I’m calling it: “Please do put milk in your tea, it’s a bit barbaric when someone just chucks in a tea bag and no milk or whatever, it’s crazy” is the most British thing you’ll ever say on this channel 😂
Seeing it written out... Yeah you're totally right 😂
🙄
My Asian ass: maybe I am barbaric-
Im surprised how little Scottish folklore was mentioned considering that we have so many stories such as:
The haggis
The kelpie
Bluemen the ghost sightings on the A75
Burk and hare
The green lady of crathes castel
Ghillie chi
Grayfiars Bobby
The dog suicide bridge
The falannan lighthouse keepers
And of course the loch Ness monster
Maybe one day you could do a video focusing on Scottish folklore?
YES! I’d love that, maybe bundled with Irish and Breton mythology to be one on Celtic Myths as a whole
Omg yes that deserves a video all by itself
I remember hearing the story about Grayfriars Bobby as a kid when I visited Scotland and it made me so sad, I love the story though
I live near the dog suicide bridge, its fascinating! The haggis/haggai is always a fun one to tell foreigners...
Is the Burke and Hare story real... or folklore?
If the Dobhar-chú really did whistle for its mate, then it was probably a species of giant otter that no longer exists. Otters communicate mostly through clicks and whistles, probably because the sound travels quite well through water.
Oh wow, that's really cool to know!
Always a good day when FoxAkimbo uploads.
You know it 🤙
British “people” themselves are an example of strange mythology
True Dat
Br*itish 🤢
Us British are bad but we cant forget about the americans
@@smilerfanatic8889 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
more like the perfect example of inbreeding
Criminally under rated channel.
Have you tried Clipping some of the stories and post some on the yt shorts
You might get a viewer boost from it
ive defo considered it before, maybe at some point in the future
@@FoxAkimbo you never know unless you gamble it
Ironically both my parents are casino workers and I’m the one who loves to “let it ride”
Casinos might be a interesting topic for the future too
The ones in America are under sovereign
Atleast the ones they work at
Lotta stories behind closed doors and slot machines 🎰 🤫
@@FoxAkimbo i watched a small toy review channel subscribers go up by like 10 times just by doing shorts, you would easily reach 100k by the end of the month id assume if you did it consistently
@@RyujinRoninReach sounds like they work at an Indian casino. my tribe owns one in Michigan and we used to be sovereign too but the tribe basically sold our rights away for some different ones too the government. now local piece of trash cops can go onto our Rez and mess with our members. we already had enough of that with our "white" tribal police force don't need anymore.
"I can't visit it because it would take me two hours to get there"
Me, someone who lives in Texas, where everything is at least a two-hour drive: What?
In England, I could travel to central London in less time than Devil's dyke... and I live next to Devil's dyke lol, it's just cus I don't have a car
I was hoping someone would mention this, just so happens it was a fellow Texan 😂
It’s easy to drive for 8+ hours and never leave Texas
Hell, I live in Kentucky and it's a full 6+ hours to go from east to west, depending on how fast you drive and if you get stuck in one of the million traffic jams that happen with no reason
This is my favorite horror/iceberg channel! I feel that you will get very viral soon!
Fingers crossed! 🤞
Im loving these type of videos!!! Keep up the fantastic work!!
Glad you enjoy them so much!
this was so interesting ! i really love these world urban legends videos
I’m digging the mix of folklore and food from different cultures
Ah I loved this video, it was so fun to hear about the tales I've grown up with!!! My Grandparents liek the Lincoln Imp, so when my family visited there a couple of years ago we went to the cathedral and bought a few imp souvenirs too hehe, it would be cool to see another video with more Scottish/Welsh/Irish folklore maybe? Stuff like Banshees, Dullahan, or Kelpies maybe?
Loved the commentary and quips as always hehe, and ofc, the British Cuisine was impeccable, I haven't had a crisp sandwich is so long but now I'm craving a good ol' vegan ham, cucumber, and bbq pringle sandwich smh :')
Can't wait for the next vid :D
There's another story similar to the Shuck, it's called the Beast of Bodmin Moar, it's a really interesting story a teacher told me in secondary school because I was interested in folklore
Also my guess for where you're from is somewhere near London like Reading or maybe towards the west a bit more, I'm from Bristol so that's also a guess
Edit: Another very interesting story is the story of Sawny Bean in Scotland, a very wild story of an inbred cannibal family living in the sea caves near Edinburgh, it's also very likely to actually be true
Love, love, love this topic! It was fascinating and you did a fantastic job with it. Also loved the insights into British snackies, lol. And, since every potato chip connoisseur knows that Salt & Vinegar is the absolute best flavor, you might be interested to know that the origin of that flavor for chips (crisps) is Irish.
this guy is so underrated
I agree
@@FoxAkimbo Can you do Australia Folklore?
Holy Crap, the second I check for one of these, another pops up. I love all of your videos!!!!
