FYI with Walmart grocery you only need a minimum of $35 for those on a tight budget and they now offer EBT for those in need of this! You can either pay $12 monthly for endless delivery or about $10 per delivery and sometimes there promo codes to reduce that $10! I should add I’m in CT so not sure if this is universal but it probably is... worth checking out imo 😉
One of the pre-cooked meal services that I really enjoy is Yes Please! They are similar to Freshly. I really like both of them because I can take one of those to work with me and 2-3 minutes in the microwave and I have a good meal. Meal kits I have only tried Hello Fresh and Dinnerly. The food from Hello Fresh was very good, but a lot of work to prepare. My problem with Dinnerly is that all the ingredients are just tossed in the box altogether, and my first box had a tomato that was smashed flat by the large russet potato that was in the box and the spinach looked a bit the worse for wear. As far as produce boxes go, I have tried Misfits Market and Farmbox Direct. Misfits Market doesn't allow you to choose what you get, and it seemed like the items spoiled rather quickly. I ended up having to throw out half of the box, so it was rather expensive for the few things I was able to use before they went bad. On the other hand Farmbox Direct has excellent quality produce, each item is wrapped separately in brown paper, and you can choose All Fruits, All Veggies or a mix of the two, and you are allowed to substitute up to 5 items per box.
@@anniesshenanigans3815 Since I wrote the review a few months back I have tried a few other options. One that I am really impressed with is Green Chef. The meals are all very healthy and most of the ingredients are pre-prepped for you. Most of the recipes take 30-40 minutes so you aren't spending forever in the kitchen. The ingredients are very high quality and the packaging is all recyclable. They have several different plans including Paleo, Keto, Vegetarian, Balanced Living. Downside is that you can't choose your meals across the plans, for instance 2 from Paleo and one from Balanced Living, although you can choose to do a different plan each week. Freshly has added Freshly Fit meals to their choices Next week I am trying Real Eats, and I also want to try Fresh Meal Plan. Blue Apron has also come out with a customizable plan where you can substitute proteins and sides. I will let you know my thoughts once I have tried these other meal plans.
I wish someone would invent an affordable organic meal kit that’s pre-cooked, breakfast and dinner. Too lazy to invent myself but I would buy every week 😭
I used to shop every other day, since I am plant based... and now it's pretty frustrating. I stocked up on spices, then when I buy my food, I eat the most perishable first, then work my way through the other stuff. Which is actually opposite of what is appealing.
Plated was THE BEST and no one else even compared - by a long shot. I emailed them when they were bought out by Albertsons for their recipes and they were like 🙅♀️ I even asked for a zip file (with cash) lol lol Dang it. Something about they sold their rights to them so they couldn’t share them. Plated at the grocery store is not the same as old school plated. 😭 I had my absolute best Thanksgiving meal EVER thru them then they stopped. 😒
I think Instacart shoppers are on strike in some states. Not sure if they settled. I started using Freshly last week. I will continue to use them for the ease of heating the meal in the microwave. I wish they had more choices for meals (lunch/breakfast) but, I think the service is o.k. for me since I hate meal prep and clean up.
Thanks for the feedback :). I've been doing this with all of my recent videos, but I have a lot of previous videos without them. I'll try to add them to the backlog as I can!
If I can reach anyone who is purchasing from category 1, please tip. I'm a shopper for one of the categories. We are doing more than asking if you want your water filled.. or if you're ready to order. We are buying your groceries, picking out your veggies, meats, and important items. If I could show pictures here of people who order a week's worth of groceries (over 100 items worth $300) for $0 dollar tip. And the delivery service pays $10 to deliver. We are not delivering a pizza Mary.
I clicked on the link to see more specific differences in the precooked meal kits. I know a lot about Factor but not the other ones. Factor splits into Keto, Low Carb, Paleo, Dairy Free and Spicy, and also is never frozen, and also can be cooked in the oven. It's a weekly service where you have to have your order in by Wed to get it the next Wed. I would like to see each column broken down into a more analytic attack on why pick one over the other! Good luck and thanks for the vid.
Factor sounds very similar to Sun Basket except SB is just now getting into Keto. I'll have to check Factor out. How are they priced? I like the idea that you can cook the meals in the oven instead of just microwave. I don't even own a microwave. Also, I love that SB has all the info about the meals online. I'm totally blind and so those cute little cards the vendors put into the bags witht he recipes on them do my no good.
@@40bpaula Hey Karla I'm sorry to hear about your visual limitations. All meal information is online. They show nutritional information as well as details about each meal. Grass fed beef, antibiotic free chicken, etc. Best of luck!
Thanks for this awesome video! I was looking at Plated which seemed like it could be perfect, but it's actually just a recipe and a shopping list which I found to be pretty useless since I can do that all by myself! The cost estimate does save some time though.
This isn't a delivery comparison, this is a random list divided into food delivery categories. You never mention any comparison in this video. A food list but bad title.
You've mixed together the ones that already have cut up the ingredients, versus the ones you cut it up. This is particularly what I'm trying to find out about_ so grrrrrrr
If you look at the pictures and veestro... There's no way in hell you would order for the company because a lot of their food get moldy and the packages some of them are ruined in the delivery... I wouldn't buy anything from them
The way you organized the different options is perfect! This is exactly what I needed to help me figure out the services to try.
Thanks! So glad to hear it was helpful ☺️

