- To make it easier for you, I call it the "three basics" of every shortgameshot in general. In my opinion you find three main topics for putting, chipping, pitching and bunker.
So here we go starting with the chip.
What exactly those three mains are, you will see here in this video!
Have fun learning!

As always, a very detailed explanation Im sure this will be a video I return to often! Thank you Martina.
You are very welcome!
This was a very good explaination on chipping. Martina has great visuals to illustrate the movement.
Thank you very much!
I really enjoy your simple straight forward instruction
Thanks Brian. I explain things as I would explain them to myself. Why complicated if not needed :)
Thanks Martina, and for let us see golf game much easer and using good technique methods and from your great experience, thanks
You are very welcome!
Good stuff. Thanks!😊
I've just tried "nose left" and it's transformed my chipping. I've never seen the chipping stance explained this way before. I now feel like I'll never chunk a chip shot again! Thank you, thank you, thank you :-)
This is so nice to hear! Great work!!!
Your golf explanation and instructions are superb.... I hear you in my head on the course😊
Thats nice :) Glad it helps!
Hi Martina, thanks for the great tips. Now I can go out and practice by following your suggestion.
Absolutely Pete! Let me know how it works for you!
Great tips
Thank you. If you like them, share them with your friends 🙏
Great basics!!! Good reminder for me.
Thanks!!
Using ''Forward and Aft '' with regards to position of the ball includes both RH and LH players withour having to clarify. It also shows respect to LH players which is not very common to most golf teachers.
great communication skills, im getting so many questions ive had answered by watching your videos..very informative and enjoyable 😊
Thats nice to hear, very happy! In case you should have any more questions, just let me know!!!
The down slope practice test. Checking your technique. That’s a new one and one I will be using. Thanks.
Absolutely. Downslopes are the best way to practise the correct way to approach the ball! Let me know how it works!!!
explained in a super simple way..thank you
Thank you very much, glad you like it!
Super tip
Thank you!
great video, i will practice tomorrow
Please let me know Ron, how it works for you!
i will, i think it is smart too practice different clubs , yes
Thank you for the helpful video, Martina !
Was wondering what adjustments are necessary from thick grass or a ball sitting up in high grass.
Thank you again.
Well the question is always, what the lie asks for. If it sits down, you need a steeper angle of attack. If it sits up, then more shallow. There is no "one shot" for everything. As you just said, so many different situations and if you start to react on them, you get a better player. Because most try to do the same stuff in every different lie and situation!
Good stuff ⛳️
Thanks!
Thank you.
You are welcome!
well explained
Thank you very much!
Great content. Woulf you use your shoulder blades (like in putting) in addition to arms? Do you keep the lower body (no hip movement) in backsswing? Thank you
The shoulders are not enough only. The club would be travelling not far enough in the backswing. Of course you can use your arms additional to it but with the rest I would be careful otherwise you need to slow down towards the ball because you have too much speed. Two hebel are enough for chipping. And of course, if you wan to use your body rotating through the ball, if it makes you feel more compact, absolutely!
left hand ahead of right hand.... love that.
Thats my style. Glad you like it!
Hello. First, I really enjoyed your videos. My question is I noticed yiur arms are hanging not as straight and slightly bent at address. This is something i noticed in a lot of good players when chipping. Can you plz explain this? Thx
First: thank you ;) About my arms, they are hanging but I am not "straightening" them. I like having loose arms, it gets more touch and feeling for my hands...
I really struggle with knowing how far back to swing. I either under or over chip. I've been playing golf for 4 months and this is my biggest struggle.
Give yourself some time Jennifer! I've been playing Golf for 36 years now. Practise a lot, you will get the feeling soon and repetition is key!!!
Very good ! What kind of grips are you using ? Weaker , neutral or stronger grips ?
Normally I grip with the way I grip my Putter. Just because when I started playing Golf as a kid, my coach told me, that there are no wrists involved in Chipping. So I thought, I was 6 years old..., then I grip it like my putter. The difference is that the grip runs through my left hand instead of the fingers. Also my left backside is pointing more towards the target, because I would like to guide the club face with the thought my backside of the hand is the club face.... Hope that helps :)
Thaks
You are very welcome!!!
What is best way to determine landing spot relative to hole?
I am always to long or too short...
Try to variate clubs and figure out the touch you always need for a certain distance flying. I know its silly but simple: practice practice practice. And practice to hit the wanted landing point. Maybe you wanna but a little towel as an aim and try to hit it 3-5 times in a row and then change! Hope that could help!
“Rule of 12” never fails me
Whatever this rule means. But if its helps you, it's absolutely right for you!
You remind me a lot of Annika Sorenstam
Thank you! There are worse comparisons :)
Look at the guns on this girl
Jealous???? And i really doubt you're smarter than too many....
That dude’s arms are bigger than mine
Love your info! But…notice how at 1:25 you say that “left-hangers have to turn it around completely.” We wouldn’t have to if you started using “front and back” or “lead and trailing” instead. Very simple fix. Then we wouldn’t have to “turn it Around completely.” By using “left and right” you force all of us left-handers to add a translation step. So, please start adopting “front and back” or “lead and trailing” instead.
Thanks for the tipp Bill. You still have to give me some credit by not being native and I am teaching in left and right... So I am only translating. But hey, I ll try next time!
@@martina_eberl_coaching_en Much credit Martina! Absolutely love your lessons. Keep up the good work.
I think your very pretty, Sorry had to say.
Thank you very much :)
