's too easy and simple for the manufacturers. :(

@5:56 LOL Another Lady GaGa encounter. If you ask me, the best thing on that car is the stereo. The outside styling is not that much better than the first-gen xB. The best Scion so far, IMO, is the tC. What's the difference between the xA, xB, and xD... Anyone???

Sad that the xB has been discontinued. This Generation did not have the charm of the 1st Gen.

This is just a Toyota with a different name and exterior badging. It's the Americanized version of the JDM Corolla Rumion.
