The Hild/Utred friendship is the best part of the show imo, it's just so pure
My boy Finan! Best right hand man in history lol
100%
One of the best episodes in the entire series imo (and that's saying something trust me. This show only gets better). The Uhtred/Hilde scene is gorgeous. You two have the best reactions!
Agreed, this episode has to be on the top 3 of all episodes of all tv shows ever made. today, the show is underrated and there isn't much talk about it but someday, this episode has the potential to be used as an example of great writing and cinematography.
halig's death 💔 but uthred/hild friendship ❤️ Ragnar Saving his lil bro ❤️ uthred Saving giesla and killing that priest❤️❤️❤️❤️ and oh yes welcome Finan❤️ best episode ever
spot on the Hild scene in the field is the most powerful scene
RIP Halig.
WELCOME, Finan!! He's my favourite character of the entire show! "Pull!"
Also, this show epitomises "looks can be deceiving". Poor Aethelfled
YAY! I was in your video (chasing Alex with the dogs). Cant believe you missed the bit out when Finan put the sword through Sverris throat. It was the best part!
Imon_Snow Watch the BTS too... ua-cam.com/video/2jcALGPDIV0/v-deo.html
Pull
"She won the lottery!" 😁
😬
Oh my sweet summer child
lol right??
I'd ask for a refund.
@Zachary Gjerde we're clueless bout it too once upon a time.
Fun facts: The Ragnar Family in The Last Kingdom is from the Ravn bloodline NOT lothbrok's bloodline. Grandpa Ravn was Earl Ragnar's father, making him Ragnar Ravnson. Young Ragnar would then be known as Ragnar Ragnarson (not to be confused with Ragnar Lothbrok).
Also, Ubba Lothbrokson, from season 1, was the son of Ragnar Lothbrok.
Thought; I think Alfred sees that Uhtred can be helpful for Wessex, since he's willing to make a deal to make sure Uhtred will serve him and Ragnar goes free. But its difficult for a man like Alfred, who was forced to take up the crown and is a man of Christianity to trust a pagan. I don't think its entirely unjustified after generations of Vikings pillaging the lands of england and killing people... Also, like you ladies pointed out, Uhtred is clearly breaking the christian laws. So I believe Alfred understands that Uhtred has some justified reasons for what he does, but at the same time Alfred is a king and he cant let laws be broken just because Uhtred is justified... Uhtred needs to learn to be more cautious and think more about the laws of the christian world. And Alfred needs to try to let go of his bias.
I think thats what it comes down to. Uhtred has his Vikings ways, Alfred has his Christian ways. They respect eachother as lords, but its difficult to trust someone who is the polar opposite of every value and standard you hold in your heart. Which is why their alliance is a very complicated one.................. Also, Never stop Thirsting! LOL When hild tells Uhtred to take his clothes off lol, i was thinking 'that' too ;) ;) XD
One of my favorite episodes. This show is seriously golden.
It’s seriously so fucking good. I agree one of the best episodes of entire series
S2 Episode 3 is one of those truly ICONIC episodes. The pacing, the score, the emotions..Everything was one point.
All in all, The Last Kingdom is truly nothing sort but *Legendary*
Merry Christmas by the way.
When I saw this episode and him having to swear to Alfred. I remembered a quote from season one. "The bastard thinks"
This is a near perfect episode of TV. Your reactions mirrored my own when watching. The scene in the field with Hild and Uhtred cements their friendship. The bond between Finan and Uhtred is pure and beautiful
Finan and Sihtric are the beeesssstttt
lol imon gets dressed up to see her favorite boys
Absolutely!
@@ImonSnow and you look amazing!
This is such a moving episode all around from Uhtred's slavery, to the talk between Ragnar and Finnan about if they are Uhtred's brothers, to Hild cutting his hair and bringing him back, to the end where he has kills that weasel priest (who without a doubt deserved that knife from Uhtred; I surely imagine back in the day priest's who obtained the power and influence he had, leads him to thinking he could do whatever he please with no consequences) to Uhtred swearing his sword to Alfred at the end and the reminder Alfred is the king. And the look on Uhtred's face when he realizes he has to trade his freedom for his brother's life.
