If you like him you would so love deadsouth. They do a lot of really good stuff. Not just gutar tho. All string instrument. They did a single together called Jonny's boys bones.
Devil makes 3 amazing band graveyard chained to the couch, and the bullet.
Milk carton kids. Indie band two guys. Play the softest most elegant picking I ever heard. Just search up snake eyes or ashville sky's. Make you cry

I thought it was a cool touch that after he said “I put three rounds in Kate McCannon” he does three strong kick drum beats in quick succession as if to represent the three gun shots.

Ha that’s awesome you mention that cause that’s what I tell everyone too. That little detail. Also in the studio recording he gets real quiet and the music builds up until he says ‘I put 3 rounds...’showing his mind is stirring and he’s getting more and more pissed. And my last name is also Wall so that’s an added cool factor.

The fact that he is ready to move foward and make her an honest women 4. In tangent to his pay he saved she is worth enough to save a quarter of his pay and 5 tells the reason as to why all the rage built up when he seen her with someone at the place they fell in love

I love the way the intensity of his guitars playing swells in intensity in the pause between “founder her with some other lover” and “so I put three rounds into Kate McCannon”. To me, it’s like feeling the rage build inside him as he sees it. Also, there’s a point in the outro when he hits the kick drum three times. To me, that felt like a subtle nod to the shots. Colter Wall tells just as much of a story with his playing as he does with his lyrics.

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve listened to this song, heck on my Spotify 2020 breakdown Colter Wall was my number three top artist, but there’s something just pure and visceral about how you broke down the lyrics, that just brings new meaning to the song. And I absolutely love that.

Did anyone else notice the three kicks of the drum after he mentions the three rounds? There is no kick drum after that lyric until those three kicks. The detail is insane, and seeing it in concert was incredible.

It honestly gives me chills every time I hear this song and he briefly pauses after softly saying he saw her with another lover... so much storytelling compacted into a few seconds without any lyrics. You can feel the broken hearted shock in his voice and the buildup of uncontrollable emotion. Crazy good.

Or last but not least Jack broadbent check him out. Especially the "black magic woman" song is amazing!
You are also amazing i will keep watching your videos! I started playing when i was 30 so i im a very late starter. Im now 35 never had any lessons it goes very well so far. Learned to read tabs on the internet when i began. That helped alot. Your videos will also help me alot to get better. Thank you for you cool and awesome videos.

OK, I've only come to your channel recently through your Colter Wall and Tyler Childers reactions. You oooze passion for the musicality and musicianship of the song, not to mention your subtle yet tasteful technical breakdown of the guitar playing. I would love to hear your reaction to a few tunes by Derek Trucks. The first is "The Storm" by Tedeski Trucks Band, live at the Mountain Jam and the second is "Chevrolet" in studio.
