To those thinking about a DJI mini or if you’re just a DJI fanboy this particular drone offers something you can’t have with DJI. Airspace freedom. Fly wherever you please. I simply like to fly across the street with some open fields but I can’t use a DJI because of an airport nearby. So I use drones like this to fly at my leisure without the annoying messages saying I can’t start my engines.
Those geo fences are easy to clear though. I’m in an authorization zone myself, but outside the echo airspace. If this drone has remote ID the airport can see you if you’re in the airspace. I’ve know people that have had their drones dropped flying too close to airports.
If you do not fancy the HS900 or DJI SE or DJI 4k...................I have just picked up the Cfly faith Mini 2, 1 x 64gb sd card, 1 x battery and a carry case for under 200 USD, its an Incredible drone and a very low price, flies brilliant, takes 4k/30fps video. I used to always go to DJI and the Cfly is not 100% to match DJI, but at a 3rd of the price its 10 times better.
😂lol tractor man strikes again.🚜. Hi Steve 😀👋 my friend. A fantastic and amazing flight 💯👍. The Holystone HS900 a great drone for anyone. Long battery time and great range, some good features. Thank you so much and God bless you and your family always 🙏.
One of the things I noticed about this drone is that it looks a lot like a Walkera t210 mini. Im not sure which drone came out first but this drone has the exact same camera and body shape. The two apps side by side also look to be essentially the same thing. The only difference that I notice is that this one has a different controlller. The Walkera is also a much better deal as it is almost half the price. One thing to consider is that the Walkera is not remote id compliant but if you live in the U.S you don't need Remote id for drones under 250 grams.
Hi Captain Drone, Parallel actually just means that the drone is locked facing a certain direction, and will track you always facing that direction. It doesn’t mean that it will track parallel to you. This is also true for DJI drones.
I bought a Holystone 720e years ago and I still have it in tact. It was a good starter gps drone. I had a lot of fun with it. I haven’t flown it in several years, but it had good RTH and the few times I crash it, it survived and probably would fly today if I tried it. This looks like a nice improvement over mine, but the price is prohibiting. Maybe the RID has ran the cost up. 😢 enjoyed the review and I vote for an interview with Lawnmower man. I bet he would be interesting 😂
Great video! Because of your vids, I bought a Potensic Atom and love it. Given the 20% off sale at the time it ended up only $329 for the kit including 3 batts, charging station, etc. It has a very similar feature set as this one, and similar range.. just over 1.6km. I live in a small farming town and it's LITTERED with DJI warning zones! For farms. I couldn't believe it. So I'll NEVER buy a DJI product. I mean - farms? lol. Be well and thank you Captain :)
HS900 or Dji mini 4k ? I’m trying to decide between the two. DJI seems like an obvious yes, but I have been in love with HolyStone drones and their customer service.
I can't speak for the hs900 but I'm a beginner and i have the mini4k and I'm really liking it. Mini 4k can shoot at 4k 30 but also at 1440p 60 fps while the hs900 seems to only have 4k 30 or 1080p 60. That combined with the price difference I'd maybe recommend the mini4k. I got the mini4k and the dji care refresh insurance for like 40 dollars which is good. But DJI customer service couldn't tell me where to find spare 4k batteries. The mini4k is only available on amazon and the amazon store suggests buying batteries for the mini 2 but no one can give me a definitive answer on if the mini 4k and mini 2 batteries are interchangeable.
We fished a Phantom 3 4k out of the recycling bin the other week, I just looked up the price of a Dji Mini Se 2 here in Canada, hardly even worth fixing now, holy stone does offer a pretty wide range of stuff.
One think you didn't mention and I think it's a negative is that in order to charge the battery, it has to be inserted into the drone. Which means if you have more than one battery that you can only charge one at a time.
I think (at least I hope) most viewers figured that out when they watched the unboxing & didn’t see an included charger. This is still a common feature in budget drones and at one time was how some DJI drones were.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 My last drone was a HS720G and the battery didn't need to be inserted in the drone to charge. There was no included charger there either, just a USB cable. I did download the manual before I bought the drone. So I knew what to expect. I still don't like it.
New to drones my first drone is hs440. I think im a hs guy lol. Thanks for the review. Still looking at drones to buy. Want to go to a drone for good pics and recording
Great review Cap! Holy Stone has come a long way but... It's no DJI. I agree the price is too high but, there is $100.00 off on the USA Amazon site so that makes it much more in line. I'd still purchase a DJI mini SE or Mini 2 before I'd purchase this one. It looked like at 1 mile you were getting the "weak signal" message. I can fly my DJI mini a couple miles with no problems and the features work. I do think it's a viable option for a youngster or new drone pilot but I would steer them toward DJI or even Potensic Atom over Holy Stone. It is great to see some of the smaller companies trying to compete and bring advanced features to the market. Thanks for the review! Cheers!

