Update on my neighbor with the liver transplant. He is doing much better now, but he can't do too much at all. He is not to lift more than 10 lbs, so we cut his grass and trim his trees and keep up his yard for him. The other day, he was trying to change the blades on his mower and when I saw him under the mower, I hurried and made him stop and did it for him. He said it is boring in the house and it was something that needed to be done. We will be there for him.
But we didnt SEE her crying, did she? Did she come out and cry after seeing the amazing work and thank him. We didn't see that this time in video. Its sad.
Depends on your neighbors. I was down 2 years ago with a bad back injury. I was down for 6 months. My neighbor mowed my entire lawn every week when he mowed his. Even weed wacked every few weeks. I can't thank him enough. He refused payments.
That's what happens when you have this hyper-individuality, "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" mentality. No, no, we have to start helping eachother. We are a community. We live in a society. Everyone needs help sometimes.
Gotta be careful who you help, though. It’s a lot smarter to help a complete stranger one time than it is to help the next door neighbor. The neighbor will suddenly need help with EVERYTHING… and fully expect you to do it! Otherwise you become a jerk who isn’t genuine. “Only nice when it’s convenient.”

Hello Spencer, my mom and I have enjoyed your channel for quite a while, and we truly admire the positive impact you've had in helping others. My mom kindly suggests that you wear a mask when blowing excess dust and soil to ensure your safety. Cheers, and may your kindness continue to touch many lives! 🙌🏻
@@kerolokerokerolo I think some of the people who do these videos must have allergies because they wear more than just a mask. They also wear protection for their eyes and ears. I am sure it makes it uncomfortable when it is really hot. I must admit, when I was doing my own yard work, I did none of those things. My yard never got this out of hand. Now I am old and in a townhouse with a small patio area I can’t keep in good shape. Lots of people need help that can’t be seen from the street or alley (if your location has alleys; mine doesn’t). All the parking is behind the townhouses, so there is an alley of sorts in my situation. Single family houses don’t.
@@enid0momEast protection isn't for allergies, it is too protect your hearing, lawn maintenance equipment is loud enough to damage your hearing if you don't use ear protection, I used to be a landscaper and the company requires us to use ear plugs for that reason, they also gave us safety glasses for when trimming and blowing.
@@12369ja I know that. Safety glasses keep grass from getting your eyes. It happened to my Dad one time. Ear plugs protect your hearing from the loud gas engines on the equipment you use. A respirator can protect you from fumes AND the things that trigger allergies in many people. Most homeowners, including me, don’t use those things, but we should. I was trimming the edge of my lawn one time and the blade hit a stone that shattered the rear glass on my minivan. (Laugh if you want, I LOVED that thing.) I don’t want to think what it would do to my eye. I got A LOT more cautious about safety when I worked for a workman’s compensation insurance company. They drilled it into employees.
There will always be someone to take advantage of a kind person. I know Spencer most likely knew what the neighbor was doing but seeing when people are genuinely grateful for the fact that he would do something for free to help them and their neighborhood out is always heart warming. You deserve nothing but the best Spencer! You’re appreciated for your hard work.
@nickmoney most likely she was just excited. To see Spencer in their neighborhood. She knew Spencer was kind. She watched his UA-cam. Did she take advantage of it. God only knows. God Bless You and God knows every single thing.
Just curious why U would leave so much cut grass on the lawn to end up suffocating the lawn to die ? I have an associate's degree in landscape and construction design, along with golf course management, and this would have gotten a failing grade if this was left in those conditions. U do an awesome job of helping out the neighborhood s. U definitely are a blessing. Have a great weekend Spencer.
Wrangling that mower over all those big, stalky weeds out back looked like a hellava workout! Who knew mowing the back would require so much muscle. Looked kinda fun in a way
These videos absolutely PISS ME OFF!!! I can't stand them. I'm not mad at you SB or the homeowner, I'm pissed at the neighbors. You can obviously tell that they need help and there lawn is getting out of hand and making the neighborhood look bad. For the next door neighbors all they have to do is when they are mowing is keep walking in a straight line and help. Like what the hell is wrong with people. I've done it a few times for my neighbor without a second thought. Thanks for letting me rant and please keep doing what your doing. It's hell out here and we all need to help each other through this hell of a life.
".....all they have to do is when they are mowing is keep walking in a straight line and help...." It is NOT always that easy. Often the pride of the neighbour ( that needs the help ) WILL get in the way. I know - I have a neighbour I tried to help. After mowing his lawn several times for him ( it was fine with his wife, but not with him ), he demanded to pay me. I politely refused ( I didn't want to become an employee, again, at my age !) and told him I was doing it to help a friend. He still said no. So, their lot is "that lot" on our street, now..... You can't always help people that refuse it. Earlier this year I gifted him with a little used, self propelled mower in like new and good working condition ( to take a lot of the physical, pushing effort out of the job ), and he just seldom uses that, too, which gets the lawn back to the problem of being very overgrown and hard to cut, again, even with a self-propelled mower... Like I said, you can't help those that refuse the help.
@@voiceofreason7856 I had a neighbor like that so I settled on them paying for the gas. They would go out and fill their gass tank and I would use that and we were able to amicably come to an agreement.
One time I had neighbors that reported me to the city because the yard hadn't been mowed for a couple of weeks. It wasn't even a foot tall. My mower had broken, they couldn't pick it up for a few days and it took almost two weeks to fix and deliver it back to me. These people (I called them the Kravits - the nosy neighbors from the Bewitched tv show) they should have known I always mowed but no they ran to the city rather than check to see if I needed help. I had to call the city and explain that the mower would be delivered by the end of the week. My goodness. That's why I so appreciate you and what you do. Thank you. I try to be nice to my neighbors and if I see a problem I check with them first. I have found I have some pretty nice neighbors.
I don't know how you live next to someone like this and don't try to help them in some way even if it is selfishly for the appearance of your own neighborhood?!? What a world we live in when a nice guy like this does this because the neighbors on the block don't. They should be ashamed but obviously aren't.
This guy will realize he is being an idiot someday. There is never any reciprocity. You are expected to help them but they will do nothing for you. In fact, they pretty much ruin everything you create. That is the kind of neighbors you get in America.
so for months my wife is talking to me about these mowing videos... I'm like, wtf... why the hell would you watch someone just mowing lawns... ok... whatever. Cut to 6 months later I stumble onto SB Mowing channel... ok what's this.... now watching consistently!!! great work.

