Awesome! I have the 25.5. I had a Gold Evertune installed and redid the electronics with Bare Knuckle Juggernauts in Gold Tyger with Black Hex Pole Screws. Tried out the Bare Knuckle 550K pot and it added even more clarity to the sound. These guitars are so good for the money and a great platform for upgrades.
I have installed a bare knuckle impulse into my 27 inch 7 string guitar but i kept the old pots in there. Should i consider swapping it? Does the clarity increase overall or just when rolling back the volume?
HateCreation Hey man, it adds more clarity to the volume pot when up at full and I love how it adds more spank to the split positions. If you want more clarity when rolling the pot back I would recommend a treble bleed mod. Lemme know if you have anymore questions ✌️
I wish there were more 7 strings with longer than 27" scale. Really craving a 28" baritone but I'm so used to writing with a 7 string range rather than just the lower range that I'd miss it I think. Maybe I'll try one out if I go to a chapman retailer.
@alan wake I'm mostly in open tunings where I like having the full open range available. Typically its AEADead and I like having all of those strings available because of how I write
2024 - still one of the best Baritone guitars on this planet. I own a Schecter C1 Apocalypse, ESP BB-600 and the EC-1000. All great Baritones but nothing compares to the Chapman. No idea how they can build such a great guitar for under 1k. Thanks for this video that made me buy this baby.
I regret selling it at some point. I switched to Baritone almost exclusively and currently play a Harley Benton 27" and I wish for an extra inch of scale and I noticed how LITTLE offer there is if you want a 28" scale with 24 frets...
My problem with a baritone guitar longer than 26.5 inches is that when your string gauge isn’t thick enough and you tend to fret hard, the notes won’t be in pitch. This is the exact reason I sold my very beautiful playing Chapman ML3 BEA Baritone. To be fair though I only had 13-62 gauge strings on it, tuned to A standard.

I have the same guitar, I personally don't like the pick ups. Feel like when you get into the G# range and lower, it starts to sound muddy even with .074 gauge strings on the low E. Gonna try and install some active pick ups to hopefully give it more gain and less muddiness...Using Soldano SLO-100 as well for my interface.
Gotta love my 20" baritone... Haha, good save tho with the Paul David's like transition :D Maybe the guitar was in b-stock just because of the flaws you mentioned. But it's got some fat toanz!
I don't mind. The Plini Strandberg only has a veneer and he decided that on purpose so that they don't have to chop down as many of the expensive, rarer trees and I can get behind that. At the end of the day it literally does not matter, it still looks the same.

I'm sure people get used to it after a while. But a guitar should be perfect in every design point if you buy one. and truth is, this headstock is usgly as hell indeed.
I was involved in the original collaborative design project to design the first Chapman guitars and we all voted as a community for this reverse telecaster style headstock, so different strokes. You may not like it, but we all wanted this
I'm still pissed at myself for never getting one of these as they seem to be discontinued, I got a 30' baritone recently but came to the conclusion that the lowest string just sounded really dull and the guitar just felt unwieldy in general.
From what I observed so far having dealt with couple of Chapmans, the pickups are more than likely a BKP knock-off, the mid-range is so similar it is almost scary :D
Unfortunately I never got to try one! The price is too high for a guitar with such basic specs and outdated pickups. Btw I sold this too as I couldn't justify this either, but it was definitely good value for its money. I now got a Harley Benton Amarok and a video is coming.

How has this guitar held up till now (Oct 2021)? I chose it over the ML3 Bea Baritone because of the 24 SS frets, but wonder how your long term experience was.
Cool video!!! However I had a bad experience with my chapman (ml3 first korean models) due to poor electronics. I was in love with the looks and playing, however the electronics on the guitar are atrocius (noises and cuts all the time).... A friend also had a bad experience with the nut on his chapman... so it seems that the quality controll is not the best... Hope it keeps working good for you on the future man!!
I've heard so much controversial things about the Chapmans, some love them, some absolutely hate them (although I think many who hate them online never actually played one). I wanted to stay neutral and give it a try, also in relation to the Chappers story that went nuts over the winter. I figured, some great players and known people like Rabea Massad, Pete Cotrell and Rob Scallon play them, so they can't be that bad. To update my statement about the fret leveling in this video, I was able to improve it by setting it up differently (I think that it needs a different approach to the setup than a bolt-on), I reduced the relief and raised the bridge saddles and ended up with a lower action but not more fretbuzz, if not less. Considering the gauge, which will always be thick as fuck, even a 72 gauge for F# just can't be set up than a 46 for a standard E. There will always be some buzz. So far I've been enjoying this a lot and I'm having the inspiration that I was looking for. Win!

