    Nice Strat. I remove all the tone controls from Strats; they interfere with the sound of the pickups too much. The pickups sound fuller and crisper without the controls. If you don't like the sound of your pickups, try eliminating the tone controls before going out and spending money on new pickups. EVH said that your pickup selector is your tone control. I tend not to use neck pickups by themselves on any of my guitars.

    Hey Great Vanzinni!
    Strats are my main guitars, and I have one similar to yours there. Mine is a 2007 VG Strat. Basically, it's a standard Strat with additional electronics from Roland. It does not have the S-1 Switch like yours, but the dimensions are still the same. It has the contoured heel, and the Modern "C" shaped neck, which feels more like a "D" shape in my hands. It's not one of my favorite neck profiles. I prefer the older, vintage neck profiles which have more of a smooth curve around the back.
    I agree with you about the craftsmanship in the newer Fender guitars though, it's very high quality. The standard Strat pickup configuration is probably the most popular. Also, The neck is finished on the back with a satin finish instead of the high gloss that the vintage guitars have. I'm not too crazy about that either, it kind of feels like someone smeared something on the back of the neck. Even with all that, it's still pretty easy to play.
    What's your take on that?

    • @greatvanzini
      @greatvanzini  4 роки тому

      Hey Harley! As I have gotten older I find myself liking a Satin type neck too. Oh! I almost bought a VG kit years ago. I ended up with a Godin/ Roland synth guit. This one feels very easy to play but also very similar to some of my Strats. I don't know if I'm just lucky but almost all of my Fenders have come in great shape right from the factory. & the used ones, well I think I have been lucky or picky. Always wanted one (more) with a bucker in the bridge. Don't think I have one & have argued with myself about the merits. Thanks for coming by.

    Hey Great Vanzinni! Do you think that the strats tend to make you work harder than the other guitars! My 60th anniversary maple board tri colored strat plays great but , it seems to cause me to have to work harder while playing it,vs. all my other guitars. I've heard by many other guitarist, (professionals) felt the same way. They loved the tones from them but, worked them noticeably harder. I just was wanting your thoughts! Peace my friend stay safe see ya at MHH show!

      Yeah, ya know I love em & hate em! Being older my hand like the 24 3/4. I think. Actually the 25 on my SE's feel just about right. But yes I feel like for some reason I do have to work harder on Fenders, tele's too. Yet my Reverend Club King at 25.5 feels great & easy. Thinner profile I suspect. See ya on the chats.
