I also wanted to thank you for sharing your videos. I love everything I have seen you make. I would never be able to figure this stuff out on my own, so I really, really appreciate it!
What a lovely tin! And hey, your video was absolutely charming. Besides learning several new things (thank you for ALL your helpful tips), I’m left with a happy smile on my soul, too!💝
i wish i had watched these before I started decoupaging...I've been doing it all wrong and have the lousy results to prove it. You're a lifesaver, Patti!
I'm so glad u showed this because I have a couple of these tins and now I know what I can do with them....Very Pretty... Thanks again for sharing, you're the BEST❤️❤️
I thought l was the only person who didn’t apply the decoupage on their item first. The decoupage liquid soaks straight through the thin tissue or napkin anyway... I loved your beautiful little Altoid’s Tin, what a lovely gift this would make! Thank you for sharing your wonderful talents with everyone. ♥️👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I recently got some tins from a friend, the wax paper is exactly what I need to use. I was afraid to do anything to them because the tops rip everything. You rock Gf! Love ya to bits! Brilliant idea!
Thank for the video. Your videos is always so inspiring and comforting . I have a few of these cans and didn't want to throw them out and was trying to figure out a cool way to make them look nice for reuse. 😄
This is the first time I have seeing decoupaging without applying the glue first. I almost always get a little bubble or wrinkle here and there. Will definitely try this method today. Thanks!
Top job! Love it. I have an oval, porcelain jewelry dish w/ lid & Chippendale style legs. Going to try to to decoupage it. Thank you for the tutorial. ❤️ 💛 💚 💙 💜
“Uncle” as in “I give up, these are too strong”. I actually have an empty on of these under the quilt that is my “headboard” attached to the wall (hold the little rubber things that go on headphones that one of my dogs loves to chew on). This is so much prettier!!
Patti, you've done it UH-GIN !!!! This is so so pretty -- and can have so many uses -- today is my son's 27th birthday -- where does the time go? Anyway, after I found your channel a few years ago, I was decoupaging EVERYTHING! -- ha -- and on one of his birthdays he said to the effect to one of his friends who came over to celebrate a little -- careful, he warned them, if you sit still too long she'll decoupage YOU !!! What a great memory -- have a great week !!
LOL! I think I've mentioned my dogs before right? My husband has said to me, "You've decoupaged the dog again!" They tend to be under my work table and sometimes a little sticky paper will drip off onto them. Whoops. And where does the time go-right? Thank you again Patricia and Happy Birthday to your son! Patti
Hello. Regarding the UNCLE! Altoids are 'curiously strong mints' so you might want to cry UNCLE! to make it stop. I love this tin. Very nice! Thank you for sharing.
This is awesome! I want to try it! Question, do I HAVE to paint with chalk paint or is that optional? I ask because one of my tins is just white and I would love that as background color. Thank you so much in advance
Hello, what is the best decoupage medium to use for rice paper? Would it be the same one used for napkin decoupage projects or do I need to buy something else? Thanks!!
Thank you! My napkin pattern is busy so you can't see it, there is a little bit of raised lettering on the tin but you can't read it, and it doesn't show nearly as much as I thought it would. :)
Do you always have to paint the object a similar color as the background of the napkin for it to look good?? What if it is a neutral background, for example metallic gold?? I am new to this, so I really have no idea here....but so far, all of the videos I’ve watched suggest finding a matching or similar color. Just curious about your thoughts. Also, if I haven’t bought the “napkin decoupage glue yet” (which I will, through your link), can I add water to mod Podge to make it thinner and easier to work with?
Very nice! I have a large olive oil tin I'm wondering about doing. It would make a handy watering can. Have you ever done anything like this? I have the tins because I make homemade soap also as a hobby. Thank you for these videos!
Hi Sandra, I love that you make hand made soaps, I always buy those at craft shows! Yes on the olive oil tin, you would want to make sure to wash the outside well since there's always some bit of oil residue on it then follow the same instructions. :) I have a page on Facebook Upcycle with Decoupage and if you would like to show me your creation, feel free. I love seeing other peoples work. (soaps too) Patti
Amazing video, thank you! If I'm planning to decopauge cutouts of letters and pictures from magazines, would the napkin decopauge glue still be appropriate? Or would you suggest something else? Thank you again!
you could use regular decoupage glue (matte seems to work best as opposed to satin or high gloss) and with magazine cut outs you can dampen them lightly to break down the paper fibers to help make them lay flatter. :)
Lovely project and video. Although the "bubble" captions made it difficult to see clearly. Had to stop the video several times just to be certain I got the process.
Hi Judy...thank you...are you on Facebook? If you private message me, I'll get back to you and see if I can help you. There's also a page on Facebook called Decoupage Madness where there are always a bunch of people on the page to help you. (I'm one person and they are very many people-some novices and some who have been doing decoupage for years) and they're also very helpful. Chances are --if you're having a problem with something someone else is too or they have also had that problem. They're a huge help on that page too! I know what you mean about frustrating, I hate it when I'm doing something that starts out as fun then I can't quite get something to look the way I want. Very frustrating. I hope you contact me or the group, we should be able to help! Patti
Nice one But what i loved most about your videos was you talking while doing the project. The music has taken away that charm. If possible get back to the talking videos.. Btw hv u tried mod podge sparkle .. will that work good or mod podge glitter??
Hi and thank you.... LOL, I live on a country road and we had about 10 trucks outside digging up the road complete with police cars directing the little traffic that we get. It was so noisy here for a few days we couldn't hear ourselves think, so I wasn't able to talk. As you can probably tell I prefer to talk also. :) Once in a while I have to use the captions like this so I'll be back to chatting in the next video. : Thank you... I have not tried the Mod Podge sparkle. I tend to like a lot of glitter in some places and not so much in others so it would be hard for me to control it with it premixed. Thanks Nuttygarmia! Patti
You changed my life. Now I am selling my work. Thank you for being you.
Love this technique, especially the choice of paper & the glitter!
Wonderful introduction to this tutorial!
Thank you!

