- the addition of cataloging my wardrobe was kinda last minute but let me know which of the 10 outfits was your most & least favorite! I think I want to do a whole separate video about cataloging my wardrobe because it has 100% been my best tool to stop myself from shopping so far!

you have THE best hair. i really hope you know that you are so gorgeous 😭
Right the new hairdo looks so goooddd
@@nataliawineland34 i’m obsessed
Like mermaid hair, long and thick and shiny!!
I agree! She has amazing hair and is so pretty. 🤩
She is, inside and out. I love her hair. Every style suits here.
Fall Shelby stirring the dye pot for the green thing has great spooky October vibes
Hey! Just wanted to say that if you think at any point you may want to sew things, for denim you can learn a technique called a “blind hem” which allows you to keep the machined hem look at the bottom. A lot of sewing places do a class on this exact technique so that you can blind hem any denim item on your own. Most sewing machines include a blind hem stitch to make the process quick and easy.
thank you!!! I definitely think this will be a top goal for me in 2025!!
Thank you random stranger, I totally forgot about that hack!! ❤ Also, loved the video Shelby!
Would love to see you do a video of trying all the stylist chosen outfits.
I feel like I could make literally 5 more videos with what I've learned from the app so far!! So I probably will do!!
Omg Shelby your new hair suits you so so so well! And I love all the ideas for upcycling our clothes, really starting to love autumn, even in rainy UK 💚
❤❤❤
Your hair is giving Gillian in Practical Magic, sooo good!
I did this over the summer!! I cataloged my wardrobe and then dyed a bunch of things black when I realized I never wore them because of their color. It worked out great and I’ve already worn them more!
Omg further in the video and yeah INDYX IS GREAT! Also I think you’d like beepworld’s content if you haven’t checked her out, she did a collab with Alexa recently about Indyx!
1) your hair looks AMAZING!! Red hair really suits you.
2) I learned so much from this video! I’ve never had great success Rit dye. I’ve never heard of doing it in the washing machine! 🤯
3) as for the outfits, 5,6,&7 are my favorites
the outfits the stylist chose are SO CUTE?? like each one is unique while fitting under the same style! my favs are 4, 5, and 8!!! 🩷
Indyx is so great! As someone who wants to make sure I wear all my clothes it helps so much. If you have the time to do it you and use it, then it makes the biggest difference!
I HARD agree. I wish I had set out to include it in the video because I have learned so so much. I will probably make future videos on it!
@@Shelbizleee I hope you do! I love looking at other people’s wardrobes
I've seen so many people dye their clothes this year and I've been so inspired! I didn't know you could do this in the washing machine?? So accessible
i was so intimidated until I learned I could do it in the washing machine hahaha. it made it so simple!
As a Midwest girl, fall clothes are my favorite wardrobe to wear. A thermal top or cardigan are my mainstays. This video is inspiring me to rehab some of my recent clothing purchases this season.
You could try dying with plants! Tea for beige to light brown, avocado pits for pink (which I’m going to try soon!), turmeric for yellow etc. I’ve been very excited about trying dying some of my clothes with plants. 🌱 🥑 🫖
I've done this before! Only issue is it really only works on natural fibers and it also fades heavily. the shirt I avocado dyed in 2020 is completely white now. It's a fun project but not one that will actually help transform your wardrobe in most cases
@@Shelbizleee ahh too bad, cause I love the avocado pink! I wonder if there’s a way to fix the color so it doesn’t fade so easily.
Everything turned out so beautifully…I gave myself bangs recently too! You look STUNNING🥰🥰🥰
Love the hair! It's a great color on you. Regarding having your clothes hemmed or altered, I think either having a friend or family member do it or doing it yourself is the only cost-effective way to do it if you have more than one or two items a season.
Love Indyx! Would love a more detailed video of your lookbook experience. Like who you hired, what you filled out beforehand, their notes, trying on the outfits, your thoughts on the whole process, etc!
omg your bangs look amazing 😍
thank you so much!! ❤
This was such a great video!!
And im obsessed with your new hair! It looks so good, the color really suits you!
YOUR HAIR omg I love it
Loved this! I literally just did this with a hoodie - it was cream and I cannot be trusted with that color so dyed it dark green and it is now my absolute fave
OBSESSED with your new hair!! It's giving Practical Magic with the denim which is amazing! Also I think all the pieces turned out great!
You and Leena Norms should follow each other. She's a British UA-camr who loves fashion, and she's also on a mission to stop buying clothes. I think you'd both get a kick out of each other.
Ayyy I love Leena's videos! Nice to come across someone who watches both Leena and Shelby too 💜
Seconded! I kept thinking of Leena the whole time I watched 😅
This video is exactly the inspiration I need to get back to all the mending and alterations I have to do!! Good luck on learning how to sew, I promise it’s easier than it looks!! Especially hems (-a short person who has to hem a lot)
I’ve been curious about dyeing stuff + a little nervous to pull the trigger but this is inspiring me to just go for it!
