As someone who was in the Navy, we don't care about SeaDoo's in places that are normal for SeaDoo's. The forward lookout would report a surface contact, we would monitor and watch you. That is all. If they start trying to contact you, then you have an issue. You can always contact them on the bridge to bridge channels if you want. Just be polite and they will tell you what their intentions are and make sure you follow rules of the road. If you don't have that book, get it. It really is useful in maritime navigation.

As a general rule, just give the Warship a bit of space, they will call you on the radio if they are worried about you. Out at sea they want a couple of miles. That close in to the coast a couple hundred feet is enough. They are pretty chill unless you don’t follow directions.

Just found your channel recently, I actually had a seadoo when I was younger, I nearly lost my keys/phone regularly as I put it on the seat or cupholder before hitting the water.
Good day Adam!! Just a note for you sir.... You have a great Garmin there you can buy charts for the area you are cruising as I have for my Fish Pro and they keep ya from having to dig your phone out and they are very accurate and help you out directly with a great deal of info!
If your fingers get fatigued by halfpressing the throttle, you can easily just push the cruisectrl (speedlimiter)button on the left when you are in the desired speed, and it won’t go any faster with throttle all the way in👍

When that Navy destroyer docks in Huntington Harbor they close the entrance for 2 hrs, and they completely scramble your GPS, so bad that my handheld GPS broke and I had to use compass all the way to and from Catalina. One time I drifted too far towards them they sent out their speed boat with a soldier standing on the deck with a machine gun and he yelled at me, ‘You need to stay on that side of the green buoys or we can shoot at you.’ They also yelled at me for putting down my sails within the Jetty area. When raising my mast near them I understand they perceive that as a mortar launcher and a jet ski they perceive as a torpedo. So Please learn from my lessons and respect our navy. Once a year they give open house tours of their destroyer. I support our troops and love the fact that they protect our coast. I live within the 26 mile range of the battleship Iowa’s gun range so don’t piss them off.

They usually have an exclusion zone anything from 1000meters to 1500 meters from the bow and 500 to 1000 from the stern, never approach them flat out or you get a nice wee man shouting at you, and if no response they will shoot hehehe. Get yourself navionics for the phone mate good app to have.

Don’t worry about the warship, don’t approach closer than 100 meters, don’t cut in front of the ship, don’t do something that could be considered “hostile intent” but feel free to enjoy the view. In home waters they aren’t going to aggressive towards pleasure craft. The crew understand the public’s curiosity. And no, the Navy doesn’t publish ship movements for security reasons. Loose lips sink ships!
Really enjoyed your video. I'm 60 in good canapés, and seriously considering one of these fish pros. However, as long term CC boat owner ive always had the luxury and comfort of a larger vessel in the rough stuff. My main concern with these fish jets is getting beat up after an hour or so. What's the comfort level like ?? Do you feel cramped and beat up after a while. Appreciate any advice.

The's a weapons onload/offload station in Seal Beach for U.S. Navy. Yeah just stay at least a few hundred yards away and it's all good.

Just curious… why are you using google maps on your phone when you have a built in chart plotter?
I carry 2 sets of keys. Takes up pocket space but I've never been locked out.