This episode will shape the characters going forward there is a lot of trickle down impact from this for Uhtred, Ragnar and Brida to Alfred and his family and others that they come into contact with. Also a reminder Alfred is not Uhtred's friend and there are many that don't view him kindly still around the court. People weren't often judged on their character or heart back then sadly maybe that isn't much different then today in some ways.
I was looking forward to this one but I assumed we'd mostly all feel the same about it.
Happy Holidays all
Bout time lol yasss
I got a bit distracted as well lol
An imon has an adorable laugh lmao
"Well at least they are next to each other." Every cloud has a silver lining!
This show is crack
Imon looks really good as always
Girls. Get used to the “loss after loss after loss” aspect. Also brida😬
Yup. It doesn't get any better from here either
I’m really excited for the next few videos! This part of s2 has some of my favorite episodes of the whole series :)
The Last Kingdom keeps making us pissed off yet somehow making us keep keep watching. It's like this temptress that draws you in but you know going in that she'll hurt you yet cannot help but returning. lol
Merry Christmas and Destiny is All!!!
It's such a shame this show isn't more popular.
You're so close to seeing Finnan at his finest the Man is funny and a beast
I hope you both have a happy, healthy holiday season. As always, I appreciate all your hard work very much. Be well!
It would be taboo for anyone to kill a priest or monk. Although I could careless about Uthred killing that bastard, Uthred's actions was shocking to those who revere folks in such positions.
Why didn’t he bring up the fact that she was beaten into marriage of no consent lol
@@GgCashh451 still no right to kill an abbot bruh
@@Aemond2024 I don’t disagree with you but at the same time a reason is better than no reason at all. If he can get Alfred to believe he beat her into a marriage then he can get him to believe he attacked uhtred or something
@@GgCashh451 but Uthred is am honest fool. He confessed it. Also Do you think Arthur gives a shit about the fate of some Danish girl iver tge death of a church father??
You guys should Definitely check out The Expanse one of my favorite show. Up with The last Kingdom
11:55: yes girl u won the f***ing lottery o_o
Alfred is one smart son of a bitch... manipulating Uthred into working for him again
Sihtric acid 🤣
Finan killing the slaver is one of my fav moments in this!
I don't know if you guys review films but if so you should check out Agora, starring Rachel Weisz, Max Minghella, Oscar Isaac.
"Cedric Acid is back", ha ha, amused me that did.
Abby knows her church history damn girl!
Again, your reactions...priceless! LOL!
I love watching your reactions , it's just how I was the first time I watched it ..........have watched whole series about seven times now haha
Finan (Mark Rowley), Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon), & Sihtric (Arnas Fedaravicius) are all best friends in real life.
ya'll's reactions are hilarious as heck lmao 😂🤣😂🤣
14:40 nice you caught that on quick
Loved that imaginary swordplay at 23:45 😂
What this show gets wrong, is that under Viking law, thralls, or slaves, were a protected class, with the rights that class provides. They weren't imported farm equipment, Vikings lived like the Amish, on ice. They did all their own work, they worked side-by-side with their thralls, even the kings and chieftains still had to work, so thralls were more like imported coworkers, with rights, their own homes, they were fed, and they had a clear, protected path to citizenship under the law. A lot of them were architects, and people with skills and trades.
They also took female thralls, but they usually ended up as wives to vikings, and having more rights under the law than their Scandinavian-born husbands.
And in Viking raids, usually both sides would make sure that the women, children, and thralls were not harmed. Most Viking raids that occurred were small groups of teenage boys raiding other Viking villages, and most of them were stealth missions. It was rare that a death would occur, unless older men and treachery were involved, until they started raiding and invading, conquering, and then settling Britannia.
And for the most part, Viking ships were 20 man crews, and everyone on board was a warrior. They rowed their own ships, and when necessary, carried them across land.
