@@bradyshannon8452 I understand your point of view but the text books (from college courses) contain far greater knowledge than the regular book or info provided for free on the web. Now the bad part is some knowledge is good and some is bad and not accurate. All of my text books from college cost several hundred dollars and if the student did not need that knowledge they would not be purchased. Now some courses a student can get by but all of the hard science courses need the real text book.

The start of this video is actually a part of a longer conversation about spike in the blood sugar level.
A piece of fruit with high/higher sugar content will create a spike and that is not ideal for the body. To mitigate that, Jessie is recommending that you eat nuts before or with your fruit. The nuts have higher fiber content that will in turn coat the walls of your intestines and that will slow down the absorption of the sugars, and not lead to a sudden spike in the blood glucose level.
They're not saying don't eat fruits.

Its quite amazing to see so many people misunderstanding this video. People love to jump in with bad comments when they don't understand what they are hearing. First off, they did not say you should not eat fruit; they said limit your intake of it and research shows that is correct. More and more new information comes out everyday. I would rather hear the info and choose for myself than wish years later I could have avoided it. Fruit is NOT the fruit it used to be which was healthy and SOIL is not the same as it has been sprayed with chemicals. Stop asking for evidence and do your own research before insulting someone who did. If you want to continue your way of life and eating, then do so but do it without expressing anger at those who struggle to make the public aware of hidden health issues. Some people eat fruit and do really well as well as those who do poor with fruit. At least if you come for information on a video, expect to not be bias and hear it through. It seems many come to these videos just to argue. And as for click bait... really? The title gives an idea of the video yet YOU still clicked on it. Ask yourself why.

I do an experiment with my own body and skip the sugar. Just a few weeks later, I understand what is happening to me. Wow... I have to continue this and see where it will go. In recent years, I have been thinking more about the fact that this trip will give me a healthier old age. Her approaches and tips are sound and well explained but more than anything: PRACTICAL. With only minor tweaks to your usual diet (if it isn't utterly unhealthy), you can have great successes. I have eaten mostly fruit for 4 years now in the form of smoothies (not juice) and raw fruit - maybe about 50% in the last two years. Medical scientists would do well to test the metabolism of fructose/glucose from fruit (Shop bought or wild) or fructose from processed food. There is is huge difference in my experience. Ie after losing weight dramatically the first three weeks, I put on no fat whatsoever despite eating bins worth of fruit - 6 pints a day. However as soon as I switched to processed sugar fructose, I put on fat. While I was trying to get rid of migraines every four days, there were other collateral benefits - didn't get a virus, IBS went, psoriasis went, night sight improved, nasal polyps shrank by 80%, post nasal drip abated, on the 4th day all stiffness and heaviness in the body goes..you get right out of bed and walk. The downsides were dental caries during lockdown..however these were ONLY because dry fruit eg dates, mangos etc were getting stuck between my teeth and I needed to be told to gently water floss between the teeth each day (no caries in 2 years since starting this practice). I had a thorough blood test done on the 2nd year and all parameters were within normal including Vitamin B that fruit lack. While it is a big push to do just fruit, and I'd only recommend it if you are really chronically ill, at least all of us could eat higher percentage. I used modern fruit varieties despite their being bred and possibly? having lost some useful components.
I am sure that there is a difference in the way natural fructose and all other sugars in fruit are metabolised in the body compared to the way processed sugars are. I urge the medical scientists to research this. My prediction would be that you would have a huge backlash against your findings but stick with it and you would be known as a paradigm-breaker within your field later in life.

Fructose is the problem, especially for children. It causes fatty liver disease if consumed in excess, and is about as damaging to the liver as alchohol. Fructose is also created when corn starch or sucrose breaks down after digestion, and in corn products like corn syrup. The problem with fructose is that we eat too much of it in unnarural form - fruit juices, sucrose (sugar) in everything, and fruits throughout the year as a staple. This is not normal for humans - fruits were available in short seasons before global agricultural shipping. Fruit juices do not grow on trees, and sugar, honey etc. were rare commodities.

    • @acondicionamientometabolic7599
      @acondicionamientometabolic7599 Місяць тому +1

@jonswap9097 every and each carbohydrate will turn into GLUCOSE (not fructose) upon digestion and being metabolized. Fatty liver (non-alcoholic ) liver typically takes in place in patients with joint diverse metabolic disorders simultaneously occurring, not only in those who consume sugar (fructose, glucose, lactose, sucrose or any other saccharides).
It’s just quite unlikely to develop fatty liver by eating fruit.
Most importantly, I don’t think there is an argument to be made about so-called modern fruit and its counterpart ‘ancient fruit’. Fruit is natural now and so the fruit from hundred or thousand years ago.
If there is a conundrum with anything being ‘unnatural in human beings’, you should really take a look about all the unnatural things we do… such as writing one another behind a black mirror (a.k.a. a smart cellphone)

Hundreds of thousands and millions of years ago, our ancestors had VERY LIMITED access to sugar. They may have found a few berries that the birds and other animals didn't eat first. They may have found a little honey now and then. That's it. The few fruits and other plant foods available then were completely different than what we have today. Take ANY of your favorite plant foods and do some research. What were they like before humans began changing them.
Human beings evolved on fatty meat. We can get every necessary nutrient from animal sources. The same can't be said for plant-based diets. Look in the cupboard of any vegan, and what will you find? Bottles and bottles of supplements: Vitamin B12, Vitamin A (Retinol), Carnitine, Carnosine, Creatine, Vitamin D3, DHA, EPA, Heme Iron, and Taurine. These are essential nutrients that our bodies need to stay healthy. Supplements for them weren't available even a few hundred years ago, let alone a hundred thousand years ago. What did our ancestors eat during the ice ages or even just in the winter time? Do some critical thinking, and it quickly becomes clear that humans were meant to be primarily meat eaters.

