Grinding for Breakneck, Luna's howl and especially Mountaintop almost tipped me over the edge. I'm pretty sure its what started my Destiny breaks back then. I'd literally stop playing for 2 months and then come back later. The grind was real.
Watching someone manually reload Loaded Question over and over was painful. The point of the gun was to keep it in your back pocket, pull it out to clear a crowd or hit a major with the high damage shot, then stow it and let auto-loading holster top it off. It was never intended to be a spam weapon where you empty the reserves, and manually reloading to try to get the damage out a little faster just left you doing nothing instead of using your primary or heavy in the meantime. Part of the reason the new Reservoir Burst fusions don't work for me is because none can roll with auto-loading.
Ahh, but now you can just throw on a fusion holster mod and presto-chango, Null Composure becomes Loaded Question’s faster-firing, void little brother.
As someone who quit the game in the middle of the pinnacle season, this video was an amazing flashback to what I experienced and missed! Too bad I sucked too much at crucible to abuse those weapons
I’m will not stand for this Loaded Questions slander. That weapon was great for killing multiple enemies at the same time and when automatic reloading made it better. It was the most underrated pinnacle.
Breakneck was my favorite pinnacle. An auto that had an increase in rate of fire and damage for getting a kill. The overall feeling of melting someone or something with a weapon that shot faster than before just felt amazing.
I’m surprised how few mentions the recluse as their favorite. I literally have all the pinnacle weapons and this single one I miss the most. Never have another automatic gun feels so smooth and invincible at the same time.
I put Recluse as a very close second. My personal favorite was actually Luna's/NF mainly because I loved the lore behind it. As for the actual way they played I always mained Recluse. I miss it a ton. Which is why I love Osteo Striga now since it very closely resembles Veist SMGs, but specifically the Recluse Necrosis ornament which I bought immediately during the season that ornament came out and never switched off of. I adored that ornament. So the fact that Osteo very closely resembles that ornament made me very happy. And with it being a PvE ad clearing king much like Recluse was just makes me feel right at home wielding it.
Oh how I miss the recluse although very overused the feeling of getting it after solo Queuing while being bad at crucible felt very rewarding to use all the time
I remember back when recluse was the meta and trying to find something to beat it until I could get it, which led to me really liking rapid fire frame sidearms. Especially because they worked pretty well with my favorite kinetic weapon, Mida Multitool.
Its a tie between Recluse, 21%, and Breakneck. Their perks just absolutely went together, the Dakka potential was GLORIOUS and i just wasnt good enough with Revoker to make it my go to. Plus i LOVED gambit back then. It was a more pure fun.
Breakneck was my absolute favorite. Loved it so much, was fun, it felt balanced, and I loved how Onslaught made it feel. Hope we get the perk back some day, even since we've been getting pinnacle perks back.
Also if you know, each season they are bringing back a pinnacle perk on the ritual or a new weapon. Season 13, desperado. Season 14 reservoir burst. Season 15 explosive light. So next season they will. So next season they will bring back another pinnacle work. So eventually we might get micro missile or master of arms back, or my personal favorite, magnificent howl. (I know that the weapons aren’t gone, but they are sunset)
When I came back to d2 for the first time after leaving around shadowkeep, sunsetting had happened and beyond light had dropped a few months earlier and I remember loading into that first mission with recluse and 21% delirium both equipped and I think ace, good times
Luna's howl was my favourite pinnacle because it didn't instantly make you impossible to kill you still had to hit your shots in order for it to be powerful
i love variety but for whatever reason I absolutely loved mountaintop and recluse. watching six shots converge on a target from your whole raid team was always so entertaining
I remember in Season 5 when everyone talked shit about the recluse when it was revealed for Season 6 and when it was released everyone was like "Woah, that thing is op"
Favourite pinnacle is definitely Mountaintop, very closely followed by none other than the Recluse. MT + Recluse + Anarchy is my all time favourite loadout, definitely the most fun loadout I've had in D2.
Luna’s howl was my favorite. An adequately difficult quest for an amazing weapon. Still amazing after its RPM nerf. Very aesthetically pleasing. We need some form of this back. Either a 3 tap 180 or a precision frame 140
Same here... Such a nice to use weapon. Shredding small fry amd still good in pvp. I kinda liket to play gambit back then bc with Mountain Top Recluse you have pvp and pve god tier weapons! I hate Gambit today but well idk... Was probably just the weapon fun
@@rickyrickles It means that the max power level is 1100. You can’t level it’s power level anymore. So technically it’s stuck at 1100 until they remove sunsetting. Which hopefully they do.
