Ok so... i think this remix will be a little controversial... Most of the remixes of Sam's theme like to go full out from the start while this one is more of a slow build up. They often focus on showing how glorious and badass he is. But to me his lyrics always seemed to describe the life of a tragic hero/warrior. Lyrics like "Memories broken", "Losing my identity, Wondering have i gone insane..." and "never realizing why I fight" describe a warrior who has been fighting his whole and does not even understand why. Someone who has fought so much he has lost his way. So this remix describes just that. It focuses on Sam's battle with Armstrong in the DLC and how that fight would go on to change him and how he would go on to "lose his identity" after that battle. The first verse of the song does not play in this remix because this one represents Sam before his "memories were broken" by Armstrong. Feel free to tell me what you think about this remix in the comment section. I am open to criticism. Still, i hope you will enjoy this one as much as i do. I have also remixed all of the other Metal Gear: Rising boss songs so consider checking them out too. Link is in the description. Cheers! Edit: I know this is late but i have made a much better remix of Sam's theme which you can listen to by following this link ua-cam.com/video/A3gjSjqQIGc/v-deo.html. In case this mix isn't what you are looking and you like more action paced mixes this is the perfect mix for you. Cheers! :)
Hello there! Thanks for making this more accessible! Still slaps just as hard as when it was released with the album! I originally didn't notice this in the album since I was just listening to it casually, but damn 3:54 sounds awesome with that echo effect or whatever! I really don't mind this song and I still love that laugh at the end! I was wondering though, I noticed that your Stranger I Remain Remix repeats the line 'I slaughtered dozens in Iraq, Afghanistan, I've found my calling.', but the one in the album doesn't. I don't want to pressure you to do anything, but if it's possible, could you release that version, the repeated line just bugs me a little, but otherwise it's the best remix of the song by far! Good work as always, cheers man!
Hey there! Thanks for watching as always. Just so you know, at 3:54 i combined the lyrics of the final release with the lyrics of the original beta version of the song. They mashup very nicely together and not only do they echo but they also feel different at the same time. It really felt to me like Sam was losing his identity and fighting against the past version of himself. As for the Stranger I Remain Remix i am aware of the mistake. I choose the wrong file the day i uploaded that video but since it didn't get any views and no one seemed to care about it and i don't consider it to be my best work, i didn't think much of it and just choose the right file when i was editing the full album. I don't think the remix is good enough to warrant a reupload but the fact that you were able to notice such a small detail though just makes me smile. So i guess i have to make it up to you. If you want i can just send you the file. You can message me on discord or maybe i share them all in Google Drive link so that anyone can download them. Otherwise you can just wait for me to release the new remix of her theme because i promise you this one will make the old one look extremely mediocre by comparison. As you know i am currently working on another A Stranger i Remain remix which will be much better than the previous one. And i am even thinking of making a video essay about why Mistral is the most underrated member of the Winds of Destruction. Your support has meant a lot to me while i was working on this project as i wasn't sure if people were like these remixes. I promise you i will not forget about it.
@@smokingmirror8482 Sure! I would still like to have the old remix if possible, but I'm still hyped for the new one. The one you have right now is possibly the best remix up to date of the song and definitely the only one with Mistral's dialogue. I think a download link for everyone on some place like mediafire would be better, since then people can just download it and don't have to ask you on Discord every time someone wants it, but either way I'll take it, because I love the song.
