Guys i love all of your videos, one request for people like me who are practicing but dont have access to teacher (i d come everyday to your soreclass if i could!!!) My request is; could you breakdown every position of peimary series, one video per week, giving us, who dont have access to you as our teacher. Thank you
Hi! Glad to hear that our videos are helpful for you 😊 We actually released a brand new Ashtanga for Beginners course last week that follows a similar structure to what you're looking for. It's a 30 day program with 30 days of classes and lessons. Each day you'll learn a new pose (in sequence) and have a class that leads you through the sequence up until what you've learned that day. There are also meditation, pranayama, and vinyasa theory classes as well. The program has lifetime access and is on sale for the entire month of April. ⭐️ Click this link to find out more: www.davidandjelenayoga.com/ashtanga-for-beginners-30-day-program/
at the beginning, a chaturanga pose was always hard for me. i never really held it long. so i did not put effort in it. my acutal yoga journey brought me to a point when i suddenly realised, i was able to do it for a pretty long time 😂 i simply lowered slowly from plank every time i did yoga with mady morrisons videos and after around 8 weeks i was strong enough. 😅
Great demo. I Had a severe shoulder tendinitis by practicing wrongly this asana for years. When you don't have enough strength in your arms please put the knees down before being able to have the correct pattern
This is a really helpful demonstration. Each time I do chaturunga I feel I need to put more focus in it than in some other postures. Thank you for this video! Namaste.
Thank you so much for this kind of vidéo. I am following your instagram for only few weeks but I am happy to have found your UA-cam channel. My chatauranga is not perfect at all and my vinyasa flow either because of my chatauranga (in French sorry :)) I send you good energy and vibes from Paris France 🇫🇷 Hind
I've had to recover from a shoulder pinch injury and am obviously concerned with my Chaturanga form. I've heard instructors say tuck your chin for neck length. Clearly, the chest and chin raised up comfortably definitely aids proper shoulder placement. Shoulders are always trying to take the brunt of an exercise and I want to engage more muscle recruitment. This is really great bc shoulder injuries are so painful. Thank you.
Breaking down and recapping even basic poses is really helpful in developing consistency in a practice as niggles are primarily what hold me back. Thank you for sharing this.
Hi, i want just thank you. I wanted to learn ashtanga, but I get so frustrated. Even doing half series everything was in pain (wrong postures), ending in the middle with tears of frustration and disappointment. I am starting to build strength with your videos. Just making ashtanga for the beginners and tutorials how to do properly make postures. I search through many different tutorials but yours is really great and full of good explanation
Thanks for your video!!! I'm practising the 2nd and I'm stopping at the Supta urdhva pada vajrasana, because I can't catch my bigtoe in the Halasana position. Hope to see your guide 😍😍😍
Wow, I have been doing chaturunga wrong my entire practice. I’m so happy I watched this video. I have been truly humbled lmao but now I know I will be able to build more upper body strength with this pose 💪🏼
very good explanation, of the pose... then you also showed the key points where a practitioner would go wrong.... this is a great motivation. thank you so much
Watching you two always makes me smile I lear so much from you both and I love how you adore each other what a beautiful way for me to learn this beautiful practice ❤️❤️❤️ Thankyou xxx
I always come to the two of you for extremely useful tutorials backed with imp details. My pincha is so much better after watching your tutorial, and now this, thank you so much ♥️ 🙏.
I’ve never been able to get the arms to bend enough to get this alignment. However, I love you tutorial videos. I’ll keep working on this & other poses you explain so well. Helena is so strong.
Thank you so much for all the tips. Your instructions for keeping the front body contained are esp. helpful for me. And I m still struggling with stretching the legs/heels back 😃 anyway let's keep practicing.
I Would really appreciate if you Will do the first halv series, at a pace with all the modifications for beginners, so we could get a full experience,, so we have the time to do the positions correctly, without having to rush through, But still in a good flow ❤️🙏🏻✨💫 much love from Denmark 🇩🇰💋
WOW!!!! HOW WONDERFUL OF YOU TO SHARE THIS KNOWLEDGE! I have recently started to practice yoga at home alone with YT and I am absolutely loving it BUT with your help I feel I can learn so much more. Thank you. I like and I subscribe and I comment! 😉
