Omg thanks for uploading this!!! My gran had this on VHS and I used to watch it when I was smaller- along with several other monty python interviews. My gran was obsessed with them! How ever when she died my mom saw no reason to hang onto them and threw about 7+ hours of footage out!! I remember watching this very one- always Jonathan Ross at the start! Your channel is amazing as I am finally seeing all these interviews and clips from my childhood- much love
I really wasn't expecting a babby-faced Noel Fielding to crop up repeatedly at the end. Izzard, sure, he's all over Python, but Fielding was a bolt from the blue.
NOBODY expects a "babby"-faced Noel Fielding to crop up repeatedly at the end! His chief weapon is naive eccentricity... and a certain flamboyant vibrance -- TWO weapons! ..
I remember watching this at the time - An interesting period for the Pythons as they weren't really getting on leading up to their 30th. Eric Idle was especially at odds and angry over the falling through of first the new film, then the 30th anniversary stage tour.
Dear sir, Writing as a member of the Python cult, I plan to contract a disease, throw up and fall over backwards on railroad tracks waiting for the 5:20 to Ipswich. - I've a big botty (Mrs.)
Jonathan Ross has been a household name in the UK since the 80s. They didn't just pluck him out of thin air for this program cos he has a similar speech impediment.
Thank you, gentlemen. You taught me something. Now I have ANOTHER question: "How is it that my question went unanswered for two and a half months and then suddenly the two of you answer on the SAME day within 1 hour of each other?"
The male moviegoer in the ivory-cream sweater with the shoulder-length blonde hair at about 22:30 is the very talented actor Noel Fielding who plays the extremely eccentric character, Richmond Avenal ( theitcrowd.wikia.com/wiki/Richmond_Avenal) in the very entertaining sit-com called the I.T. crowd. You would have to see him without the makeup to be able to recognize him, but the voice is so distinctive.. I really love the Pythons... I hope that they enjoy a long life of wacky joy with abundant health and prosperity.
Noel is known for rather more than his small part in The I.T. Crowd. What about his stand-up, The Mighty Boosh and being a regular captain on Never Mind The Buzzcocks? I was lucky enough to meet him briefly when I was in the front row of the audience at a recording of ...Buzzcocks. Nice guy.
I wondered why he would be doing a vox pops in a 1999 Comedy Central TV show, way before the Boosh was a thing. Turns out he was in a 1998 Comedy Central TV show called "(Un)natural Acts" which featured comics (and material) which was later re-worked and added to the Boosh show. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unnatural_Acts_(TV_series)
I was waiting for Johnathan to say "the wittle wascal has spiwit!"
Or "welease bwian"
Wonderful upload ! Fell in love with these guys at 9 and have never looked back. Happily, my kids have inherited the Pythophilia gene as well...
Which one is their father?
So did I, at the same age too. My parents and I watch’s the 30th anniversary special on BBC2. I’ve been a fan ever since.

AksieB best comedycrew in the universe !!!!!!!!!!!!!
You cannot beat John Cleese, he is one of the smartest men in comedy, and understands human nature.
InfernoMutant I wish someone would beat him. Hard and brutally.
0:11 "Life of Bwian".
I cracked up everytime he said it throughout the programme.
“No, no, Brian.”

Many thanks for this! Never saw this when it was originally on.
Holy Grail.... The BEST ever!
They made great decisions in their cuts. Those cut scenes were sub-Pythonesque.

The greatest biblical film of all times.
"Vewy spehshow squeening of Monty Pythons Life of Bwian". They should have had him play the roman that Palin played in the film.
Why does the host have that 'w' for 'r' speech impediment?
Did they choose him because he sounded like the Roman governor?
Jonathan Ross has been a household name in the UK since the 80s. They didn't just pluck him out of thin air for this program cos he has a similar speech impediment.
And he's the brother of a man whose portrait gets rave reviews on amazon: The famous Box Canvas Print of Paul Ross (look it up and read the comments).
Thank you, gentlemen. You taught me something.

Barnaby ap Robert
Well, if it was an urgent question, you could have googled him. I just saw the comment notification because I'm the uploader.
You obviously do not know you Jonathon Ross is. He talks like that

The Pythons, if they still performed today, would've had the balls to satirize islam.
Samson Crosswood Actually, in a way they already satirized closed thinking systems in general, including those to be found within Islam.
Nope. Cleese said not a chance when on Real Time.
Or Trumpism. Cleese hates him.
Islam has been satirised.

Ah..the British comedian with a speech impediment.
