You not patient at all then
Take the first pitch and then look for YOUR pitch. Sit on a high fast ball or low off speed until you’re on 2 strikes.
Go into practice mode and let the pitcher pitch the ball. Put the controller down and watch. Think in your head, swing, ball, etc. basically what you would do. Do this for a while. Then see how often you are right. You need to train your eye. I was the same way 4-5 years ago. It takes you a while to get good. It isn’t a game you can just jump into and get good. Many controller broken 😀

If u can pitch extremely well and play mind games with ur opponent then u can win a lot, I ain’t the best hitter but I can pitch and it saves me a lot
I went like 15-0 and now I’m 80-50 once you get up to legendary difficult it’s vicious

Curveballs in the dirt are the bane of my existence. They look like low fastballs till the last second because there really isn’t that “bump” in the beginning of the pitch that’s noticeable
This and inside sliders on opposite handed matchups
Fr any sinkers I always swing at even if they are as low as they can possibly go.
I still can't layoff low breaking balls in the dirt
None of these tips helped me because the only thing stopping me from hitting is monitor lag. Because the reaction time between my tv and controller is so SLOW, I can't hit fastballs at all. I'm talking 91mph right down the middle and every swing is "very late". Every decent hitter knows if you can't hit pitches right down the middle, then you are done. Even high CHANGE UPS gives me problems. I can only hit off speed pitches, because those are the only ones I have time to hit. Does anybody have a fix for this? It seems I'm the only person in the world who's going through this -_-
@@KoolKeithProductions I think it just needs a few patches. Getting a smaller monitor could help I have 55 inch and I can crack fastballs sometimes tho.
Great tips! I'm in a wheelchair after a car accident when I was younger and it left me paralyzed(quadriplegic or spinal cord injury)
I can't really move my hands but I've been using my palms on the joysticks. Believe it or not I can still play halfway decent. I've been an Xbox guy forever and the only ⚾ baseball game that's been fun but not a true sim has been supermega 3. It's really pretty cool! I finally got my Xbox series X and just started MLB the show 21 and it's amazing!!! I've been using the batting practice just like you said and I'm going to try the wedge with the pci. It does kind of look like a bat. What buttons do you use to hit with? Do you use the A or B for contact and what about the X button for power? I'm 50yrs old now but believe it or not I was being drafted to play baseball when I got hurt...

That custom practice addition is amazing. Gonna spend hours in there working lefty lefty with fastballs.
For those who struggle with swinging at every pitch, I recommend watching the pitchers arm and release. The moment they let go of the ball, more often than not, you can tell whether it’ll be a ball or strike.
So are you going to tell us what to look for, or are you keeping that information to yourself? lol
@@BeanerMan13 it’s kind of hard to describe. just go into practice and and look at the pitchers arm until you get it

Dude I was HORRIBLE at this game even though I have been playing it since Big Papi was the cover athlete. I only used to play RTTS and last year I tried Diamond dynasty and I was hitting around .130s and thanks to you I became a .350s hitter🙌🏽

I find that because that’s the way I see it on TV when watching an actual game I’ve just always hit better that way at least I think that’s the reason but any other view that I use the ball just goes too fast for me. Even breaking pitches.

im on xbox and this helps alot. i was doing directional for a little but was very inconsistent. now i practiced with zone and its great.

Team practice is also a good way to practice. In team practice there's actually infield and outfield players. It's basically just a half an inning of regular baseball. The pitcher mixes up his throws and pitches outside the zone too. (good for learning how to take pitches) You can even choose if you want baserunners (good for practicing base running) and you can choose how many outs, balls, strikes you want to start start with. I do regular bp for like 30 minutes, then 30 minutes of team practice to warm up before I start my Ranked sessions every day.

I feel like you can learn to hit, but you can’t learn to be patient.. you either have good plate discipline or you don’t.
Just pay attention at your situation, when it comes to patience. I mean, you just gotta think: "is it worth?" before the swing. if you're in good shape in the game, you don't need to start swinging at everything as if you were desperate. Sometimes, taking the strike is not bad at all
That is not true
The way I learned plate discipline was surprisingly simple. I got it from moviegaming TV (I think) a few years back and basically it was take until two strikes every at bat. It seems like you're just digging yourself a hole but I noticed that it helped me recognize pitches early and tell how they would break

Right after watching this and made adjustments I had a HR in 4 games straight and went on a 19 game hit streak on RTTS. This absolutely works. Now if I can just get my timing down I’d be solid.

Started taking pitches which dwindles the confidence of the pitcher allowing your contact to increase which in turn is more hits allowing more runs

New follower from Xbox. Loving the content!!!. I found that I have trouble with the physical placement of the PCI itself. I sit in the middle just like you but always find myself getting under or above the pitch. I use control freeks as well. It’s almost like the sensitivity is fast or something. I’m not sure but I found that is my problem.

Helped a lot I'm new to the game on xbox I'm hitting everything now but 90 percent are outs or pop ups ..I changed my setup to yours feels 10 times better my guy is a 64 overall so that may have some to do with it ...I turned all my perks to batting hoping it will help some thanks for the video help tremendously
hey kyle do you think that the hardest pitches to hit have changed because for me changeups have been rlly nasty this year bc they always look like their gonna break and then sometimes they do or don't some times its weird. if you can give me your input on that one and also great job on that flawless br run the shadow realm truly looks like a hitters paradise
I have more struggles with the fielding part than swinging or pitching. Cant get used to the wing up throws from the outfield
Kyle do you have any timing mechanisms. One person I know that does have one is mcgunski. He does click click click from timing when the hands break yo when the foot lands to the swing. Do you do anything like that or do you just swing

Hi. Is there a way to shift the batter’s stance so he aims to hit the ball to one field or another? For example, a righty shifting his front foot to the right to try and hit the ball to right field.
This video was amazing. My question is how do you learn the timing in this game. I consistently find myself in 2 strike counts sitting slider speed and I’m getting the hang of that. But now I’m 2-0 I get the hanging breaker over the middle, my pci is on the ball and I have good timing. The result is lazy fly ball to center. I look at the swing feedback and I hit the ball right off the front of the plate. That’s ideal from everything I’ve ever been taught but the game doesn’t reward me? Now take that same swing but I’m slightly early. The ball is gone nearly every time. I guess I’m really just wondering if I need to consciously let the ball travel or if the game does the for me
