Awesome painting Andrew! Your production quality is at such PRO level now, showing how much work you've put in over the years studying video and sound yet it watches effortlessly. The way you narrate it is always eloquent and pleasant to listen. It's so inspiring to see your journey! I'm a big fan.

I LOVE watching the process! I will never get tired of it. Taking plain linen canvas, then magically, with something as innocuous as paint, make it come alive and magically transform into something that looks 3-D. So brilliant, thanks Andrew!!

Shaun, I find keeping a small sketch book with me along with pencil, eraser, & sharpener let me catch a few minutes here & there drawing something nearby has sharpened my skills a great deal. It doesn’t have to be great works, just quick sketches will do. This trains your eyes & hand coordination & attention to images. This is also a great place to try different mediums or an approach to an image. Try it for a year. Try to draw at least once a week. Then see how you develop a skill. Good luck. Keep it up!

@@ednakrueger1975 thanks Edna, im like a sponge at the moment trying to soak up as much advice as i can. I never considered myself an artistic person but after almost 60 years its like i discovered a part of myself thats so excited to be 'set free' . Painting was always one of those 'i could never do that" interests for me, until the day i just 'tried'. Now im one of those 'wow! did i just do that!' people. lol

You said pay attention to the masters who came before you...well you're it! You're the master I'm learning from. I am a detail perfectionist and can't help it no matter how hard I've tried to "loosen up". I think I'm that way in all manners of life, so I love and accept myself and truthfully LOVE the details in Nature! You're awesome!

re: level of detail and getting carried away: I sometimes think that your blocked-in painting is perfect for a nearly finished loose style and painterly product, (and could probably sell as is) but then, when you add the layers, I succumb to the detail and depth! Thanks again for a great view of close up work- it really informs us so much!

Hello Andrew. I have been an Artist for over 45 years. Naturally, at the age of 6, I wasn't that great. As a matter of fact, my daughter is now 6 and she way better than I was. L.O.L
I work with pencil and have always had a hunger for oil painting. I have become a big fan of your's and Sam's.. Your pictures are absolutely amazing. Your videos are extremely helpful.
They answer so many questions and I slowly come out of this dark room of the unknown. Thanks a great deal.

Andrew I loved how you capture the colors that water has from light coming through. One place I saw this effect was when I visited the Niagara Falls on the boat that goes right up to the area where the water spills over the edge. I looked up & saw that transparent turquoise blue coming over the falls. Nature is so inspiring!! If you ever come to the United States you must see Niagara Falls, the Grand Canyon & other canyons north of there, The Tetons, Rocky Mountains, & the shores on the west & east coast. This world holds endless beauty. I’m so glade you are recording it with your art. That’s what we artists do.

I finally finished watching Epic Milford by Andrew Tischler. I paint figures and portraits and I was looking to find something different to spark my creativity. In short, his video was well worth the money and it gave me so much information and inspiration. I think that anyone who paints or art collectors considering purchasing his work, whether your preference is landscape or figures or whatever you do, should spend the money on this video. It’s well worth it and it gives you a great insight to the amount of work it takes to make a painting as good as Epic Milford. A few takeaways are, “Save your tonal best for last,” “Dagger Brushes” (I bought a few and they changed my life) and by video 3 I figured out that I can make a good drinking game for every time he says “Quinacridone Magenta.” I don’t think the alcohol affected how much I learned from this video series though. 😊 With all that said, A much deserved thank you goes out to you Mr. Tischler for not only the videos I pay for, but for your free videos on UA-cam as well. You’re very generous with your talent. This is not a paid endorsement. This is straight from the heart.

Must admit that I really admire your patience and process. End result is fantastic despite of what style someone prefers.
I just have to say something, that comment that you work with wide choice of brushes is something really important. When I was starting out it was pretty fast for me to get some nice results and paintings. But I would work on plenty of them with 1-2 brushes, and often with just 1 on specific part of painting, sea for instance. No matter how you turn it you can't create as much difference in brush marks as you can with more brushes and noticed when I started using more different brushes those marks added lot of interest to the paintings. If you do same marks all over the painting it can make it bit dull and even. And nature is random
Thank you for this great video

I've been struggling with trying to find my own "unique style" as it seems every great artist is supposed to have one. I am beyond impressed, and with the use with the sizes of the brushes, all of the references and skill set with masterminding the composition with the reference photos combined, make for a really great painting. It takes time to develop as per the layering, thanks for the ratios, I just bought into the liquin as a medium support for flow, and will be careful 25%,to even to know what colors to work with. I cant stand it when a painting cracks or yellows as is so much work to fix. Great work as always!! I am painting fabric at the moment, for a change of mediums, I will attempt this on a smaller canvas for practice, Thank You so much again.

I really appreciate you share your knowledge and experience. Can't state that enough, also, the wet rock, glimmering sheen, has been the bane of my existence lol, like really bad, I have literally gone over one commission so many times, for that Hawaii island rock scene, and while the customer loved it, I didn't, because I felt it was not sheen or shiney enough from water reflection standpoint. This video helps me ALOT. So a lot of thanks!!! I have been a fan and on your email distro for many years, I may have been quiet in the remarks section lately but a lot going on, you have my appreciation on your channel and efforts. Thank you!
