- Don was a local player when my late older brother met him. While talking, they discovered they both had little bro's. I was learning bass while The Great Garlu (Don's little bro) was a drummer. We went on to form our own bands. Don went on to working with Lynda Carter before her Superwoman days, The Yellow Balloon with Don Grady, along with some studio work in L.A. He played & performed for most of his life. He was a huge influence to many of us. I 1st saw one of his early bands, The Mark IV at the Sugar Shack in South Salem. It was sort of a nightclub for teens. No Alcohol. My dad took me there. He wanted to see if it was a good place for my 2 older brothers band to play at. I had just turned 13. It was the 1st time I heard the names & music of Howard Roberts, Mose Allison, etc. I fell in love with the song, Dirty Old Bossa Nova by Roberts & Satin Doll by Duke E. Don introduced me to the playing of Kenny Burrell. The stories go on & on. Don & his love of music will stay with me forever. I thank you Don, for all you've given me.
Excellent tribute. Seeing those older pics and videos brings back memories of the times.
Hi Dale. Yes indeed. He & so many others gave me a lot of great memories. I am deeply humbled by the real pro's. Thanks for stopping by.
RIP Don B. (Don Grady - Mouseketeer and Robbie Douglas on TV's My Three Sons.)
Yep, that one. He went on to do a lot of,,, I think video & music for TV & advertising. Don G passed away some years ago. Thanks for coming by, Fez.

Nice tribute GV, I haven't heard yellow Balloon in 50+ years
Hi, Steve. Thanks for the visit. Yeah, they made the charts & did bandstand. It was actually recorded (mostly) by the Wrecking Crew. He got to work with Carol K. & thought very highly of all of them.
Oh & note that one of the co writers on some songs was Dick St. John,,,,, from Dick and Dee Dee fame. Now I know I must be pushing your memory. LOL.

Hello, I've stumbled on this video. Great tribute video. Love to watch the photos - even though I didn't know Don. I am also enjoying the video clip. Fun! Great work 🙂
Thanks so much for stopping by, David. I really appreciate it. Don was such a good player, any genre. We will all remember the fun times we had.
Nice getting to know a little about you and your brothers friend. Though I wish under better circumstances. Be well Greatvanzini!
Same to you, Folken! Enjoy the moment. It may not present itself again.
This was nice. Didn‘t expect the original footage at the end of your video. 😊👍
Thanx for the lovely tribute to your friend. It‘s always sad to lose a friend.😢
Thank you very much, Georg. We've lost a lot of greats & IMO he was one of them.
You're a class act. Awesome tribute
Thank you kindly, Frank. I appreciate it.
Good tribute greatvanzini , here's to Don! Wow, I remember when bands used to look like that .. pretty slick sometimes , eh? With the matching suits and all .. great pics man , good of you to do this.
Hi, Arvon. He was deep down a pure jazzer on guitar. But that is how good he was. He could play anything & twice as fast as anyone else if needed. That was right around the time when bands just started wearing whatever. I was in those bands, LOL! Appreciate you coming by.
Ah man , I've known a few people like that too , where sometimes you just shake your head at how good they are .. yeah , sorry about your friend , all the best to you
