I just made this myself granted I don't have the battle pass items, and you were right there is plenty of room for expansion as needed, I'ma save this build for later, when I start playing a long slow game. Thanks again for another amazing one!!!!
As an architecture grad it's just really cool watching other people come up with their own solutions with the tools available. i love survival games for that.
Have to admit when I saw the thumbnail I was like, "no way!". But after watching the build process I quickly changed my tune to, "Crom!" Love this! You good Sir are legendary.😁
Glad you enjoyed it! It's definitely hard to capture the "vibe" of certain builds in a thumbnail, especially if I'm having one of those days where the thumbnail part of my brain isn't working 😂
I really liked the overall design of this base. it is reasonably small and does not look too large for one or two people. This is perfect for servers that have building piece limits or require buildings to not appear as though a large group of people live in them when only one or two do. That being said, there is a surprising amount of space inside for both crafting and RP elements, such as the lounge. The storage is minimal, however, a way to increase the storage would be to simply add some storage boxes in the crafting areas for respective materials. This would not take up much additional space, and therefore not make the space look cluttered or crowded. From an aesthetic standpoint, I very much liked the mix of building materials that were used in this. I prefer stonebrick for the desert locations, as I feel none of the T3 materials really work well with the setting. The rustic element of the flotsam pieces looked very good with the stonebrick elements and the wood floor pieces (I did not catch the name of those.) The mini hanging buttresses looked interesting and. However, I am wondering if a pillar of the same material could be added underneath them to create a mini non-hanging buttress? If that is possible, I think that they would look better than the hanging version, though these looked good as well. I also really like the idea of being able to create a mini buttress for certain types of builds. I suppose one could use the pillar trick to create a 'reinforcement' but I rather liked the slopping element of the chimney piece. Again, overall I really liked this build. The simple design and materials work great be it for a starter base or simply to blend in with the harsh environment of the desert. I feel this base would not only be great as a starter base, but for a role-player as well.
Nice build. I'm in the process of relocating from my very first base to an area with a much better footprint. I don't have the unlocks you have yet but this is good inspiration.
Love this base set up. Trying to find some building designs that would match up well with it so I can build a town based around it. Not having a lot of luck though lol
Glad you like it! You might have some luck with my Easy Base Additions playlist, all the designs are material-agnostic and can either be attached to others, or stand alone ua-cam.com/play/PLb1BvY8uSBcd_6dCftW6fgpzIxepK70uq.html
this could work as a late game Keep if you upgrade to something like stormglass, then you can build a perimeter wall with enough space for various crafting buildings. make it an entire little township.
Thank you for the fine build. Just one minor thing, in some places the video is too fast to catch some of the part placements, like interior inverted sloping wall pieces under the upper floor.
Glad you enjoyed! Yeah finding the sweet spot for speed vs comprehension is a struggle in most videos, especially for the finer details. Still something I'm working on perfecting
@@117achillis I don't think I gave the location for this build, as it's designed to be placed in various different locations. This specific spot is right near the entrance to Sepermeru though, it's a large rock plateau
Lovely build. Always enjoy your soothing and descriptive construction guides. Are the stable gates not also tier 3 and part of the Riders dlc? Have you ever considered an evolving build A beginner version and then an upgraded and expanded late game version?
Thanks Veridian, glad you enjoyed! The Stable gates are indeed T3 and from the Riders DLC, I thought I had mentioned them when I was building the internal supports but it may have slipped my mind. An alternative would be a single doorway with an open gable. This base is designed to go from beginner to late game, though I could do a build that covers all three designs in a single video
I caught the mention about the support struts. Such a shame that certain pieces with somewhat unique functionality are tucked into the DLC rather than base game. I suppose more what I meant was, taking a modest base with room for the early game craft stations and then expanding it out to accommodate the massive higher end benches and also to fortify against a purge. While tier 2 did get quite an HP bump in 3.0, it can still get mulched pretty fast with an unlucky purge. I think a part of this current fascination is related to how many channels I am watching that are restoring/expanding old/dilapidated homes.
I'm working a new build design that admittedly is a direct combination of this starter base plate, with the base plate design from I BARDEN I argossean villa, not sure what the end product is gonna be since the roofing and floor total will most likely be different, I'm also trying to incorporate some concepts from lyumi light, as well as another concept from I BARDEN I. Wish me luck that the end product is satisfactory.
Awesome looking build! Question though: why do you use the sandstone foundations, then cover them in fences, then destroy the sandstone foundations and replace them with insulated wooden ceilings? Why not just keep the foundations?
I'm more impressed by people who actually gather their resources and build without cheats. The lack of resource cost makes builds like this (at least the starting point) highly redundant... for example, what's the point on setting full foundations and then delete them all after placing fence foundations only to then replace them with ceilings? You don't need to fill in the middle spots, just use foundations for the outlines.
Excellent work. No excess talk. It would be great if you slowed down the visuals just a little for the old focks like me. It's so fast I had a hard time hitting the [pause button.
Glad you enjoyed! It's always a struggle balancing speed for the sake of brevity vs comprehensiveness of the content. Slowing the video down through the gear menu on the player can help in tricky spots :)
this layout doesnt work for me... when i try to cennect the front triangles they are going to overlap - no matter from which side i build. i might do something wrong. not sure tho
Great build! Thinking of using something like this around the base of a tree in the jungle and then have a treehouse on the tree itself. Unrelated but seeing as you're an expert on the subject lol. I'm a relatively new player and saw an old video some time ago that advised against upgrading foundations that have things standing on them such as workbenches. Because the items would sometimes get destroyed due to a bug. Do you know if this is still the case or if it has been fixed?
Very nice base layout. I managed to get some inspiration from your video, to put into my own. But i can't seem to find the "Hanging Buttresses" that you put on the outer wall. Where do i find these?
I usually do that to get a good idea of scale and interior space, then I remove the foundations as I usually don't want that texture on the interior. It's also necessary with any wedge elements, as fence foundations can't snap to those degrees without them
Do you know how many materials this took to make? I'm thinking of replicating it but I don't want to destroy my current base without having all the materials

Beautiful starter home with a wonderful view and area. How much are the monthly payments and is there an HOA costs?