@2:00 I'm asking if the cable is hardwired to the controller, or if it's a standard cable that can be replaced with a longer one. Even if it isn't there are adapters that will allow for a longer cable to be added. Overall it looks like a good bird, but that it weighs exactly 249g makes it unable to take the required strobe for night fights in the U.S.. A recreational pilot would be unlikely to be inspected for that so long as they were being sane about flying, but it's still worth noting. I wonder if one could shave enough of the housing off to drop a gram or two in order to mount a suitable strobe. I do think that HS is pricing their drones a bit high in the U.S. on purpose. Pending bans on government agencies buying from DJI makes that market less competitive, and government agencies buy a lot of drones in the U.S.

After watching your video on the HS 720G I bought one. Then I find out it has a toilet bowling problem. Why don't you talk about this problem with the Holy Stone drones. I guess the 600 is the only one that doesn't do this.
Dan, if a drone toilet bowls in a review video then it becomes part of the review. Think about this… I’ve been flying drones of every type since 2013, which means the odds of me making a mistake & cause a drone to toilet bowl are slim to none. A drone while toilet bowl if the operator does a poor gps calibration, in a less than perfect location. Also if you crash a budget drone, the odds are it will then toilet bowl.
Is it still using wifi? my holystone 720g with wifi goes crazy when close to an antenna on top of a 4 floor building i wont ask anything outs because the price is ridiculous 469 after the discount and the dji mini 4k is 299😅does the dji mini 4k use the same wifi as the first mavic mini?
Haaaaaa ! Captain , you look so different with that Beard ! Looks kinda good though , not accustomed to seeing you not looking like a Model ! Hahahaaaa , take care , Cappy !!!!!😀
I usually charge my drones using a 2.4 amp wall plug, but i think this drone says to use 2 amps...does anyone know if using 2.4 amps with this drone will cause any issues?
But if it's 249g why bother putting in remote ID? ...🤔 even more restrictions on the horizon perhaps? Also, can you turn the remote ID feature on and off? I use a Holystone remote ID module on my diy quads over 250g. It's pretty small, pretty light, and has it's own battery for easy transfer between quads. I just hook it to the battert strap of whatever drone im using. Thanks for the review Steve. Happy flying amigo 🫡 🍻.
With a price tag of over $400 US, I can't see how this drone can compete. With high end budget drones like the new DJI Mini 4K or Fimi V3 I couldn't recommend a Holystone. Just my opinion. 🙃
I just bought the DJI mini 2 se fly-more pack. Cost was $650 au or $587514.40 South Korean Won... Yes I can buy a fully working road worthy car for less.
You’re pulling my leg right… Did you see obstacle avoidance in the Review??? If a budget drone has obstacle avoidance it would be a MASSIVE selling feature and all videos would highlight it.
Check out LYZRC L200 PRO MAX. Under 250g, obstacle avoidance, 2.7k video, 4k camera, gps, 2-axis gimbal for about $120USD or $100USD without obstacle avoidance. Check out MaxHobby's review or Perth West Oz RC's review. I sent Steve an email asking him to review but it went unanswered. That $100 drone is better than ones 2-3 more expensive
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 I did not see it in the video, that is why I asked. At the end of the video, you said to post any questions. Before asking, I checked the amazon page to see if it was included and did not see any. At the price listed ($469 US) it is in the price range of drones that have some obstacle avoidance. It just was a straightforward question. Nothing was implied. I even gave it thumbs up after watching.