Current time 4/9/2024 into the light releases today, and with that we see the return of iconic weaponry. And it makes me wonder, What if sunsetting never happened?
So much slander for loaded question, it’s by far my favorite pinnacle, and it was so strong. The only issue with the weapon is that people used it the way it wasn’t intended. It’s a major killer and ad clearer in one shot… how is that not amazing?? And the explosion was strong enough to kill majors on its own
@@zachsuarez1830 two different types of ad clear, one shot compared to clips, and if it didn’t kill a high health major they’d be close to death regardless
I was totally in love with Recluse coupled with MT first, Revoker then, but I actually changed my build before sunsetting, when I first met Mindbender's Ambition: it was love at first glance! 😍
i feel like every perk from the pinacles should come back, some with changes like reversal of fortune and micro missile. and idk how no-one is talking about harmony being basically a nerfed master of arms
Bungie: We made some pretty difficult quests with some of the strongest guns in the game. We hope you like them! The community: *Uses them constantly for their unfathomable power* Bungie: You're using them too much, so now you can't use it at all thanks to Light level restrictions.
Favorite Pinnacle was The Mountaintop, hands down the best special weapon in terms of versatility. Wanna ad-clear? Mountaintop. Wanna do single target boss damage? Mountaintop. Wanna snipe something from an infinite range? Mountaintop. It fit every build so well that it was almost never removed from my loadouts. It just kinda sucks that it got nerfed into the ground PLUS sunset. I think that what they did to micro missile was kind of uncalled for since they basically nerfed the damage of the projectile and its blast radius. Tbf tho, I know I have been spoiled by it because of how useful it was but man do I miss the insanity of that gun.
I truly miss those days. Legendary weapons haven’t felt as special as pinnacles were back then. Also, Loaded Question was amazing. Reservoir Burst was good.
what would be your thoughts on bungie bringing back levi and doing a second WF raid race? i mean, i agree that D1 raids should have a WF race, but levi was already on D2
Why the fuck would you do a world first race on a raid where the whole playerbase already know the strat lol speedrunners would win in 10 minutes (idk what the actual we is with shortcuts outside the map) u wouldnt even finish the first encounter
But harmony is total ass cause you can't use the gun itself to get *any* effect out of it. You are *required* to rely on your likely, special. Every harmony roll has been dismantled no matter the quality of the rest of the weapon.
Of all the previous pinnacle weapons, the revoker was the biggest pain for me. I suck with sniper rifles, and I was extremely proud to finally get that one done.
Was feeling a little nostalgic and even considered getting Beyond Light. After seeing this, I'm reminded why bother putting in all that hard word only for them to take it away? The grind for these kind of weapons look like such a chore as it is.
After Pinnacle weapons got taken away I stopped playing for years. It was disrespectful that I lost them since it took so much to get them, not only that, anyone can get them now

@@Lily-jt7wn oh, I thought he meant auto loading holster lol
He really did Loaded Question dirty.
Grinding for Breakneck, Luna's howl and especially Mountaintop almost tipped me over the edge. I'm pretty sure its what started my Destiny breaks back then. I'd literally stop playing for 2 months and then come back later. The grind was real.
Loaded question was actually pretty good. Reservoir burst and autoloading holster was a great combo
Yeah but, why use a special for ad clear, when recluse existed?
I totally agree. Loaded question was absolutely great for everything
Not really, hush was the most underrated
LOaded Question was sick, especially in the third encounter of Crown
It was nice, I loved it had auto loading holster. Null composure is an o.k. replacement though.
Yep, used that badboy in every pve game
Same dude, I have 90.000 kills on it haha
Lmao recluse was so ignorant in crucible
Funnel web is literally the same gun without the perk
Oh how I miss the recluse although very overused the feeling of getting it after solo Queuing while being bad at crucible felt very rewarding to use all the time
Hush will always be my favourite pinnacle. really wish they would bring Archers Gambit into the bow perk pool
THIS. hush was one of the most unusual weapons but if you got good with it it was absolutely nutty
I remember back when recluse was the meta and trying to find something to beat it until I could get it, which led to me really liking rapid fire frame sidearms. Especially because they worked pretty well with my favorite kinetic weapon, Mida Multitool.
