My Steam Deck rarely leaves its official dock. My old desktop's harddrive died so I thought to use the Steam Deck as my main PC until I picked up a new HDD. Fast forward a month and the Steam Deck is still my main PC; I've switched from Windows to Steam OS and I'm happy to be here. :)

One thing reviewers don't mention is how inflexible these docks actually are (those with a cradle and a short usb-c cord attached to the dock.)... Because once you dock it, you render the Steam Deck input useless, requiring external peripherals to interact with the device. Either a computer mouse+keyboard setup or external controllers. The solution I find most comfortable and flexible are docks that offer an actual USB-C port where you can attach ANY length of usb-cable you desire. That way I can use a 3m cable and enjoy playing on the Steam Deck in my hands, with the inputs I love, while still getting the benefits of playing on a big screen.

I had a nice, all metal dock off of Amazon for $19 with more ports than the official dock, then returned it and ordered the official dock just because it gets updates from time to time, also jsaux makes a nice metal piece that goes right over the official dock so that you can still dock your deck with any case on your deck for like $13

    1) Obviously the main feature of this product
    2) Anyone considering this product knows full well there are multiple ports
    3) Solid point, although ethernet is not a major upgrade from wifi and most people won't notice a difference
    4) Yes. This is the biggest benefit of this product. Deck becomes a desktop PC
    5) You didn't know where your steam deck was and it wasn't charged. As an adult who doesn't live in a labyrinth this wasn't an issue for me

    1. Sometimes after shoting down the steam deck while down and then powering on, the speaker.ks not recognized. I need to reboot it for it to work again.
    2. The HDMI port doesn't recognize my TV sometimes, I need to disconnect the HDMI cable and reconnect it. I've been told that DP doesn't have that issue so I will give that a try.

Just as a PSA, which some or many may already know about, but when playing docked, if you use FSR it will lock to 30fps. I only just discovered this since I'm playing Human Revolution docked and noticed no matter how low I went in resolution, it stayed at 30fps. And it may be the reason why Cultic's DLC ran so poorly, which I am now going to have to check out again.
