- Welcome to Cool and Goods 2.0, the remake of the original series. The first episode was way too stale, no music, thumbnail was dull, voiceover was monotone, the list goes on. I overhauled the series and gave it a new look, hopefully this makes the video more enjoyable to watch, now in 1440p and with subtitles. As usual, we take a look at some cool features War Thunder has that not many people know about. From minor things like flags all the way to changing the way you play, this video will give you some knowledge about the lesser known features about the game.

-The icon on the FJ-4B isn't actually unique, but it's still pretty neat
-The Vietnamese T-34 anti-air is technically also a premium SPAA, but it was an event vehicle and not purchasable with GE
-The Soviet test flight map also has a train
-The Czechoslovakian, Cuban, New Zealander, Imperial Russian naval and British naval flags are also in the game
-Some planes like the F104 can actually drop bombs while going faster than Mach 1
-Your aiming reticle turns orange on vehicles that you can tow, not only on dead tanks
-Seversk-13 also has speakers
-The mines in Normandy are anti-tank, not anti-personnel
-The American carrier isn't the only destructible one
Also small oopsie, at 3:44 I say "speaking of wheels" when I wasn't actually speaking of wheels in the previous clip. I had to scrap a different clip that was supposed to go before it, which was actually about wheels.

On the French test map for planes, you can fly all the way across the channel, to Britain.
On British test map, you could, but you get the "return to battlefield" message

On the map American Desert the locomotive is actually a very accurately modeled EMD F series (most likely F7), the paint scheme is fictional tho
Yeah, the horn is also quite good, sounds american enough, though maybe a bit modern.
The german (steam) whistle is off though, that one sounds british, somehow reminiscent of a Gresley A4.
Most steam whistles of german steam lovos from the Reichsbahn time on (1920s) have lower pitch single tone whistles.

As a train enthusiast, one of the things that really made me appreciate the devs is how accurate all the trains are, they're always period/locale appropriate and are prototypical to their real-life counterparts, even down to some of the interior modeling that you can notice when you wreck them.
There's one more flag, New Zealand has a ship in the British tech tree. HMNZS Leander. I didn't expect anyone to notice though because we are always left out

Wrong thermal colour. You set the keybind to the "Make my graphics card so hot it turns red and melts" thermal colour setting.

The bridges can also be destroyed by shooting them so perhaps someone just shot it while the tank was crossing? I've definitely done that plenty of times before when I've noticed an enemy tank crossing the bridge.
@@Mika-ph6ku I was on the other side of the bridge at that time. We had people on point looking down river. It’s possible a shot could’ve come from there but it’s unlikely

5:05 It also does that with friendly vehicles that has towing enabled. So I conclude it's when you can tow, not only dead vehicles
But with dead vehicles it's extremely useful. Many times I look at the tank and think it's dead. Then I drive around it and it shoots me in the back.

4:56 doesn't the orange reticle appear because you have the option to tow it? If you put your reticle over a teammate to tow the lad, your reticle will also turn orange afaik.

I already knew about most of the test flight ones since I spend a lot of time in there but man I was really impressed by the Veitcong Propaganda that's some great detailing by Gaijin.

Reloading ATGMs longer makes sense, because the crew has to set up the guidance system. Be it plugging in wires, setting the beam to ride, activating the lazer seeker, etc..

I just spent the last 3 hours exploring all ships and tanks in the game and some planes... thanks for the ALT+F2 tip. awesome.
By the Way: The British Carrier on the Naval Planes Test fligth is also destructible, and if you are in a Plane that spawned from that Carrier, you will be sent back to the main menu after crashing.

The mines on Normandy are Tellermine 42 AT mines. They should blow tracks off and cause internal damage by spalling if modelled correctly. But nobody would even consider going on the beaches if that was the case.

i have found 2 slight innacuracies.
4:05 - there is a premium Phòng không T-34 russian SPAA. it was added around 2017 as an event vehicle. wiki.warthunder.com/Ph%C3%B2ng_kh%C3%B4ng_T-34_(USSR)
5:05 - the aiming reticle becomes orange to show when you can winch a vehicle. it also becomes orange when ur looking at a friendly alive vehicle, and has the winch enabled.

I was about to comment the inaccuracy about the orange reticle for whiching vehicles. but someone else already done it. :)

I really wish we would get a wider variety of maps for ground vehicle test drive. Like different nations get different maps.
One thing I also wish we could get for test drive in general is to be able to change what enemy vehicles you want to test against.

