I got an acoustic baritone a couple of years back and it was one of my best musical purchases ever. Ace to play, superb sound and just works so well, especially in a situation where you have multiple guitarists. An electric baritone really should follow suit :)
I just ordered one JUST for ambient jamming! Great to hear someone shares my opinion that the lower tuning sounds ace when doing ambient drones. Btw Chapman baritones are underrated
Kratom Moon lll two years later, let me tell you that the chapman baritone (not the bea signature) wasn’t what I expected. It wasn’t bad at all, not bad quality or anything it just felt dead?Anything else, especially the solar to me feels a bit better. I ended up returning it and spending more on a completely different guitar and I’m now looking to get a new baritone now. I think the baritone I got is now discontinued anyway. The new chapmans apparently are a lot better quality but I would not buy one without playing it, unless it was one of the pro ones or a bea sig but again at that kinda price another world opens and you’ve got so much choice. I’m not brand oriented, I gave up looking up specs and buying on paper. For me a guitar needs to feel “right”. I always walk into a shop thinking I’ll like a certain brand because of spec but almost every time walk out with something completely different. One thing that does really draw me into chapman is the look, they really look nice and they have some really nice neck woods on the bea models. Hope this helps!
I really feel you had a great moment there Rabea.. I could put a couple of times in. But no, I really want people to enjoy it all from start to finish.. That Jam, was unbelievable... really.... Im proud, and so happy that i have the oppotunity to hear and feel that... Congratulations on your sig. guitar.. Really.. No more words.. Just.. STANDING F*** OVATION!!! BTW: Sorry for the bad gramma, Im Danish
Great explanations I finally understood complex specs of my own 8 baritone. Two great musicians and great 1o1 players. Thanks guys. Kris keep it rolling!
You guys rocked it on that last 3 minutes man!!! Make an hr long CD with that style of clean to dirty crescendo and I would buy it in a heartbeat ! ! !...Seriously! I Would....Love the clean and mellow mixed with the build-up.
I do a lot of cevers in baritone. I sing too and had thyroid cancer which left me with bass range voice. So I matched up the guitar to my voice. I sing and play in open a tuning and convert music to my tuning.
great idea.. I think tuning reflects the voice a lot.. I have a deep baritone voice and the first thing i realised is that I do not like standard A4=440Hz. I will lower the A4 to 432Hz first.. Sets the passaggio at the right spot.. I think if you do that you will realise that you can tune a half step higher or now 70 cents higher than what you tune in today.. Say you are in Bb-standard at 440Hz.. When using A4=431Hz (C4=256Hz) you could tune up to C-standard.. A4=440Hz causes early register shift for the voice. At A4=431Hz you do not need to do any "lift". Notes just fall easy around the passaggios..
Thanks a lot! We both enjoyed ourselves so much... man. Especially, because this was our first jam together, so we didn't know what to expect. haha! //Kris
also this is the very best of Germany and England, right here. in fact fuck it, the best of the guitar brotherhood. much love guys thank you for the show. jam out at the end was great to watch.
"So this is how this one sounds" ... CH CH DUUUHHHH CH CHUM DUUUUUHHHHH "And then we should hear a bit of a difference between the two" ... CH CH DUUUHHHH CH CHUM DUUUUUHHHHH I imagine that they feel and sound different in person but someone please break it to him that all that distortion comes across the same on UA-cam lol
Aight I usually tend to disagree with stuff like this but it's spot on this time. It's not even a general thing that tones like that are alway the same on youtube but this time they are.
Well, at first I thought they sound the same, but just a split second before Rabea stopped playing the second guitar an alert popped up in my head saying "This guitar is more bassy" and then Rabea said that it has less high end, so the difference is audible but both guitars are really really close.
So a baritone guitar can be a pretty useful instrument. A lot of sounds can be extracted from it, for example, country western , surf rock and also big powerful metal sound.
Oh boy .... the MMM1!!!!! I also searched FOR YEARS! Until I find one on Reverb last year and couldn't let pass!!! hahahaha. So awesome that your inspiration was also that guitar! It does play insanely good!
