#insta360 #captaindrone - Наука та технологія
I always use insta 360 for family events, not much to worry while I can kept my head down eating, everything was done in post production , brilliant!
Finally some R/C content! Glad you're loving X4 as much as we do 🔥
Just know this Vid sold me the x4.... He has done his work well..... Acknowledgement and under the counter payment is strong with this one lol
If 360 cam's get too big and heavy, might as well use a regular GoPro.
been looking at too many videos to try and decide if I should get x4, you finally answered everything.
thanks

I hope you enjoy it!
That is one seriously cool camera - great review as always, Cap'n!
Excellent review. (as a 2 year user) Agree with points. Most important is to take the footage! This does mean, that on your motorbike, bicycle, skateboard, swimming pool, your camera is at risk of damage, scratching, drowning. But you have to be courageous enough to use the camera hard. I am on my 2nd and 3rd X2. I drowned one. It came back to life eventually. I scratched three to the point they can not be used. Google the scary replacement lens DIY videos. I managed that repair. My recommendation is to have 2-3 360's two older ones that you take risky shots, and the newest one for "underwater" and high definition shots. So the new camera should be X4 or X3.
Holy crap, this is like having two professional video cameramen, and a post-production pro with $100K in equipment. A real weapon in the hands of someone creative. Can't wait to try this slope soaring off the bluffs on Lake Huron with my 16' sailplane.
Lol... $100k in equipment?
Is there any place to download video samples?
@@wayneberry3453 Actually that would be on the cheap end......
Low resolution video on a stick is not 100K in equipment.
This is a really great review, very thorough with great footage and clear simple explanations, thank you.
I am not an RC'r so seeing all of your uses and the tracking was really cool. It would be nice to see a little b footage of how you mounted it to the RC car (great footage of it on the drone), that footage was awesome and makes me want to do it when I get my X4 🙂
I have an older X2 and was hesitating on the X3 but will NOT hesitate on the X4, I have scratched multiple lenses so the removable lens guards are a game changer as well as the dive case. 8k and better audio is also awesome. Thanks again for a great review!
I liked it more than before .. i believe it as combined both go pro and dji osmo in one camera .. stunning
Fun video ! 😃
Great review and demo .
Thanks Cap !!
This review stands out from all the other ones. Thanks for the unique content.
I appreciate that!
Excellent review video on the Insta360 X4. Amazing! Thank you Captain Steve.
Great review Steve. That is 1 hell of a camera.
This camera is awesome. Thanks for the great review.
Great video thank you, we travel in and around national parks where drone flying is not permitted but with this camera we get a close enough effect making our content more interesting.
Great video and demo cap. You're the best!
Amazing technology. Thanks for that Captain.
Awesome video explanation of the insta360 x4!!
The BEST review! Subscribed!
Wow, thanks!
Wow, that's an incredible camra! I have the X2 and I always thought it was incredible but this thing blows it away. The audio is amazing as well! I have the invisible selfie sticks including the one that powers the camera for longer run time. Great video of the incredible features. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for check it out!
You covered about everything, great job!
Thanks!
Hi really cool videos u make. Plz guide is dji rc controller is any better than n1 remote when range is concerned. Plz guide should I buy dji mini 3 with dji rc controller or not?
Another great video, Steve! Thank you. I'm still gradually and ssssslllllooooowwwwwlllllyyyyy figuring out my X3.
X4 is the best
Whoa! Nice camera!
New subscriber here!
You explained everything very well and very understandable!
Thanks for sharing!
Welcome to the channel!
Many thanks for sharing Captain!!; my take away; the RC Car footage was amazing !!; just another leap in Camera technology !; would be great also to see your take on still Cameras (if you use them)
Cool product! Thanks for all you do sir, I have recently made the leap to FPV via the Cetus X and no regrets ❤
Good choice!
i hope they make a horizontal mount for the X4 also.
Can you link that to any goggle and fly with it or did you have to get those out of the memory card and added on after?Sorry I’m still kinda new to this FPV world
What a great review which is detailed but never boring. I won’t upgrade but its reignited my love of the X3.
