It's actually debatable whether Hell is in the Bible. Hell is a word used to translate several different words from the original Greek that probably don't all refer to the same thing. Theology is kind of a crapshoot tbh.
It is not only a fanfiction, it is a *self-incert* fanfiction that even includes a 'mary-sue' as a love interest (Beatriz).

Something important to note about limbo in Dante's inferno is that while its located in hell its not exactly what youd think of when you think of hell. The best description would probably be to say its just like life on earth but you cant die.
Also as a Christian im a little surprised you didn't mention an idea that exists among some Christians that hell is meant to be merely a rejection of god and the fire and torture is metaphors for the hatred of god you feel in your heart. A place you go when you reject god where you can eternally wallow in hatred of him. One of my favorite examples of evidence for hell being a metaphor is the fact that we see people being sent to hell or conversations with people who are in hell a few times in the bible and not once does anyone ever plead to be taken out or to be let into heaven instead those who go to hell curse god or even try to drag believers down into hell with them.
I don't remember who said it but there's a famous quote that says: "The gates of hell are locked from the inside"

As a Christian myself, I’d just like to make a few corrections to some of your explanations. As you mentioned, Christianity has been simplified to “bad people go to hell, good people go to Heaven”, but that’s not actually what we believe. There may be sects of Christianity that explain it this way, but that’s technically not what the Bible says. The most defining belief of Christianity revolves around Christ’s death on the cross and how He was sacrificed in humanity’s place. He took on all of humanity’s sins so that if we accepted Him as our savior and the Son of God, then His sacrifice would rid us of our personal sin and allow us to spend eternity in Heaven. God is explained to be a perfect, righteous being so we cannot truly be with Him if we still have sin. That was why Jesus was sent to Earth so that humanity would have a chance at redemption through His death. So, it’s not simply if you’re bad, you’ll go to hell or if you’re good, you’ll go to heaven.
It is also mentioned in the Bible that no sin is powerful enough to separate us from God’s love if we accept it. Sin is sin to God, though there are certainly types of sin that could be considered worse than others, such as murder. But, if we truly repent and accept God’s forgiveness, then we will enter Heaven when we die. However, the true nature of a person’s repentance can only be known by God since He looks at the heart and not just our deeds. Every human has sinned in one way or another, we are all imperfect. Despite this, God loves us infinitely and willingly sacrificed His Son so we could spend eternity with Him. It really all comes down to the personal choice of an individual. If you are born with a mental illness or are attracted to one gender instead of the other, as many Christians over the years have claimed will send you to hell, these things don’t determine your ultimate fate. You aren’t automatically evil because of those things and it doesn’t make you any less worthy of God’s love. The Christians who claim otherwise haven’t read the Bible. Jesus loved everyone He came across, no matter who they were or what they’d done. This doesn’t mean we should live doing whatever we want, but it means that we are loved and will be forgiven no matter what happens.
Also, hell could be described as more of a state of being than an actual place. It is the complete separation from God, whereas life on Earth is not wholly distant from Him. Heaven is complete communion with God, Earth is temporary separation, and hell is eternal separation. God did not create hell and he does not govern hell in any way, it is simply the complete and eternal distance from Him. This is supposed to be what causes the immense suffering as we have never truly experienced a life without God being present in small ways. Jesus actually experienced hell when He took on humanity’s sins because God had to sever their connection for a short time since He is the antithesis of sin. This is mentioned in the Gospels and is a fascinating topic.

Paradise Lost and the Divine Comedy are my two favorite books. You could read them a thousand times and pay attention to specific words that change the whole meaning of the verse. I can't remember the Italian word, but there's a discussion on a verse in the Divine Comedy because of Dante's handwriting. It says "[unknown word] dye the river red with their sins". Some people think the word Dante used is one to describe the women that dye fabric, which means that everybody sins. Others believe that the word is "prostitute", which could have something to do with menstruation and being a woman. It's crazy how one word can drastically change the meaning of a verse.

What I think it by “hell is an idea first born on an undigested apple dumpling” most likely means someone had a late night snack, and then had a vivid nightmare as what happens to some people if they go to sleep with undigested food.
Apple dumpling sounds like when Adam and Eve made dumplings out of the Fruit of Knowledge, after they tasted it.

I just wanna say, as a Muslim, thanks for the inclusion. A bit of info regarding Jahannam is that it’s sometimes depicted as a sort of primordial beast that literally explodes with fury and as a result is in a permanent state of spontaneous combustion. Also rather than ruling it, Iblis (the Islamic equivalent of Satan) doesn’t rule over it, but is instead is its number one prisoner.

Interestingly Satan is called Shaitaan in Islam. And the equivalent for lucifer is Iblees. Moreover, In Islam, Shaitaan is not considered to be a fallen angel, infact the whole concept of angels disobeying God doesn't exist. Shaitaan is actually thought to be a Jinn who used to praise Allah so much that he was elevated to the status of angels. He was of course cast out of Heaven for disobeying God by not bowing before Adam(A.S.)

I love your iceberg videos and always watch them when they pop up but the first symbol you showed was a pentacle. A pentagram is upside down and often used in satanism (the top points represent baphomet’s horns, and the bottom being his chin) the pentacle is a pagan symbol with each point representing an element and the top point representing spirit.

Ok but seriously this was another cool video! Mythology and beliefs are really interesting to study, and learning more about perceptions of hell was really cool!
A note on pentagrams - this is leaning into religion and ik you didn't want to focus on it but - Satanists adopted the upside down pentagram as they imprinted a goats head over the design, whilst Christians adopted it for the five wounds of Jesus, etc. But it's also a historically spiritual symbol for the 'five elements', a symbol of protection, and faith for different faith groups! Buuut western christians and hollywood went "huhuhuh it's The Devil Star" and the media went wild with it

You said yourself that you were raised Catholic, but I'm surprised you never brought up the alternative view of hell most Catholics and some other Christians have, which is very different from what most people think of hell.
In Catholicism, hell is best understood as the afterlife without God. It's not a literal fiery underworld where you go if you did one thing that God doesn't like. The people in hell hate God so much they would rather suffer for eternity than be with him. God doesn't send people to hell, people send themselves to hell. A common quote is "The gates of hell are locked from the inside". The "fire" is merely a metaphor for the immense pain and suffering in the damned caused by God's love. Think of it like a child mad at his parents while they're trying to hug him.

Pentacles (pentagrams with circles around them) are commonly used in modern Pagan practices (primarily wytchcraft) to represent the five natural elements - that being Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Spirit. They can also be used to ward off bad spirits and demons, which is the opposite of what most people think they're for. I personally wear a pentacle necklace at all times (except in the shower and such, of course) as a form of sacred protection. I also find myself gripping it tight when speaking to my patron gods.
Pentagrams as a whole don't have anything to do with Satanism, really, but a lot of people think they do, which often leads to it being used by edgy wannabe Satanists who have no idea what Satanism really is.
Sorry for the ramble. And no hate towards you of course! From all the videos I've seen of yours (which would be most of them), you seem like a wonderful person. It just makes me sad and frustrated when people misrepresent spiritual beliefs and practices, even if they aren't my own. And yes, I know you said not to talk about religion on the internet, and I do wholeheartedly agree with that mindset! But this felt important to type out, if only to each one or two people something new. Hope you don't mind..
