I like that Bill has enough respect for Jim that he doesn't even attempt to rail him ( I mean even just in a fun way) or challenge him to the extent he does with other people . There's a clear " this is one of the greats , we both know the other is funny , there's nothing to prove here" attitude .
The two most brilliant comedians practicing their craft these days. It's very interesting to see you two just talking. How your minds work is so interesting...
I like how jim is gentle when bill has one of his moments. I love bill but he really does have a few blind spots in his personality. I guess we all do.
@@adorable3817 For Example, watch this video again, and pay close attention to both of their body language: Things seem to be fun and relaxed at the beginning until the topic of weight loss comes into play. EXACTLY at the 34:00 minute mark, start watching from 34:00 sharp and forward and watch closely how slowly and gradually Bill dismisses and shuts down everything Jim says about how it's unfair that his genetics suck and Todd Glass' are much better, regardless how much healthier and lesser he eats than Todd Glass and how much more he works out than Todd Glass, he still looks like he's in worse shape than Todd Glass... Bill doesn't care to listen to any of that, defends Todd for being better at taking care of his body than Jim ( with zero evidence to prove it) While Jimmy tries to make a point that, he tries very hard to stay in shape, works out everyday, but due to his poor genetics, he seems to be unable to slim down and have a figure he wishes he can have. He shows all his daily work outs on his phone via his Apple Watch "closing my rings everyday" Bill being the technophobe/luddite that he is (One of his Blind spots) He dismisses the whole thing, without even caring to understand what does "Closing your rings " mean, he (not wanting to seem ignorant to this "Ring" workout thing) becomes almost like a bully, making fun of everything Jim is trying to explain to him about his work outs, cuts him off mid sentence to tell him about his "troubles" in losing weight, while comparing Jim and his "body types" to same as "women nagging about their bodies" and proceeds to call him playground names such as "No gym Jim" or something along those lines, then he proceeds to sarcastically call him "Big Boned" while Jim still tries to be patient with him and still try to explain "it's all about the genes" "look at Rob Lowe, the dude is like 80!..." Again Bill having the bling spot that he has, all these ..Woosh! go right over his head, and proceeds to never acknowledge ANY words from Jim about his efforts to try to stay in shape and eat healthy. NO words of encouragement, nothing! This could all be due to Bill's childhood upbringing and how his dad never gave him any words of encouragement while growing up; on the contrary probably criticized Bill and his siblings for their shortcoming etc. It's a classic psychological viscous cycle of a man who's rubbed off his parent's ( dad's) shitty attitude and has not gone through proper therapy to understand and let go of it just yet... But we already know he's working on it, as he even opens up about his therapy sessions and admits how bad his father's dismissive and negative behavior towards him has rubbed off on him as an adult.
@@BjornIn1979 It's not ALL due to genetics. Jim is NOT a healthy eater. As long as he eats sugar, animal and flour products he will NEVER lose the excess weight. Carbs, as in complex carbs, like beans and potatoes are great!!!!! I yoyo dieted for over 30 years. Now I just Avoid sugar, Animal and flour products, and I have zero issues with weight - and I rarely get sick.
@@adorable3817 Jim was not saying it's all due to genetics. he was just stating the fact that genetics played a part in determining body weight, shape, metabolism etc. Bill could have simply acknowledged that and added on his thoughts about how to best manage body weight, but instead he denied that well known fact while giving attitudes to his guest.

Great to see Bill talking to people every once in a while, the views skyrocket... hint hint 😀 wish he'd do more podcasts with people, he could be as big as Rogan if he interviewed people more.. Do it Bill 🥳👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Compare the interaction between Burr and Gaffigan with that of Bill and Paul Verzi. You can detect his discomfort with certain people. He seems aggressively competitive-like he's trying to prove something. On the other hand, he plays nice with others. With his good friend Paul, he's like a caring big brother. There's clearly more than one side to BB. Gaffigan seems more centered, relaxed, and in control. He also seems more likable than Bill, here. Interesting. Just an observation.
Couldn't agree more. I love Burr, hes my favorite current day comedian. But after watching this and a couple other podcasts I'm almost certain I wouldn't like him as a person. He actually comes like he a serious clinical case of ADHD in this or that he was off his meds for it. It's like no matter what Jim could say Bill would be snappy bit odd. Like overly snappy... almost intolerable
Jim and Bill literally sound like old friends who have great affection for each other but know that if they spend too long talking, they would argue. So as they grew older they learnt to tolerate each others idiosyncrasies. And Jim is absolutely right, genetics does play an important part in weight gain. Thats a scientific truth. But diet plays a larger role and especially the diet when you were young. To undo the damage of years of insulin resistance takes hard work . So no bread and sugar.
No carbs and fast all day. Fasting is the best, for weight loss, mood stability, digestive issues, etc. Gaining weight was a survival mechanism, but humans weren't meant to constantly shovel food in their faces, lol, there used to be periods of scarcity.
My friend is 6'2 300lbs, I'm 5'5 140lbs. I can eat as much as him sometimes. He cracks up. He also calls me his bodyguard. He looks full on gangsta. I'm Filipino 🤣
Just for the record, my roommate in college literally didn't have to study. He was the most unbelievable test taker you'll ever see. So there are some people that make good grades and don't work for it.
@ 40 minutes in... anyone looking for a way to lose that belly fat.. try self binding.. for example I eat most of my calories (1,500 - 2,000 calories) primarily between 1:30 and 6:30 with only a simple snack in the morning and the evening and it REALLY works..! and at the same time, Jim was shocked to learn that Bill often swears in his comedy.
