Im finally, 10 years later, starting to understand why my coworker asked me "Why do you flirt with EVERYONE?"
I didn't see it, cause Im a man, and this is basically how I interact with everybody. Its because I was shy for a while and kind of awkward, but I found if I could just get people laughing and talking about their favorite subject (usually them, lol) it wasnt that hard to talk to people.

This kind of reminds me how one of my mentors on my nursing placement (I am a male) told me to stop flirting with all the patients. I never ever saw it that way but reading your comment makes sense, I always get the female patients laughing by just doing my job and commenting on my klutzy behaviours. For example half tripping over an observation machine on wheels and just commenting "this is the 4th time and i've only been on for 20 minutes I must be wired wrong!"
Brought a big smile to my face actually.

I work as a cashier and the chairs we have are terrible, except you can lean back just the perfect amount in order to be more relaxed in a conversation. I do it all the time and not just with women and it really works wonders. You relax and at a counter people won’t lean in, so you create more space between the two of you, which normally is a bad thing, but in this case it’s great, because you usually don’t have the time to get accustomed to the customer. So what you do is create more space, which subconsciously gives both of you more time to answer and because you are more relaxed by leaning back the other person/people will feel that and do the same, thus making the conversation more organic.

Certainly if you'd like to prove your point, jump into the metrics on google.
Or you could have some fun with it, jump onto 6-10 comedian standup when they speak about beauty/dating.

      So let's clear it up.
I do not care about your measure of what is normal, simple, or non-simple. It is clear that you are disconnected.
Another thing that is clear, is that two exchanges complete and you've already tried veiled but direct insults.
I guess your complex linguistic skills reveal your simple mind.
No matter though, I'll get my kicks from the fact you said this publicly.

As corny as a lot of this stuff is to be watching and learning now, most of us need it as we weren't taught // avoided learning it growing up. @@oliverford5367Truth is 90% of people can't hold a conversation. And not one in a hundred women know how to flirt for sour apples.
If you learn to just volley a conversation, you're going to be seen as an interesting and more chaing person.
If you guys are single, be confident about flirting. If a woman doesn't like it, you just wink and move on. Other people will see you as just being fun, and see her as a snot.
Let's say two of you are out watching a ball game. Maybe one of you owns a sailboat. Pick out the two prettiest girls, go say hello, start a conversation.
If the girls start to ask questions, say something like:
"Okay, here's the truth, but you can't tell anyone! We're actually aliens, but the good kind. We're grad students here working on our thesis, Earth Babes Are The Hottest.
I mean, that's what a lot of guys around the universe think, but we're doing field research. Of course, those girls on planet Quizzes are, too.
If they ask, say, "Three breasts. One on the back for dancing."
You can lay the alien grad students and "field research' on thick. If they ask anything remotely related, say:
Well, our ship is here, but transformed to a sailboat so it wouldn't be as much in dock fees. Hey, we're on a tight budget.
Yeah, if you want to see it, we plan on going out on it tomorrow. So, you have a big bottle of suntan oil and a bikini?
Hey, it needs energy to run, you know. The sexier the bikini the more energy. And we don't want anything sunburned, do we?
You can usually lay it on thick and the girls will eat it up, probably show up in their skimpiest bikini and want to prove Earth Girls Are The Sexiest.

The biggest thing about Craig that's not mentioned is he doesn't have an agenda in conversation.
And he doesn't take himself so seriously.
I've found that simply asking someone with authenticity, "How's your day going?"
That's plenty enough to be off to the races with conversation.
Finally, Chris Pine asking Craig if he, himself played the mouth organ, and Craig answering, "How do you think I got this job?"
Laughter was echoing through my house from how that really got me. So Quick! Fun. Fun. Fun.

Craig is an excellent example to pick. He was the very best talk show host ever. You genuinely laugh. And he had a cast of supporting characters equally as funny.
Importantly, he was never a 'try hard' type always straining to get a laugh or reaction or hog the limelight. He just let the session run wherever it took him and his guest and team. That ability to throw out the plan and improvise brilliantly marked him out. And you are correct, that leaning away from the guest gives them space and he never seems like a predator. And that creepy Biden example would make anyone afraid.