I just got a Mike Mushok PRS because I wanted an affordable baritione but I really like this model and hope to get one soon. It's a great looking and sounding guitar.
I like Rabea he really looks like he listens to you. No eye avoidence. Total focus and acknowledgement. That's probably why he plays with focus and feelings. Probably my favorite demo guitarist but not my favorite album artist. My favorite bass player is the bass player for Unprocessed.
Would somebody plz be so nice to enlighten me: What's on that T-Shirt? I guess it's a band shirt. And I really wanna know... And Bea great work on your signature. I followed its development from your first prototype vids and love to see its final state. Nailed it.
9:10 Of course they will sound slightly different, the bridge pickups aren't the same. I wonder how words like "more percussive" can be used here. There was just a minor difference and again, most probably because the guitars have different pickups. The wood plays a very minor role, here.
can someone explain me why is this neck is not set through and why is that bolt on neck? any specific reason? And how is that original chapman humbucker in bridge can handle low tuning like G♯ or F♯. I am talking about clarity and definition, which is need in those low tunings.
I want a rabea signature baritone for the 28 inch scale length and the able to do drop A, I mean I could do that on one of my guitars I have, but it’s not the same
So sad that the range of left-handed Chapman guitars is so limited :( ... I think my only options then are either Eastwood guitars or PRS. They both have lefty Baritones I think :)
I was literally buying the ML1 Modern Baritone, when i saw this video and i decided it's WAY to ugly... One wood texture and color on the body, second on the fretboard - and they clash like mad - and third wood color on the back... Looks like someone made in in a shed with whatever leftover woods he had... Look at 9.35, it's Hideous. At least make the whole backside black. And the fretboard is warm wood color for some reason, while the body is deasturated. Colorblind person designed it.
Actually I wanted to buy a cheap baritone and I was waiting for the new standard Chapman to be released but they came up with that horrible looking finish, the ugliest guitar I can imagine and for some reason the ONLY Chapman guitar that comes with no color option. I wouldn't ever want to touch that thing. Sounds OK, but sorry, looks so bad. :*(
Before anyone asks, yes it does.
Best comment, that's the information i needed.
"It's brutal innit"
"YEAH"
Baritone for ambient sounds are what it's all about....some of the best sounds I've ever had the pleasure of hearing
I got an acoustic baritone a couple of years back and it was one of my best musical purchases ever. Ace to play, superb sound and just works so well, especially in a situation where you have multiple guitarists. An electric baritone really should follow suit :)
Guitaraholic27 Peterson or you use a 7 String, and tune the g String to a f# - like that u have a baritone but with an additional higher string
I just ordered one JUST for ambient jamming! Great to hear someone shares my opinion that the lower tuning sounds ace when doing ambient drones. Btw Chapman baritones are underrated
@@maksqwe1 i am going to get a Solar baritone. Thinking about one of these as well

Rabea's playing is so articulate. Gotta love it
Really fun interview, I really like Kris and his chilled style. Well done Thomann, that's the way to go.
PS: First!
Thanks Esteban, we'll keep it up! //Philipp
How they play together in the end is just incredible!!!
I really feel you had a great moment there Rabea.. I could put a couple of times in. But no, I really want people to enjoy it all from start to finish.. That Jam, was unbelievable... really.... *Baritone is love*
*Baritone is life*
I had actually tears in my eyes listening to that jam at the end...
so good my gosh!!
Came for the guitars, stayed for the awesome shredding in the end!
oh my god, that final jam! Rabea has so much feeling in his playing style!
That end jam though 😊 that was awesome! 🤘🤘🤘 And Mr Kris from Thomann, you sir are good
Great explanations I finally understood complex specs of my own 8 baritone. Two great musicians and great 1o1 players. Thanks guys. Kris keep it rolling!

That amazing riff at around 5:00.. so Derek Trucks.. incredible. The tone and the playing are perfect
Rabea's Pinch Harmonic Face is epic
Video: says staind
Me: *heavy breathing*
I've never really desired a baritone guitar but that BEA baritone is really tempting.