You guys are honestly a blessing. Thank you for sharing your knowledge, I love that discuss the differences from Ashtanga to other forms of Yoga too. Such amazing tips for practice thank you thank you thank you!
Great instructional video. Thank you for this. 🙏🏻 Question: I often hear about repetitive movement injuries from Ashtanga yoga, and shoulder joint injury specifically from Chaturanga is one of them. What can we do in this posture to minimize that risk?
yout the best you guys this is so important am feeling the flexibility of my body...am learning here so that I can have my own yoga classes too,ur explanations are super cool ,,keep it up guys..africa we love you
Thank you for sharing this information, it helps me a lot to see detail of the Chaturunga Dandasana. I also would like to know about how to use the shoulder blade when we go down with this pose, how to engage with muscles in upper back,,, Thank you again!
omg!!! This was so helpful! Thank you so much, guys, for sharing extended versions of the Instagram videos. I'm an ashtanga beginner, and your detailed instructions are vital for my progress. I'm in Brazil and saving money to sign up for the online course, and hopefully, I will get the chance to be in class with you guys someday :)
So helpful and clear! Would be great to have more tutorials like this and some more taster practices for people new to Ashtanga style yoga love both your relaxed but knowledgable approach❤🙏
Love you guys. Lessons are quite effective... the way David give the instructions helps keeping the positions. Jelena's way of doing movements is inspiring. All my love from Colombia 🇨🇴 .
these videos are amazing!! thank you so much. i've been practicing yoga for 12 years and still feel like i'm learning so much from every single one of these. my alignment is improving immensely!!!
Thank you for this breakdown 😊 when I started yoga I found this pose soo hard with a lot of things to focus on. I also had such a hard time tucking my tailbone because of a drastic lack of core strength. It really took me a few years to master it correctly ! And it was really hard to develop patience and commitment in a world where everything is supposed to be instantly there. I guess this is when I learned sole of the 8 lines of yoga: non grasping, and non violence. 😊
I love that i found your channel. I started following your TikTok and practiced a few poses, but i really love that you have these videos more in-depth on how to get the pose right and how it helps strengthen or be more flexible with each practice. Id love to see breakdown poses on how to do it properly and how to get there. My next pose to learn will be headstand 😃
Hello, Jelena and David. Im big fan of your tutorials. Can you explain how to build strength for lolasana especially on the core and legs, I just simple can't lift both feet, I can only lift one foot out of the floor!! Thanks
just found you guys as i'm moving into an intermediate stage of my yoga practice now after a few years. I'm sustaining some injuries as my strength and flexibility allows me to go further or deeper into poses, without the proper breakdown. i'm loving you guys so much. just subbed
As always very informative videos! Thank you! 😊 I would love to see navasana breakdown tutorial please as it’s a struggle of mine since always!! Thanks a lot guys! 🙏
Thank you it is vert useful. I wonder that if somesone has elbow is hyperextended; how to be positioned in several poses. Please give us some examples 🪷🙏🏻 namaste
Great tuto but still one question about the shoulders... Are you retracting them as you go down? Are you going from protaction in plank to retraction in chaturanga? Thank you so much! 🙏
I really appreciated this tutorial. Would you mind breaking down this movement from downward dog to upward dog? I would like to be certain that I am doing it correctly. Also crow position. I tend to rock forward into this pose as opposed to having my knees locked into my armpits as they just won’t stay there!! Thank you!
This is what I needed ☺️ That is probably my most confusing posture. I have had a frozen shoulder also and I definitely know I was doing that wrong. Not sure if my incorrect posture contributed to it but I feel like it did not help for sure. This video was very clear and helpful. I am not shy about doing the modifications anymore until I'm strong enough to do it right. Thank you 🙏🏼
Guys i love all of your videos, one request for people like me who are practicing but dont have access to teacher (i d come everyday to your soreclass if i could!!!)

Amazingly experienced couple. This is real traditional yoga.I am watching you now. 🙈

Six years into the practice, but I dunno why I fail to do this asana.. I struggle a lot.... but thank you so much for going step by step. 🙏🏻❤️

the best!! Just got a question after watching the arm position video - when the elbows bend at 90 degrees, do we do an internal or external rotation?