These two need each other.
That's for our benefit
Because he's funny...
I feel bad for Jim, he's obviously trying to be healthy by working out and Bill just scoffs like "look at you fatty! You obviously don't work out"
Dude they’re both comedians….. Jim Gaffigan I’m sure has been under way worse criticism by hecklers… they’re pals and everyone under the sun knows Bill Burrs personality.
@@zb4115 I agree that Bill's personality is rough but it was like Bill was talking to himself. There was no conversation. A cardboard cut-out of Jim would've got more words out. Lol!
No bill called Jim out on his and Jim got defensive like most fatties do when they're presented with facts.
Jim is out of shape because his diet and discipline suck!
Why did this take so long? Finally doing a proper pod!!
This made my day for sure
Jim’s new Netflix special was great!
Get some rest & have a wonderful holiday with Nia & the little ones 🎄
Thanks for the video version, I did a double take on my UA-cam feed 😳
Two of my favorite comedians & people
R.I.P. Cleo 🐶
Half and half but I'm glad cleo made it out alright.
Bill is funny it's like he wants to be a sage but he genuinely can't stand people. He's so easy to read. He throws out venom and then eases off. Wouldn't let Jim speak. Bill interrupting Jim was my favorite part LMFAO 😂😂😂
Interestingly, most hermit sages are usually kinda crotchety no? Hahaha
Lol shoulda been called the “MONDAY MORNING POWDERCAST” hahahahahahaha
Jim: "The thing about the Marvel movies....
Bill: "I loved the Batman one!"
🤣
Really happy to see Bill's growth here. Been following him since 2009/10 or so and always recognized he had similar trauma but haven't really followed him in recent years. "Achieving isn't living" Very well said Bill. Happy for him.
Having discovered Bill in early 2000s I can say he's the closest thing to Mike Tyson's evolution of a human being.. especially when you discussed finding out why you are the way the you are.. I can only hope to reach that moment in my life.. thanks for the continued brilliance over the years..
What a fun episode. Jim and Bill have great chemistry. Looking forward to part two.
This podcast is melanin free.
Great chemistry! Gaffigan is a good sport.
I’m 38, can eat anything and everything I want and I haven’t gained a pound since high school. I also log 0 min of exercise per year. I am the person Jim was speaking about. A solid 175 no matter what.
Bragging Camp sounds like fun
@@drew9221 nobody likes jealousy
This is an hour of bill trying to get jim to flip out and put bill in into a chokehold
How your minds work is so interesting...
get Brian Regan in there and you got yourself a real party
@@charlesnelthorpe9252
Damn good point....totally agree!!!!
Two of my favorites. Couldn't be more polar opposites comedy wise, but both are great and fucking hilarious together.
The weirdest part of this was when Bill asked him, "You work clean?" ... Jim was probably thinking, this jackass has never heard of me before.
Wow Bill coming back around and realizing that rambo was basically the thor of his day is hilarious and true lol
I like how jim is gentle when bill has one of his moments. I love bill but he really does have a few blind spots in his personality. I guess we all do.
For example? 😁💚🙏
Agreed the point where Jim says “every time I talk to you I feel like I’m talking to a lawyer” felt appropriate
I watched your podcast for the first time because I am a huge fan of Jim Gaffigan. I love how Jim began interviewing you. He’s really good at asking all the right questions so well. Anyways, I enjoyed your honesty of yourself and am a new subscriber. This was a really good and interesting podcast. I look forward to binging on all your previous podcast! Well done Bill!!!
Bill talks about himself and Jim is ok with it. Fun and insightful!
Seems like he had to because bill kept cutting him off most times .. Not saying it was a podcast ..just noticed
Great to see Bill talking to people every once in a while, the views skyrocket... hint hint 😀 wish he'd do more podcasts with people, he could be as big as Rogan if he interviewed people more.. Do it Bill 🥳👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Yes please!!!!!!!!!!!!! 😀👏
I wish he would do what you say, on a Rogan level. He might just be a bit too quick and intimidating for so many guests though.
Yes, far more engaging. At this point rogan is just a drunk, stoned has been.
Hell yeah! And Bill I'll come help you fix the lighting and shoot it!
The problem is that Bill doesn't let anyone get a word in
My two favorite stand-up comics in the same room having an in-depth conversation... am I my dreaming?
Rob Lowe is literally 2 years older than Jim and Bill lmfao!
I had to look that up to. The question is, does this make them feel better, or somehow worse?
Bill and Jim should start their own video podcast.
‘We started busting balls at one point..’
-calls Jim fat for 45 minutes
"You don't even have to work at it: you just walk up on stage and they laugh at you . . . you just have this high comedy metabolism."
My best friend Jay is the same. All throughout college. That bastard lol.
I thought of that trope/bit where the smart guy gets paid to do the other peoples homework
You two are the Dynamic Duo! You should do a weekly podcast together! This was so good!😀
Love them both separately. Bill does not let Jim complete a thought and argues about every thing.
And he wonders why Nia gets mad at him.
@ 40 minutes in... anyone looking for a way to lose that belly fat.. try self binding.. for example I eat most of my calories (1,500 - 2,000 calories) primarily between 1:30 and 6:30 with only a simple snack in the morning and the evening and it REALLY works..!
My motto is "delay, don't deny"
So like 6 months in & it gets easier imo
Somehow Bill seems less like an insane person when he's just rambling alone
If Louie was there I’d have to wear these sunglasses the whole time