I actually love Kris. Such a smiley guy
I do a lot of cevers in baritone. I sing too and had thyroid cancer which left me with bass range voice. So I matched up the guitar to my voice. I sing and play in open a tuning and convert music to my tuning.
Chris W I'm sorry to hear about your health complication, I'm glad that you made it through. Keep rockin', man.
Hey, you still sound good man
Thanks so much guys

Always take care of yourself. Keep doing what you love man. 👍
Absolutely terrific video! Loved the outro!
You do better guitar demos better than anyone I've heard ! WOW!!!!!!!!!!! Amazing ! ! ! You should do more of them like this.
I absolutely loved the jamming at the end and I wish every guitar video ended like this
That last jam was awesome. You guys are soooo good and team up well !
Possibly, one of the best jam sessions in existence on UA-cam.
Thanks a lot! We both enjoyed ourselves so much... man. Especially, because this was our first jam together, so we didn't know what to expect. haha! //Kris
I like the cleaner tones of a baritone, not the djent tone.
Djent is pure garbage
Seriously you two should do something together. Both vids have been awesome playing and stylistic wise
also this is the very best of Germany and England, right here. in fact fuck it, the best of the guitar brotherhood. much love guys thank you for the show. jam out at the end was great to watch.
I love the color on the bari. Wish that crimson was a color for his standard signature.
Terrific playing! Loved it all!
Absolutely amazing, love it.
Awesome playing guys!
"So this is how this one sounds" ... CH CH DUUUHHHH CH CHUM DUUUUUHHHHH
"And then we should hear a bit of a difference between the two" ... CH CH DUUUHHHH CH CHUM DUUUUUHHHHH
I imagine that they feel and sound different in person but someone please break it to him that all that distortion comes across the same on UA-cam lol
I was gonna get upset with this comment until I came to that part and you were spot on haha :L
Alex Price get some headphones dude
Even with a decent pair, UA-cam's compression still makes the difference minute.
Aight I usually tend to disagree with stuff like this but it's spot on this time. It's not even a general thing that tones like that are alway the same on youtube but this time they are.

Y’all took us to church there at the end 🙌🏽
Say what you want about Staind, Mike Mushok's signature baritones are sick. I finally got my hands on a PRS SE MM baritone and I love it!
when he goes to the second pickup almost sounds like the riff from Passionflower by Jon Gomm lol love that guitar
Oh boy .... the MMM1!!!!!
That jam was "the" shit....awsome sounds guys
id love to own one of your sig models just great sounding guitar! You did a great job!
I like Rabea he really looks like he listens to you. No eye avoidence. Total focus and acknowledgement. That's probably why he plays with focus and feelings. Probably my favorite demo guitarist but not my favorite album artist. My favorite bass player is the bass player for Unprocessed.
Do the signature's come with the real pickups? like a warpig for rabea? thinking not, but that would make the pricepoint soooo much better
Wow Bea always seems to surprise me with something interesting 13:42 wow what a note tone. Please point me somewhere in the music I could hear that.
a bit of a phil x lick at 14:08?
GREAT JAM , MEN!
Great jam guys!!
Great stuff hear...I ordered the baritone....back ordered....perfecto
I normally prefer a 7 string for Drop A tuning but this was juicy. Great ambient tones too.
Don't put me to sleep Rabea! Damn tasty playing.
Sounds great. Thinking of getting the "normal" 25.5 inch. Just wish you did the baritone colours on the normal one.
dat 730 euro meter casually blinkedy-blinking away in the background
What tuning is he using? Sounds great, by the way.
I bet this guitar sounds awesome when tuned to B E A ...
I have played one in that tuning and you are right, it does.
//Andy
Would somebody plz be so nice to enlighten me:
What's on that T-Shirt?
I guess it's a band shirt.
And I really wanna know...
And Bea great work on your signature. I followed its development from your first prototype vids and love to see its final state.
Nailed it.
Thiemo Neumann that's Edgar Allan Poe mate. one of the greatest English poets!