I’ll never forget grinding for not forgotten, haven’t had the same passion for PvP since
less then a month of getting it it got nerfed it took me 2 season to get it
Its a tie between Recluse, 21%, and Breakneck. Their perks just absolutely went together, the Dakka potential was GLORIOUS and i just wasnt good enough with Revoker to make it my go to. Plus i LOVED gambit back then. It was a more pure fun.
Fun fact about The Recluse: putting the "Scarlet Semblance" shader on it makes the light on it fade between red and white, like a low health alarm
"And it never happened again"
30th anniversary: allow me to introduce myself
I really miss the Forge activity, I hope they make a return with the new crafting system next year
They wont because lore there might be something like em
@@RegulatorXIII it'd be pretty cool to see ada using some hybrid bray tech/black armory stuff to make these new guns
LET ME FARM RANDOM DEEPSIGHTS AT THE FORGE
When I came back to d2 for the first time after leaving around shadowkeep, sunsetting had happened and beyond light had dropped a few months earlier and I remember loading into that first mission with recluse and 21% delirium both equipped and I think ace, good times
Not only would I love to see Onslaught come back I'd love to see Breakneck be reissued altogether ! I loved that AR
Luna's howl was my favourite pinnacle because it didn't instantly make you impossible to kill you still had to hit your shots in order for it to be powerful
I feel like Onslaught would be an AMAZING perk to have now. I remember Breakneck and how much I used it.
i love variety but for whatever reason I absolutely loved mountaintop and recluse. watching six shots converge on a target from your whole raid team was always so entertaining
I think the new artifact mods are a great way to have that pinical feel season to season and change the meta without real sunsetting.
I am here to announce SUNSETTING HAS BE SUNSET MAY CHAOS REIN ONCE MORE!
My favorite pinnacle was the breakneck auto rife from gambit. It was sooo fun.
I remember in Season 5 when everyone talked shit about the recluse when it was revealed for Season 6 and when it was released everyone was like "Woah, that thing is op"
The Oxygen SR3 was my favorite pinnacle just because of how satisfying it felt in PvE
As much as we complained I never have had more fun when shit was broken. Pour some out for the homies.
Exactly! Y2 was the most fun in d2 in my opinion. Also getting mountain top before they made the quest easier was one of my best moments
They Sunset the items soon as I was about to get them
Then stop complaining when we have good shit.
I miss nf and Luna’s, I Hope they bring them back and not just reprise their perks
Yessss
You can still use them in regular crucible..
@@Oaqts that’s true but I meant like bring back it’s original glory and I wanna use it in trials too
@@Oaqts no one can use 3-tapping 180 with infinite range and 100% in-air accuracy my man. bungie made sure of that
@@koray3740 yeah fair enough
Favourite pinnacle is definitely Mountaintop, very closely followed by none other than the Recluse. MT + Recluse + Anarchy is my all time favourite loadout, definitely the most fun loadout I've had in D2.
Luna’s howl was my favorite. An adequately difficult quest for an amazing weapon. Still amazing after its RPM nerf. Very aesthetically pleasing. We need some form of this back. Either a 3 tap 180 or a precision frame 140
I picked up 140 NF and already gotten 300 kills on it
Oh man you’re making me miss Recluse. I love it so much. To this day, it’s the gun I have the most kills with
I’m pissed they sunset that gun specifically
@@natejohnson7601 What does sunset mean? It got removed from everyone's inventory or it's just not available for new players?
Same here... Such a nice to use weapon. Shredding small fry amd still good in pvp. I kinda liket to play gambit back then bc with Mountain Top Recluse you have pvp and pve god tier weapons! I hate Gambit today but well idk... Was probably just the weapon fun
@@rickyrickles It means that the max power level is 1100. You can’t level it’s power level anymore. So technically it’s stuck at 1100 until they remove sunsetting. Which hopefully they do.
@@rickyrickles they sunset almost all the pinnacle weapons and I’m pretty sure they sunsetted a lot of weapons that were released before beyond light
Current time 4/9/2024 into the light releases today, and with that we see the return of iconic weaponry. And it makes me wonder, What if sunsetting never happened?
My favorite pinnacle had to be Randy’s Throwing Knife. Grinding for a good Servant Leader to get that speedy scout rifle feeling back :)
I was able to get a rapid hit/kill clip roll. Made me so happy!
I really miss the tried and true mountaintop, recluse, anarchy combo in pve.