X4 is the best
Cool review, really helpful! Is the extension featured at 4mins included with the camera?
Nope… it is an Accessory
great video Steve.
Another great review, as usual, Steve. Might be time to trade up-particularly as it does so well on a drone.
Where was this for the eclipse?! I had my Mavic 3 Pro in my hometown of Poplar Bluff, MO. I got great shots but this would’ve been on another level!
Great review Steve and nice job on the footage you did.
Do you know if the tracking feature you used on the geese, etc in post production also works with the X3? I’m hoping it’s a feature I can still use with my X3. Thanks much.
Yes, it is in the software (insta360 studio) called DEEP TRACK
X4 is the best
Nice review! Do you have any recommendations for video editing software for use on a laptop, or are all your videos composed on a phone? Thank you!
The video editing software I use is listed below every video.
Dang Steve thats pretty crazy! Love ur vids as usuaul
Very detailed video Steve. One more thing I need to consider spending money on although I should not. lol
Thanks, Steve for this informative video and wow, you outdid yourself in all the excellent video examples. I had the original Insta360 and used it on my fpv kwads. It seemed to suffer from overheating. It was a disappointment for what I wanted to use it for. The X4 is in a different league though and I may have to reverse my "never insta360 again" opinion. Although, you did mention heating as a con. It's a chunk of change, but I added it to my wish list.
Nice to see add 8k video for the first time. Nice review, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Great review, Steve. I really want one, but literally have no use for it 😀
SOLD! I have a Z1 Ricoh but this is certainly better. I bought the Go3 based on your review and I have LOVED it. Insta360 has been worth it for me so far.
wow the result of X4 on drone is so amazing! wonder if I can do the same on my DJI Air3 ?
I think this is the best review I’ve seen of this camera. My own camera arrived two days ago. Super excited to get some footage. Thank you 👏
Hope you enjoy it!
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I sure did
Nice shoots! , how you mounted the camera on the RC to get that kind of shoots?
The camera is attached to the invisible selfie stick shown in the video (you can’t see it because the camera makes it invisible).
Very cool camera .And your video editing is also very good .....
Wow Super gear, that will make anyone look like a top camera person .
Fantastic review 👌🏻
Great tips.🎉Thank You
Hi Steve, this is a great camera. You get all the shots you like at once. Nice invention, they have thought about this carefully. Steve Wish you lots of film fun with this camera and of course your hobby. I'm curious to see what you'll be filming with. Great Camera . 👍😃 📷🎬🍀🍀🍀🍀
👍v comprehensive review. Thank you.
Great review , 2 quick Questions I scuba dive a lot , so that being said , with the lens protectors on underwater will that effect the image underwater ? and shooting 8K underwater with the full waterproof case at deeper depths is it prone to serious overheating within the case ?
Question 1… the answer is no because you will select underwater and lens protector in the insta360 studio when making a final edit. Question 2… excellent question but unfortunately I don’t know the answer.
So what we really need is to have you standing over us as we sit at a desk and learn how to edit and stitch together film from one angle or two in the same moment of filming and create a "movie" like they do when the studios, directors and post production crews do for new movies. This is WHY I have not bought one of these 360 camera's! The Mind gets fried trying to figure it all out!
For me, technology and software is easy, which is why I am on UA-cam reviewing Tech items. Everything is easy once you know how and have some creative energy. I've shown how the editing works in many insta360 videos in the past. Once you know it for one insta360 camera, you can do it for any.
wow super cool camera
My wife and I watched this video. We both agree...you are a brilliant editor. You did so many different activities in this video. (In Keanu Reeves voice) "Wow..."
Thank you! You are both much too kind.
I plan to switch over to Insta360 for all of my small cameras. I have a go2 and have been looking at getting the Go3 and the 1 inch but this may be a better option.
Hi, I use a GP 8 and a swivel joint on my helmet for inline skating competitions. Do you recommend mounting the X4 directly on a cycle helmet (GoPro Vented Helmet Strap Mount)? Will the weight and high center of gravity be a problem? Thank you.