❤️
Another amazing video from an amazing creator! ❤❤❤
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for uploading, I have intense nightmares after watching your videos. Im memorizing the word “Nation Express Way” because of your japanese folklore video.
Awesome video, yet again! I love this series. Could you possibly do one on Finnish folklore as that's my home country?
Torille
great video! i’d love for you to make one like this on scandinavian myths and legends!
Thanks for the idea!
Another great video 🔥🔥🔥
You already know it!
your videos are always interesting and i love your personality keep it up :)
Thank you! Will do!
I recently found my great great grandfather’s certificate of naturalization from Staffordshire, England. Now I’m obsessed with all things English.
Nice! Lots of these were new to me 😀
Just found your channel, loving the topics you cover, you have a great voice for narration!! Subscribed 💛🧡
I'm so glad you enjoy the content
Let's go, Another banger! Keep it up man!😁👍
Thanks! Will do!
@@FoxAkimbo have you ever had prawn cocktail spirals? They're one of my favourite crisps for sure
This video is underrated. I love how you are having fun and being yourself in narrating. I also love mythical creatures and folklore.
So glad you enjoyed!
The Brits are The Real Life Orcs do to concurring everywhere, being a warrior race and having big teeth.
The Spanish, Italians, French, Portuguese, Dutch etc. conquered many other nations too..
Wow, you've come so far since I've started watching you. I don't know if you remember me but I was commenting on your videos when you were much smaller. Keep it up!
I do remember, you said you wanted to make an iceberg video right? Thanks for coming back
@@FoxAkimbo Yeah I was, they are harder to make than they look!
Yess pickled onion Monster Munch is god-tier!! Also I guess I'm the weirdo who loves them in sandwiches XD
This was really fun, some of these I've never heard before! I also recommend reading up on the various phantom cats that have allegedly been spotted throughout the UK (the most well known ones being the Beast of Bodmin and the Surrey Puma), it's pretty wild!
Never heard anyone have them in sandwiches hahaha, you do you I guess XD
On another note, I have heard of the beast of bodmin before, but never the surrey puma, I'll have to check it out
@@FoxAkimbo it takes some maneuvering but it's worth it haha
They remind me of the pickle chips we have here.
A small island: *Exists*
The UK: Hippity Hoppity you're now my property
All these artifacts, you see 'em?
We're putting them in our museum!
Monster munch is the ultimate crisp! Although I do put them in a sandwich with tons of butter 👁👄👁 not sorry
Absolute demon, I can't accept this blasphemy
@@FoxAkimbo it's like people who spread butter on potato waffles! 😯
There's a true encounter with a Red Cap on the channel: The Supernaturalist from a few yrs ago. Its a MUST listen
Hey Fox! Loved this one, learned about things I'd never heard of before!
the screaming skull and the dog suicide bridge are always my favourites. here in glasgow im pretty sure monks and black dogs are the most commonly cited in terms of actual folklorely type stuff
Very nice
A sandwich with CHIPS ON IT?!? now that's something in going to have to try. Canadian subscriber here !! 🖤🖤
❤️🤍❤️ I'd recommend this classic bit of british cuisine
I remember hearing that remains of a large dog were unearthed in or around the church where the legend of Black Shuck took place and it was suspected to have been the physical remains of that infamous phantom d. I'm surprised there haven't been many films about Black Shuck, especially British ones. However, I believe the Sherlock Holmes novel Hound of Baskervilles loosely took inspiration from the legend, unless I'm mistaken... I have an Idea for a scary horror about Black Shuck, based on the myth and the finding of that mysterious dog remains in that church and the possible return of Black Shuck in the modern day... the trouble is, even scary-looking dogs would look too tame and cute for how I imagine what Black Shuck needs to look like to be a compelling iconic horror villain, another idea I have (based on the one-eyed version) is that Black Shuck was once a black and colossal living hunting hybrid dog that was brutally killed and disfigured and its vengeful ghost is badly burnt to the bone on one side of its face which is mostly missing, exposing a large swollen eye
Red cap sounds p dope tbh
Yeah dude just scrounging around looking for dem baddies to obliterate
@@FoxAkimbo he just like me frrl
I was going to watch the Minecraft Iceberg but this is worth alot more.
love the pretty music in this iceberg
Thanks man, I was unsure about a lot of it fitting tonally, i'm glad to hear you enjoyed it
Aye, Now we talking. I'm bloody excited.
Wait, If your doing England, Scotland, and Ireland. Did you include Wales?
Lets gooooooooooooooooooo I cant wait to hear about the folklore of the country i live in
Let's gooooo
I'm from South Africa and we also eat crisp sandwiches, usually a brand called Simba, I personally only tried cheese and onion and Mexican Chilli.

hmnm interesting guess 🤔
Disturban recommended your channel, I'm subscribing cos your vids are fab!!
* I'd say you're from Dorset way?? ( that area). You sound as though you've moved around a fair bit, could you be an army kid? 🤔
Ah thanks for subbing! I'm glad you think my vids are fab, and I was actually in Dorset quite recently!

