Oh yes, this for sure inspired me! Love how cute the altoid tin came out and that little jar is so elegant! Beautiful! Thank you so much for all the inspiration!
You are so creative, Tracy! I have recently discovered your tutorials, and really like all the ones I've seen! Your videos are not only inspiring, but also relaxing. You have a wonderful way of communicating clearly. I'm so glad I found your terrific crafting videos. Wishing you the best!
I was not sure you could mod podge metal, but now I am sure!! such a cute little gift and I think your daughter will love it and you for thinking of her and making this for her. You are such a giving and sweet mom.
You have to prime it. You have to sand it and then use multi purpose adhesive and let dry till warm to touch not cool. Then you can apply your stuff. Finish with varnish
Thank you! This was my first time doing this project. My daughter still has it and it's in good condition. I have seen several techniques used such as sanding, but I haven't tried it yet. Just do what works for you. I looked at several videos before giving it a try. Let me know how it turns out. Hugs, Tracey
Thank you for this video Tracey. I am going to take this idea and make a prayer box for my daughter. I have a larger sized metal container I got for Christmas. I'm going to add a pen and notepad. Thanks as always.
+Kathrine Ussery Thanks, Kathrine! Your granddaughter is going to have so much fun with this! Such a wonderful way to spend time together! Hugs, Tracey
When I saw the first pic I thought you had used ribbon around the container, so that's what I'm going to try. My great granddaughters are going to love these for their little trinkets.
I did one before I saw this video, using napkins instead of scrapbook paper and I have to say, waterbased POLYCRYLIC topcoat makes a world of difference in the quality of the end product. I ever so slightly sand after each coat, just to take the fine little rough nubs off the surface. I use about 200-320 grit sandpaper. Takes only about 3 coats. I like to put 2 coats of polycrylic on the surface and let them dry completely to adhere the napkin to the surface (with a hot iron) as well. If you he surface is flat enough to iron. It looks like I purchased the tin at a store that way. Looks so much more professional than any time I have used modge podge for the topcoat. But, I still use modge podge when I want that home made type feel to my crafts.
First time watching your videos. I was looking forward for a way to use altoid boxes for scripture boxes. When I saw the way you "measure" I knew your videos were for me. Lol. I am going to try this as soon as I get som tins. Yours tUrned out perfectly. Hope mine looks as good.
Thank you so much for sharing this idea… I have been collecting Altoid Tins for a while, Wanting to do some sort of project and this is perfect! I have never use mod podge but I love the way it makes it look. And by far The best price for people who are on a budget like me… And they are beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing I can’t wait to start
Hello. I just found your video and it was wonderful watching you make your project. It was extremely helpful to me. Thank you so much, for the time you take to make these videos and your awesome creativity. This is going to be helpful in future projects, I can't wait.
I'm making my first altered altoid tin and I love your ideas. I put black mod podge on mine first so the metal will grab the paint. Then I used a sealer so the mod podge wouldn't chip. Don't know if that will work yet. I'm waiting for it to dry now. You are very creative. P.S. with all due respect, it is mod podge, not modge podge
Love these ideas. New subscriber. These would be great, especially the old shaving cream containers for homemade body butters and creams too. The tins could hold homemade lip balms or like lotion bars for the hands. Once the diy products are used it becomes a beautiful trinket box. Love it!
I read in comments you have to sand tin before you mod podge I didn't see you do that I wanted to make one this week could you let me know before I start please🤗
I also heard it will rust. I called modge podge but they said you can't paint on metal it will help it to rust. I don't know. I found it peeled right off the metal so I sanded it but noticed it was starting to rust overnight with modge podge! So I am going to sand it off and go get some rust protective you put under paint. Lots of people are painting altoid boxes. I bought the same kind of plain box. Says this modge podge for dishwashers is a sealer so that is what you are suppose to put on before you paint after you sand. The lady was not helpful and said it is a glue, over and over. But the bottle says a sealer too. I see you are just gluing on paper though. But for painting this is what I am finding out

I used the shape of the altoid tin to make gift tags. I had fun.❤🦋
You make it look easy. I notice this video is five years ago . We never heard of Covid and Barack Obama was still president. Wow.
Awesome! Great idea! TFS!! Hugs!

I never buy Altoids but you make want to run out and buy a tin just so that I can do this project. Lol
Duchess Antoinette Just go any craft store and buy the tins.
Really good idea !
Thanks for watching, Rita! :) Have an awesome day! Hugs, Tracey
I tend to use washi tape on the sides instead of strips of paper MOD podge over with the rest to seal it.
Thank you Tracy.
cool idea!! 💡
Cute!
I love this!!
Thanks, Sarah! :)
Hi @ mindless crafting, if I am using thin fabric, do I need to put mod podge on top as well? I've never used modpodge
I've never used fabric before.
wonderful
Nice
Quick question: how did you do the brownish-orange dotted line around the lid? Is it a marker?
Yes…it’s a marker.
Very nice and pretty, too! :)
Thanks, Dawn! I hope you are having a lovely day! Hugs, Tracey
Dawn B

+Sue Budzinski Thank you, Sue❤
What type of modge podge did you use?
What did you apply to give it " a distressed look" ?
I used Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Vintage Photo. :)
GiftBasketAppeal Thank you!
I read in comments you have to sand tin before you mod podge I didn't see you do that I wanted to make one this week could you let me know before I start please🤗
Candy Selph I did not sand this and it turned out fine, but you could do it to yours if you like. Let me know.
Fun idea!! :-)
Very nice now let’s see what happens when you use Mod podge instead of MODGE podge🤣🤣🤣
a dor able!
You need to sand or it is gonna just peel off.
I may have to try that! Thanks for the tip. I haven't had any problems so far thank goodness! :)

:)
It's MOD Podge.
P.S. your tin looks great. I'm going to try this. You are so patient working with the li/me strips of paper. Tfs
Ok...lol
Cute!