I should really take my "need to have these altered" bag to my tailor. Thanks for reminding me. Also, I'm a tie dyer and sell in some local shops! So glad you dyed some things!
The hair, the up cycling, the fall fashion ahhhhh 🥰🥰
You're my inspiration! I have gotten so many clothes fixed and altered thanks to you keeping it top of my mind. I do cave a little bit and get new stuff more than I'd like. But definitely an improvement over past me. Thanks, Shelby!
My sewing machine just resurfaced and I was also going through my clothes this weekend! yay for re-purposing!
You inspired me girl especially with the index
Hi Shelbi! I LOVE the concept of this video and it was something I was and still am in the process of learning/doing in my own life. I started dyeing clothes last year and it was the BEST! I have been in the process of digitizing my closet for over a decade (started in high school) and it is such a great resource! I love seeing you dip into making the most out of your clothes! Megan McSherry is my favorite blend of sustainability and fashion influencer! She also digitized her closet. I love watching people make UA-cam vids about cataloging their closet and have most definitely seen Alexa’s haha. Megan and Alexa were the ones who got me to seriously start up cataloging my clothes again. I wish there was a way to transfer info from one app to another (I use Stylebook, but Indyx sounds so cool!) I would be stoked to see more videos about these topics in the near future!
Also 7 is my favorite outfit!
Love your hair!!! Great video :)
Yes to an Indyx video please 🍁
I love this. I knit things for myself. My plan is to replace some things in my wardrobe with hand made items.
Girl, Bangs look great on you!
I love the ideas behind outfits 5 and 9. Would love to see what they actually look like on!
Eeeeeeee! Love, love, love your hair, Shelby!!!
The hair looks amazing! I have a similar hair colour to your natural one, and I’m always scared to go ginger, but honestly I may try it now 🫣
Yesss tailoring is so awesome!! If you can find a good tailor of course!
my favorite is outfit 9!! also i love your hair
recently washed a hand dyed dress, alot of dye came out of it. ended up using it for dying a grey shirt i didnt like that much anymore and it went perfect X3
You inspired me to buy some dye and upcycle some clothes this weekend! ☺️💕
OML the hair is GIVING 💗🍂
stop you make me want to get bangs! your hair is always so cute
Shelby…the hair is next level
In the most amazing beautiful way
i am a (sort of) tall stick and it is also so hard for me to find stuff at the thrift store that fits, especially pants. every time i go to the thrift store, i check the jeans and i don't think i've ever found ones that fit me, let alone ones i like the fit of. i mean, i had the same difficulty when i was still shopping at the mall and department stores so i guess i can't blames the thrift stores' selection, there are jut no pants made for me lol
all this turned out so freaking good!! It's making me want to alter my things too xoxo
Absolutely loved this video! I actually love so much that the romper and sweatpants came out different colors! They are both so cute!
I was SUPER skeptical about you dyeing things in the washing machine, but I was pleasantly surprised!
Love this video. Have already watched/listened twice and it's inspiring me to work on my own wardrobe. I have some dingy white/striped tops that I want to dye in order to give them a second life. I also want to dye an off-white comforter I have on our guest bed. Again, dingy/stained but otherwise fine. Dye would help so much.
Omg you got absolutelly robbed on that tailoring. I sew and I fix all my clothes myself, those fixes would take, no joke, 10 minutes for the dress and maybe 20 for the skort. 100 bucks for that was insane! holy XD
I also think it's a shame that the original hems where not kept, that's not that more difficult to do 😏
yes omg, i'm pretty sure i spent less than $100 to get my wedding dress altered lol, and they also added padding and a bustle!
Woof right
@@kristinakokoskova517 exaaaactly!! It was so beautiful, so sad
I was thinking the same! I'm just a beginner but I have fixed the length of many of my clothes, that price is ridiculous
loved this video! I've been wanting to do something similar with my wardrobe, so this was great inspo. Also - outfit 3 is my fave!
I just started saving onion peels to make a natural yellow dye. 😆 Kind of excited to try it.
I love 1, 3, 5 and 10. Interesting styling!
This is the most satisfying, enjoyable video I've ever seen and now I'm currently wanting to go through my closet and seeeeeee what I can change!
Okaaaaayyy bangs!!!
You're new hair suits you so well! You are so gorgeous!!
