  • @panpiper

I'm Keto/OMAD. I do a four day cycle, three days of one meal a day, and the forth day I fast. Because I am OMAD, that works out to 47 hours of fasting every four day cycle. In addition to this, once a month I do a three day fast that is actually 95 hours long. I've lost a good amount of unhealthy weight and a myriad of health issues have vanished as a result. However the primary reason I have adopted this lifestyle is to ensure my brain health. Both my mother and my father suffered from dementia in their last decade of life, and I very much want to exit the world with my brain in full operation.

I almost completely lost much of my memory function, especially short term memory. It was driving me, and my family crazy. I forgot everything. It was very frightening.
    Enter Keto/fasting.
Like magic my memory started to noticeably return as well as all cognitive function. I had been using coconut oil, but not regularly.
When I began using MTC oil daily in my black coffee the miracle began. My life literally changed for the best.
I had previously banned most carbs with that I lost 40 lbs and my body felt more healthy but
my mind was still going. MTC oil is a miracle. Also virgin olive oil and I eat one meal a day.

Hello Doc Boz. I was on Antidepressants from 94 until May 21. Started a couple years after Desert Storm. In November of 2020 I started following Dr Jason Fung's IF instructions. Then in May of 2021 I started transitioning to Keto, as best as I understood it.
Around the same time I had to DC my Zoloft (it was making me nap during the day).
I have been Depression Free since then!
Still scored kust a bit low on a recent CF test. The therapist didn't feel it was adult ADHD, but I Do! He wasn't interested in pursuing what it was. I am 66yo and I believe he just thought it was age. I Do Not & will be pursuing a second opinion from Murray St. U's Psychological testing dept in Jan.

I have an 82 yr old mom, who has very early onset Alzheimers, and am trying to get her to switch. I have been on keto since March, and she sees what it has done to me, I am OMAD and losing weight. I explain to her a lot about it, she is struggling thinking she can't do it, to have the willpower. but slowly I am trying to get her to understand and I am going to have her watch a few of these videos on memory problems and hopefully, she will shift over to keto. I have birth-onset spastic( non-epileptic) CP. On Feb 14, 2018 I started on Keto-IF. My non-voluntary muscle movement all but disappeared within 6 months--NVMM is only noticeable when my carb count climbs above 100 carbs/day. Needless to say, I don't cheat often. My balance improvement is also exponential on Keto. Chronic depression that I have suffered with since age 10 disappeared within weeks of starting Keto. I really wish I could get the Physical Rehab community to study the Keto effects on a CP/Stroke brain. I think a lot of suffering could be mitigated.

great podcast. I just bought the audio book, its amazing. when fasting, at around 13 hours, i get an unfocused brain. I would not call it brain fog. But I loose my drive to get work done. Im 54, long time carb addict but 3 years keto adapted. Ive tried salt it helps a bit not not all the way. Im going to try more MCT..

Another awesome presentation Dr Boz of how our brains respond to ketones. Take a bow at the plate for this home run. I think you're plan is the best way to become totally fat adapted. Is there an ideal time frame for weekly extended fasts and with this approach should you include daily intermittent fasting OMAD.
    Always amazing thank you, JP

Wonderful, Dr Boz! Count it a blessing to have found you. Been researching the Keto for a
couple of months, gone on Keto diet for a week and then have fasted for 48 hrs twice in the past 10 days. I have Chronic Fatigue (for 3 decades) never have energy and to my utter amazement have experienced energy both times. Yesterday on one of your vids you spoke about norephinephren in glucose dieters - would you speak to we who are on the Keto diet specifically about the norepinephren I'm almost 70yr and only a few pounds over weight but
I'm so tired that I cannot live life and this Is more than a little exciting for me. I have you on
subscribe and will look for your learned address. THANK YOU, SWEET, KNOWLEDGEABLE AND BEAUTIFUL - INSIDE AND OUT, DR. BOZ!!!!!!! p

    • @Blessedpb
      @Blessedpb 5 років тому +1

Oh, thank you for replying. Sounds like we are on very similar paths. It has certainly been a challenge as Dr. really don't know how to treat Chronic Fatigue and/or Fibro, etc but seems like the younger generation of Dr's are really connecting the dots. - I've not yet seen Dr Bos address my question on the energy making norepinephrine but I know if she sees the question that she will explain for us. My name is Paula but many of my family members called me, Polly, but they are all now passed on. All but a favorite uncle that is now 92yr - actually I'm Polly-Wolly to him. - Sure wish I had some energy to clean house today, don't you? :^) Blessings on your health journey. pb @@pollyblack4432

For someone seeking to get more ketones but want to water fast appropriately, how would one to it safely? Can you please educate us in that? Also if you have been diagnosed with cancer what would you do besides ketosis? Thanks for the great content.