I don't hate Chappers and I love Bea, that's why I bought the guitar 🤔 However after two years with the guitar I think you can have better options for that price like Ibanez or LTD (and now of course Solar). With this said, I would never sell my guitar because I bought it with all my love and support to the Chapman team and I truly enjoy the feel. Hope it works well for you in the future man! I´m also going for a Thornhill/Loathe vibe rn and I´m trying to decide between the ESP LTD M-1000MS FM stb (which matt van duppen of thornhill actually plays) and this one. I´m a little bit worried that the 26.5 aren´t enaugh for that style, but on the other hand matt plays it so... What are your thoughts on this? Also the fanned fret kinda scares me, I come from a pop punk background and played an lp studio for like 5 years and now I´m changing genres within my band (I´m actually the vocalist but I basicly write everything with the drummer). Hallo Jakob. Mit der Esp Ltd 1000MS hättest du schonmal eine gute Qualität und ebenfalls gute Hardware/PUs aber wenn du von einer Les Paul mit entsprechender Mensur kommst, dann würde ich dir wirklich dazu raten eine Gitarre mit FF auszuprobieren. Borg dir eine von einem Freund, frag bei bekannten Bands etc. In der Regel merkst du nach 1-2 Stunden ob du zurecht kommst oder nicht. In der Regel geht das ziemlich schnell, da die einzige Umstellung weite Akkorde sind und das man seine Hand natürlicher "greifen" lässt. Wenn es keine Möglichkeit gibt es auszuprobieren, empfehle ich dir einfach ein günstigeres Modell (Jackson oder Ibanez zum Beispiel) auszuprobieren und bei nicht gefallen zurückzuschicken. Ich habe einige FF durch und bin mit meiner Ibanez RGD61ALMS (26,8-25-5) sehr zufrieden. (Drop G- F# 68-12) Je größer der Winkel wird (z.b. 25.5-28)umso merkwürdiger wird es. Probieren geht vor studieren. Grüße!
@@BigMetalDaddy1301 Da kann ich nur zustimmen. Das muss man einfach fühlen. Der erste Tag mit 28" war gewöhnungsbedürftig, jetzt fühlt es sich normal an und 25,5" wie eine Kindergitarre. Für Thornhill tunings würde ich schon etwas mehr als 26,5" anraten, aber jeder hat seinen Geschmack.

@@jakedoesmusic5372 Alternativ kann ich dir die Harley Benton 7SB Deluxe sehr empfehlen. 7 Saiter mit 27er Mensur! Die Standard Tonabnehmer sind schon echt super, mehr als solide Hardware, Graphit Nut, super Verarbeitung und sehr stabile Stimmung! 300€ gerade mal. Habe einen bare knuckle Impulse an der Bridge eingebaut und bin komplett glücklich damit!
I feel that. I don't understand why I didn't think of using a baritone years ago. Don't buy into the 7 string 8 string hype for low down tuning. It's overrated unless you're a hardcore shredding beast lead guitarist that uses all of those extra strings. Personally I only need 6 strings...If that lol.

Did you consider a Baritone conversion neck ? At the moment i´m looking into a Baritone aswell but did not find really the right one. Really nice sounds !
Not really, what else than a Strat or Tele could you convert? I was looking for a while before I found this one. There are much more baritones out there than you think, but most are not metal orientated (i.e. Danelectro) or just have 22 frets (PRS, Rabea Signature which I almost got instead). This ticks all the boxes. Humbuckers, modern shape, 28", 24 ss frets and all the satin goodness!
@@MilianMalivukMusic Well you can convert everything with a strat or tele neck pocket. Yeah i know there are lots of guitars but not the right one for me. The only problem is see with the conversion enck ist the length of the neck. A guitar that is a baritone from the start can change the position from the bridge and pickups. So the neck isn´t that long. Will see maybe it is easier to just built one. :D
Phew, that's tough. Feeling is similiarly awesome, however the two point trem and the string trees are a drawback for me, so if I could trade the Charvel against the Chapman in 25,5" I probably would. Maybe I'll even do that :D
Honestly I think pickups don't matter that much. Some mid output pickups can sound as great in metal than high output if you dial your tone in correctly. As long as it's a somewhat hotter humbucker.
Maple top with a flame veneer to fake it, noname self branded pickups and bridge for that price? Chapman really did go insane... You can get better stuff for $400-500 from fucking harley benton...
I guess the fret buzz is the reason it being a B-stock. I would send it back. In my opinion, these Chapmans are waaaaay too overpriced. 1000 euro, and you get own branded pickups? Veneer? Blemish? nah...
Blemishes make for b-stock, mate, not fret buzz. However, for buzz and in-house pickups (excusing the veneer bc there is a real maple cap underneath) for a grand is a bit much. I would rather drop $580 in a standard model and mod it for around the same price, if not less

I don't mean any disrespect, but baritone guitars are really unappealing for me and really lame. You lose register and lose comfort with the longer scale. The brands are pushing this because is cheaper than 7/8s to build. Pointless!