You’ll certainly get plenty of action shots with the X4. Keep in mind it requires good lighting to work correctly so indoor lighting moving quickly may not work. The X3 is smaller in size and may work better (weight wise) on your helmet.
The one thing all 360 cameras lack is GoPro/AcePro/Action4 level image quality IMHO but it's still quite usable (obviously). If this 8K camera makes the final product sharper, clearer, and crisper then it's a winner. What I don't like about the X4 is it's a different size than the X3 which means different batteries, cases, and protective frames for the X3 won't fit the X4. I just bought an X3 six months ago or so. I won't be upgrading anytime soon but I will be watching for image quality comparisons by the reviewer/influencers so that maybe in a year or more I might upgrade. I'm just an amateur and most of my content doesn't get published to the public. The screw on glass protective lens was a needed upgrade for sure. Puluz makes a decent "strap-on" set of glass lens protectors for the X3 but they don't work with any of the available frames unfortunately. As always, another great review. I do look forward to any image quality comparisons you might do in the future for these amazing and versatile cameras.
I don't see a reason to upgrade from the X2 actually.
Hi Steve - thanks for the review. Would an Air 2S carry this camera comfortably enough ? And, if so, how would you recommend attaching it to the top of the drone ? And, speed is not important to me at this stage.
I would not recommend it on an Air 2s.
Very nice video and very cool hoodie! 😊
Funny how 360 camera's are more and more 'just' used for 'choosing the angle in the edit', and less as, where it original was used for, viewing 'around' with an VR headset. This resolution probably will make that genre more interesting again, I hope.
I might consider this one.... I still have the 'first' Insta 360 camera, (with that lego like construction, which never took off) but the resolution is not that great sadly. At the time though, it was one of the only 'acceptable' 360 cams , next to the Garmin (which I still have, but never use again)... and was a leap forward from the 'beginning of 360' , meaning, having constructions of 4-6 GoPro's and very expensive 'stitching' software...
So in that sense, 'we' progressed, and all those 'old' techniques are very obsolete now...
26 - The cost of a repair lens is $99 since it WILL SCRATCH if you touch it on ANYTHING 27 - $99 was the cost of the repair for the X2 - so its probably much more expensive now! 28 - The turnaround time to get the lens repair is over 8+ weeks if they get back to you in a timely fashion (which they won't) 29 - The lens guards severely degrade the footage and effect the stitch - hence why no finluencer actually shows using them - so again back to no 26 - you will SCRATCH THE LENSES! I can keep going if you like - I have spent over $700 on ONE of these cameras and had to go through the repair process 3 TIMES - I finally GAVE UP ON USING THEM! Stop LYING to people and calling these things action cameras - they are just as fragile and there fore - not as versatile as they claim - as any other camera - even more so with these lenses!
You really need to eat a Snickers bar, you're just not yourself. www.snickers.com/
Why didn't you protect the lenses.
You have lens guards 🤷🏻♂️
some camera that Steve brilliant review and the prise well nearly fell of my seat.
Thanks to seeing you use Steve,I chose to check out reviews on the Insta360 go 3, Hope I made the right decision, so far since I got yesterday, I love it. Got mostly for cycling and walking around. Any tips on best standard video setting when cycling
Yes, very very versatile camera.
Best review so fare. 😃
just ordered the x4 ...looking forward to trying it out. thanks for the video. I did not know about some of the features. glad i got the x4 over the x3. worth the xtra
Hope you enjoy it!
Very coo! I LIKE I. Thank you for sharing.
So, do you have a recommendation for a good, consumer-friendly drone & mounts that will happily carry the X4 without needing to dive into the FPV world? Ideally it would be great to mount a powerbank to the pair as well to give much longer flight times..............
And btw I was able to overheat my X4 and get it to shut down after... 46mins of 8K recording. :)
You’d probably need something like the size of a DJI MAVIC 3 at minimum
Very informative video! I just purchased the X4 and am trying to find the best way to mount it to the bottom of our Mavic 2 Pro. I've never tried to put a 360 camera on it before so hoping someone could provide a recommendation or any links (What should I use and where can I buy it). Any help would be greatly appreciated.