Also I love this video!! If you get interested in hemming your own clothes, I would love to see how it goes! So far I have only sewn my old college sweatshirt that doesn't fit anymore into a sweatshirt for my dog lol
Girlllll your hair looks stunninggggg 🔥🔥🔥
OMG, I see the iconic Barton Springs Salamander shirt from Goody Bag
Rose brown and mushroom 😊
The new hair looks amazing on you!!! 😍😍
Love this video!! As always!😅❤ But that outfit in the last segment (brown pants, white tank, denim button up) looks SOOOOOO good!!!!🤩 Don’t get me wrong, I love all of your outfits! But now that outfit is my next inspo outfit.👌
#4 is my favorite! 5 is cute, 6 isn't bad.
Fav outfits are 4, 6 and 7
Love your new fall hair!
my favorite is #8!
I like outfit number 5! And love your hair.
My fav fits are 3 and 7!
Love the hair suits you ❤
I love your new hair ❤
Yusss. I’m repairing the jeans that fit with the fabric from jeans that don’t 😂
Love the new hair BTW!
Your hair looks amazing 😍
3 is my favorite and less favorites none, i like them all
Your new hair looks soooo godd
I love my day owl backpack in tan :)
This is so inspiring. I want to do this too! Thank youuuuu ❤
I love this! ❤
Any tips for dyeing with your washing machine? As far as least amount of mess? Ive been wanting to dye my bed sheets, bought the dye and everything, and then chickened out!
This is reminding me I have a dress I need to have altered.
LOVEEE
I have been supposed to refresh my black cotton tops but don't really know whether it will work with a HE washer. Did you find it easier to do it in a simple large plastic bowl or in the washer?
GFC just released new sweatpants… I would’ve purchased some from them tbh 😅🙈
Man, I really would love to try stuff like dyeing my clothes and sewing them myself, but I live in a small place and it’s hard to justify buying and storing that big equipment.
Damn. What were those green sweatpants made out of? 🤣Tailoring services are definitely cheaper in San Antonio because there's more of them, she did a really great job! The hair color totally suits you.
$100 for 2 hems! No ma'am! I understand why you didnt leave but thats highway robbery.
Everything turned out amzing though!
What a coincidence, I'm currently digitalising my wardrobe so I can use everything I have instead of rotating the same 4 outfits lol
This video ate so hard
youre so beautiful ❤
Great video! Very fun and interesting.
I’m sure you know this, but for anyone who hasn’t dyed before, you need a designated pot (and any other tools) that you will not use for food again.
Can you post a short of the alterations to the dress? I wanted a better look at the hem.
I really encourage you to learn to sew. Get a sewing machine at the thrift store maybe?
The hemming of the denim dress is really easy to do, since you can unbutton it and then its a flat piece and only one long seam to make.
I wish I had a denim dress like that. 100$ for the two things are INSANE 😮 as these are very easy alterations.
One of the reasons you might be getting the dye splotchy-ness could be from normal oil/ dirt from hands. Before you dye a piece, wash the heck out of it. You may want to wash it twice. Keep the piece wet when you put it in the dye bath and touch it as little as possible. I have old dish washing gloves just to dye clothes. Also, Dharma trading has dyes with much better color payoff. Might be worth checking out. Hope it helps 🤷🏻♀️
I love the bangs. And you got ripped of sooo bad, those alterations are not worth 100$.
Like on one hand, yes, supporting small businesses and everyone is entitled to their price. But that was not worth 111$.
Honestly that would be an interesting video topic for how to support small business but also balancing unreasonable pricing
I totally agree.
Holy cow that lady totally ripped you off. I can sew and there’s really nothing special about hemming to warrant both items being over $100!
The trousers look cocoa powder brown to me
Second comment loveeee the bangs!
Havent bought by clothes in 1 year and a 1 month!
the thumbnail the first thing was the bangs wtf
Shortening the straps on the denim dress, even if just temporarily, wonder if that would have helped. Would help with the huge cutouts under the arms as well (unless that's a preference). Shortening up necklines with a gusset in back can work too, basically fold into pleats and tack-stitch. All easier jobs for the less sewing savvy of us (and can be done by hand or machine)
Other thing to keep in mind with tailors, labor is not cheap. But I'd presume most folks have a rate for the consult and either per piece, per alteration type, or per hour, and all of that should be requestable. Part of the reason fast fashion is so cheap is because the folks aren't getting payed fairly, and adjusting to the 'skilled labor equals $$' mindset is an adjustment
I cataloged my whole wardrobe on Whering. I prefer the UX and UI of it a lot more than Indyx.
I have a white pair of pants that are basically see through and have been trying to find a sustainable way to dye them so I get more wear out of them
As someone with experience sewing, that price sounds reasonable for the time and energy, especially fitting it on you.
that's so interesting bc I have never paid this much. all the times I have had things hemmed it was half that price. I'm all for paying people fairly for their time but that just doesn't fit into my budget as a regular solution in that case and I assume it's the same for many people. So here's to learning myself haha