That was a boring ass meta
Basic af last season load out was by far my fav. Ignition Code, Ikelos Smg + anarchy
Nah izy wendigo was the best we had
I sometimes look at my recluse in the vault with 6 figures pve kills and think like "damn dude"
I would love to see onslaught and killing tally brought back into the perk pool
My absolute favorite was the Luna’s Howl. It singlehandedly made me like handcannons
You apparently never got nf... and I'm sorry.
you can still get nf now and its still nutty in regular crucible
@@name_less7687 Well I’m a console player so I preferred the extra stability over the extra range
180s aren't real handcannons
@@rapden18 not anymore
My favorite was Randy’s Throwing Knife, as a scout it was incredible and really felt like what I remember the OG Mida Multi Tool being in D1
Mida in D1 was stupid good 😭
So much slander for loaded question, it’s by far my favorite pinnacle, and it was so strong. The only issue with the weapon is that people used it the way it wasn’t intended. It’s a major killer and ad clearer in one shot… how is that not amazing?? And the explosion was strong enough to kill majors on its own
facts, it also paired extremely well with outbreak perfected and hammerhead/auto loading spike heavy GL
@@sirsquatalot5196 a man of culture right here, perfect combos
Cause mountain top did it twice as well with more range and more damage as well as being able to use recluse
It can’t handle majors that high health, and and the ad clear is sub par to even recluse
@@zachsuarez1830 two different types of ad clear, one shot compared to clips, and if it didn’t kill a high health major they’d be close to death regardless
god i miss randy's throwing knife it had such a nice model too
I loved izzy, recluse/orchid, then delerium/wendigo. Such fun loadouts to run
That is the same loadout I used for a long time.
21% Delierium and Recluse were fucking legendary. They may as well have been exotics.
maybe witchqueen exotic smg will be the new recluse? Pog
Fave pinnacle was Recluse. Playing Last Wish as my first raid with Recluse was so much fun and an absolute cakewalk
I was totally in love with Recluse coupled with MT first, Revoker then, but I actually changed my build before sunsetting, when I first met Mindbender's Ambition: it was love at first glance! 😍
Man I miss the mountaintop
That thing never left my side
Same. Have 40k on MT and 140k on Recluse haha
i feel like every perk from the pinacles should come back, some with changes like reversal of fortune and micro missile. and idk how no-one is talking about harmony being basically a nerfed master of arms
No
I feel like micro missile wouldn't be as bad in today's sandbox
@@SportySpice2004 there could well be good reasons why Bungie wouldn't want to.
I think that micro missile might be able to come back as a frame/type of GL with lowish damage but extremely high speed.
Lol 😂 you’re joking with the Harmony being like Master of Arms right?! Delusional
Forsaken pvp was so good man, the last word and thorn returning was so fun.
Bungie: We made some pretty difficult quests with some of the strongest guns in the game. We hope you like them!
The community: *Uses them constantly for their unfathomable power*
Bungie: You're using them too much, so now you can't use it at all thanks to Light level restrictions.
"132 shots in the mag" immediately cuts to a clip with 190 I'm the mag. Pretty sure overflow went up to 208, double the 104 base mag
I’ve never felt more accomplished in Destiny history than when I got Luna’s Howl, then Bungie took that away.
Same man
Favorite pinnacle was easily loaded question. Just true pve destruction. Also wasn't a pain in the ass to get.
_French_Soldier_ they did it for vog
"Master of arms should never come back "
*laughs in harmony*
But harmony is total ass cause you can't use the gun itself to get *any* effect out of it. You are *required* to rely on your likely, special.
Every harmony roll has been dismantled no matter the quality of the rest of the weapon.
Of all the previous pinnacle weapons, the revoker was the biggest pain for me. I suck with sniper rifles, and I was extremely proud to finally get that one done.
I realize these weapons were a problem for the game, but damn do I really miss them. R.I.P.
Was feeling a little nostalgic and even considered getting Beyond Light. After seeing this, I'm reminded why bother putting in all that hard word only for them to take it away? The grind for these kind of weapons look like such a chore as it is.
They are done with sun setting, no weapons past season of arrivals will be sunset (pre beyond light)
@Kaheeros yeah
After Pinnacle weapons got taken away I stopped playing for years. It was disrespectful that I lost them since it took so much to get them, not only that, anyone can get them now
21% Delirium for burning plates in Gauntlet of Leviathan. Otherwise Recluse was my favorite. That spiderweb skin and the fact it melted ads is why.
What's my favourite pinnacle? Why wouldn't it be recluse, second is 21% delirium, close third is mountaintop.
Can’t believe I actually grinded for like 4 of these weapons only for them to be unusable like months after
Hot take, treat pinnacle weapon like artifacts. They come for a season and then go