It's a beautiful decoupage tin.. Turned out great ! Thanks so much for sharing your video 👌🤗💖👍
I love your video, and the instructions are so easy to follow!🥰
I’ve learned more in this one video than twenty others combined! Thank you!!!
I'm so glad u showed this because I have a couple of these tins and now I know what I can do with them....Very Pretty... Thanks again for sharing, you're the BEST❤️❤️
Wonderful as always. I started decoupage after seeing your video. It looked so nice and inviting.

my pleasure and thank you!
This exactly what I was looking for! Lovely box!
I absolutely love your video presentation!
I recently got some tins from a friend, the wax paper is exactly what I need to use. I was afraid to do anything to them because the tops rip everything. You rock Gf! Love ya to bits! Brilliant idea!
Thanks GF!!! I had to figure that one out too since those tins shut hard right? Have fun!
love you,
me
Absolutely love this!
Thank for the video. Your videos is always so inspiring and comforting . I have a few of these cans and didn't want to throw them out and was trying to figure out a cool way to make them look nice for reuse. 😄
Hello and thank you! I love hearing that you are going to reuse those tins and make them into something that you love! Have fun..
Patti
Love your presentation
This is the first time I have seeing decoupaging without applying the glue first. I almost always get a little bubble or wrinkle here and there. Will definitely try this method today. Thanks!

A little wax candle rubbed along the edge will work also. I used it for hard to open and close drawers.
Thank you for this instructional video . Super excited to get going on one of these.
Love this project. A WOW!
I love the intro!!!
Its so beautifull!! Thank you so much
Lovely, it looks like it was made that way
WOW! What an opening!!

Love it! Thanks for sharing.

THank you for letting me know that! LOL, it makes sense. (and thank you for the compliment!)

Hello. Regarding the UNCLE! Altoids are 'curiously strong mints' so you might want to cry UNCLE! to make it stop.
I love this tin. Very nice! Thank you for sharing.
Fun and very helpful!
Excellent!!
Absolutely love this, I have a couple of tins I got with gift tags, I'm doing this for sure...tyfs....
Thank you Martine, I love to hear that. Have fun with it!
Patti

Patti

Thank you Devra!
Patti
Lovable and special.
Wax paper technique is unique..thanks for this video
nice production in more ways than one!
Thank you Kandl Megahan!
Patti
Hi, I love this. 1 question- can I rub a wax candle on the edges if I don't have a wax paper?
This is awesome! I want to try it! Question, do I HAVE to paint with chalk paint or is that optional? I ask because one of my tins is just white and I would love that as background color. Thank you so much in advance
Lovely 💕
BEAUTIFUL
Thank you!
will you get the same result if you use modge podge instead of the glue?
what is best chalk paint to use?
UNCLE! is THE word ya holler when you want your big brother to release you from a wrestling hold. It's kind of like saying, 'mercy! Let me loose!!"
Love it!
THank you Michelle!
Super cute. Did you sandpaper before priming?
can you use cardstock for decoupage?
Hello, what is the best decoupage medium to use for rice paper? Would it be the same one used for napkin decoupage projects or do I need to buy something else? Thanks!!
Ha ha....the introduction part is awesome Patti
Thank you Amrita!
Patti
Hi is their a way to stop getting the bubbles when decoupaging? even on card I somehow manage to get massive bubbles
what brand of chalk paint are you using?
LOL :)
Patti
Very pretty. I'm wondering if the raised words on the top show through the paper napkin when finished.
Thank you! My napkin pattern is busy so you can't see it, there is a little bit of raised lettering on the tin but you can't read it, and it doesn't show nearly as much as I thought it would. :)

great Technic for family memories thank you Gigi's Altered Objects -
I snipped my business cards and that how I carry mine🦋
Lovely. And, UNCLE, refers to "crying Uncle" when someone or some strong mints, has conquered you!
Thank you and thank you! LOL, I was wondering if that's what Uncle meant. I thought the Man From Uncle may have been a fan. :)
Patti
Uncle is what you yell when you give in to a bully!
Great tip with the wax paper!
That opening was pretty epic
Lovely project and video. Although the "bubble" captions made it difficult to see clearly. Had to stop the video several times just to be certain I got the process.
I love your videos, but not having any luck working with paper. Very frustrated about this.
