      The man is using a 1936 Walter with no rod. Tuned down 2. There’s no way to recreate this sound. Besides the fact that his influences are people we don’t know. He was a city boy that won’t do interviews because he’s working the ranch. Talk about an inspiration for a California boy that doesn’t belong here.

I have no ear for notes and junk and I haven’t been able find that little lick in any tutorial online. He does it in the second chorus of his recorded version on imaginary Appalachia. I know every single note of this song except that lick and you just unknowingly taught me how to do it just by trying to copy him for a second. Colter plays alot of his songs with his guitar tuned a full step down with a capo on the second fret.(might not be in this song) this essentially is standard tuning. why does he do this?? my guess it that it allows standard tuning but allows it buzz and slap a little. Also, i know hes not a very big guy, ive seen him live, i think it allows him to play easier with smaller hands. just my guess

    • @jakeruiz7421
      @jakeruiz7421 4 роки тому +3

      Full step down would be capo four. Which is what this song is. Kate Mccanon is half step down capo’ed 2nd fret for standard tuning. And yes...the loose tension allows the rattle and buzz giving it the old school vibe.

    Colter wall is original in a very talented artist.Luke Combs has it right when he sings we don't need no more pretty boys singing everybody else's song and pretending to be country.
    Country music is not country music today!
    Colter wall is a modern-day Waylon Jennings!