And, I've found it best for my body to not eat highly sweet fruits, except minimally. More so crunchy fibrous fruits are better for me, such as low to medium sweet apples, for example. In my culture we often mix raisins/dates with almonds. I often eat a few pistachios or some pecans with an orange or some berries. My blood sugar levels go back to normal, even without insulin, as long as I am active. Dried fruit is a very concentrated in sugar, so just eat it with the some form of protein (yoghurt/cream, kefir, or nuts) to add fibre & allow glucose spikes in the blood stream to he buffered.

So eat a damn fruit, try to pick the ones with higher fiber or lower sugar and do not denature it (dont dry them or remove the fibers) but there's no reason to not eat them. We need energy anyway

"Fruit is not natural" is a deceptive way to start. There *is* actually ancient fruit that has always been high in sugar. What she doesn't mention is that eating lots of fatty meat or generally lots of fat isn't "natural" at all either. "Natural" meat like deer is *lean.* Fat sources outside of cold water fish and icebears are *rare* in nature. Lean protein and carbs much less so (acorns, tubers etc.)To come up with a high-fat diet you need to breed high-fat animals or take their milk and isolate the fat... which of course is "unnatural," right? Or look at the (in)famous high-fat population, the Eskimos or Inuit if you wish to be politically correct... mummified remains show us that they had high rates of arteriosclerosis and osteoporosis. Is that what we want, because it's "natural?"

Long term research on keto is woefully lacking. Considering that we aren't carnivores and cannot process so much saturated fat, I'm hundred percent sure that cardiovascular health of people on long term keto is highly questionable.
It has been shown that high carb paired with high fiber is completely sufficient to control glucose and triglycerides for even diabetic patients.

The fruit and veggies are also different because we are killing the mycorrhizae which is actually the source feeding the plants nutrition, whereas roots are actually the 2nd source, believe it or not

I agree, this channel is better without the click bait titles. Please don't lower the quality of your channel by doing this. Let the information in your posts speak for themselves. Whole foods are ALWAYS going to be better for you than processed food. We can't reverse the fruit engineering/changes that have occurred over the last 50+ years. If fruit agrees with you and you enjoy eating it then don't stop!

I make smoothie with frozen berries is worse than fruit in raw form as part of my diet and have been losing weight and gaining muscle at an exponential rate. Although I put a lot of protein powder and workout a lot. My doc said he can’t believe how healthy I’ve gotten from being on the verge of various chronic health conditions and bounced back to a near ideal healthy body. I’ve seen this girl on various podcasts and get the vibe that she’s in it for fame and selling more of her silly little books.

It's the protein powder building your muscles. There's no protein in fruit and you cannot build muscles on sugar (without help).

@@jg5755 yes hence the reason why I put protein powder in the fruit smoothie

Dr Gundry explains the science behind the suggestions this lady is making fruits are problematic, and he recommends using other foods in preference. One of the major problems is that the fructose it contains is a perfect food source for cancer, because it is fermentable.

      @Yukon33 5 місяців тому +1

Not many actually go to the fructose level of knowledge... Sad! And its effects are not detected with standard blood tests.
Add on top that fiber is actually pretty bad for people with any sort of gut issues.

    • @frankschaeffer8153

Gundry and science, that doesn't go together well... because fructose is fermentable??? Actual sciene says that a low (acid) pH in the colon is highly correlated to *low* colon cancer rates while a high (alkaline) pH is correlated to *high* colon cancer rates.
This isn't just correlation but it is also explained from a mechanistic pov.
So how do you get a low (acid) pH in the colon? By eating *fiber* which is *fermented* by lactobacilly that produce lactic *acid.* In trials, eating oranges lowered gut pH, i.e. what we want. I don't think that was because of the fructose though but because of the fiber.

"the fructose it contains is a perfect food source for cancer, because it is fermentable"
No. Frucotse being bad is not because it "is fermentable".
It is because it is a signal for the cells to swich into a rapid growth and replication mode.

    Don't leave fruits ever.
    Fruits are really good.
I admit that fruits have changed, eg custard apple , I never got good quality ever, but this year it was like eating a pie. So extraordinary. Same for watermelon.
But still do have 2 fruits a day, you can have half apple and half orange. Fruit juices like orange juice are strict no

If you eat fruits in addition to all the sugar-based food that almost all people eat, then it's just adding to the sugar intake. if you cannot stop added sugar food, don't eat fruit.
