Thanks for the great review as always!
I've decided to give these a go as a snack to compliment two shakes a day for breakfast and lunch. Obviously not expecting them to taste like sweets, is more about knowing the snack isn't junk and terrible for me. Stumbled on your Huel reviews yesterday and a big fan, subscribed!
gald you enjoyed - as "snack bars" they work really well... and they taste ok...
Thank you for the review! Gonna try these myself!
Great review thank you i will get myself some
I skimmed over parts of this video so I'm not sure if it's been discussed but it's worth mentioning that if you do plan to use Huel on a long term basis then the cost difference between less frequent and more frequent deliveries of the same quantity over a time period is quite large. I've put an order in for 8 boxes of the bars and its about 10% cheaper per bar than ordering 4 boxes with them being £1.07 or so each.
I will try the two flavours you recommended here. I was ordering chocolate orange(which tastes really nice heated) and salted caramel
Thanks to your review, I'm going to give these a go. Pretty steep, because you have to buy two boxes at a time. I like the Huel brand, though. Really enjoying the Hot Huel - think I like all of the flavours.
Buy your normal subscription and add a single box at the end of the checkout. I bought a single box. Worth it.
"It's not like a Reece's" 😂
That tickled me.
after trying my recent huel product delivery, i think ive decided your videos are on the money for me. I think your experiences/opinions chime with mine, the shakes have a texture, which I do not mind, but can see some being put off, however, a few hours left in the fridge softens it up a little. Banana (snack shake) and salted caramel (black edition) are great flavoured shakes, the chocolate fudge brownie (snack shake) and cinnamon swirl (black edition) less so. I do really like the hot and savoury meals i've tried so far, cajun pasta and madras, not opened the mexican chili yet. Just made another order today to get stocked up on shakes and hot n savouries... i'm not a vegetarian, but love that they also make introducing vegan/vegetarian meals into your diet soooo easy for those who struggle with the overwhelming information overload and interactions and bioavailability issues around micronutrients etc. The ordering amounts/prices are an issue, but the per meal cost is very good regardless of who you are, considering what exactly you are getting. I think i am a hueligan now i love the whole idea behind the meals and so far have had nothing but a pleasant experience dealing with and ordering from huel
Possibly if I'm out on the bike but home and work prob use the shake n savoury
Maltrotextrin Has a very high Glycemic idenx and is a Non-labeling obligation sugar
Reese cups are awesome 💚
Been tempted by the Huel protein edition (Huel black).
I use Huel Black edition, partly for the added protein. It tastes "ok"... they're better tasting meal replacement products, but the science & nutritional make up of Huel is what I like.
If you live in the US, the Peanut butter black flavor is amazing.
They don't have the laxative effect anymore. They don't have the problematic polyols ingredients, or glycerin, glycerol, maltitol... I got those effects (mostly super uncomfortable bloating) when I used three to five bars per day, but that was years ago. Now, most of the brands don't have that problem, and I still eat three to five per day, (the 400kcal ones, so their my main nutrition for the day sometimes) no problem at all. Just like when I use the powders.
;)
Huel just mention it on their site, so thought worth mentioning.
@@CliveIllenden oh, I know. But that used to be for older versions with those ingredients.
Fortunately, the industry moved away from those, and most of the bars don't carry that warning on the label anymore. Some still have glycerol as humectant, but they don't abuse its use anymore.
Yeah, I'm kinda of a bar freak 😅 I used and tried lots of them, always finding the brand that didn't have that effect. Now it's easier 🙃
@@mr.floppy thanks for pointing out. I notice they actually say you can have up to 5 bars a day and that "the ingredients used are based on fibres that break down slowly so as to avoid laxative effects" 👍
@@CliveIllenden glad to be helpful.
Keep the good job! 👍🏻
The downside is that they use Brown Rice syrup, it’s very high in glycemic index (98) will spike your blood sugar through the roof.
I had 5 in a day once 😅
I see the oats alright.
What are the base ingrediants that you can taste? Also, were you okay having 2 a day?
It's basically the oat flour textture. Yes, fine to have 2 a day now and then. I have sometimes.
Just tried two flavors of these and they are beyond disgusting, so I'm stuck with two boxes I'm not going to eat. Looking for an alternative now.
I know the feeling! I would definitely recommend skipping those ones.
😂 😂 😂
I'm far from a picky eater but these bars taste so bad to me I can't even finish a full one.
Me too... If - if I was trapped in a cave but I had some of these, I'd still hold out for three days before forcing myself to eat one.
@@TheMOV13 for real. They're absolutely disgusting.
Couldn't agree more bought these for Hill walking and felt ill from how bad they tasted, however I do love the shakes from huel.
Are you stoned when you do these reviews?
They taste like garbage