Fun fact:
The p51-c shows you the IAS speeds for landing gear and angle of flaps in the cockpit
don't remember if this was mentioned in the first vid but tip for push dead tanks attach the tow hook even if you plan on pushing it in order to make pulling easier when you attach the tow hook the weight of the tank is lowered but this still works if you push
The AD-2 and AD-4 Skyraiders can float on water
The unique guidance system icon is present in many aircraft. It used to signify that the missiles were SACLOS. This year, all SACLOS missiles on planes have been nerfed to MCLOS but the icons remained.
If you bomb the track in front of a train, the train will stop right where it is at that time.
If you get in the train's way, it will run you over but if you get in the way of the moving tank in the tank test drive, it will stop and won't hit you.
Bridges are considered enemies. If you destroy one, you get the "enemy destroyed" notification. They also show up on radar scopes.
If you destroy the propeller of the first Il-2 in the soviet test flight, all the other planes will eventually colide with each other.
You can kill a vehicle by driving your plane into it, provided that your speed is high enough.
There are soldiers walking around in the Japanese test flight. You can kill them.
1.The carriers in normandy can be used, but are reserved for team that starts on the beach area, basically what happened in d day. Also if you drop bombs on the carriers they will start anti air fire against you. Also the ships in normandy are destructible. I would like to see 2 carriers reserved for each team and 1 should be a capture zone.
2. The Ash River map has a lighthouse with a British flag, regarding the fact that it is situated in North Ireland.
3. A bell on the church of American desert rings when you shoot a 183 mm hesh at it.
You can press "Y" on any vehicle and it will display utillity settings for the vehicle like toggle flaps, toggle stablizer and so on
The aiming circle changing color is actually very useful for me as I always get confused by the paint of japanese tanks and think they are dead even though they aren't...
You literally just taught me about the tank battery. I didn't know what that was before.
There are infantry hidden within actual mission maps. But are not easy to notice. Whom will attempt to go into prove position when you flyby or attempt to shoot you

On American desert if you hit the church bell it rings. On Seversk 13 you can hear the radio in police cars.
4:44 If you turn the lights off while sitting in a cockpit (1st person view), the lights will turn off in the 3rd person view as well.
You can zoom in and out the minimap in ground battles by holding alt, hovering over it and scrolling with mouse wheel

On Seversk-13 at b, on domination mode, you can hear people talking from the building
Also this particular building and the whole area around B seems to be designed as some sort of communist party complex with red flags and Lenin. And alongside the main road, there are historically accurate police cars.
On the top tier German test flight (jets) map, the city of Potsdam has two landmark buildings, one being Sanssouci Palace, the other being Belvedere on the Pfingstberg.
Something for the next cool and goods: When loading into the British test flight map in a naval vehicle (Like the Sea Vixen or Harrier) you can see a random MiG crashing into the water quite far out

5:10 is actually a towing color, it wont change until you get in range of cable-inating

about the battery drain.
it also happen if you use either nvd, thermals or radar.
I do not know but it should also drain it when you use the IR spotlight.
and for that I have no idea, but it may also drain have the autoloader reloading.
(never tested by myself)
It also could drain it if you turn the wheels of a tank with wheels, and maybe even slow down the turning if the battery is empty.

The little icons in the vehicle selection bar show a spare wheel on top of both Ratels, even though there is none
9:22 It won't do damage but will chip off paint :)
You can use the Test Drive setup screen to select the default order and number of shells you bring into battle. That way you don't need to rush to set it up before you spawn.
Be aware that any new shells you unlock may be automatically loaded to full by default.

You can go on the bridge on the highway on cargoport that's blocked by trucks but the L3/33cc can fit underneath one of the trailers.

4:38 If you go into cockpit view and turn off the light, it will be off in the third person view too. For some reason you just can't operate the light in third person view.

4:03, actually, the 2S38 and QN506 are light tanks, but actually, the 2S38 is a 57 mm anti-air "artillery" and the QN506 has Sams so i'd say there are 3
Did you know that the "Fokker" company is actually a Dutch company, after WWI it moved to the Netherlands as it's creator, "Anthony Fokker" was a dutchman. The germans regained the company while WWII and after the german invasion into the Netherlands. After WWII however, the company went to the Netherlands again.
3:20 if you destroy the bridge while the train is on it, the destroyed cars float in the air. At least, they used to but that may have been changed by now.

Fun fact: In the Karelia map, there's actually a small spot where a LV/33 can easily fit, the spot has the shape of a door, it's made of concrete and it's ubicated at the hill in the middle of the map!

One just about every air test drive map, all friendly vehicles are destructible. But somehow only shooting friendly planes gets you a warning.

R3 T106 FA also has US crew models. Italian P40 it is the only tank in the game in which you can change the sight grid without downloading any of the WT live.

Not really Warthunder related but still very funny, if you play in VR SteamVR gives you an Overide World Scale Option which can turn all vehicles into 1/10 scale RC Models.

at training with the german premium Mi-24 (idk for the others) in night and at mist/fog wether with NVD you can see that the T-90 lights are on and without NVD they are not
When dirtying russian tanks with smoke barrels mounted on the back (like the IS4-M) the vehicle will get dirty, but the smoke barrels on the back will stay pristine.

It is infuriating that the battery is also drained faster when moving some of the hand cranked turrets and guns and that they too become slower when it is drained.

ZUT-37 is not the only premium SPAA vehicle in game, there is another one. Phong Kong T-34-37 also a premium but it is an event vehicle
I don't know if this has been mentioned before:
On "Advance to the Rhine" there is a board with newspapers on the main road near the southern spawn. They include Nazi propaganda like the "Stürmer", but also modern german newspapers such as the "Zeit"
