    James, I comment a lot on all good you do to steer young men away from today's "toxic masculinity," as this is in fact a huge public service. This video, however, is interesting in another way. I love the stuff about seeing the pet / guitar collection, etc. In addition to providing regular PSAs, you, my friend, are a smooth operator!! Kudos!

    Keep up the good work, James. Real men are confident and transparent about what they want and communicate in a casual, comfortable manner. If you have made the decision to invite her to your home, use open ended questions to find out what’s on her mind. Communicate your interest but pay attention to what she say and how she says it. Most importantly, be honest and confident and take action. The more experience you have with real women (not digital experience only) the more prepared you are to interact with women in the real world. Carpe Diem!

    Great advice as usual. Might I suggest a video about how one should treat women they aren't attracted to? It's a very delicate topic that I don't see discussed enough but I think it really makes a gentleman...

    Candles are always good. Scented ones less so. Some women dislike certain scents or any scented candle. Unscented have all the upside without a sneezing fit.

    1:10 - „it all depends on the kind of relationship you’re looking for“… there’s a basic flaw in this video. A gentleman is not only defined by his appearance and his manners - more than that he has to be a man of great character and decency! So a gentleman NEVER looks for a one night stand or a relationship which is for short term pleasure - if he does he is not a gentleman!!!

    • @zayneytem
      @zayneytem Місяць тому +5

      I have had this thought ever since I got interested in this channel. He has multiple videos about his previous one-night stands and getting women via acts/traits. To me and what I was taught that a gentleman must always reserve himself. He must not give himself up to anyone before marriage. We are only in this world for a short while; having that one partner whom you can share everything with makes everything worthwhile.

    • @fiddleronthebike
      @fiddleronthebike Місяць тому +4

      @ not a prude - but decent and responsible. We have to differentiate between a gentleman or a guy. You can be simply a random guy, it’s allowed - but this channel‘s meaning is „to create a generation of gentlemen“ (James‘s words) and that does not include hook up culture by any means!

    • @fiddleronthebike
      @fiddleronthebike Місяць тому +2

      @ I agree! Having the partner whom you share most things with and for whom you care and take responsibility; imo not being married but having committed to one another would also be ok for a gentleman - chasing pleasure without that would not

    • @fiddleronthebike
      @fiddleronthebike Місяць тому +3

      @@sammajor2075 that has absolutely nothing to do with this topic - and it’s a much too complicated question to discuss here

    • @zayneytem
      @zayneytem Місяць тому

      @@fiddleronthebike that is true, and completely fair. Sometimes in life two people just aren't compatible with each other and that would be fine.
      But to me, and this is solely my personal opinion, it's all about equality. As a gentleman, I would like a partner who knows her worth, carries herself with pride, and overall just the idea of being a traditional lady. It would be hypocritical of me to want those things if I already had 1 or 2 partners beforehand when she had none as she is waiting for the man for her. That is what's wrong with dating culture today. Men want women who are chaste, but they themselves have been rabid dogs in heat for most of their adulthood. Honestly, it makes me quite sick to know that is mostly the case for men my age.
      One must act with dignity and refinement if they expect to deserve a partner who has such qualities. I know it will be hard to find someone like that in today's hookup culture scene and where media is overly sexualized in all aspects, but I will still hold on to my values as I hope the one I will eventually marry holds onto the same.

    Great topic. A gentleman ought to give some thought to the furnishings at his place when inviting a date to continue at his place. A sofa is a good place to experience physical contact. It is hard to do that in folding chairs, for instance. The floor could work if there is a cozy rug and fireplace, or some other focus piece such as a TV, stereo, or artwork.

    We are adults.
    People who want to enjoy their sexuality should do so.
    Others who just want a committed relationship can live differently.
    You should not fake, lie, or pretending a strong interest in obtaining an one- night - stand.

  • @alberttang6955

    Bedroom lighting is critical. Too bright kills the mood. Too dark and you won't be able to see each other. Light a single beeswax or soy candle on the nightstand and keep an easy to use long neck lighter nearby so you're not fumbling around with matches. Or put a dimmer on your nightstand lamp so you can take the light level way down. If the lamp is projecting enough lumens so that you can still read a book, then it's too bright. Use a soft white or amber bulb that projects a warm cozy light that is much more flattering on skin tones. Don't use mood killing cool white light bulbs that create a clinical atmosphere.

    You notice in the comments how religious and strange US - Americans can be!
    Being a gentleman does not mean living in 18th century morality or being a Christian.
    A country that has a rude and embarrassing man at its head who uses the name of God in every other sentence should think about the mendacity of its own culture!

    • @BenedictusAlphonsus
      @BenedictusAlphonsus Місяць тому +1

      I'm not even American, but dating to marry was the norm up until a generation or two ago in Western Europe and America, and it still is today in most cultures around the world, it's not an 18th century thing. Plus, while being a gentleman is a timeless thing, the idea is undeniably grounded in traditions and lifestyle generally associated with old generations (especially from the 50s, 60s, and 70s). In the Western world, this was a time when most people were Christian and the idea of casual sex was very frowned upon, so it's not "strange" for guys who pursue a gentlemanly style and classic stuff to naturally gravitate to a more traditional lifestyle (dating to marry, religious life, etc.). I'm not saying that to be a gentleman you have to be a Christian or have this sort of life approach, but there's definitely a reason for it and a link between the two. Personally, to me, being a "gentleman" means having certain virtues, chivalry, values, etc., which involve all or many of your life choices (including clothing, body language, attitude, etc.) and set you apart from the modern world. So why would your approach to sexual relationships should be any different in that regard? I go with the traditional way

      @mauricebederon869 Місяць тому

      The funny thing is that our religious Catholic leaders often had children out of wedlock and were able to do all of these things because of their social position, like Clemens August (1700- 1761).
      You are not interested in history?
      Christians have lived very differently and it was not always monogamous.

    • @mauricebederon869

      I do not know which country you come from.
      Maybe a not liberal state.
      My mother told me how hypocritical the 1950s were and how many men wanted sex.
      A number of men had girlfriends and many of the songs were about eroticism about unmarried people.
      There was always an official truth and an unofficial one.
      Many conservative celebrities have had affairs. All of this was known.
      Once I ask an Irishman decades ago about his country and how people lived there without divorce?
      He answered me that both would choose another place for living and live separately with a new partner.

      The fact that my parents were dressed conventionally or elegantly and that young middle-class men wore suits and ties had nothing to do with their human qualities.
      It was so common and part of growing up for certain circles.
      Conservatives often create an ideal world for themselves and ignore the fact that other conservatives in particular do not represent this world at all, but are lying and do the opposite.
      That's exactly why there was a revolt in the 1960s and that was right!

    • @mauricebederon869
      @mauricebederon869 Місяць тому +3

      Many young married couples of the past had no idea about marriage, sexuality or raising children.
      That was a reality.
      People often married without experience due to social pressure, which often did not work and making both unhappy.
      I want mature people who are free to make their own decisions and not half-children who are naive and uninformed!

    I think the most gentlemanly thing to do it wait till marriage before intimacy. Most of it comes from being a Christian, however, refraining from intimacy till marriage shows the woman that you are not just interested in her for her body, but actually want to commit to a relationship.
