been watching your content for ages, and playing destiny since I was 11 on a terrible dell laptop. I was a sole d2 pvp player, and played pve just to get good pvp stuff (so probably seen the most bs lol) with 1.8k hours, but I have now left the game until final shape. the last straw was reached for me ages ago, and the only thing keeping me in the game was addiction- (which was actually interfering with my life). I absolutely love destiny, and its community, and no-one deserves what the bungie higher-ups have done to everyone tbh. the fact that they have not only atom bombed their community, their game, but their devs as well? its appalling. but I still love this game and I hope with every ounce of my being that it reaches its full potential. I could say so much more about how angry I am or how sad I am, but that's been said enough. I will never forget the raids, the community, or the fun I've had with destiny. where it goes from here is anyone's guess.

They don’t own or run the business. Yes you can say they could have made it the way we all wanted it, but, that was not their job. Apparently it was just like real life, the people in charge make decisions (sometimes terrible), and the employees do what they are told. But why get sad because the people in charge made some shitty moves. Just stop giving them your money. Stop whining then open your wallet. If you give them money, or if you don’t, no one cares about your feelings.

The saddest part about many successful live service games is that they’re often only allowed to develop “safe” content. The business side fundamentally misunderstanding the nature of games and think “why change what isn’t broken,” while not realizing that becomes redundant to players in the longterm and eventually they’ll reach a point of having enough.

I’ve been playing Destiny since House of Wolves and it was one of my very first games but I felt like a part of a small community compared to the likes of Call of Duty or Fortnite. Nevertheless I still loved the game, I only wish that the devs had more freedom to build upon this game it could surpassed itself 10 fold and could’ve become as popular as Fortnite or Minecraft. But I guess we’ll never know since Bungie always finds a way to shoot itself in the foot one way or another 😔

I have since left Destiny and fallen in favor with Warframe and what Digital Extremes has done for Warframe fans is amazing. They connect with the community, make jokes with them, allow them to be creative and have good clean fun.

Having played since D1 in September 2014, Forsaken was when Destiny was at its best. It wasn’t perfect but it was the best state of the game we have ever had. We always thought Activision was the bane of Bungie, Bungie said that Activision were limiting their creative freedom. It’s clear that statement was a lie. Bungie management is and has always been the issue I’m afraid.
Final shape will probably be a banger as this is the original Destiny cycle. Release a steaming pile of garbage>oh shit our game is going to die>release good content>repeat. They learned after forsaken how to really milk the player base. Release mildly adequate content(just enough for it to not be looked at horribly)>repeat.
Problem is the game is just stale. And nothing has changed. We have the same systems since shadowkeep. Mods, armor2.0, random weapons. Nothing ever changes.

@@jackkunasaki5044 That's the key with Warframe and Genshin Impact - yes, they can get grindy. Yes, you can get burned out. But if you burn out and take an extended break from the game, when you come back - instead of feeling like you've permanently missed so much, it's "wow I have so much to catch up on".
The key difference: Content and loot removal in Warframe and Genshin are minimal. Warframe vaults Primes and that's it for the most part, and even those get cycled through with reruns on a fairly predictable schedule.
With Destiny, if you take a break you find yourself with incredible time pressure to finish up some things before they are removed, or in some cases, whatever you missed is already gone forever.

Its so many players that want something different. Its very hard to please everyone and with each update or fix or bungie giving players what they want, there are always still players that complain about the changes and still aren’t satisfied. I wish players would understand that its a game meant for everyone and not just a personalized experience just for them, also its bungies game and they start off making it the way they would like for it to be based on their skill in video game creating. I dont think theres a definitive answer but I feel the comments can be toxic and if you have a difference of opinion on reddit or whatever you get attacked to obscurity and that also increases the split within the community and makes players leave, also some of the elites that poop on others because they beat so and so easily or the players that think the game is easy so normal mode should be hard etc further blocking newer players or casuals from playing the game when the majority of destiny are casuals. Maybe one day the community can try and compromise with bungie and compromise with other players and just try to enjoy the game for what it is, because its not a bad game at all especially compared to alot of other shooters and modern games and you get exactly what you pay for without any loot box rng bs like most other games. I feel that the amount of love players have for the game is so much that its become somewhat toxic to the point that they feel they have to have it their way or itd the highway and thats just not how a shared space works at all.

You just bust through an absolute banger of a campaign that Forsaken was with how interesting the tangled shore is building off the reef from D1, then bam out of nowhere a massive patrol space where the end game of the expansion took place. Went from a pretty good DLC to something remarkable and more importantly, memorable.

I said it then in season of arrivals that sunsetting would be a major issue and fundamentaly change destiny for the worse and it has what was there has gone and some good things have come in its place but it's still missing things ...ever growing in potential yet coming up short even when coming close ....I love the game but the suits will kill it if they don't watch out let's just say there's never been a delay or lack in eververse

and yet no good enough alternative solutions were suggested back then and even now.
Destiny players constantly crave a reason to do x thing to get x weapon and if they already have some similar they dont care.
So cool you made a nice call before sunsetting. How about trying to share solutions instead.

