Thanks for watching everyone :)
I like these little hot crystalline bugs
I really like the Tholians. They are so alien for a Star Trek race. But that is the reason I like them. Unfortunately that is also the reason they are so hard to produce on screen. It does seem like Discovery would be the best show to flesh their story out with is larger production budget. I imagine the Tholian homeworld to be something like our own Venis.
Discovery would show Tholians that look like 24th century Klingons.
Venis?
I hope the tholians will show up in Discovery.

It would be nice :)
Love these Alien Species, thank you for making this great video, Live Long and Prosper! 🖖
peac and long life
I had no idea that the Tholians seen in In A Mirror, Mirror Darkly Part 1 was motion capture. I always assumed it was completely CGI like Species 8472.
They definitely an intriguing if somewhat cranky species. Great video 👍🏻
Maybe Tholians have cocoons, and after breaking out of them, just leave the remnants floating in space, for other species to salvage. A Tholian's old underwear is a Humanoids' priceless exotic fabric.

I love it!
I think that there is too little of the Tholains to say if I like them or not but they look cool and are a cool concept and we saw them the most so far in Star Trek Enterprise. I would like to see more of them in the future.
If you play through Star Trek Onlines story (Not full canon, but they do work closely with CBS so it's at least close to "beta canon" level) the Tholians turn up many times throughout various missions.
They maintain their "jerks of the galaxy" attitude most of the time, and are very focused on keeping the timeline free of manipulation (not that they do a good job at it).

I just don't have time to play sadly. But my buddy Nick over at UA-cam channel *Ketwolski* plays a lot of STO so he keeps me updated on what goes in there.
I do think it would be cool to use them like that in the future of Trek.
TREK on the TUBE I have Tholian ship on STO. I love the race they’re so interesting, and yes we need more on them even after discovery. I can’t wait to see them on discovery.
Outstanding Job the Tholians so awesome! 👍👍💯🙋
You forgot to mention they are SILICA based life forms! 'It's life Jim, but not as we know it, not as we know it, not as we know it!'
The Tholians are my 2nd favorite underused Alien in Trek. My favorite being the Gorn.
How come you ain't saying anything about the Picard news? Good info, by the way, the Tholians are fascinating.

This is a Star Trek Races video! I'll be addressing the Picard news in my next news video ;)
Good catch on the Way of the Warrior Tholian Silk reference. Many people would have probably missed that aspect.
There's a book called Starfleet battles that talks more about the thoians and there fragment history
Not just a book but a game. Simulation-type game where you fly a starship. All the major races of Star Trek are represented. The Tholians have some cool ships! Game sold by the Amarillo Design Bureau.
I'm reading the five book graphic novel series Star Trek year 5, and your video brought back a lot of memories from the original show that I had forgotten. it actually made the novels make more sense, if that makes sense. LOL. I do hope they introduce the Tholians to Star Trek: Strange new worlds, with Captain Christopher Pike. That would be freakin' awesome! Cheers!
Fascinating
Where were they in the other Star Trek?
Can u do xindi next
Note: Conflict above the home planets. No earth planets but Jovian planets. Figures. Tholians attitude, hermits.
We are watching you...
The Tholians given their biological limitations of having to live in higher temperature environment use other species as mediators. Most notably the Gorn. As seen in the Enterprise episode. Somebody's mediators do trade silk.
I was think of the tholians today.
Do you think that Vulcans could go visit the Tholian world; or do you think that the Tholian home world is too warm for a Vulcan even though both species come from warm world's?
_mythdusterds_
I don't think so... Vulcans are used to high temperatures but I'm assuming we're talking like the hottest places on Earth. Or something close. The Tholian home world must be unbearable!
i think the tholian world would be a demon class(Y) world, way too hot for vulcans
Excellent!
I like that you described them as assholes, I think that's a fitting description, but I do like the idea of Tholians. I'm guessing they would have evolved naturally rather than being one of the progenitors 'seed' races, unless some of the progenitors were experimenting with various different kinds of seed races rather than the more common humanoid style.
Good video well done

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed.
Good video.
Wasn't there a race of beings that always was shown wearing an EV suit because they couldn't live in the environment that everybody else live in? I feel like I'v seen such a race but i can't recall what they were called. I remember that they are like the Tholians in that they don't use words but sounds for their language (I think, i don't remember).
The Breen?
@@sheldonscott4037 Yeah thats the one
You haven't done the Talosian's!
How do we get a vid about these guys yet no Betazoids? 😥😥
(...yes I'm going to comment about it in every species video lol...)
They do appear to be ever so slightly humanoid (upper body shape) Maybe the ancient humanoids gave their ancestors a lower dose of their dna
How do Tholians talk? They don't even have mouths.