Since it's under 250g, what's the usage of the remote ID?
If you make money with the drone footage you need Remote ID. Ridiculous, but so are law makers.
Hey Steve can this hs900 be controlled by the hs360s remote controller?
I honestly do not know
Is it still using wifi? my holystone 720g with wifi goes crazy when close to an antenna on top of a 4 floor building i wont ask anything outs because the price is ridiculous 469 after the discount and the dji mini 4k is 299😅does the dji mini 4k use the same wifi as the first mavic mini?
When you see a cable from remote to phone and an advertised range of 4 miles, it often means it is not using the beginner wifi you are thinking of.
What happens if you get out of range?
It then goes into RETURN TO HOME
Bro love ❤ you're your vids
Haaaaaa ! Captain , you look so different with that Beard ! Looks kinda good though , not accustomed to seeing you not looking like a Model ! Hahahaaaa , take care , Cappy !!!!!😀
Price is like 3 times lower than any new 4k dji drone, at least in finland. So i count that as an biiig positive
I pressing the link to amazon, its the HS720 that pops up.
Depends on your country… you must not live in the USA. It only pops up for the countries it is available.
If I didn't have a mini 2 se I would consider this
🙂❤👍Watching from NB Canada.🙂
I usually charge my drones using a 2.4 amp wall plug, but i think this drone says to use 2 amps...does anyone know if using 2.4 amps with this drone will cause any issues?
Probably fine
@@CAPTAINDRONE798Thanks!
Remote ID for commercial use
🤠👍
Any chance this drone will get waypoints?
Probably
I spotted tractor man at 2:02 way off in the background! Another great review Steve thanks for everything you do for the RC world.
please do hs710
I'm from the UK and my DJI mini 3 pro cost me £1000 from amazon
Could I fly this with my phone
You need the transmitter
Hey Steve! Watching your video in school again
10 years later, hey Steve watching your videos on my break at McDonalds again.

With a price tag of over $400 US, I can't see how this drone can compete. With high end budget drones like the new DJI Mini 4K or Fimi V3 I couldn't recommend a Holystone. Just my opinion. 🙃
Sure looks like a newly branded Walkera T210
I just bought the DJI mini 2 se fly-more pack. Cost was $650 au or $587514.40 South Korean Won... Yes I can buy a fully working road worthy car for less.
Does it have any obstacle avoidance?
@@nrnoble No problem
It returns home just like my DJI MAVIC MINI. LOL
* No Tractormen were harmed during the filming of this review !
Directed Energy Weaponry was set to inactive defense mode ! Laser deactivated.
AI was unable to detect human for protective safety measures.
* Tractor man is a highly trained professional.
It is strongly advised that you do NOT approach Captain Drone during Test trials of ANY aircraft !
Heheheh, Sorry Steve, I just couldn't help myself, brother !🤣🤣🤣
Wulfy
Hilarious! 😂

@@CAPTAINDRONE798You're the best, brother !!

It seems drone prices is in the ride, I understand but it’s getting absurd. Imho
Hey Capt/Steve please I need your help. I am disabled and live on a limited income I have been watching your channel for several months now and I have finally decided to buy what to me would be a large purchase and your opinion matters very much to me and I would appreciate your opinion on whether I should buy the new DJI mini 4K or do I buy the potensic atom. Please answer me back thank you signed your fan chaz
Either is fine but if you are going to crash/lose your drone due to a disability, go with DJI and also buy the CARE insurance
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Thank you Steve I really do appreciate your advice and I will take your advice and I will act upon it because I do believe you have the wisdom to steer me in the right direction I appreciate you answering me back so quickly. Signed your fan Chaz
The app looks alot like the dji go fly app.. exsctly the same in fact.
Can you make a video only with the tractor man encounters just for fun? As a tribute to this man who usually is in the videos!!!
He has indeed showed up in numerous videos out of the blue

"With REMOTE-ID".....yeaaaah, NO THANKS!!.
Why would it have remote ID, It's under 250 grams? It seems like a decent little drone though. I own 6 DJI drones, Mini 3, Mini 3 Pro, Mini 4 Pro, AIR 2S, AIR 3, & DJI FPV Drone. All are Fly More Combos. My wife has taken over, my Mini 3 Pro lol.. I just took advantage of the awesome father's day sale Autel has going, & ordered a Evo Lite Plus Premium Bundle for $839 shipped. I should have it Wednesday.
Hard pass, on this one.
@@cusuk366 lol remote isn’t the end of the world.. I don’t have this particular drone but it just bleeps out a weak blu-tooth signal that lasts about 500ft max in most conditions
@@chainbenwa2713YES IT IS
@@johnmajka5404 it allows you to operate it under part 107. If you put a monetized video up on UA-cam from your drone, they consider that commercial. If the flight was done without remote ID then you were not flying under 107.