@lightningjuniorsuper what no solutions you heard or what bc that's all I heard for years is ideas ...the game back then was closer to great then now even with the lack of quality of life stuff we have now...but that's the solution there bud bring back what we have lost in some ways hell it doesn't really matter they won't do anything that the suits don't see lots of money in but the point is this game has been heading in a bad direction for many years and has gotten away from what made d1 and d2 great ....now they've made some good things since but they got to decide what's next bc most ppl are quitting post final shape even if it's a banger ....us destiny ppl been here playing the game everyday for years and something so good is shame to let waste away I mean we could play warframe it's fun enough but doesn't have the same feel ...or maybe fortnite how about that or maybe modern warfare or any of the other popular games out there.....destiny has something alot of other games don't and it hasn't changed ...alot of potential

I've played Destiny since Destiny 1 released and this it for me. I will continue to follow Evanf, Byf, Mylan, Aztacross, Houndish, Khakis, Lucky, Datto, and Fallout but I will no longer support Bungie. This is a cycle and cycles don't end they have to be broken or they will just continue. Bungie is set in their ways and to change now is about as likely as a person just waking up one day and deciding to do everything in their life completely differently. It just doesn't happen we are creatures of habit and unfortunately greed it's how we evolved to survive.

Man, Destiny will always have a special place in my heart. I've been a player since D1 vanilla, met friends along the way, played religiously, and banked thousands of hours. There's this spark in D1 that is missing in D2. I played D2 since the beta, stopped after the Osiris and Warmind expansions, then returned months after the launch of the Forsaken expansion. I took a long break, on and off into the game, played regularly during the Witch Queen expansion, and stopped at its last season Pre-Lightfall. Though I stopped playing D2, the news about Bungie was really depressing because it affects the game we and the community love, especially the devs who put their hearts and lives into this game.

Many people have said it, but I'll repeat it. The end of Destiny will not be a competitive game to take its players, it will be apathy (aka, a lack of interest, enthusiasm, or concern).
For years we have dealt with crap, but we have always had the energy/interest to make a fuss and ask Bungie to "fix the game". But with each time bad stuff happened, apathy grew. Now, we have had 6 + years of this cycle, and apathy has only gone up slowly over that time as issues/drama has ALWASE happened every year even during the best expansions.
So all of that, stacked up with the recent news is just reaching the breaking point. When the players don't even have the energy or desire to ask Bungie to fix/improve the game, that's when the game ends. And with so many people saying they are done after Final Shape, we might be to that point.

  • @rezaps7
    @rezaps7 7 місяців тому +28

What really hurts is the fact that people who really really enjoyed this game didn't see or admit the faults, and the moment something finally snapped or their eyes were finally opened, they abandon it and gave up all hope. I always knew Bungie wasn't squeaky clean, I always knew something could happen at any moment. I have constantly had my up and downs with video games over the years, and I prayed that Destiny wasn't one of the games to fall. I still strongly believe in Destiny and the community, I believe in the devs and those who work at Bungie that want the game to remain a universe of fun and adventure. I will never support those who seek to harm or insult any single person (no matter how greedy or scummy they are) who is associated with this game. I dreamed of being a content creator who could make content with and on Destiny and stay with it until the end of the line. I'm personally not giving up on Destiny, I don't see this as an end, I see this as a direction, a direction I have no idea where it may take us or what may be ahead, the game could die, the game could thrive. No matter what happens, I will stick with Destiny and I will keep riding along side it's journey until the very end. I have seen Destiny at it's worst and I have seen it at it's best, I believe we can recover from this. If you want to give up or leave, then do so, but if you are sticking around, don't lose hope, don't believe that it has to end like this, I want this game to grow and succeed and I believe that the people who do remain still have passion and hope for the game.
Just my thoughts, just my words.

Here here. I also hope this will be a wake up call to those higher up that they've screwed up big time and decide to let the devs cook up something grand: for us as players who want Destiny to shine and themselves as developers making a game they want to make and play themselves

    • @rezaps7
      @rezaps7 7 місяців тому +1

@@deac542 Unfortunately there are quite a lot of people who don't actively listen to content creators or pay attention to what they are actually saying. Even if they did watch a video on it, they may not believe it or see the bigger picture. The problem is also this: you can never predict or know when something like this is going to happen, it was a possibility, but many people didn't want it to happen, therefore many people just assumed or believed that it couldn't and that it wouldn't. I strongly believed in Bungie, even after LF launched. My faith and hope in Bungie isn't as strong as it once was, but I instead am wanting them to seek redemption and to prove to us that the direction they are going in, is one that favors both the community and devs. Only time will really tell, hopefully more people will listen and give a chance for them to grow again, but at the same time, I hope people will learn from this and realize how complex both game development and corp work can be.