Purple Carrot is amazing! 🙌 The flavor is amazeballs! Comes out looking like a professional chef made it and healthy too.
I still haven’t tried it myself but I want to!
MamaSezz is a food delivery service for plant based meals.

thanks for your detailed review. I tried misfits too and was not worth the money.

what a super organized and thorough way you've organized this information! You saved me alot of work and time. THANK YOU!!!!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for watching 😊
Thank you very much for doing this! We are getting a little tired of Hello Fresh and want to choose a new one!
No problem!! I hope you find something new you like :)
I just never have ideas and I'm just one person , so it's allot to buy every little thing, and things go bad so quick ect

I never tried the delivery version, but that’s a bummer the grocery version is worse 😕.
What do use now?
Can you make an updated video of this?
I love dinnerly they Are affordable and tastey dinners. The packaging isn't pretty but never had a promblem with the produce.
Every Plate is very similar, including price, and they include recipe cards.

I just heard that as well about Instacart! I’m hoping they can resolve the issue soon as I know a lot people are relying on grocery delivery now.
In the Pacific Northwest (Seattle, Portland, Bellingham) is a meal kit/freestyle delivery service called Acme Kitchen.
Good to know!
I ordered from home bistro after watching your vid. Expensive but interesting meals with no subscription
Can you put time stamps in for each section? It would make referencing much easier.

I like home chef the best after trying several
Just FYI, Peapod has been on the East coast for years. I've been using them in Northern VA since 2012. My family in NY has been using it since 2015.
Good to know!
Is there a service that portions the food a bit larger and that doesn’t cost you more than your entire life per week?
Unfortunately, most meal delivery services have relatively small portions :/
Wow, this is extremely comprehensive! Thank you so much! It's so helpful. 💛
Glad it was helpful!
what's the most economical?
Have you tried Cook Unity? I’m debating on using them or Freshly currently... Also, I love that you have chapter times for your videos 😅
I haven’t tried them but I will definitely look into that company! And thanks 😊
Ooh! Try a Realeats review please! It’s a pre-cooked meal and you heat it up by putting it in boiled water.
Oh interesting! I’ll definitely look into that 😊
RealEats is missing from your list but overall good chart.
I’ll have to check that out!
This is super helpful!
Have you tried them all? I am looking to be less wasteful and was curious if you had and noticed which service is able to be recycled or composted?
I’ve tried a lot of them, but not all of them quite yet. Daily Harvest is good about compostable packaging 😊
@@MissSarahEK thank you so much for the info! I really enjoyed your set up and explanation. Thank you for your content!❤️

The martha and marley oh my gosh. My food was awful. It was horrible produce and my foods went bad fast
I tried them for while, and the food was fine. Probably depends on how far you live from their facility
Do you know if any of them accept food stamps..? I know Walmart dose but i need a meal prep,...?
Hmm...that's a good question. I'm not sure unfortunately :(
You do a video on meal delivery services that accept SNAP benefits AKA food stamps please thank you in advance
Great suggestion!
It’s not meal delivery, but many people don’t know Costco accepts EBT (SNAP).

Can you pls tell me about Trifecta and also what is the most affordable of the items that all you have to do is stick it in the microwave, thank you?
I don't know a lot about Trifecta; I'll have to look into it!
Sprinly is cheaper and way better quality than Trifecta.
which one good for weight loss
I think most of them would be good for weight loss, but Veestro in particular has a weight loss plan.
this video is so great. thank you!!
Glad you liked it!
Amazing video!!
Thanks for all the helpful info!
Thank you!
There is also daily harvest
Sorry haha you do have it

I tried a few meals from them actually, and they were all in good shape (nothing was moldy). Did you have a bad experience with them?
I saw a bunch of videos on UA-cam about the product
I’ll have to look more into that!
Dude this was not me it’s just a 34 year old
Trifecta nutrition
You forgot restaurant delivery services, like uber eats, doordash, etc. Great video though!
Yes great point! That’s definitely another option ☺️
Freshly is out of business now
I've heard! 😢
