The Wii version immersed me so much. I remember spending hours in each level doing everything from role playing to exploring.

Considering this is a game on the Wii looks pretty good even by today’s standards
compare this to Red Steel 1, it's a night and day difference.

i feel like everyone that has an opportunity to game has a first one that brings nostalgia, and goldeneye is mine.

I remember playing this and Guitar Hero World Tour in my underwear at like 7am on a Saturday. I always sucked at it but somehow kept playing it over and over again.

I bought a Wii just to play this since I loved "Reloaded".
Not the Goldeneye game we all wanted, but let's admit, there was something oddly satisfying about this game and the wii controllers. Felt like you had FULL control of where your shots go at all times.
And I bought this game for PS3 when it came out, because the WII I'd play on was never mine, and it wasn't the same. WII was the best version.
So much nostalgia. I even forgot that this game looked like this.
This was the first fps game I ever played and boy was it fun. I used to play with my grandpa and it was probably the best experience ever

This was the FPS that actually changed my mind on FPS games; before I played it, I hated FPS games with a passion because I got bullied in school for not playing them, and because I was garbage at them as a kid. Weird how this kitschy Wii remake of a classic game completely changed my mind on a genre I used to hate but now love.
Also, shout out to the online multiplayer; a lot of the game modes were really cool and fun.

Damn, I used to play this with my bros when I was like 7/8 years old, so about 10 years ago. The memories. I think we also played local multiplayer. I think. There was a character that had a hazmat suit, and a golden gun mode or something. I don't remember it too much. Ah, the nostalgia is killing me.
Edit: I think it was around that time. Because we got a Wii when I was 6, then we kept that for ages then got a PS2 alongside it when I was around 9 or 10. Then around the age of 12-15 we had just a PS3. Playing this, the good old days of CoD. NFS most wanted (with the M3) Man those were the days.

Yeah when you are pointing with the wii remote it makes more sense to do it like that eather than just having the controller movement directly mapped to free look like with a mouse.
Loved this game. And it was even better when you just plugged in a GC controller instead of using the Wiimote (like a lot of games were on the Wii)

No that makes it worse. Then you may as well be playing the 360 or PS3 versions. I admit I play Mario Kart with a nunchuk plugged in usually but most Wii games are designed especially for the controller. Super Mario Galaxy isn't really thugh I don't think it lets you use a GC controller. Of course you also have to get a GC controller though I suppose third party ones aren't hard to find.

Surprised they updated this game, as amazing as it was/is, Goldeneye is Pierce’s forever. The OG 1997 Goldeneye is the best, but this looks incredible. To those who played this game 13 years later in 2010, I can see how and why. Huge Daniel Craig fan and they should have just made one for Casino Royale. Crazy to think even this game is about to be a decade old and the original Goldeneye is over 20 years old. Wow.

They actually have one for Casino Royale with Craig in it. It's the quantum of solace game but it has the storylines for both movies. It's a little older than this one, and the graphics and mechanics arent as good, but if that's what you're looking for you've got it

josh victor Oh man!!!! Boy do I really wish playing online. I've been kicking a lot of butts in this game. Especially when you start unlocking some insane weapons like the guns on the 4th or 5th selection. Unfortunately, 1) Nintendo switch, 2) 2017, 3) more games to play. Therefore, the Wifi multiplayer is long abandoned :(. Boy did I miss playing Goldeneye online.

I’m 43 years old and i personally find it funny how some people are nostalgic for this game like how I’m Nostalgic for the original Metal gear back in 1986 this game only came out in 2010 false nostalgia at its best.
Thanks for this, had a few glitches in the game where it wouldnt load the next part of the stage, also had a couple places where I couldnt figure out what to do.... This helped a lot.
Much as I think this game is a cool retelling of "Goldeneye", it suffers continuity issues. "Goldeneye" is set during the Cold War and this factors into Zukovsky's relationship with Bond as he is an ex-KGB agent and he sustained a limp on his leg, not a scar on his cheek. Also, Zukovsky wasn't meant to die because he returns in "The World Is Not Enough".

Or just haven't used the internet much. Most young people I meet know the N64 one and probably would never have heard of this one. Though anyone who has the N64 game as part of their "childhood" is also relatively young, just not as young, and of course that's not everyone who knows the game.

I remember this game. I'll just say for a modernized remake of the original movie's story, it was decent, but not at all that great due to being modernized, when the story was better the way it was. I also felt like some of the actors that were used in this game fell flat in terms of design, like Alec and Xenia. Then I felt like Alec was just made into a typical villain, who just wanted to pull off a cyber heist and stuff instead of wanting revenge like his old incarnation wanted. But also the removal of Boris is a crime. But I guess I shouldn't compare the two stories since they're completely different from each other. But in terms of nostalgia and precious memories, I do lean towards the old movie/N64 game.
But I do praise this game on it's multiplayer and online play. I really enjoyed the multiplayer and felt like they really did capture the N64's multiplayer in a way.