The soul reason why Forsaken was as big as it was is in part because Bungie had the backing of Activision, mainly Vicarious Visions and High Moon Studios helping them the entire time. So you essentially had 3 studios working on Destiny during that time.
Bungie, as a solo studio now, can never give us another Forsaken unless by some miracle, Sony gives them some support studios to help them out, which doesn't seem to be the case as of now or Bungie undergoes some ungodly amount of crunch overtime between now and it's release.
As ambitious and content heavy people want the Final Shape to be, it's not going to be comparative to Forsaken.
I could be wrong but we will see.

    • @IronChief13

Since the last month I'm playing more Halo Infinite, bro 343 doing good with all community, thanks to forge the players are making crazy game modes and maps, bro can play Mario Kart, Duck Hunt or COD Zombies on Infinite and 343 decided to turn on the XP gain inside creation community games, that's all we wanted, have fun with others and rank up the season pass through everything.
Meanwhile Bungie is slowly killing this community I'm part of since TTK, I feel feel lost, everytime I wanna play the first thing I do is to see if Mayhem is around, crucible is not fun to me and only play when Mayhem is on, Gambit is dead to me, not doing a single game since Beyond Light and strikes are bored, the things I liked are no more, where is Escalation Protocol or Menagerie, even the Haunted Forest was more fun than that crap of Horror Lost Sector, we player were begging to have SRL and what Bungie did? All fun activities were vaulted, Reverly was a fun event and Bungie killed it, they destroy everything fun because leadership want Destiny to be a "competitive" game, hard and challenging.
That's why Halo is more fun to me, 343 did what Bungie's management never did, listen their community.
Sorry If I cant's write as good, I'm learning english, greetings from Mx.

But, after witch queen, before the expansion afterward. I saw the price for light fall. the price now on steam? It’s so much money. How come each expansion is fifty bucks? Especially for expansions with at least or feeling at least. Five hours of content. Just, it’s sad. Honestly, I started playing when Forsaken released, I purchased the expansion in addition to the year 1 expansions. My dad has played the game since like D1 beta, same as the friend whom got me into the game. I played the D2 beta but never really got into it until Forsaken/Year 2. Story wise, I didnt mind the year 1 expansions; They felt as though they actually gave me backstory that introduced locations and characters that could be found in loads of content (until they were removed). Things like the infinite forest or the recurring themes of warminds were ever present in the story up until even the latest expansions. I remember sitting near my dad and watching him struggle to clear Crota's End in D1, then being able to be a part of the first clear of it in D2 myself. This game has brought a lot to me personally, but some time around Lightfall, or maybe even before, I just couldn't anymore. Im happy, im sad, im confused.

I have been with destiny since it came out in 2014. Created so many awesome memories and friendships. I am sadden to see go because of bad management. Let see what happens next year.

I stopped playing destiny after lightfall, I love destiny 2 but it just feels hollow like somebody ripped out the beating heart and im clinging on to a dead corpse hoping for its revival. Thats the feeling Destiny 2 gives me now and I'm truly sad about it...

I used to play destiny consistently for months before I would take a break but now I’m at the point where I only come back to play destiny when the yearly major expansion comes out and even then I only really play for a half a season before getting bored again. And I find it kinda sad that it’s ended that way for me since I’ve been playing since house of wolves from destiny 1.

Played destiny from the beta on PS3 and bought the very first white destiny PS4 bundle at launch day it was my first bungie game and yeh it took over my life I'd grind strike's solo or with randoms because it was the one way to match make and meet other players at the time I met players made lifelong friends and made unforgettable memories i can remember like yesterday running around crucible with the vex just melting people it was so much fun
I never bought in-game transactions until destiny's lost event were you got those really kool skins and because I'd invested time I didn't think twice about investing in destiny
Then d2 came and yeh everything changed (or didn't change) d2 just felt like a hollow shell of destiny 1 somehow the magic was gone and so was my love for destiny 2
10+ years on I still miss destiny I have an emotional attachment to that game I always think of coming back just to see how it ends and maybe one day I will .
The one thing that drove me away from destiny was greed and unbelievable ignorance of puke smith.
So it looks as if things haven't changed and it was all bungies greed and not so much Activision
Poor Sony I bet they wish they never bought bungie

I’m glad I got my crota ring, it will forever be a testament to the times I’ve enjoyed destiny. I didn’t leave because of drama or even the state of the game! for me I grew up and had to have help from the love of my life section me off from the game because of depression, that and i just didn’t have the time because of my job, But I know I’m finishing the fight when final shape drops despite whatever issues it may have. Destiny changed my life and quite possibly saved it too.

I started all the way back at the launch of D1, played all the way through to Rise of Iron. Got D2, played through to the end of Season of Opulence, and then just didn't care. When Destiny went f2p, I was excited at first. I'd be able to bring my friends in that didn't want to spend the money, and we could all have fun. But sunsetting soured so much, I bought shadowkeep and felt robbed, I wanted to keep playing, but since it was *another* battlepass to keep track of now, I decided to play other games.
I come back to this, and well, I guess I don't regret leaving. Doesn't seem like I missed anything worth staying for.