@13lueBomber Well, he does this for a living. It's because of the youtube and patreon support that he can do it for these people for free. If he wasn't getting paid at all, he could maybe do it as a side hobby once in a blue moon if he wanted to, but you gotta earn money to live somehow. He's still working hard for people and doesn't charge the person he's helping so of course he's a good person for it. Expecting someone to do it for free for their whole life is unrealistic. They need to live and survive somehow.
Wow, that was really a transformation. I did not even realize just how big the back yard was until you finished! She must have been so happy that you kept trying to reach her to mow and edge her yard for her! Thank you, Spencer, for all you do!
The neighbors think it is none of their business. People today don't look after each like they used to. My neighbor who was elderly and died had her house sit vacant for 1 year until the contents could be removed by a distant relative. I offered to keep the lawn mowed as they didn't have a lawn service. One day as I was cleaning her yard, a male neighbor came over and told me to stop or he would call the police. He said I shouldn't be doing that as it was the lawyers' responsibility as he had control of the property. All calls to him went unanswered. The yard made the house look abandoned and likely to be broken into. After my husband had a few words with that man, I continued to maintain the yard. But none of the neighbors offered to help.
You never know the situation. My next door neighbor's yard is like this. I "helped" them using my mower and gas for 4 years. They didn't try to help themselves and never offered to fill the tank with gas. After 4 years of being helpful, I stopped. Now I just live next to a mess.

There could be reasons why the neighbors don't help out. For instance, my neighbor on my driveway side has about 3 feet of grass. He'll mow everything else when he has to, but in 7 years, he never mowed that strip. If I didn’t do it every now and then, it wouldn't get done. Well, guess what! He put the house on the market and then he mowed that side! So it's not because he wasn't able.......

