I've noticed that people tend to spend way too much time focusing on what subgenre bands are in now. Who cares if they're death metal, grindcore, or what. It doesn't change the fact that Cephalic Carnage are amazing.
I can see both sides of the argument. On one hand it makes it easier to give a bud a clue as to what the band may sound like and whether it's up their alley or not. Or just to get a general idea of their vibe. The other is that it's this weird human compulsion to taxonomically classify and organise the "chaos" of music, with people becoming tribal to one particular "taxonomical class" and willing to argue about it's superiority...
Я познакомился с творчеством этой группы, прослушав трек Nuclear Power Trio - Grab Em by the Pyonyang. Там этот же басист играет, и играет очень круто. P.S. Я догадывался, что он представитель метал-школы, но услышать ТАКОЕ я не ожидал:)
I know this may sound strange to some people, but this song has a kind of beauty to it... I can't really describe it, but it's beautiful in it's own way and that's what makes it good music.
Havent listened to em in a very long time but was cleaning out my closet because im moving and found a bunch of my old cds and am going through them and GEEZ I FORGOT HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM! Def got a necrophagist vibe going which is obviously really cool!
Jesse D.Capitation new stuff ive heard is the scrape my lungs demo im with you dude Cephalic Carnage new album now!!!! Need mix between Lucid interval and Xenosapien and go on tour with Cannabis Corpse.
one of my favourite gigs. their energy was great, and i mean i've seen dying fetus, deicide, cannibal corpse ect ect so they were really good. plus we got to play the gig too.
Drove down to Ft Worth back in about 2000 to see them with Disgorge and Deeds of Flesh with my best friend a big ol bag of weed and a bong, had an awesome time that night, super cool guys every one of them that played that night.
@@x8jason8x I was lucky enough to catch them three times between 2005-06. First time was at a garage show with From a Second Story Window and The Red Shore. Toward the end, Matt grabbed a spiral metal staircase that was behind his kit and started kicking the shit out of his cymbals. It was absolutely bonkers, everyone, crowd and band members were just going Dillinger escape plan crazy. I miss that band. Had some good chats with Earl, Matt, and Kit after the show. Talked about Goldeneye and PDAs for gaming on the road, before smartphones. Those were great times for tech metal. There was this unique air of inspiration and friendly competition between bands at that time, just trying to see who could make the most complicated shit possible. Not that I don’t enjoy metal now. It was just fun seeing everyone bringing in techniques that are commonplace now. Cheers
This isn't core. That should be obvious to any of you supposed 'experts'. No weak breakdowns, no 'screaming' vocals, technical riffs and alternating time signatures. It's death metal. Pure and simple.
This IS indeed Death Metal. Very, very technical... Like a modern version of Death had Dillinger Escape Plan been around then. No, I'm not saying any kind of "Core" sound, but the fact this song has so many timing signatures, tempos changes and intricate pieces that make up the whole in the four minutes of this song, as Dillinger used to do. This IS definitely Death Metal though, just more thoughtful and complex all around. And I love it!!! 🤘
damn this band has such deep lyrics... they smoke a lot of pot... they´re authentic and unique... their music sound like an ice skate kick in the middle ear... that is how it´s done!
You seriously need to open your mind and realise that not everyone listens to music to get some nice happy feeling. You also need to realise that just because you don't like something doesn't made it bad.
I see a lot of people arguing about the vocals on this so let me just throw this out there. 1.The vocals you hear in the beginning are called gutterals or gurgles and are not inhales or even core-ish and are VERY difficult to do properly and loudly 2.The more regular death metal vocals are still somewhat difficult to do but not nearly as much as the gutterals 3.If you think these vocals are easy then try them yourself. If it hurts or isnt louder than your regular voice, you are doing it wrong.
This band defines extreme metal...goes super sludge all the way past death grind, guy plays gravity blasts and 30 bmp on the same albums, plus lenzig's vocals have a lot of range from high to gurgle lol
I've never heard this song before (besides on a radio a few mins ago), but I recognize the riff at 1:01 that repeats a few more times, but I cant think of where I heard it from! It was probably from some comedy video like metalheads vs pop fans each handling certain situations, or a Collegehumor skit or something.
Gottah respect Cephalic Carnage, and also Cephalic from Austria, for keeping true to their pure musicianship! Other amazing, hard working bands that don't take cheap short-cuts with drum triggers etc. Include Sepultura, The Red Chord, Dead Congregation, Natrium, Mastodon, Converge, Brutal Truth, Macabre, Jungle Rot, the new Decapitated and Opeth albums and many more!
People who don't like this band = Simple-minded accountants who don't know a thing about musicianship. People who like this band = Further intellectual musicians with a good sense of humour & ear for pure (non-triggered) talent & genius.

Cephalic is so fuckin creative and talented.... I thought they would die out with this album... but it's pretty decent. The production quality owns on this album... They changed their sound for the better.
i'd throw my ideas about what genre this is into the ring but i'm afraid i'll end up with one of y'all trolls chewing my arse. i just think this is an amazingly intersting song, and it has such a good fresh sound, which is what we need in metal at the moment. new ideas to inspire new musicians to write new music.
I see these guys all the tme at local shows and have talked to them a couple of times. Good guys that refuse the let their fame pull them away from the hometown people who have supported them since the beginning.
Who can recommend these guys best song to me. I'm doing my cephalic research this week. I saw them open for Darkest Hour / bleeding through or Black Dahlia Murder or Unearth in AZ like 2004 or 5 but cant tell one song from the last.
great band , AMAZING LIVE saw them in dublin few months back such energy on stage (except the drummer but he does his thing which is cool) if anyone gets a chance to see them do , totally worth it!
It definitely was worth euros ! catchy, brutal and so much different stuff there. Not just straight forward grinding trough the album. I wouldn't mind hitting a baby either while using Vaporizer ! :D
usually have to agree, but a little sidenote, some people seem to mean tripping when they're just high as heck. then again, some folks dont see any difference between hash and leaf so the confusion might hide there aswell.
OK! I finally managed to subtitle this song. Wasn't that hard tho.. And, as I previously said, I love this song: awesome lyrics, unbelievable guitar riffs and the excellent drumming.
everybody loves to talk about "machine gun grind", but i think this song is the closest i've ever heard to sounding like an actual machine gun. Maybe "Wrong Side" by Strapping Young Lad comes closer, but sick nonetheless.
I've noticed that people tend to spend way too much time focusing on what subgenre bands are in now. Who cares if they're death metal, grindcore, or what. It doesn't change the fact that Cephalic Carnage are amazing.
I agree on that one. Subgenre arguments = splitting hairs.

thomas greeno kill for weed

Dude... as much as I understand your pain.... admit it, they deserved it.
That bass riff when the song dropped off for a second. Priceless four horns up.
I didn't notice all the time signatures shifts on this song until I started learning it on bass, they're pretty technical.

Less shallow elitist bullshit.
Not too many bands from Colorado but cephalic makes up for it.
2001 this drummer taught me how to play death metal drums, and be creative while doing. #exploitingdysfunction

the metal kills you!
Exactly. You should not judge music by their name but by the content it has to offer you. listen it, love it or leave it.
how did i just get into these guys??? where WERE you, internet/metal???