8 Teasing, Absurdity, Misinterpretation, Innuendo, and more just practice what you like the most and have most fun with. Playful State Of Mind

Lets remind ourselves that there are also types of flirting and everyone has his own. This video here is absolutely very informative on flirting and playfulness as executed by Craig is a huge advantage if you know how to "push and pull" as he does. BUT remember that Craig is on his purpose doing a thing he loves. He's gone through a lot to reach there and he has slowly built up and educated his audience on his way of flirting. Meaning that everyone that goes there is expecting and craving that moment and goes with the flow of it. If you're just meeting a person they may not find attractive even if you copy his style 1000%. That means don't be Craig, be you and sometimes get out of your way to explore more of you. The principles are the same, get off this video and go act.

So we were very good at making the crowd go wild with laughter but it was still very difficult to build genuine attraction because of low self esteem. Now I'm over it because I took action when the time was right. The point is don't fret. Really important thing that was mentioned is that Craig cracks the same types of jokes/ makes his innuendos to male guests as well! He doesn't single out the women. That is such an important thing to note here

You see, the problem with this video is that you take “Late Night Show Interviews” as your prime example for what a good conversation should look like. But first of all, these interviews are often rehearsed or at least talked through before. So not at all like actual conversations.
And secondly, they are interviews: One person usually asks the questions and the other one just tries to answer them in a humorous way. I. e. not a balanced conversation.
The aim of these interviews is to make the guest celebrity look as favorable as possible. It’s not even a real conversation, it is entertainment.
Pulling out all the stops, taking on a heightened personality and they stop acting like they do in real life. Because, if it was really just two people talking, a lot of people wound find that not to be enough for TV.
I like your videos but I would try to steer away from actors and entertainers. They are fun and great to watch but it’s just not real, it’s a show.

You’re supposed to do a bit of work. You have to learn through imperfect examples. The principles still apply - as to how you use them is intuitive

    • @roastofsparta
      @roastofsparta 3 роки тому +46

I disagree here - there are plenty of solid principles here which are useful for almost any conversation. Craig Ferguson - yes while being a talk show which all tend to be edited - interviews still represent a decent organic conversation compared to other shows. Some people would actually find this style of humour and banter quite endearing.

Also, Craig, unlike other hosts, didn't rely on cards for his interviews. In fact, he often made a point of tearing them up at the beginning of the show.

It’s nkt supposed to be taken as literally though, the point of the video is to telling guys to basically be comfortable and fun when approaching women, and there are (apparently) exaggerated examples of it from Ferguson.

Striking up conversations with strangers takes practice but in time you get good at it. You got to be quick witted and always smiling. I do it a lot now, it's kind of a hobby for me and a way to brighten my day and hopefully for others. I just had several people laughing with me in the line at the grocery store the other day. ALSO I just recently bought this wild unique looking fake leather jacket at Ross and wear it whenever I am out and it's like people just want to start talking to me! It's crazy.

I started watching this channel years ago back in high school as the awkwardest of the awkward. Over time, now 20, I’ve become confident and charismatic. Even went recommending this to close friends who I thought would benefit from it. We can always improve no matter how far we’ve come so I’ll be checking out the course to see what I’m lacking.

Two of the things I find most powerful when I engage with others is simply being non-judgemental (which I am anyway). Always ask questions to what they just said so they know you´re engaged and interested in the conversation with them and they feel heard. And lastly - try to know as much as you can about any topic - that way you can talk to anyone

    • @BobRooney290

oh please, his female guests are all hollyweird floozies. they've weinstein'ed their way up the ladder and have landed on his talk show to promote their new show. i'm sure they did the same with Ferguson that they havent already done with weinstein. that being said, considering that most semi-hot women these days sell their bodies on onlyfans and pornhub for money, i'd prefer to start the conversation by always asking their hourly rate. the hot women dont count as they already have rich sugar daddies and have mastered the art of golddigging.

This is all very thoughtful, and helpful for conversation w women. It is still missing the foundation without which those suggestions will cause a lot of pain. To approach women:
1 . Find something or things you genuinely like about this woman, something worthwhile in your mind, something you are going to miss if she splits.
    2. Communicate it, directly perhaps w some of these great CF ideas, or indirectly, I dunno.
    3. If it crashes, she starts to leave, has someone else, whatever: feel the disappointment, maybe reflect a *little* embarrassment , and deal with it standing up and moving on. Let it be known in some polite way if you can, immediately, that you’re doing both.
    4. Being able to handle 3. takes maturity, gumption, which will show back at 2. If you have that, then all the ideas from CF might be great adds for a man. If not, you’re not ready.