Suyash J thanks mate
I just guessed band shirt cause of the dead eyes of Poe
probably a more stylized version I guess...not of any band as far as I know
Edgar Allan Poe wrote in the English language, however, he is famously an American.
9:10 Of course they will sound slightly different, the bridge pickups aren't the same. I wonder how words like "more percussive" can be used here. There was just a minor difference and again, most probably because the guitars have different pickups. The wood plays a very minor role, here.
4:05 infinite progression- animals as leaders ?? :')
whats the dude from thomann.de called? super nice guy. will be subscribing to the content as long as he is on it :-)
That's Kris! :) Thank you for subscribing!
Are the first 2 guitars tuned to Drop A, and the jam at the end tuned to standard A?
I would buy your baritone to play djent it sounds great in a variety of ranges
Love the EAP shirt Rabea!
Giovanni Cerva He my gf favorite writer!
can someone explain me why is this neck is not set through and why is that bolt on neck? any specific reason? And how is that original chapman humbucker in bridge can handle low tuning like G♯ or F♯. I am talking about clarity and definition, which is need in those low tunings.
What’s with the pedals on the wall?
Love both sigs and would have bought one if they were not so overpriced...
I want a rabea signature baritone for the 28 inch scale length and the able to do drop A, I mean I could do that on one of my guitars I have, but it’s not the same
is there a difference in sound between a baritone and a normal guitar thats been down tuned?
So do they have the same size or not? Or ml 3 have burst finish so appear smaller? Sorry of my english
If Chappmen made a guitar with a 48mm neck option I would be buying one .
the difference in the baritones did come out here on yt ... but both of them sound killer \m/ too bad there are no chapman's in Perú :(
Bea's bend at 13:41 😠 me gusta
So funny he mentioned that ibanez. I searched far and wide for that thing after i got the prs. Found one on ebay.
Umm yea, I think an ML3 Bea just hit the top of the bucket list.
Need a left handed Baritone!! My suggestion would be the Rabea sig in grey! There are pretty much no left handed baritones AT ALL on the market!
Lewis Palmer It's actually not too hard to convert a guitar with a bolt-on neck to baritone, so that's always an option.
Evan C. Perhaps, but it would be nice to have the option to buy a complete guitar.
Is left-handed available?
Unfortunately not!
So sad that the range of left-handed Chapman guitars is so limited :( ... I think my only options then are either Eastwood guitars or PRS. They both have lefty Baritones I think :)
I want that Joyo head
That's a cool shirt. I want his shirt. Poe.
The first guitar sounds like a cherry blossom, the other is more brown in lower tones. They'll say both sound like they were made of some wood
Ok kris is on the same wavelength as rabea here. Those two need to make some music.
Thanks a lot mate!! It was definitely one of my absolute favourite shootings ever. Bea is such an awesome dude. Very inspiring too. :)
//cheers, Kris
Good thing they didn't start with the jam first...would have watched it several times before reaching the interview part
One of my favourite jams ever!! Bea is such an inspiring dude and player. It was an absolute pleasure to work with him.
Cheers! //Kris
>"I don't play djent that much"
>toska
>dangerously close to djent
every time Bea says "beast" take a shot and give the fro a fluff
Any lefties?
Want! please...
Does it DJENT??????????
Des sous titres en francais serai bien venue .
Wow
Yeah, if I could play as well as anyone it'd probably be Rabea.
Coffee!
Fuckin jam
Chapman needs a 7 string with those pups
It's coming...
Robert Moore all over your face
I was literally buying the ML1 Modern Baritone, when i saw this video and i decided it's WAY to ugly... Baritone rings so disgusting you need to cover strings before nut with sth
I think these guitars are Chinese made and they charge 1000$
Close, South Korean.
Are these guitars meant to play real music, or are they just good for "Wayne's World" noodling?
Baritones are useless because of 7 string guitars
XDDDDDDDD
Check out the tone story and 7 string baritone too, my friend
Seriously, why wouldn't you extend your range if you can?
Bar Goldstein ,no worries
Not everyone needs the extended range...