Realized how American I was when you said 2 hrs was a long drive and I thought, “I drive 6 hrs just to see family”😅
great video - my guess is Oxford area?
great advert for pickled onion monster munch too - i reckon its a monster lol
Interesting guess, I will neither confirm nor deny its accuracy
@@FoxAkimbo since listening, I have started moving my opinion further down South, possibly Hampshire but hey we will never know 😁
Perhaps you're closer, perhaps you're farther away 🤔
The person who named one of the ravens Edgar is someone of good taste xD

There's actually a somewhat similar story in my country about a famous location called Candi Prambanan.
To put it short, a man named Raden Bandung Bondowoso falls in love with a princess named Roro Jonggrang. She doesn't want to marry him but he kept insisting and even kept her locked in her castle at one point because he got angry for being rejected. In order to drive him away, she challenged him to build 1000 temples before dawn if he wants to marry her. The man was overconfident and told the princess he will definitely finish her request, so with the help of an army of genies he proceeded to successfully build 999 temples. The princess grew worried since he was almost finished yet the sun hasn't risen yet, but luckily enough the head maid has already devised a plan. The head maid told the other maids to burn stacks of hay (the fire meant to mimic the rising sun) and pound mortars (to indicate that people have woken up and are beginning to work). Seeing the light from the burning hay and hearing the sounds of the mortar tricked the rooster into crowing to signal the start of the day. The man was not pleased when he found out he only made 999 temples, so in a fit of rage he turned the princess into stone and made her the 1000th temple.
I might be off by a few dozen kilometers but I love the name SPEEN England right off the A4/Bath Road.
(0.0) waaaat I'm from US and I love potato chip sandwiches. I used to eat them as a kid. My favorite chip to use is a local brand manufactured in my town. The flavor I'd pick was sour cream and cheddar. Had no idea chip sandwiches is a UK thing lol
Me when I heard the Guernsey Story: ...

WHAT. DA. F-
Me remembering I watched a horror movie that has a scene somewhat related to the Guernsey scene: Ah, that's why I wasn't shocked as much.
Interesting
This is a certified bri'ish moment
Innit mate
Tha's true innit
I hope he mentions the owlman from Cornwall...it's my fav supernatural creature next to black shuck ( the black dog of death)
Yes I'm edgy but it's a neat creature
i've never but milk in my tea didn't know that was even a thing
Hot black tea with sugar 😁 and for the chip sandwich, salt and vinegar on white or whole wheat, really good lunch time snack together
Man really ate crisp sandwiches 😂😂
It was a good lunch
The ravens in the tower have their wings clipped I believe, so they can't fly away.
"Spawn killing" holy shit that is dark!
11:13 WAIT IS THAT WHAT THAT THING FROM POKEMON SWSH IS BASED ON???
Yup
i like your folklore stories . can you do indonesian folklore horror please ?
Time to give myself nightmares 😂
Dude I would LOVE if you did myths and legends from Indonesia, China or India
+ Inuit folklore lol
These iceberg videos never let me down.
This ain't an iceberg
Monster Munch are absolute fire. Also Happy Jubilee my fellow Brits and drink tea.
Me: *excitedly listening to fox akimbo talk about British food with curiosity* Oooo what's monster munch??
also me when I hear him say that it's acidic, and I can't have very acidic foods because health reasons: mah heart mah soul :(
also I don't put milk in my tea cuz lactose intolerance lol. loving the content though. I thought this was funny tbh, sorry if it wasn't
Does Tower of London's Raven named Edgar says "nevermore!" if you ask him questions?
I like those urban legends
I use to go shopping in southend I lived in Essex when I was a kid cause my dad's from England and I had family there and I didn't know about that
mmmm I want to try the pickled onion monster chips!
Also the Dobbar-chu looks kind of like that weird thing that washed up on the beach: the Montauk monster
If you ever get the chance to have monster munch I'd recommend haha
why not include Ireland in the title too when the description says its included?
*me a Chinese sipping black tea with no milk* hmmm a bit iffy on the wording in that one lol
I reckon you're from around Cambridgeshire/Linconshire (i'm from the midlands)
American here, I’m gonna say you’re potentially scouse, your speaking reminds me of Jaime Carragher where you can hear the scouse but its more annunciated
My first guess though was Yorkshire
Don't forget to mention 'Black Shuck' the phantom dog reputed to roam the East Anglian Countryside. Oh you did.
If I had a trio of ravens I would name them Edgar, Allan, and Poe.
You missed out a chance to include the beast of bodmin moor
ha I like to think that famed American pizza mascot Chuckie Cheese is the son of the Ratman of Southend
Before 100 gang here!
thx disturban for shouting out this tootier content
Yeah he is a real legend for that
i find it interesting that [redacted] used so much english folklore when writing a billion dollar witchcraft franchise. like, the black shook is the basis for Sirius, and i’m pretty sure redcaps are in HP..?
