I ordered a Steam Deck last week. This is the best video I've comes across for first things to do when it arrives. So simple yet informative! Thank you!
I watched this and your “Why the Steam Deck is Great” video. BOTH are excellent. I can see them being used as references people go back to. Chapter markers would be GREAT for this. 👍🏾👍🏾
@@kidrissa Thank you so much for the kind words! I’m really glad you found the videos helpful. That’s a great idea about adding chapter markers,I’ll definitely work on including them in future uploads. Appreciate the feedback!
😭 i want a steam deck so bad!! theres so many steam games that my laptop can barely handle i nearly bought one the other day too but i had to start on christmas shopping
You can set the resolution of your laptop as low as the steam deck, when playing a game from you lap the screen is in perspective just as big as a steam deck screen. Maybe this helps playing more games.
I believe so,and although I don't own one myself, I think you'd need to go into desktop mode only for maintenance, as all the apps and games will be in the big picture mode. (the one it usually boots you into) And if you'll want to make it feel even more like a regular handheld, then there are plenty of community made apps designed to (for example) launch right into specific games from emulators, completely change ui and such. And all of them probably have proper tutorial videos too.
Great video! Thanks for the tips. I’m wondering - if I setup EmuDeck on a microSD on mine, can I give that card to my brother to just plug and play? Or would he still have to go through some installation/setup?
Hi I'm thinking about buying Steamdeck and your video is awesome and definitely enticed me to buy it. Please, are the emulators and games available for download somewhere or would I have to buy them individually? Thank you.
A question regarding the screen protector, I have the 1TB Steam Deck Oled, and I wanted to put a screen protector on it but I read that it is better than not because this would remove the characteristics that the Oled has and that it is better not to put anything and take good care of it, but in reality I would love to be able to protect the screen, do you know of any type of protector that does not remove any characteristics or affect anything on the OLED?
look for high-quality, ultra-clear tempered glass or film protectors specifically designed for the Steam Deck OLED. These are made to preserve the vibrant colors and responsiveness of the screen. Brands like dbrand or amFilm are great options.
What physical modifications could I make to the Steam Deck to improve it's specs? Should I wait for the Deck 2? Great video, quite informative and useful! 👌
Thanks for letting me know! My tutorial is meant to be a simple guide, but if you’re having issues, you might benefit from a more detailed tutorial. I recommend checking out Retro Game Corps on UA-cam-they have excellent step-by-step guides for setting up EmuDeck. Let me know if you need any specific tips!
Decky Loader itself doesn’t brick Steam Decks if used correctly. It’s a plugin loader designed specifically for the Steam Deck, but as with any modifications, it’s important to follow instructions carefully and use trusted plugins.
Total noob question here but exactly how do I get a game to show up in an emulator? I haven’t tried it on a deck yet but I did on the Delta app on my iPhone and I could not get anything to work. I own a ton of Disc games for everything from the original PlayStation through the four, a ton of Atari games, Nintendo Wii, 64, all that. How do I prove I own them if it’s a Nintendo 64 cartridge to make it work on an emulator? I’m not seeing the connection here.
i managed to get an epic game running on my steam deck (which i also play on my pc) but unlike the steam games themselves, the game progress doesn't get transferred right ?
you’re correct! game progress for epic games titles doesn’t sync automatically like steam games do. You’d need to manually transfer your save files between devices.
@@GamingWithNeytiri Instead of using heroic there is a delisted decky plugin called NonSteamLaunchers that lets you install Epic Games, Gog, and the rest of launchers with proton compatibility layers. Cloud saves work on there as far as the game supports it. Also might want to check out Junk-Store(another plugin) which also enables Epic Games's games (and also Gog but behind a Patreon paylock)
Emulation is a major headache on Steamdeck, I’ve been using Emulators/ROMS since 2002 and and just can’t get it to work. Also, Decky doesn’t work, only 28 plugins show and not any of the good ones. And to any new owners I’d say just stick with Steam for games, launchers will make you pull your hair out, Rockstars Launcher is an absolute joke, I have to constantly install it every time I fancy a go on RDR2.
I haven’t tried it yet dude. A few of my Deck friends have told me too but I’m just enjoying my Steam library, Miles Morales and Spider-Man Remastered are excellent and don’t need a Sony/PS launcher.
