This podcast made me check out Colter. That led to Childers and subsequently "Whitehouse Road" and "Nose On The Grindstone" and now I am fucking HOOKED.
If you like those I recommend checking out Whiskey Myers, Brent Cobb, Turnpike Troubadours, and Zach Bryan. Maybe even Chris Stapleton though he's more mainstream country than the outlaw/Appalachia/old school country sounds of the others.
@@karooom5191 That's BS. The industry has turned art into something ugly. If people tried to do art for arts sake instead of art for profit the good art would float and sell and the bad art would drown and die!
I'm so happy Rogan knows who Colter Wall and Tyler Childers are, especially Colter. Colter is so unique. I wish folk music were mainstream instead of pop country they play on the radio now.
Because the masses don't enjoy it. Johnny Cash is a legends, but if 75% of the people who wear him on a t shirt actually listened to him, they wouldn't enjoy him. That's just how it is, sadly.

@@briang-hs6mr Definitely more niche. If this was Cash era though, dude would be a legend. As it stands, I think he's still one of the best acts in music and he is doing top notch traditional country. Too bad the cowboy mystique isn't in right now.
Been a Tyler Childers fan since bout 2017. Him and Jason Isbell are head and shoulders above everyone else, in my opinion. Isbell fan since the Truckers days.
See i feel like chris stapleton beats both of them boys, not only in song writing but also singing, the dude is the greatest singer in country music hands down, and his music is amazing.
Post Malone saying there's no way he could ever cover Colter Wall is something we really need to acknowledge. Post is a very talented and famous musician himself, he gave his props to Colter like that which is very substantial.

Hey, thanks for posting the video! how did you find out about Colter Wall? I’m from rural Manitoba and my mind is blown that I haven’t heard of this guy
Country music today seems so thin and lifeless. Like it doesn't even take itself seriously, not many deep or meaningful songs at all. I can't stand that guy last named flats. And the radio where I live will wear a song out, playing it 5 times in a damn work day. Radio is so much trash around here.
A lot of them are just phony wannabe badass’s. It’s kind of old and pathetic quite frankly. But that’s why truly genuine performers that are special and unique stand out when they come along in the first place. There’s nothing phony about Colter Wall. He’s the real deal both personally and professionally. It’s kind of refreshing when it occurs. Doesn’t happen often.
Whoever did the subtitles.. re think your life
No doubt! It seems like a bad translator app translated it and retranslated the lyrics.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😂😂😂😂😂
Does Spotify have auto subs pretty sure that’s what it is
😂😂
😂
Stumbled on Colter Walls music about 4-5 years ago, been a huge fan since.

The brewery sessions are even better some how. Colter is one of my favourite country singers now.
They just sound so well. Much better than his regular albums.

Lol!! 😆
They can probably still feel a voice like Colter's
Why Coulter Wall isn't at the top of the country charts, I will never ever understand.

Colter is badass Canadian. Real deal. Love em. Snake mountain blues is rad
Colter is the real deal.
We in Saskatchewan🇨🇦 love his music. Our Mennonite roots go back to a different time.

In a great place now IMO. Carried heavily by Zach, Tyler, luke and co. Morgan and Lainey get shoutouts too.

The song isn’t about love. It’s about obsession and it’s perfect.
need a post childers wall crocket album
Crockett needs to be mentioned more
Been listening to both of these fuys for last 2 years now
Billy strings is where it’s at
Colter is even better live.
If only joe listened to the original 16 recording session of this song. It’s so much better live.
Bruh this song is fire 🔥
Colter Wall is more country then the ground he walks on man. i heard he smoke a brisket just by singing to it.
These two guys have more talent than everyone on cat country combined.
Appreciate you showing the timestamp
Rogan is 100% right. Outlaw country is the original gangster rap
I always found that "bounce" mad you feel like you were watching a horse trot if that makes sense
LMFAO the subtitles are ATROCIOUS!!! fucking hilariously badd
What song is this 😮!
Dude the subtitles are hilariously wrong.

Never hear him on the radio. He’s huge.
The Americans love him.
There are other unknown artists as well, one a farm girl with red hair from Alberta.
I hear Tom Waits when I hear this. Gravel throat. Sparse guitar
And the fact colter was only 22 when he recorded this.
Need to do an AI version where they use the subtitles 😂😂🤣🤣
Literally all the lyrics are wrong
I’d listen the Tyler Childers sing the phone book
Wait until they find out about Charlie Crockett.
Any time Joe Rogan doesn't speak I like his show.
Fire the subtitle writer now
I miss fat Post
Cody jinks is also good
Thank you! No one ever mentions him but go over to his Adobe Session album and take your pick tbh

My grandpa had Johnny Cash as his favourite musician, and then I have Colter Wall.
my parents in that space was Charlie Major.
