Many years ago I had given up on making pies, couldn't get the crust right, until I bought a Martha Stewart pie book. That book explained everything. I had success with my very 1st pie.
Yeah back in the late 1990s, like 1999-2005 or so I used many of Martha Stewart's books to learn and they are so resourceful. I miss those books! The books definitely would be applicable today too but I had moved a few times so no longer. So I was not meaning the books were only good for 1999-2005. OH no those books would be still good right now!. Martha Stewart is an expert in so many areas and the books confirm so!

There is no one absolutely no one like Martha Stewart. I started my baking odyssey with her raisin bread recipes and I have never looked back. Her methods are precise and on point. Can't wait to try this. Thanks for sharing.

Overall I agree, powder over syrups. Subjective though. Yet I sometimes cheat and get Hershey's bottle of syrup for quick easy mocha. Or to throw some with protein shake :) There are some good syrups out there too.

I'm really confused because this cake got rave reviews yet when I made it and followed the recipe, the caramel was far too greasy due to all the butter which made the layers slide. It also took way longer to cook and reach a malleable consistency. Also, the frosting was more ganache than frosting so I had to add whipped cream to get a better consistency. Ultimately, all of the butter in the recipe cause the whole cake to slide and almost fall apart completely. Can anyone share any tips or tricks they use to make this cake work? What's the secret???

@@MarthaStewart Yes I already saw this video numerous times. It is good. The food can be applicable to all ages depending on the person (s). Although I try to avoid processed cereals. If I buy and open a box of say Cocoa Puffs they will be gone way too fast...sugar, artificial stuff... Yes, I know (for any other commenters) the video was not on cereal but at the opening scene if look at the details there is a bowl of Fruit Loops with that post-it note....Which elicited my comment. So yes for detailed-oriented people the comment is very relevant. Food can be very visual.
Unfortunately most of the American recipes have too much sugar and butter for us Mediterranean folks, and although everything seems and tastes delicious , they are unhealthy and makes you feel uncomfortable ............

Looks amazing! The only thing I would change is adding espresso powder to the frosting. Espresso powder is a must in chocolate frosting.