It is a real maple top, and it has an additional flamed maple veneer on top of that.
I thought the pro range did NOT have veneers. My Ghost Fret from the first run is not a veneer. I know the standard range does

Ich werd mich mal bei befreundeten bands umhören ob dort irgendjemand ff spielt. Wenn nicht bestell ich sie einfach mal auf gut glück, ich meine was soll schon schief gehen haha. Ich bin dicke Saiten auch gewöhnt also sollte die Esp mit den 26.5 schon hinkommen.

@@MilianMalivukMusic Danke für die Antwort! Ich denke ich starte einfach mal mit den 26.5" und vielleicht werden es ja im nächsten Jahr die 28". Es geht mir halt auch darum einfach ein Workhorse im Thornhill F# Tuning zu haben für´s Songwriting und ich denke das macht die Esp ganz gut, eben auch weil es noch keine so große umstellung ist.

@@jakedoesmusic5372 Alternativ kann ich dir die Harley Benton 7SB Deluxe sehr empfehlen. 7 Saiter mit 27er Mensur! Die Standard Tonabnehmer sind schon echt super, mehr als solide Hardware, Graphit Nut, super Verarbeitung und sehr stabile Stimmung! 300€ gerade mal.
Habe einen bare knuckle Impulse an der Bridge eingebaut und bin komplett glücklich damit!
I feel that. I don't understand why I didn't think of using a baritone years ago. Don't buy into the 7 string 8 string hype for low down tuning. It's overrated unless you're a hardcore shredding beast lead guitarist that uses all of those extra strings. Personally I only need 6 strings...If that lol.
Did you need to modify the nut at all to fit the .72 gauge on it? I noticed they ship stock with a .62 so I wasn’t sure if that was an easy swap

What I do when going up a gauge is using the string as a file to slightly open the according nut slot for each one (mainly the wound strings)

Thanks! Yes, definitely. I use the 24th much more than one would think, I often use it in tapping to tap the octave for example.

Did you consider a Baritone conversion neck ? At the moment i´m looking into a Baritone aswell but did not find really the right one. Really nice sounds !
Not really, what else than a Strat or Tele could you convert? I was looking for a while before I found this one. There are much more baritones out there than you think, but most are not metal orientated (i.e. Danelectro) or just have 22 frets (PRS, Rabea Signature which I almost got instead). This ticks all the boxes. Humbuckers, modern shape, 28", 24 ss frets and all the satin goodness!
@@MilianMalivukMusic Well you can convert everything with a strat or tele neck pocket. Yeah i know there are lots of guitars but not the right one for me. The only problem is see with the conversion enck ist the length of the neck. A guitar that is a baritone from the start can change the position from the bridge and pickups. So the neck isn´t that long. Will see maybe it is easier to just built one. :D

Phew, that's tough. Feeling is similiarly awesome, however the two point trem and the string trees are a drawback for me, so if I could trade the Charvel against the Chapman in 25,5" I probably would. Maybe I'll even do that :D

Honestly I think pickups don't matter that much. Some mid output pickups can sound as great in metal than high output if you dial your tone in correctly. As long as it's a somewhat hotter humbucker.

Have you had any noise issues with your PRS MT15? I've had unusable issues with having anything run through the FX Loop
Not at all, I use drives and a compressor in front of it, reverb and chorus in the FX loop without any more noise than usual

I guess the fret buzz is the reason it being a B-stock. I would send it back. In my opinion, these Chapmans are waaaaay too overpriced. 1000 euro, and you get own branded pickups? Veneer? Blemish? nah...
Blemishes make for b-stock, mate, not fret buzz. However, for buzz and in-house pickups (excusing the veneer bc there is a real maple cap underneath) for a grand is a bit much. I would rather drop $580 in a standard model and mod it for around the same price, if not less

I don't mean any disrespect, but baritone guitars are really unappealing for me and really lame. You lose register and lose comfort with the longer scale. The brands are pushing this because is cheaper than 7/8s to build. Pointless!