What an amazing transformation, Spencer! It just blows my mind how both homes on either side were well manicured. Unless they have hired lawn care, they clearly had mowers. Did they not offer to help her out? If that were me I'd be over there offering to help. Hopefully because of people like you, Spencer, people will start getting back to helping each other. Thanks for all the work you do!
@@TomSnyder-gx5ru Just speaking for myself, I find if I set boundaries it's not usually a problem. I will say I can help you out this time or the next couple of times until they find a solution. If it gets to where it seems like they are taking advantage, then I'll let them know I can't do it for free anymore. I don't mind helping but they will have to pay me to cover my time/gas. I have found that people who truly are appreciative & are in a bind, usually won't have a problem with that.
Many people work, some long hours, some commute long drives, when you have only your limited spare time to take care of your own property, there may not be enough time left to do a neighbors lawn, especially once it gets out of hand. Our city offers tools on loan to residents for situations like these, a deposit is required, but refundable if returned in good condition.
I have a disabled son and my husband is 100% disabled vetran my neighbor sees I am busy with them so much of my time that she steps up and mows for me so I gave her my riding lawn mower to help her be able to continue she had helped me so much. I feel very blessed by her help and she brings me eggs too
With the garage door being open a little bit means that someone likely broke into the house at some point while it was sitting abandoned. I always tell people to lock their garage doors to the rails and kill the power to the opener if the house is going to be unoccupied longer than a week. Garage doors are a surprisingly vulnerable entry point in most houses.
I had a friend that thought if her garage door was closed, NO ONE could get into it., so she NEVER locked the adjoining door to the house ( that was at the back of the garage ) because of that.....Talk about silly.
Sometimes it is hard to ask for help or offer to help, especially when it is your neighbors. We never know what someone's struggles are and how they may react when asked. These kind gestures leave such a positive impact and hopefully opens up the community about helping more. Thank you for helping her and for doing it for free.

Hello Spencer, my mom and I have enjoyed your channel for quite a while, and we truly admire the positive impact you've had in helping others.

Cheers, and may your kindness continue to touch many lives! 🙌🏻
You and your mom sound like really nice and genuine people!
I was thinking the same watching this! If I were doing this, I'd wear a mask when blowing the dust
Gotta admit that you had me in the first half.
@@voiceofreason7856 very true. You did your part!
By the time they realize what is going on and can contact the homeowner, it might be too difficult for an ordinary mower.
@@voiceofreason7856 I had a neighbor like that so I settled on them paying for the gas. They would go out and fill their gass tank and I would use that and we were able to amicably come to an agreement.

"It's Spencer! The guy from You Tube!" said with much adoration. Yeah, there's nobody like you, Spencer. Take care.
That means a lot! Thank you!
You're welcome.
Turns out he's a spunk too
One time I had neighbors that reported me to the city because the yard hadn't been mowed for a couple of weeks.
I'm like, wtf... why the hell would you watch someone just mowing lawns... ok... whatever. Cut to 6 months later I stumble onto SB Mowing channel... ok what's this.... now watching consistently!!! great work.

Well, he does this for a living.

Makes me sad that her neighbors all have well manicured lawns and have not attempted to help her😢. Be a good neighbor people!
Hopefully people are learning from Spencer’s kindness that it is rubbing off on the rest of us be kind one to another❤️❤️❤️
ok ,one time sure but every week or month ,come on men no one is that good
Depends. Some get upset if you offer to help
You never know the situation. My next door neighbor's yard is like this. I "helped" them using my mower and gas for 4 years. They didn't try to help themselves and never offered to fill the tank with gas. After 4 years of being helpful, I stopped. Now I just live next to a mess.

Amazes me how many neighbors don’t help each other out. They would just complain about it instead of helping out. SMH
Oh, wow! That is so true. 😔
True
There could be reasons why the neighbors don't help out. For instance, my neighbor on my driveway side has about 3 feet of grass. He'll mow everything else when he has to, but in 7 years, he never mowed that strip. If I didn’t do it every now and then, it wouldn't get done. Well, guess what! He put the house on the market and then he mowed that side! So it's not because he wasn't able.......

Did they not offer to help her out? If that were me I'd be over there offering to help. Hopefully because of people like you, Spencer, people will start getting back to helping each other. Thanks for all the work you do!
In my experience, once you start to "help" mow their yard it becomes "expected!"