As per my video, you want the camera OFF the drone. You can’t do this on the bottom unless you can figure out a way to take off and land.
How were you able to press and set the tracking on the birds while flying your FPV drone and another hand on your phone? because, I thought to set the tracking you'll have to do that through your phone isn't it? And, secondly, as it's tracking the bird for instance, do you still have to fly & chase the birds? because, we all know the birds didn't come to play with the drone are they? I mean, they'll get away in a few seconds. And lastly, how did u get the speedometer on the screen? is that in the app too or what?
Ha ha… you are thinking in a one dimensional way which is very old school. You missed the entire point as to how this product works (it’s not magic). Watch the video again and pay close attention to what I say.
Great review by Captain Drone 👍👍👍
Thanks! 👍
*do you need gps remote* to get speed overlay data?
OR…Does the camera have built in gps?
You need a gps unit, like your phone or Apple Watch or Garmin, etc.
Hi there Steve! A fly buddy of mine picked up the X4. I'm just curious where did you get that little tripod mount.? Is that from a GoPro?
No gopro parts were used in this video. Which mount are you referring to? All items are available at the insta360 store.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 the part that mounts to the drone looks similar to a go pro mount. Thanks again for a great review! 👍
@@pianomans1Di you mean the plastic piece? People know those as pieces coming with a GoPro since GoPros are very common & pretty much everyone has owned one (or many) but they are universal plastic connectors to all small cameras. The metal extension pieces are all insta360.
Thank you. What extension is that on the drone? And are the lens guards waterproof too? Thanks
Extensions are available on insta360 website. I have a large number of insta360 cameras and a large number of extensions. The lens guards are supposed to work under water, but I’m not sure people would put on a lens guard for under water purpose.
Great Video! Can you post a link to the drone extender arm you used?
All such links are below the video (it is just a typical Insta360 camera accessory... it has been around for years).
Looks great, but for your drone's sake, you would do better to hang the 360 BELOW the drone then over it. You are placing a lot of weight on one side and creating a higher center mass which is bad for the motors and the controller.
Having it hanging may be harder to land of course, so a quick release is a good solition. Just bring the drone to you, hover it, desengage the camera and land.
Cheers.
Awesome review, you're the best drone and camera reviewer.
Wow, thanks!
My wife and I ride Recumbent Trikes and I have a GoPro Max and have a setup with a Ram mount on the frame to hold the the Max attached to a Insta 360 selfie stick. It works great and gets some great shots and videos, but I find the post processing tricky, and it eats tones of storage. I bought a DJI Air 2S to film footage using the tracking function while riding the Trikes, but I've never used it while riding due to fear of hitting someone , or fly away. Think with the expanding regulations, that is likely to come, and difficult to use while riding, I'll sell my Air2S and pick up the Insta 360 X4.
A Question I have is, it a better camera, and user experience than the GoPro Max, and is it worth replacing the Max ?
Not many people use the GoPro max, but if it is doing what you need it to do, then keep using it. The X4 is a more advanced camera for certain with plenty of cool things you can do.
Looks good and price wise too, will the selfie stick and bullet time handle from my old X2 fit, really tempting upgrade this one.
It is just a standard tripod mount so if that is would the old version uses, then yes.
does this save 120fps video without it being slowed so you can use software to slow it down more, or does it only save the slow motion video
It depends on the shooting mode
Best Review of the 5+ I have watched. I do wish that you would have said if the drone stick could be shrunk down to the invisible selfie stick. I suspect the drone stick is sooo long it doesn't need to be invisible.
The higher the X4 is from the drone, the cooler it looks, but there is a trade off because it then acts like a pendulum for the drone and flight could get a bit sketchy.
There are so many new tech products that are coming out
thank you for your superb review sir^^
My pleasure!
Is there a Samsung smart watch version of that insta360 control.? The one you used looks useful, i searched and although a apple watch version which has same function the playstore one is only paid or seems limited.