Don't get me wrong though, there were always scumbags in every culture, but Viking culture was honor-based, on pain of death. You were honorable, or you were an outlaw and it was the responsibility, under the law, of anyone with honor to kill you, if discovered. If they didn't kill you or report you to the authorities, they too would become outlaws.
Under Viking law, Uhtred would have been perfectly justified in killing the priest who kept saying Gisela was married, because betraying the rights and autonomy of a woman, especially the sister of the King, let alone putting fucking hands on her, was enough to make you an outlaw in the presence of witnesses. Making it the responsibility, under the law, of anyone with honor nearby to at least attempt to kill you, or specifically, him.
Uhtred did nothing wrong, under Viking law.
Yes the Priest was not a man of God, Alfred did what he did so that Ulthred would work for him in bring about his dream of a England.
11:16 maybe the funniest death on the show
Such a good episode. It's so interesting to see a main character having to work through such a dramatic experience. Hild is best girl.
"this is your friend" lol i think you guys need to acclimatise to the fact that these two will never be the bromance you wish it to be.
Uhtred’s actor is super hammy at times but his performance in this episode is fantastic. RIP Halig and helloooo Finnan!
This episode is the best imo
12:00 "girl you have won a lottery" 💀💀💀💀
oof you said she won the lottery with Aethelred lol
I really want to see these ladies slap some vikings. Comedy gold.
Uhtred should have pulled a Schwarzenegger: Consider that a divorce!
😀😳😀🍵... Great reaction really tho lol
18:09 Ragnar doesnt even know where the hell they are. He would definetely not show up in Iceland all of a sudden lmao. You guys know what Iceland is?
You can compare it to when Ecbert asked Athelstan how the Vikings would handle the situation with the woman being hard for cheating on her husband. Athelstan said since she was a free woman, they would listen to her
I recently became a member to ur Patreon angels tier cuz I’m too broke to pay 10 dollarsT^T and the legend of korra reaction just don’t stop and I love it
6:29 lmao, you realize if she was a man what enormous duties she would have had? Reign, militray, everything. women got it easy, trust me
12:03: ehhhhhh boy.
"eh well it's the politic" 🤷😂
did they drop it?
Won the lottery. 🤨
Can you please react to Soul??? From Pixar??
"You're a horrible liar".
Me: And a weak, dumb king.
How do y'all know that Aetherlred is a good man? He could be an asshole like that old man who just kicked the bucket.
Just some FYI for Abi. the actor that plays Ragnar has a black wife in real life,😀
Are you guys going to watch bts ever again?
hild is my girl
Imon is the most gorgeous woman on the planet. Would not change a thing
Damn. I'm sorry, the reaction is great and everything, but I couldn't stop looking the girl in the right and her dress XD
Oh the lessons to be learned thinking she won the lottery because she will end up with the young hot man. Oh sweet sweet naïve Imon. Lol.
Can’t wait until u guys do a reaction on season 3
ayo
21:01 Woah, there. No need to get so political
She’s really going out on a limb her.. don’t criticize her
That the slavery episode already happens in episode 3 and only consists of that one episode is the greatest insult to the books. This period in Uhtred's story is the most significant for his character and the relationships he makes afterwards. The rush made of the relationship between Guthred and Uhtred in the series also makes a great disservice to the drama of the developments we have seen so far.
It's a pity because it's a well cast and a well acted series. I really hope they remake a series based on these books properly some day.
No. The show still has good flow and tells the story. You don't have to read the books to follow.
@@adj5767 That's not what I said.
These first three episodes of season 2 is some of the best TV ever produced. Don't watch TV adaptations if you read the series first.
@@tumult04 Nonsense, it's perfectly possible to make more faithful adaptations.
Besides that, like I already said, the series does have a lot of positive elements.
tv shows/films are different than books. You cant make a direct book to tv scripts. It just would flow well. Books are often long, full of backstory and filler and can be read on and off over how ever long. Tv shows have to keep you griped for a set amount of time, too long and you lose interest. They have to condense it into the most relevant parts of the story that translate best to the screen
edit is horrible....bye
