Me and a few of my friends on Xbox are installing it right now I’m kinda hype never played before so I’m watching just to get some what of a feel for the game
Honestly, its trash. Pci is waay OP. You can’t be competitive using pure analog or directional which is sad. A 95mph fastball cokes in like 115mlh sometimes and sometimes a 95mph fastball comes in feeling like 80. Curveballs going up 3 feet and then dropping, not like real life. Batters hitting outside pitches and pulling them for homeruns, never happens. The game pretty much just decides who wins and loses regardless of what you do.
i’ve been playing the show for years and this is the first year i’m actually trying to get good at using zone hitting. this video helped me so much with my timing and locating the pitches. great video

Added your changes to my game and within a hour I was putting more balls in play. I was always good at reading the ball but putting the bat on the ball was my biggest issue. Now Im making it happen. Thanks for the video and information.

This video was a game saver for me. I'm an Xbox player so new to the game and despite watching several batting guide video's was still finding that side of the game the most frustrating, to the point of not wanting to play. Followed eveything you said here and suddenly I can hit the ball and feel like I am actually taking part in the ball game. Still a long way to go to become proficient but you have certainly got me on the road...Thanks for that.

Literally, the next showdown I played, I got my highest start at 10 runs! Lost 1 of the rouns that was a pitching round... then won the final showdown with 2 huge homeruns! These tips helped me tons already! immediate impact!
I had to come back to this video to say thank you so much bro! I’ve watched at least 6-8 other hitting tutorials/tips and none of them helped like this. I was ranked 550 and now I’m all the way up to 680. I went from scoring 0-3 runs a game to triple that easily by implementing your suggestions. My pitching is rawwww in this game (2.48 ERA with 70 games played), but I was only playing .500 baseball since my hitting stunk so bad. I’ve won 7 games in a row now! Literally got 18 hits in 6 innings in my first game after watching this video before my opponent quit. My last opponent was over 700 rating so we were on hall of fame and I scored 4 runs in the 1st inning and had 2 more runs with the bases loaded in the 2nd before he quit! This video was a total game changer for me and is going to take my game to the next level! Thanks @Goode!

New to the show but I found this helpful,RTTS mode also has a batting practice. Goto play, view calendar, click on the day of game and there it is batting practice. Several different drills too, As well as one for fielding and base running.
This is the one!! I'm new to The Show on Xbox. I've watched 20 videos at least on hitting. I've played days worth of game time already, but I was barely getting better at hitting. This has accelerated my learning. Giving the example with Chapman and the steps on how to set thumb placement is great. All of the other videos say to learn what works best, but don't give anywhere to start with how to figure what works best for me. It's almost like The Show community doesn't want to help new xbox players get better at hitting. Except for you. Thank you for this! This is a great video.

Has anyone noticed that the contact of the bat hitting the ball sounds way crappier this year ? Like every hit sounds the same, even the perfect contact hits don't really sound too much different. Compared to last year when there was a solid "crack" of the bat. I'm playing on the PS4 so maybe its different on the PS5 ? What are your guys thoughts, anyone else have this issue ?

Watched a bunch of videos that did absolutely nothing to help me. This video helped me go from flirting with a .250 average up to hitting .400+ with power and forcing me into bumping up pitch difficulty. Thanks, brohamski!
Tried this for a little bit in practice then did an extra innings game against the cpu… scored 6 which is unheard of by my standards. Feel like I’m more precise with the pci instead of all over the place. Thanks for the tips and I’ll subscribe.
I’m a returning player but I’m pretty inconsistent with my hitting but I can tell an improvement immediately after watching this my biggest problem was swinging at breaking balls outside the zone but now I have to be more precise with my movements it helps me slow down a little and read them better
I didn’t want to believe your stab thumb method made that much of a difference. But I kept JUST missing pitches, flying out on the warning track & whatnot. Then I tried it. Crushed a 2 run homer 420 feet just inside the right field foul pole 🤯. Thanks man ❤️⚾️

if you are still struggling try strike zone high. It zooms it out a tad bit and raises it. It is still the strike zone angle but you are able to see lower pitches break on offspeed and different types of pitches better

It makes your Pci smaller when you swing, leaving less room for good and perfect contact. And in my experience, power swing gives no boost to power over normal swing

I use the fisher cam and I’m getting pretty good at hitting on legend. I’m still not anywhere close to where I wanna be but I’ve definitely notice a difference. I can’t play on zoom or strike zone it’s way too close for me.
It all depends on the difficulty your playing on. When I switch game modes and hop around difficulties my timing is all over the place. You have to get used to certain difficulties.
I depends on the division. Anything below All star divisions is on veteran. From all star to division series it’s on all star. From division series to World Series it’s on hall of fame. Then in World Series it’s on legend. Hope this helps

As I said in the video, for the first couple of hours the kontrol will feel awkward. That’s normal, stick with them no matter what and you will eventually not be able to play without them
I was struggling with the 8 total based moment for Duvall and changed to your setting in the third inning and went 4-5 and hit a bomb in the 9th to get 8 bases. Helped out so much.
Just put it on pure analog and use the right stick to hit. Very easy ..up is normal swing ..left and right is contact swing. Then you just time your swing according to the pitch
I have the inner braces on and i line it up with the strike zone, and anything on the edge i just based on the braces, anything close on 0-2 just swing at it late and foul it off.it has worked so far
@@rattlers87 I’ve been switching between the 2 a lot I get more home runs using directional but way more hits using zone. On zone I hit almost everything but it’s mostly groundouts even with all the perfects.
I kept playing didnt kill myself but did destroy controllers I think they look cooler with missing pieces. Zone is the only way to play this game I can no longer can use directional. On directional your leaving it up to the game to allow you to get hits on zone its completely on you. I have been getting so many hits now. The best part about zone is you can smash a lot of the shit thrown outside of the box.
Watched this , went into practice for about an hour, next game got a 10-0 rage quit. The thumb placement was literally the thing I never understood and never got good at. No other vids would tell me how to place my thumb. Thanks for the help boss ✊🏽

