Hi Food Box HQ family! Today we're unboxing, cooking, and taste testing one of our favorite meal kits - Sunbasket. They're a meal kit that specializes in healthy and diet-specific meals such as paleo, low-carb, gluten-free, diabetes-friendly, vegetarian, pescatarian, mediterranean, and more!

I *loved* the dzik salad,will have to try the turkey kebab, I think these food deliveries help during the pandemic a lot also.

Do they have oven ready meals? Or meal kit options that are super quick?
They do!
Do you need other ingredients or it's all in the bag? Ex seasonings, oh maybe butter or pepper or cilantro things like that. Do they have reliable shipments, customer service if an issue pops up?
The only extra ingredients I've ever needed are salt, black pepper, and olive oil.
Would you prefer hungryroot or sun baskin? I can’t choose between the two.
Good question! I love both but I’d probably go with Sun Basket between the 2 since Sun Basket has more meat variety (and meats like beef). Plus Sun Basket has a bunch of add ons like breakfast, lunch, and snacks too.
How much does it cost?

Great Presentation. However main reason I watched, to see what you paid for all this. I can't get prices via their page, w/o registering. I don't want to register until I know how much everything costs upfront per items/boxes/order. I already made a mistake applying for Hello Fresh, with 1st box discount. Found out next order was going to cost me way beyond my budget and canceling was a nightmare. Plus they send me tons of emails as well. Their meals were AWESOME - However way out of my limited budget, and I will miss it. Was hoping to see what price range Sun Basket is asking for. Brigitte in Tulsa Oklahoma
Ah sorry! We usually don't mention the pricing because the companies always change the pricing around. So I didn't want to say a price today and then in 6 months it be wrong :/. But if you're looking for a less expensive meal kit, check out Dinnerly and EveryPlate. Both send meals for around $5 per serving :).

Is their beef grass fed?
Yep, Sun Basket beef is grass-fed.
Of all the dinner plans we've tried (Plated [RIP], Blue Apron, Hello Fresh, and Sun Basket), Sun Basket was by far the worst. Flavor was totally lacking. To this day, we still have some Blue Apron and Plated Recipes we still make. We make zero Sun Basket recipes.
Really? We had the opposite experience and loved the Sunbasket recipes. Although, we haven't ordered their box in a while so we're going to re-ordering and re-reviewing soon.
@@FoodBoxHQ we tried in 2018/2019. Our experience was poor enough we have no intention of trying again. I hope they have improved, but our experience was such they won't get another dime from us. We might try Blue Apron or Hello Fresh again, but not Sun Basket.
Had bad experience, portions were small, flavourless and did not turn out like the photoshopped recipe card.
Sounds like user error
All that non-recyclable packaging.