Compatible devices are add often so check website for compatible devices
Watching from Mandaluyong City Philippines
Hello Moto Human from Mandaluyong City!
image stabilization is great
A year ago I shot on Insta 360 x3 in the mountains on a drone. (look at me) And the difference in quality is noticeable. But then there was a special camera for this Insta 360-sphere. Now there is no camera for the 8K throne yet. But you've come up with a great idea.
People have been mounting the X2 & X3 on drones for years dude. The X4 being 8K does make this significantly more worthwhile, of course.
@@nowandrew4442 Yes, dude, on my channel, I shot this video a year ago in Arkhyz when descending from the top of the mountain to the throne in 360
@@nowandrew4442 yeah the X4 is the best not X3
problem is same like on X3. Any time i stop video we can see those bloomy spots like something was stick to the lens. Other part is that 8k 360 is still not enought to record fotages in real 4k or even 2k ;)
What did you use to mount the camera on the car? I've got an xmaxx that I'd love to put it on for a bashing session.
I used the same thing that I used for every shot in the video.... the invisible selfie stick.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 sorry, I meant more along how you get it to stick on the car not the pole. I didn't see a sticky mount or anything
@@frobie192 Simple. As mentioned in the video you just have to use your imagination. Once you understand how any of the Insta360 360 degree cameras work by automatically removing the device they are attached to, you will thing figure out a way to attach it to anything and not have the pole seen.
Hi I would like to know if the Quick ready is compatible with the iPhone 15 pro Max 🙏🏻
What is Quick Ready???
Insta way better than go crap. .
Interesting! What kind of the Insta360 X4 extension is used? Thanks!
Watch the video again, and you’ll see the part where I show the two types of invisible selfie sticks that are available.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Yes. I have had the invisible selfie stick. But, I am more interested in mounting the X4 with a long stick you showed at the beginning on your perhaps 7" FPV. I have had the Insta360 Sphere for about a year,. But, it is only compatible with the DJI Air 2 or Air 2s and perhaps was discontinued. Thanks.
can you edit in DaVinci? By the way, excellent review!
I don’t believe they have a plugin to edit in davinci
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you.
14:27 maximum storage capacity?.
how did you mount the camera to your RC car? any pics or video of it?
Watch the vid again and this time look at the ground around the car and you'll see a shadow of how I mounted everything.
Solid video, thanks!
Best Insta360 X4 Review!
Thank you!
nice video! can a sub 250g cinelog 25 lift that insta 360x4?
Heck no! It would fly but you're gonna crash
Wow!!! Soo cool
Wow ,what technology is next, awesome video, what is the AI software you used? I I Captn
The AI software is part of the insta360 phone App
Can you upload video directly to a PC and edit without using a phone? My go 2 doesn't connect to any computer so I have to use my phone. It's a pain.
I edited all the video segments on a computer using insta360 studio
Any issues with the x4 connecting to samsung/android devices? I got mine today and I cant connect it to my s23 ultra and the x4 has a yellow light blinking
No issues. This is not new technology for connecting as insta360 has been around for many years and all their products connect to all types of cell phones. My guess is you're missing something, so go back to the simple method, turn on camera, ensure WIFI and BLUETOOTH and DETECT are all turned on in the camera (you do this in the settings). Start up the app on your phone and search for the camera. If the app can't discover it, well then you have a setting wrong on your phone, so then simply go into the WIFI of your phone, search for the WIFI signal coming from the camera and connect manually, then return to the app and connect again.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thanks for the feedback! The app version from android devices were outdated, I just updated the app and all is working now. Thanks!
I love your channel but I have to ask you a question. I was watching a video from Iphondo about how Insta360 was asking it creators NOT to mention their sponsorship for video content (which I believe is Illegal). My question is that something they ever asked you to do ???
If you look below iPhondo's video you will see my comment saying I was never asked such a thing. Apparently only AMERICANS (USA influencers) were asked that by the USA Insta360 office. Those of us in Canada and other parts of the world were never provided sponsorship demands or wording. I'm also told that the manager who told his employees to ask that has been reassigned.
