Maximum range against a Pensacola that was moving slightly away at a 20 degree angle. 3 citadels, instant kill right at the start of the game and boy did it feel good. I was driving my Konig up through the strait on Two Brothers (the old, more narrow version). Towards the end of the channel, I ran across a Japanese destroyer player hiding in one of the corners there and who obviously had no idea that his torpedoes had a minimum range. I knew he was going to try to torpedo me as soon as I cleared the rock so I tried to get as close as possible to him. He actually sent all his torpedoes and all 8 (I think it was) failed to detonate and he had no idea why.
Then my guns had swung around and I was able to give him full HE broadside off my starboard-rear quarter, effectively deleting him from the game.
He was obviously dumbfounded that all his torpedoes could have failed. Apparently he had either never been in that close before or free-XPed his way to T6 after exclusively playing BBs.

the issue I have found, being just a occasional player, WoW's training is on places like UA-cam, buried in promo, event announcements, company announcements, game play highlights, and alike.
There is no built in training areas with practice scenarios to help new players build any sort of proficiency.
Being the son of a 42 yr veteran that was a Lt.JG, Lt., Lt. Commander, and then Capt. on 4 different Carriers, I like to play them.
Also understanding Carrier flight tactics, I find WoW lacking in it's abilities.
Such as, removing the fighter squadrons was a mistake, if you wished to have any resemblance of reality. Taking away the ability of multiple squadron attacks and alike.
The way it was set up originally was more what CIC situation room operations would look like.

Funny part is that the South Dakota, North Carolina, Iowa, and Montana-class ships all had essentially the same hull design layout. The only difference was that, with each new ship class, the hulls were elongated gradually until the Montana-class battleship design, which was projected to be between 271-280 meters long. Also, the North Carolina-class actually preceded the South Dakota, with four ships of the South Dakota-class having been built between 1939 and 1942, and being decommissioned by 1947.

@@gothamgoon4237 It was a mistake to add manual drops that were virtually impossible to mitigate with skill in the old system but they decided to double down on it. Hey jingle, it’s just ur typical lad from Canada. Me and my English teacher both watch your video’s first thing we do in the AM, and talk about it during class. I’m gonna graduate high school this year and continue my career as a plumber for college. This is also his last year of teaching before he retires.
You brought me and my teacher so many laughs and so on. Personally I feel kinda weird asking. If you could say.
“Hey Donald, Justin wishes you happy retirement.” Next week on mingles with jingles it would mean the world to me. Cause I won’t see him again cause my last exam is in his class today.
Thank you for the time. Take care, btw keep up the good work;)❤️

USS New Mexico didn't return to the Pacific until after Pearl Harbor. She wasn't there during the attack. She had been in Pearl Harbor, although she left there in May 1940. She was with the Atlantic Fleet during the Pearl Harbor attack. Confusing her with the USS Nevada or California, perhaps? Arizona, California, Maryland, Nevada, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and West Virginia were the BBs at Pearl Harbor during the attack.

Jingles, to be absolutely fair, you had a 3 in 25 chance to name a correct perspective South Dakota Class name that was reused. In fact, that number is a lot smaller. For those not in the know and haven't researched it or caught on yet, USN BB's are named after one of the 50 states of the country. So 6/50 reduces to 3/25, but you could consider that at the time of commission and construction, other states were already battleshipped. So the 6 out of 50 lowers to 6 out of

Thanks solely to you and these videos I have now been playing this for the last few weeks. I eventually worked my way up the German cruiser line to tier V. And then started partaking in the various Soviet themed missions/tasks/whatever they are called. And I have now ended up "earning" two Soviet battleships. The tier V and VI ones. "Cool!" was my immediate response. Some battleship fun. Umm. No. Yeah. Really not. I kinda just got used to being one of the first to die in my cruisers as the rest of the people on my team in the random battles just sailed around in circles. In an effort to not be one of those battleships that camps on the border as far away from the action for as long as possible I have tried leading from the front. No. Not so much. I come steaming in and any and all of my "teammates" promptly pull back. So when I try to hang back and wait for some of the enemy destroyer screen to be knocked back before heading in I still arrive too early and get killed before any of the other battleships on my team have even fired a shot in anger.
What the hell am I doing wrong? What am I missing? Do I just need to forget Soviet battleships and German cruisers and pay Wargaming half my yearly salary and immediately get a tier X American battleship?
I want to like this game I really do. I am not in the frame of mind to pay for anything right now but I had hoped to be enjoying it enough by now to at least buy a couple of months of the premium account. But it's so sodding frustrating!
Also. Wargaming. Seriously. Stop expecting one person to be able to steer and shoot at the same time! That was old fashioned way of doing things 120 years ago! Please, please, sort out the autopilot/driving AI so that the ship can be piloted properly while we, the human, takes care of the gunnery! Or is that just going against the whole spirit of the game and making too much of a simulation?

I'm kinda frazzled that not once did Jingles ever mention that, not only did the USS Pennsylvania survive Pearl Harbor, but it was one of the few ships to actually attempt a defense! It was also repaired and refitted with more guns, including main caliber, secondary caliber, defensive armament (both air and surface) as well as a better engine. The armor was slightly altered and the turrets were moved around. The USS Pennsylvania was use mostly as a propaganda Ship as it was pretty scary with the amount of lead it can throw around. The air defense was so massively improved it would even put some later BBs to shame and even some Heavy/Battle Cruisers (Most Cruisers unless specifically designed for AA purposes didn't have an extreme amount of AA guns, but there were still quite a bit). The USS Arizona was definitely a sad sight after Pearl Harbor, but the USS Pennsylvania actually took the mantle farther for Pennsylvania Class BBs.
The New Mexico and the USS Pennsylvania had subtle differences in their main caliber, the New Mexico had 12 14" (356mm)/50 Caliber Guns (4x3) and the Pennsylvania had 12 14" (360mm)/45 Caliber Guns, the Pennsylvania was later retrofitted with 12 × 5"/51 Caliber Guns, 8 × 5"/25 Caliber Anti-Aircraft Guns and 8 × .50-cal M2 Browning machine guns, in 1931, however the USS Pennsylvania was also again retrofitted with 16 × 5"/38 Caliber Guns, 40 × 40 mm (1.6 in) Bofors guns and 51 × 20 mm (0.79 in) Oerlikon guns, in 1942. As far as I know the Pennsylvania's 5" guns always stayed 130mm guns, whereas the New Mexico's 5" guns were 127mm.
The Pennsylvania Class BB also came with 21" (533mm) submerged torpedo tubes. As far as I know this wasn't removed during the armament retrofits as well as the armor redux.

Might I add from personal experience (started playing on 20th April), that in game there are still only old tutorial videos on how to play a CV. I am not a good player and thanks to this I abandoned playing CV's altogether. Strike aircraft are easy of course. Torpedoes you can learn (and I have taught myself how to use them), that you need to wait for the reticle being mostly parallel - unless you actually want a V-shape, because AA guns are too dangerous and you have no idea where the target is going to be - although in my case it was me being stupid and trying to hit a destroyer or a swift cruiser - at least you learn that way. I have no idea how to set up a training though, so I have to do it in co-op, which means that enemy team is slaughtered in 5 minutes usually - so it is hard to train.
Also I seriously have no idea how to bomb (aiming is difficult). After this post, I will try to find some tutorials on UA-cam, but most that I've already found are from before CV's play style were remodeled. Please laugh all you want, but unless I will get better at this, I will stay in standard surface ships.