I've played this game for years. First time on xbox...I've tried this what you've shown and I hit nothing but ground balls or foul tips. Do you use the buttons to hit or the sticks?
I’ve played about 70 games online, 20 games over .500 (bc of my pitching). My team ERA is sub 1.00 but my team OPS is barely .600. It’s so frustrating I’ll win most of my games because of a solo shot or some shit. Gonna try this out see if it improves my offense. Thanks

@@G0ode my pci was going straight down every time before I watched this. When I say straight down I mean high fastballs resulted in my pci at the very bottom of the zone

Great video brotha. Question tho, I’ve heard mixed reviews about whether to use power swings or normal swings. Most have always said normal throughout all the show games but some have said power swings this year are OP. Would love your opinion on this, thanks again!
I haven’t played a baseball game since the old 2k games on the Xbox 360 and now that mlb the show is on Xbox it’s groundbreaking it’s definitely a lot to take in I feel like I’m getting a little better at hitting now but it’s still a struggle at times going into practice mode and having a particular pitch in a certain location over and over again and just practicing hitting that ive found to be useful too
New to The Show, and baseball in general, thanks for the video. This is a noob question but what is the difference between normal/contact/power swing? Feels like I just want to use power swing for every pitch. Should I be using the other two ever?
Personally, I only use normal swing. I hit just as many, maybe even more home runs with normal than power, because power swings has drawbacks. (Smaller pci, smaller perfect window)

best thing for me was to start on beginner and slowly work my way up to the smaller PCI’s

For swing Type, ALWAYS USE NORMAL SWING! (X on PlayStation, A on Xbox!)

I was struggling with the 8 total based moment for Duvall and changed to your setting in the third inning and went 4-5 and hit a bomb in the 9th to get 8 bases. Helped out so much.

Just put it on pure analog and use the right stick to hit. Very easy ..up is normal swing ..left and right is contact swing. Then you just time your swing according to the pitch

When I try to use zone I lose the ability to read if it’s going to be a ball
I have the inner braces on and i line it up with the strike zone, and anything on the edge i just based on the braces, anything close on 0-2 just swing at it late and foul it off.it has worked so far
@@rattlers87 I’ve been switching between the 2 a lot I get more home runs using directional but way more hits using zone. On zone I hit almost everything but it’s mostly groundouts even with all the perfects.
came to the conclusion that neither work and if I keep playing im going to kms
I kept playing didnt kill myself but did destroy controllers I think they look cooler with missing pieces. Zone is the only way to play this game I can no longer can use directional. On directional your leaving it up to the game to allow you to get hits on zone its completely on you. I have been getting so many hits now. The best part about zone is you can smash a lot of the shit thrown outside of the box.
Watched this , went into practice for about an hour, next game got a 10-0 rage quit. The thumb placement was literally the thing I never understood and never got good at. No other vids would tell me how to place my thumb. Thanks for the help boss ✊🏽
Another great tip besides all this andrhe contrfreek is the little foam rings that go around the base of your thumbstick. Helps alot with overflicking
Btw i was the one that said if i hit for average after your tips you get the sub.. well after like a dozen moon shots in 3 games its safe to say you saved my mlb career hahah you rock brother.

Not really, just gotta be able to recognize low off speeds and if you can get to the to hit them well or if they are a ball
I've played this game for years. First time on xbox...I've tried this what you've shown and I hit nothing but ground balls or foul tips. Do you use the buttons to hit or the sticks?

I’ve played about 70 games online, 20 games over .500 (bc of my pitching). My team ERA is sub 1.00 but my team OPS is barely .600. It’s so frustrating I’ll win most of my games because of a solo shot or some shit. Gonna try this out see if it improves my offense. Thanks

@@Prnharlem130st yeah hit bombs more often now. Still tough especially if you’re playing diamond dynasty gold/all-star leagues. Overall, improved tho
I know I’m a month late on this video but these hitting tips have got me all over the ball now my timing is still a bit off but my pci isn’t going straight down anymore

@@G0ode my pci was going straight down every time before I watched this. When I say straight down I mean high fastballs resulted in my pci at the very bottom of the zone
I just usually guess the pitch then put the bat cursor in that position where the ball comes turns red then boom homerun lol 😂
@Delta playz gamez another hint is you must have that cursor thing pointed up when you bat especially if its a power hitter then boom homerun and nah i aint low level lol 😂

Great video brotha. Question tho, I’ve heard mixed reviews about whether to use power swings or normal swings. Most have always said normal throughout all the show games but some have said power swings this year are OP. Would love your opinion on this, thanks again!

I haven’t played a baseball game since the old 2k games on the Xbox 360 and now that mlb the show is on Xbox it’s groundbreaking it’s definitely a lot to take in I feel like I’m getting a little better at hitting now but it’s still a struggle at times going into practice mode and having a particular pitch in a certain location over and over again and just practicing hitting that ive found to be useful too

New to The Show, and baseball in general, thanks for the video. This is a noob question but what is the difference between normal/contact/power swing? Feels like I just want to use power swing for every pitch. Should I be using the other two ever?
Personally, I only use normal swing. I hit just as many, maybe even more home runs with normal than power, because power swings has drawbacks. (Smaller pci, smaller perfect window)
