First time I saw this, when Gilliam knocks the urn over, I couldn't stop laughing for at least 20 mins. My brother & mother thought I'd lost my fucking mind.
Kicking the urn was so spontaneous. Everyone acted as though it was unexpected, so only when the dustpan came out , and everyone was on their knees, could we realize that it had all been planned. When the vacuum came out, no one could deny that these comedic masters had fooled us all. Probably the joke was on Klein but got the rest of us as well. I was suspicious that they set the urn there in the first place....... And aren't the ashes generally sealed in an aluminum can slipped into the decorative urn, anyway ?
Cleese made a guest appearance on Cheers as a stuffy psychiatrist friend of Frasier's. Gets my vote for the best episode of the Diane Chambers era of the show.
Anyone watching this, look for the 20th MP anniversary special that came out in 1989. It's hosted by Steve Martin & features Graham's last appearance onscreen. Great tribute!
*27:20** Cleese: "Ja, vor 25 Jahre wir haben 2 Sendungen gemacht für deutsches Fernsehen. Es war ein sehr, sehr angenehme Erfahrung"* That is grammatically not correct, but the meaning is this: "Yes, 25 years ago we made 2 shows for german television. It was a very, very nice experience". But I think he don´t say "Erfahrung" (Experience) but "empfehlen" (to recommend). I think he wanted to say, it was a nice experience, but mixed it up with "empfehlen", which makes grammatically no sense. *At **27:31** Idle: "Du kannst auf diese Weise einen billigen Lacher bekommen."* That is a phrase he uses for a sketch in live shows back then, when he was asked if he can speak german. It does mean: "You can get a cheap laugh that way". Greetings from germany!
Thanks so much for sharing...I remember seeing reruns of Monty Python(along with Benny Hill of course:) as a kid...I didn't quite get it and I only understood every 5th word...but I think I sensed the genius of it:)
Tip for people wanting to watch it in sync at the end... copy the url, open VLC player, click Media and then Open Network Stream. Paste the url in there and click Done. Then use the J or K keys to move the audio back or foward 50 milliseconds. I think I found pushing the audio forward 700 milliseconds fixed it.
The German lumberjack choir sings superbly: do they have a site? The last film was the wonderful "Wind in the Willows" . Eric plays a superb ratty, especially delivering the "messing about in boats" speech and Terry Jones somehow does make himself look like a toad. completely with a "firing" tongue to snatch a fly. What on earth is the weird out-of sync dubbed speech in this doco? Any young people watching this should notice that the ending song "Bright Side of Life " is SUNG - not bellowed or caterwauled or out of pitch and tune accompanied by bashing saucepan lids - it is SUNG!
Minuto 28.
The humor of these guys was on another level to anything else we have seen on the screen. It still is.

Tom Trinchera same here! It was so unexpected I just lost it when they started cleaning it up and then the vacuum oh man!
He's brilliant, you know. OPEWATE!!!1111!!

Sadly, there will never be another comedy team like Monty Python awesome classic British comedy
we now BADLY need one
I think there was a Cheers reunion at the Aspen Festival that year. I see Ted Danson and George Wendt in the audience.

"Once a philosopher, twice a pervert."
Definitely going to have to remember that one. XD
Voltaire said that actually

And look up Cleese's eulogy at Chapman's memorial service. You'll fall out of your seat laughing, guaranteed.
Yeah, that one is great ^_^
Es emocionante cuando Gilliam dice :más allá de toda la gente que pudo colaborar...TODO esto lo hicieron SEIS personas.😘😚😍
